I stopped by Firehouse Subs around lunchtime. There were a lot of employees working, but the environment felt chaotic and unorganized. The cashier was super pleasant though. I ordered a medium Engineer and made it a combo with chips and a drink. The sandwich itself was really good, but most of the drink selections were unavailable, which was disappointing. The dining area could have used a little love especially with the number of staff on hand. Went back today to give these guys a second chance since my first trip was AWFUL. Person working register both times didn't greet or act like they wanted to take my order. Just felt uneasy and unwelcome. No one smiled or even put the effort into saying hello/welcome ANYTHING. Wait time was super long both times despite no one else being in the restaurant. I liked this sub shop! We were visiting my stepdaughter and her family nearby and we usually get Jimmy John's subs as a lunch. Stepdaughter recommended Firehouse saying "their subs are so much fresher!" So, she pulled up the app on her phone, we ordered 3 subs and hopped into the car and within 15 minutes, the subs were waiting for us on the pickup "to go" shelf! The restaurant was clean, well-organized, and the staff were alert and available. The order was accurate, and the sub was extremely filling! I got the tuna, husband got turkey and provolone, and daughter (who is pescatarian) got a veggie sub. I added daughter's mustard to my sub, left the bread, and honestly was completely full in the early afternoon when we ate, until long past dinner! Thanks Firehouse! We will be back! read more

This Firehouse Subs is tucked away in the Brook Highland center on 280. You'll miss it if you don't already know it's here. Service here was exceptional and the workers were all super friendly. I ordered a large chicken parmesan meatball sub. It was huge! I added tomatoes, peppers, mushrooms, and olives to it. They did forget the mushrooms and olives in my order but were very quick to fix it once I mentioned it. The sub itself was alright, I might prefer regular meatballs over the chicken ones personally. But overall, this is a pretty good Firehouse you can count on. read more

I told him what happen, he goes and holla at the workers and ask if any of them forget to put my chill in the bag. Of course the children are not going to tell the true and all says NO. He comes back on the phone and states NONE of them said they didn't forget to add the chill to my order. Yeah RIGHT. So I tells him to just refund me for the chill that I DID NOT RECEIVE. Honey ham on an Italian? What kind of a psycho does this? I got an Italian sub for lunch today because I had heard they had the best Italian of all the sub restaurants. I'm not sure if mine was a whoopsie, but I had honey ham on my Italian sub. Italian subs are zesty, tangy, and salty subs. The honey ham completely not only ruined the sub, it made it completely inedible. I threw away half of my sub after trying to stomach the other half. I figured if I added some Olive Garden Italian dressing, lots of Parmesan cheese, and some Italian seasoning, it might overcompensate for the sickening sweetness of the honey ham, but it actually made it worse. I don't know. But not only is it unpalatable and completely inedible, that is still some of the most sickeningly sweet ham I've ever had. Go to Jersey Mikes, Subway, Publix deli and try those Italians and you can see what they're supposed to be. None of those are sweet. Yuck. I just thought I'd try something new but I guess I should've stuck with what I know. I don't think I'll ever eat here again. Like would you add both syrup and Italian dressing to a sub? I surely wouldn't. It was like someone added a gallon of golden eagle and a gallon of Italian dressing. That's just wrong. Use a savory ham like a normal person! read more

It's been hard recently to get good food or service almost anywhere. My wife and I were pleasantly surprised at Firehouse Subs last night. The steak and Cheese was far superior to Subway. I usually have a great experience at firehouse but this last visit will be the last time I visit this location. I entered the location and placed my order. I've ordered the same thing for over ten years. Club on a sub, fully loaded, no mayo, add honey mustard, with a combo. The employees were all engaged in a convo about work hours, working while in school, double shifts in comparison to Zaxby's and overtime. This conversation didn't bother me at all and a few of the points actually made me chuckle. I am only Mentioning the conversation because if they paid a fraction of this attention to my sandwich, this review would've been a lot better. My sandwich had an obscene about of lettuce, mayo and no honey mustard. I do not eat mayo and for a $10+ meal, the last thing I want to eat is something I don't want.. I didn't call and complain like I normally would, I just made a note to never visit this location again and to be mindful when employees are a bit distracted. read more

Sigh. I hate to write this, because I love Firehouse. I've never had trouble with this location before. My daughter and I picked up food last night. And I have to be honest, I really wish I could go back in time and throw my food in the trash instead of eating it. First let me say that my order was correct. So that's a win. It really goes downhill from there. The soda machine was disgusting. But I had been up since 4am and I wanted the caffeine more than I wanted the pay attention to how gross the machine was. We sat down to wait for our food. And omg once I started actually looking around........ Everything looked dirty. The floors, the walls, the tables. Like gas station men's bathroom level of dirty, not just they haven't had time to tidy up dirty. Someone's braid had fallen out, and it was just there laying in the floor. Already thinking in my head that Firehouse is now ruined for me and I won't be able to eat here again. But I had paid $20 and again, had been up since 4, so I was ready to eat dinner. My bread was stale, which has never happened before...just thought it was maybe toasted too long. And then here's where the fun really starts. Around midnight I was woken up out of a dead sleep with horrible stomach pain and cramps. You know where this is going. I'm still sick 12hrs later. I don't think I'm ever going to be able to eat Firehouse again. Which really sucks because my family LOVES it! read more

I've been coming to this firehouse location for a few years and I have always thought that the place was designed well for the amount of space they have. They have always been for the most part friendly and I've had a good service. I can say the same about this visit. They do have outside covered patio seating which is good thing considering the inside is limited. Their sandwiches are good for the most part. I've had the meatball sub but don't really care for it but no people that say it's their favorite. The hook and ladder has always been a favorite of mine. I do hate they got rid of the Sriracha Beef. I haven't experienced most of the complaints that I read another reviews. and they've always been consistent with my orders. The floor was a little dirty when I came in so I can't say that's not a point against them. I plan on seeing if that's a constant problem. I can give it a solid three stars for now and see if they can improve on the floor cleanliness because everything else is a solid four. read more

A close second favorite to Subway. This place although a little pricey has a great selection of sub sandwiches. The staff really shows they care about your sandwich and the customer in general. The place is also kept very clean. It rivals other sandwich places like jimmy johns and other chains that don't put a lot of stock in cleanliness. I have only been to my local Firehouse Sub once, and that was about two years ago but I look forward to returning soon...maybe even tonight. read more

First of all you notice how hot it is inside. My husband found the thermostat and it was 82 degrees. The floors are disgusting and dirty and watching the workers wipe their sweat while wearing the gloves they are preparing our food with wasn't pleasant either. My wife and I have been stopping by this Firehouse Subs location in Brook Highlands. Over the recent 6-9 months the quality and service has slowly diminished to the point of being completely unsatisfactory. The final straw was this past week. I ordered a large steak and cheese to go. First, my initial observation that several of the employees were not wearing face masks sort of put me off but then I noticed the employees were cutting up as if the place were a big playhouse that happened to serve food. Now to the sandwich. My wife initially commented how dry her half was and quite frankly I had already noticed that but did not say anything. I opened the sandwich up and no cheese - NONE! The meat was as dry as a bone, the bread was stale to the point that the ends were actually hard and we wound up throwing the thing into the trash. Now to the appearance of the place - the floor was filthy and the tables appeared to have crumbs left on them from previous diners. I'll never visit this location again if I ever visit another Firehouse Sub shop again. read more

I live in Brook highland and used to eat here once a month on my way home. The chicken salad sub was always my favorite and I would look forward to it. But they must have changed the recipe or something bc there was no chicken in the sub and all it was was nuts, green onions, and tomatoes- i even told them I did not want onions or tomatoes. There was no actual food on the sub at all, the cheese was not even on the sandwich. and it was ten dollars. The food was so bad I had to toss it in the trash can. Stay away from this branch. I've dined at Firehouse for years. Not this location though. I walked in and a couple of people yelled "welcome" them they went back to their business. I stood there and stood there and no one engaged me. I ordered finally and got the regular hook and ladder to go. SO back at the office I realize, the sandwich has about half the normal meat. there is 2 inches of empty bread on each end of the sandwich. I took the couple of bites of meat and threw the bun away. $7 wasted. - I might go to Firehouse again but not this one. read more

My boyfriend and I absolutely love firehouse. We use to go all the time where we are from. I wish I would have read the reviews before visiting this location because it was the WORST firehouse experience. The were out of the toppings I wanted on my sandwich (sautéed mushrooms), they were out of ice and tea and wouldn't do anything about it, there were bugs on the counter, out of sauce and wouldn't put more out, trash cans were over flowing into the floor and just laughed about it, asked for no lettuce, and guess what...I had to get them to remake my sandwich. The staff are all so young and don't take having a job seriously. It took 5 minutes for them to stop throwing things and come take our order. They did nothing but play around the entire time. Management obviously has a problem here. Need some authority in there. Absolutely will NOT be going back here. I'll gladly drive out of my way to get better. read more

Been to this Firehouse Subs several times with coworkers because I'm located in the surrounding area and always loved the food. But the times I've been this year have gotten worse and worse. It's usually something messed up with the drink machine or slow service. Which is nothing too bad. But I went for a sandwich with my husband the other night and the store was disgusting. Floors not been touched all day and tables covered with crumbs. The food was relatively good. But in the middle of my sandwich the (what seemed to be the manager) of the store came in from the back REEKING of pot. After he came in and laughed with the boys behind the counter another one walked out back as well. And too good to be true he came back in stinking. Personally, I like the beef and cheddar brisket. However, my aunt likes the club on a sub, which is really good, too. The location is odd because it's on the corner of the shopping center but you can't miss it because you pass it on your way out. We ordered a large drink with our sub. I noticed the cup seemed small. I looked at my ticket to see what size I had been billed for, it was a med. I went to get a med. lid and it was to big. A small lid fit. They only had one small lid in the tray so I suggested he add more. Also, I told him that I was charged for a med but got a small. His reply: most people like that size better. He offered to give me a different cup. Then he told me all the drinks were the same price. Your menu clearly shows a different price for small, med, and large. read more

This location is clearly ran by high school kids the oldest worker maybe being 20, good thing they don't serve alcohol, with one of them being so fat I'm sure he eats the rest of the meat off of your sandwich, since there is clearly less meat than any other location puts on it. He comes out wearing 12 inch muck boots, clearly he comes to work prepared for the bullshit they tell the customers about why your food looks so disgusting. They stood around joking and playing on their cell phones, with one of the workers putting his head under the free style fountain to fill his gut with more soda, possibly not to waste a cup? They have made 4 different party's food sine I've been sitting here eating and have still yet to put on any gloves.
