Waited to post this but I should of listened to other reviews. First the order took forever to come in. I asked them to give me an idea and they could not. So I waited 3 weeks. Then it finally came in. Made 2 appointments for it to be installed and both times canceled at the last minute and i had taken days out of work. The third time weeks later, I was promised that installer would come to finish installing. I even tried calling the installer and no answer, no callbacks. I finally got the stove working but then realized that pieces were missing. I called the manager, the owner and even canadia manufacturer. No response from the stove shop. Company said too expensive to ship part alone without order. Called back and stove shoppe promised to help. Nope! I dont know if any local shops are good but can't get any more frustrating than this! They are pleasant to talk too and we were patient till the end. But still not completed and the missing piece still. It's been 4 to 5 months!! read more

As an addendum to my review of the Fire House Stove Shoppe of 11 months ago, I return to add additional information I have learned from buying a wood stove there. I was specifically told, because I specifically asked about the burn time for the stove that I wanted to buy. I was looking for an overnight burn, from 11pm to 6AM and was informed by the sales woman that the stove that I was looking to buy had at least a 7 hour burn when completely filled with firewood. Not so in reality. The best I got from the stove I bought, after completing filling it with firewood, was approximately 3 hours, yes, 3 hours. I followed the instructions to the letter and allowed the automatic air intake regulate the burn process after filling the stove to its capacity. After 11 months of purchasing the stove, I can guarantee that this stoves longest burn time was about 3 hours, certainly not the 7 hours promised by the sales person. Just another reason not to buy a wood stove insert from this store. Sorry folks but those are facts. Not a 7 hour burn but at best 3 hours. read more

Bought a brand new pellet stove. Got it home, removed the shrinkwrap. Stove was missing the computer and room fan. They put a used computer and a used room fan. Stove has never run right. They have been out six times in a year and a half to look at it. It is never right. Last time we had no heat in late October they didn't come out for three weeks. Stove still didn't work right. Said they would warranty defective parts and that I would get a call back before the end of the day. Next day they act like they don't know what is going on. read more

The owner is insane - contracted to purchase an overstock fireplace he advertised on Facebook marketplace and insisted I show up at his office with 3000 on cash and then hung up on me . Lied about having all the parts and stated he would show me a photo of said missing parts - literally 30 Seconds later had his employee call and said it was sold because I demanded all the parts claimed and not photos . I think he has a drug habit or Alzheimer's. read more

Would not recommend. #1- $1400 delivery fee to, literally, drop off a $4000 stove. It was a replacement for the same exact stove that was removed. No install of anything. #2- their name is almost the same exact name as the stove shop a mile down the street, also in Epping. Super confusing when trying to look up the number to call. read more

This has been the worst experience. In early July 24' we bought a Ironstrike Montlake 300 wood burning insert with installation for 7200$. We were replacing a 20 year old insert. I wish I never set foot in the Fire House Stove Shop. Jeff lies. He said he could install it in 3 weeks. It took 2 months. He said he was at every instal and he never came once. He said his trucks were mobile machine shops. His people came unprepared and without even the basic tools, work gloves or a flashlight. The second crew actually barrow tools from me. They didn't even level the insert and left it an inch out from the wall. Jeff gave excuses of he had to go to the hospital, his high blood pressure, Covid manufacturing delays and blurred photos. The stove makes banging noises and has a flaw in the cast iron top. He won't even come look at it. His people just keep telling me that my claim has been denied because the photos are blurry. I've sent them by phone and computer. They are not blurry. Once he has your money there is ZERO support or communication. Once in a fit of anger he hung up on me. This is just the worst. Save yourself a hassle and go elsewhere. read more

The sale part of the process was fine. Now comes the bad part. We had them install the pellet stove and when I went to run the unit it would not work. So called them and was told someone would call me right back, hours went by, called back someone would call me back, still no call. Finally 7 hours later a call back. They can't figure out what is wrong they need to end someone. Ok, so they call and the tech will be there late in the day, so now two days of no heat, he comes, he was really good I have to say, he determines that the co tell board was loose and need to be reset. The stove is now working. Hi notes that they bent one leg on the install and that the flue pipe was not properly installed. He took pictures and said someone would reach out to me. No response. Now I try to connect the thermostat and this doesn't work either. I call, you know we will call back and nothing. Call again and again nothing. A days passes and finally talk to someone. He tries to troubleshoot over the phone but no result. They then say I need to go to the store and bring the old thermostat and get a new one. Now the store is over an hour away. Why do I need to go there when they sold me this defective product? Never again. Should have gone to the store down the street. read more

Well we went to the fire house stove shoppe because we knew where it was , we went in to look to convert or wood fire place to gas , no problem the "owner" Jeffery said and planned a time to come out a do a site visit , first a tech was supposed to come out but it turned out to be Jeffery, ok , but he was almost an hour late for a first thing in the morning slot . The rest of the visit was fine he said they would get back to us in short order . Well I have called three times after 2 months and nothing (well get the quote out by Friday) now another week and my wife calls going hey this is what's going o. What's up? They asked is your CC number this , yes here is your money back click , nothing more not how can we keep your business just take your money and leave us alone !!!. I would highly recommend going some where else very quickly as all you seem to get is the runaround, this is not the way to stay in business especially now . read more

I think the firehouse Stove shop Epping New Hampshire and Ipswich Massachusetts, has a conspiracy going on over the Christmas weekend they have all kinds of good reviews. Nothing could be further from the truth these people are as crooked as the day is long. Recently purchased a brand new stove spent $6,000 with this company. From day one it has not worked. They refuse to come and give me service set me home to be cold at the age of 75 and wife with underlined health issues. A customer overheard my conversation with the stove shop, which is only 5 minutes away from my house. The customer got my stove running for a short period of time. Save yourself a lot of grief do your research something I did not do. read more

Thank you Firehouse Stove shop! We recently got a pellet stove installed in our old home (build in 1880) we had a team member out for an inspection to see where would be the best place for the stove. When the two gentlemen came to install the stove they were clean and informative. While putting in the hole for the piping some of our old siding came off the outside of our house where the piping was coming out... I was worried it would look weird and before I asked if they could fix the area they already did! Diary of events: Delivered our propane gas stove insert to confirm it functioned and could be used (we changed to wood a few years back and decided to go back to gas). We were told we could not do this oursleves as it was necessary to use a higher pressure then a grill tank. Was told they could check it out within a few days! Just need piece of mind it was still in working condition. 3 weeks later.....we did follow up prior and was told they were getting to it...then received an urgent call that "demanded" we pick up the stove immediately. My husband took 1/2 day off from work to pick up the stove. At pick up was presented with a $150 bill and was told we could have checked it ourselves using a grill tank. SCAM or incompetence? Won't be doing business with these folks ever again. read more

We are building a house and went into Firehouse Stove Shoppe to browse their selection and get an estimate. Initially, a woman named Molly assisted us. She was very helpful, patient and friendly. The owner then came in and started asking us questions about the space, measurements, etc. We designed the house ourselves and the ceiling where the stove will sit is 12 feet high. No matter what we said to the man, he would not believe that the ceiling was that high. He said, "If the stove is in a corner, the ceiling cannot be 12 feet high". He then proceeded to walk over to the corner of the showroom to show us how high the ceiling was. Needless to say, we turned around and left. read more

I have had generally good interactions except for the owner who seems to have a real personality problem. Once I called for service and they sent a person to clean the stove but that seems to be the first step in the service plan. My interactions with sales and service staff have been great. My advice would be to deal with the staff members, including very friendly, flexible and accommodating service techs. I have not had the problems that other people have experienced. read more

Great Stove's to choose from. Vermont Castings is the very best! This Defiant heats most of my 3500 sq ft house! I chose to go without all the webbing design and it came out looking awesome! Amanda at the shop was great! The owner came out to do an inspection and fitting for $50.00. This was deducted from my purchase. Glad I did it! Although they tried to steer me away from the egg shell color I knew what worked in my house! It pretty much is the rock star with my friend and family! Also got a really good deal with them taking out a gas insert stove and line! Overall very very happy with my purchase! read more

Don't do it. Just don't. Don't buy anything here that might possibly, conceivably, remotely, require service because you won't get it. Oh, they'll pleasantly schedule a day to fix your pellet stove, and then not show (we're talking like half the time). They'll say they left you a message on your phone but it's February, 53 in your house (because, you know, it's WINTER and your stove is the HEATER and you've already waited a WEEK for this repair visit...) and they just don't come. Something about opening a new store and being really busy over there. WTF! Once they have your money, you don't matter. So do yourself a favor. Read the reviews and run for your life. I finally called The Stove Shoppe in Manchester and they got me in touch with an independent repair company. Seriously, this place doesn't even deserve one star... read more

Installation was never completed. They were supposed to pull a local permit and never did. We ended up doing it ourselves after three months of no response rom the Firehouse..even though we paid them to do it. Still haven't even gotten a call from Firehouse, much less the permit fee we had to pay twice. The building inspector told us we should add insulation in the chimney (Firehouse did not do this) to prevent heat lose and condensation in the chimney. Very disappointing. Stay away... although the staff and owner talks a good game, they are a ripoff. They will tell you that for $50 they come to your house and inspect your chimney only to never hear back from them once they come out. I guess $50 is worth more to them than a sale. The owner is a fraud! read more

We bought our Lennox pellet stove from Firehouse Stove Shoppe in Epping NH two years ago. They were very good at selling as they chopped the price down quite They did come a little late to install it (but only by a day or two). We starting having problems with the stove two weeks ago after firing it up for the heating season. I've called these guys 4 times over the past week for service. Each time I get 'a salesman', who apologizes and takes (another) message from me, promising a call back. CRICKETS!! Like a previous posters here, my experience is these guys do NOT respond for any service requests, either in warranty or out of warranty. Avoid these folks! There are plenty of other pellet stove sales and service businesses in the area that actually WANT your business. read more

We have a Regency Gas Fire Place which was installed by Fire House Stove Shoppe in 2012. Upon purchasing the home in 2014, the stove doesn't start properly and apparently the remote control is missing. So, we contacted Fire House Stove Stove Shoppe and made an appointment for 3 weeks later when I knew that I would available to have the person come in and look at it. This was done through the owner Jeff Horton. We were told that we would need at the minimum, a $300 remote control which I agreed to. Hey, I just want the thing to work properly and I know its going to cost some money. Jeff and I agreed upon a noontime arrival for he or his technician. So I took the day off..noontime came and went. I tried to call the Shoppe but no answer. 1 o'clock came and I decided that I wasn't going to call this guys cellphone and beg him to come over and fix the problem with the unit that they installed, for $300-$1000 or more of my money. The phone rang at 3:30 and it was Jeff apologizing and saying that they had a "Busy day for service calls, and someone was on the way". What am I chopped liver? I guess its same day appointments only and too bad for the guy who called three weeks earlier. I was so PO'ed that I ended the call before I said anything more. I have since contacted other area stove shoppes. One flat out refuses to work on anything that Firehouse installed; another is very honest about the fact that it will likely be expensive to fix the issues with this fireplace as it was likely not installed correctly. The bottom line is that I would rather freeze to death than to have Firehouse Stove Shoppe work on anything in my home, or waste a day waiting for a technician who isn't going to show anyway. I hope that this review helps someone else avoid these troubles. Good luck. read more
