Updated review: Love this place. Last time was off but it's back in my graces lol. Friendly efficient service. Fresh fruits are great. Valets are friendly, ambiance is warm and cozy. Loved my harvester omelet and caramel crunch latte!

I've been to The Bee & The Biscuit a few times now, and they never miss. From the quaint, cozy atmosphere to the genuinely friendly service, I'm always left impressed. It's the kind of place that feels welcoming the moment you walk in. The food is consistently good every single visit. Today, I ordered the Big Farm Truck with blueberry pancakes delicious as always but I have to admit, after trying some of my daughter's shrimp and grits, I had a little order envy! It was that good. Really good! Typically, there can be a bit of a wait, but today we were pleasantly surprised and seated within 15 minutes of arrival, which made the experience even better. Overall, this spot continues to deliver great food, great service, and a great atmosphere. Definitely a go to brunch favorite!

They lived up to the hype!! -valet parking is not optional and the payment is "a tip". -no reservations available so we put our name on the list and 15 mins later we were seated. -we waited at the outdoor patio for our table to be called and they have an outside bar and the bartender passed all the vibe checks. He was very friendly and his drinks were exactly how you wanted them to be. -seating its a bit limited and there is a message outside and on their website that big parties will be split. -food was delicious and their menu has so much food i dont have a choice but to return! -18% tip is added to all tables regardless of size or time.

Always a wait but it's worth it. We waited about 45 minutes, which was expected, and the experience made it completely worthwhile. While waiting outside, it was chilly, but the fire pit kept us warm and comfortable. Chase, the bartender outside, had great recommendations and got us started with seasonal cocktails--the Queen's Cherry Pear Mule and the Honey Bunny, both of which were delicious. Once seated, Brianna was our server and she was awesome, friendly, attentive, and on point the entire time. For my main entrée, I ordered the Old Pungo Omelet, which was hearty and full of flavor. We ended our afternoon brunch with their yummy cinnamon rolls, the perfect sweet finish. From the outside bar to the complimentary valet, the service was truly top-notch which is why I keep coming back!

If you ever find yourself in the countryside of Virginia Beach, The Bee and the Biscuit is the kind of place you don't want to miss, rain or shine. When we showed up, it was pouring outside, but you could still tell their outdoor area is usually a vibe. There's an outdoor bar and plenty of seating for people waiting while you wait for your table. I know their wait times can be over an hour, so that's nice. Parking is valet, which is a plus especially when they get packed. Inside, the whole place just feels super cozy, almost like you're hanging out at a friend's farmhouse. Lots of cute, homey details. We grabbed a table over by the bar, which are high top tables. First up was the bee biscuit basket. Honestly, these biscuits could be the main reason to visit. They were so warm, soft, and perfect with the jam and local honey butter they make in house. Seriously, so good. I kept my coffee simple with a cappuccino (added whipped cream for fun), which was exactly what I wanted on a rainy morning. For food, I went with the hippy breakfast burrito. Black beans, corn, tomatoes, avocado, potatoes, all wrapped up in a wrap and served with a tangy cilantro lime vinaigrette and fresh fruit. Really tasty, filling, and felt a little healthier than the usual brunch stuff. Bee and the Biscuit is totally worth the hype. Cozy spot, friendly people, awesome breakfast. Definitely planning to come back when I can enjoy the outdoor space, too.

The food was DELICIOUS. The staff was so kind. And the place was so cute - I love the bee theme. Biggest downside was the wait, but the bar and my friends made it manageable. Just goes to show how popular the place is. I will be back when I have time!

This place is my absolutely FAVORITE and a must visit during my trips to Sandbridge. The ambiance is incredible and has the coziest vibe. I particularly love the outdoor seating by the garden. I've never had a bad thing here and everything is so delicious. My most recent meal was the Farmstand omelet with a side of cheesy grits. But the real MVP was my oat milk latte! I usually will share my coffee with my husband but I told him to keep his hands off this one. Simply delicious and perfectly balanced. I will say that this place is knowingly delicious, so it can get very busy. For the early birds out there, arrive early (literally before it opens) and get in line. It's worth it!

You come here to relax, not eat quick and leave. Pulling up, they offer free valet service. They take your car and you walk in to get on the list. We immediately hit the bar to get something to drink. I ordered a Jameson baileys coffee. It was delicious. We sat in front of the fire and relaxed until our names were called. They were pretty accurate with the timing of when we'd be seated. I ordered the breakfast tostada. My sister ordered a cinnamon roll for the table. The roll was delicious! So warm and gooey. The tostada was good too. When I think of tostadas though I think of a handheld treat. There was no way I was going to be able to pick it up LOL. The tortilla wouldn't cut either so I ended up just mixing everything and eating it as is. It was pretty good either way. The fruit was delicious! Fresh and perfectly ripe. I really enjoyed my breakfast here and I definitely recommend this place to anyone wanting a slow, but delicious start to their morning.

Truly enjoyed every bit of my visit at The Bee & the biscuit! The ambiance and decor is adorable and feels like a southern kitchen! The food was amaaaazing! Highly recommend the stuffed French toast and the pancakes. The mimosa flight had great flavors and variety as well. I can't wait to come back the next time I am in town!

I love this place! Wonderful friendly atmosphere and warm welcoming environment. The food is all hand crafted and delicious. I have tried a variety of menu items and I have several favorites. They are all great choices.

We were told there would be a 45 minute wait at 9:20 am. It turned into 1 hour 15 minutes because of a kitchen "hold". At 10 am half of the tables were empty more people were waiting outside than people actually at tables eating. The food was good but this is not a well run restaurant. Once seated our food was served in less than 10 minutes. Good food not not worth wasting so much time and effort. Place is also expensive compared to other restaurants

We visited today (Saturday) with a party of four and waited about 90 minutes to be seated. The outdoor bar kept us entertained, and there is plenty of seating on the property, both covered and open. The strawberry crush was . So good! After we were seated, the service was quick, as was the food coming out. I opted for the tostada with chorizo, and we had biscuits and gravy, an omelet, and a few other entrees. Included gratuity of 18% was well advertised and clear, its unfortunate that's required but it won't steer us away.

The Bee and the Biscuit serves amazing food and specialty drinks in the Pungo area of Virginia Beach. This upscale brunch establishment is worth the wait! They have very limited seating, and a valet service that parks your car. Bee and the biscuit does an amazing job taking down your number and notifying you when your seat is ready. During your wait you can play one of their board games or grab a cocktail at their pop up bar. The old home setting and amazing service and food make this the perfect place for a special occasion! I tried the honey in my cocktail and was very impressed.

Ask the Community - The Bee & the Biscuit

    Is this place ADA accessible?

Yes, there's a ramp near valet parking. But it's best to go on a week day because the weekend wait will delay you getting a table.

    Is this place dog friendly?

    I have no idea

    Are dogs welcome?

No they are not, at least inside.

Are the waits still insane after tourist season?

Not so much on weekdays but it's still pretty long on the weekends.

How busy is it usually on Saturday morning?

Super busy, the earlier you go the shorter the wait but be prepared to wait an hour or so if you don't go early enough.

Do they have bottomless mimosas option?

Virginia abc laws don't allow for bottomless mimosas, but this place has a mimosa flight that's inexpensive and full of wonderful flights.

How much is their mimosa flight?

    4 mimosas for $12

They've made some updates since my last review. I noticed they swapped out the bar stools for what seem to be a bit more accommodating in style. They added cushion to the church benches, although they are a bit "grippy". They updated the other bar and also the outside area. I believe they have a cornhole section and from what I could tell, an area that could be really fun during the warmer months. The overall vibe is so quirky, cool, different, and I just love how it's decorated. The other locations have the same sort of intrigue but in much different ways. I still love the OG Bay Local and probably need to visit there again to be reminded of why we fell in love in the first place, but the location on General Booth... hard to beat, especially being so close. Another positive is the food quantity, quality, and price for what you are getting. Sure, almost every food establishment had to raise their price, but Bay Local seem to be very reasonable, ESPECIALLY for what you get. I know several other places that have good food, but you are paying several dollars more for what Bay Local offers that is similar (in some cases) but not slacking on portion control and quality. That is huge! Bay Local is a "well-oiled machine" with management, staff, and operations (not their first rodeo). The staff are attentive, friendly, fast in service, including fixing anything that may not have been correct, and still hold the quality of what they offer. Congrats to a great establishment, and it will remain on the top slots of our brunch list!

Service was friendly, welcoming, and impressively fast from start to finish. The water was also crisp and refreshing, and I appreciated that they were generous with the lemon slices. The menu leans heavily toward fried foods, but I was glad to see several grilled seafood options available as well. The grilled flounder and the grilled shrimp and scallops were the standout dishes for me. Super fresh and well prepared as they were all super flavorful and cooked perfectly. The scallops in particular were incredibly tender, fresh tasting, and completely free of any sandy texture. The seafood honestly did not need help from any sauces because the flavor and texture stood well on their own. That is why I found the condiment situation a little puzzling. Each plate came with a large serving of tartar sauce, cocktail sauce, and lemon butter sauce, while the grilled tuna additionally came with a pink sauce that reminded me of sriracha mayo, Thousand Island dressing, or yum yum sauce. I personally only used a little of the lemon butter on my broccoli but nothing else. We took the rest home so not to waste it but largely still found them unnecessarily. While the seafood should have been the star of the show, the condiments ended up being a much larger serving size than the seafood was. Rather than automatically serving several large cups of sauce, it might make more sense to simply ask guests which sauces they would like to have. There were six shrimp, though they were fairly small, and only two scallops. Given how exceptional the scallops were, I would have happily traded some of the extra sauces for a few more of them. The portions for the grilled tuna and burger however appeared much larger than the grilled shrimp and scallops entrée or grilled flounder. The sides however were much more generous. The broccoli was perfectly steamed and paired nicely with the lemon butter sauce. The hush puppies came automatically with every meal. While I would personally prefer having a healthier alternative available, my brother enjoyed them and described them as crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, with a genuine corn flavor and just the right amount of salt. Overall, these were very enjoyable meals; the service was excellent, the outdoor seating was pleasant, the seafood was fresh and skillfully prepared, and the sides were generous. One thing to keep in mind is that if you order the grilled flounder or shrimp and scallops as a lunch meal it may not be enough food to keep you full.
