Firehouse Coffee is a welcomed addition to Hampton, VA. This was a much needed local coffee shop/cafe. It also has made great use of the available real estate on Fort Monroe. They offer a great selection of coffee with solid flavoring options dependent upon your tastes. There is also a small breakfast and lunch menu. I've personally eaten some of the breakfast items and they are very good for what they are. Nothing special there, but they are good! What I love most about this spot is its unique interior and cozy interior. The coffeehouse is literally an old firehouse. The mix of seating and firehouse/firemen related decorations makes for an inviting and enjoyable experience. read more

We enjoyed delicious ice cream and coffee from Firehouse Coffee. The atmosphere is very comfortable and welcoming, with lots of interesting Firehouse memorabilia, couches and armchairs. We enjoyed playing chess and checkers while waiting for our orders, and appreciated the family-friendly environment as we had our young children with us. I stumbled across this cute little coffee shop on Yelp and my husband and I decided to check it out. It is a literal firehouse and even though it was a little difficult to find, it was well worth it. This coffee shop is more of a cafe than a coffee shop since it has breakfast/lunch and ice cream options, but it served our purpose since we came for coffee. My husband got a pour over, no complaints since it's just a regular brewed coffee, and I got a dirty chai latte. It was good, I just think that they need to add a little something else to really get that chai flavor (it was a little watery). Aside from that, I would much rather come here than Starbucks so keep supporting local businesses like this! What a wonderful addition this coffee house is Hampton, VA! read more

Best Chai Tea latte I've EVER had, really cute little shop with great seating for reading and tables for working. They leave treats out for your doggos and they open the garage doors in the summer. Breakfast and Lunch options as well as ice cream. HIGHLY recommend!! read more

This place is a little hidden gem on fort Monroe, slightly difficult to find but definitely worth the search. I had the pleasure of enjoying an iced coffee with ice cubes made of coffee so the drink never waters down, which I thought was pretty brilliant. The chicken salad was amazing also. Me and my husband LOVE this coffee house. We work out at the YMCA across the street from it, so it is the perfect location. The staff is super friendly. The location we love. They have indoor seating or outdoor seating. What we love about the outside option is many places offer outside seating, but the setting here is actually a pretty view. Firehouse is located on historic Fort Monroe. We both always get the sausage, egg, cheese, on a croissant. I don't know where they get these croissants, but it totally cancels out my work out, and it is worth it. I love the chia tea with an espresso shot. So good!! Maybe it doesn't take much to impress me, but my husband gets an ice coffee of some sort (I just know he loves them) the ice cubes are made out of coffee. Went to the Firehouse Coffee House on Ft. Monroe this AM to sample their wares. Both the breakfast sandwiches and the coffee were good. You'd expect as much for $58 for 4 people. That's the "Good" news. On the other side of the same coin is the fact that the food was ready at 9:57 AM and the coffee at 10:17 AM. Really? Call me a grouchy OLD man if you will, but I tend to get a bit perturbed when I pay premium prices for a meal and have to wait 20 (Count them, twenty long) minutes for my coffee. Granted the other three individuals at the table were content to consume their sandwiches in the hope that sometime soon their coffee might magically appear. When I went up to the counter to ask about the order, I was told that the young lady working the coffee machine never received our ticket (the same one that accounted for approximately 1/2 of the $58 that I'd paid for breakfast). From what I can see of the process, after the order is placed and paid for, the tickets are then handed to the kitchen staff and the coffee machine person. This entire process takes place within a 6 - 10 ft. area. It would appear that for all practical purposes, the ticket containing the coffee order was inadvertently routed to Juan Valdez (who resides somewhere in the remote coffee fields of Columbia). When Juan was made aware of the incident, he hastened to return the ticket to Firehouse Coffee at Ft. Monroe. Unfortunately, Conchita (his burro and only mode of transport), injured herself and had to be put down in transit. Consequently, the order NEVER made it to the barista. Had I not brought the matter to the attention of the manager, we'd still be sitting there at lunchtime waiting for our breakfast coffee. The manager did apologize for the oversight, and she did indicate that "your coffee should ALWAYS arrive before your meal". Let it be known that I wholeheartedly concur with said sentiment. We were awarded a basket of "conciliatory cookies because of the incident. The truth be known, I would have been much more impressed with the owner's sincerity had the price of the coffee been subtracted from the overall bill. Taking into account that the lady mentioned that she had a brand-new staff in place; both the food and the drinks WERE good, but I'd be hesitant to return to an establishment where I'd have to be responsible for their delivery also. Go! Eat! Just stay on top of your coffee order! read more

It's a very cute venue, in a really nice neighborhood. I just stopped in to get a latte to go, and I really enjoyed the friendly service and the tasty latte. :) I will definitely be coming back here next time I am in the area. read more

Always enjoyed this this place. Great coffee and my kids love the croissants. One tiny complaint: my wife and I stopped in during a bike ride around the fort. We arrived at 4:28pm and were told they were done serving food as their ovens were off. They explained they have to clean the oven nightly. They close at 5. Both being in the industry we understood, but were disappointed. We know cleaning takes time but it should not interrupt service times. As we were leaving 8 people in two different groups were also turned away. Just sucks because people are struggling for every guest right now and they're turning away money. read more

Yummiest iced vanilla latte ever! I loved how the ice cubes were frozen cubes of coffee- added a nice flavor and helped the coffee never taste watered down :) They have almond and soy milk for the milk alternatives too! Cutest little hole in the wall, a must try if you're in the area! read more

Let me start with the decor of this old firehouse is spot on. The painted fire hydrants outside are awesome touch.We didn't partake in the coffee. So I can't attest to it being good or bad. That being said... I can say they can't make a salad to save their lives. The sign said Mediterranean salad..,bed of greens, olives, feta, tomatoes and meat for extra. Well, it was a bed of spinach and a few pieces of iceberg. A few means a few. Now I like spinach so I i was ok with it. But if You don't like spinach or you shouldn't eat it because of kidney stones. That would be a big problem.Being it's not on the sign saying bed of spinach. It had six small crumbles of feta 4 olives and about the same for tomatoes. This was the skimpiest salad I think I have ever had for 8 bucks .That was before the up-charge for the chicken salad . Which they even forgot. Which actually turned out to be store-bought . I did assume it was homemade chicken salad .That was my fault , it wasn't. Just store bought from some chain store. It was not very good. My wife's salad was the same although no olives. They forgot the chicken salad on hers as well. But they did rectify that. I asked for unsweet tea as a beverage and was directed to the cold case and ended up with a unsweet tea in a plastic bottle. Now this is a coffee shop. I understand that but you can't make unsweet tea. I think they really need to look at the way they do things here. Making unsweet is minimal cost.They would make more money , profit if they make their own unsweet and sell it. They could even get some types of tea and have a coffee and tea shop. Instead of buying a container from Sam's or BJ's and reselling it. Now this is just a review our experience there which was not very good. read more

Came in during a visit to the fort and I was pleasantly surprised! It was a cute shop with plenty of space and seating, the decor was fitting and the workers were friendly! I ordered a vanilla iced latte lightly sweetened and although it was sweeter than I'm used to it was still very good. They have upped the iced latte game and use coffee ice cubes which is awesome so your drink doesn't get watered down! I will def go back if we visit the fort again! read more

I love this place! Very cute inside, it's a restored 1881 firehouse. They have air curtains and a little ac unit to make sure you stay cool. Any coffee is customizable and can be iced, blended, or hot. Staff is always so sweet and helpful!! Would definitely recommend for coffee or a quick bite read more
