They forgot to give me but they want to see a receipt from two days ago about some hashbrowns that they forgot to put in the bag. We had dinner here on New Years Eve. We went inside to eat. We placed our order at the counter. I wanted the grilled chicken sandwich but was told it would take 7 minutes so I decided to get a burger instead. I appreciated the heads up. Our food was brought out to us and everything was hot and tasted great. Even our special order was correct. The restaurant looked clean and a gentleman was cleaning up the floors while we were there. Whataburger has decent quality food for fast food, but the repeatedly terrible speed and service have made it a non-starter for me. Too many times at all hours of the day or evening, I have waited to order or to get my food. I tried again one more time yesterday at 12:45 on a Saturday afternoon. When I pulled up to the drive-thru, there were five cars in line ahead of me (3 at the window, 2 waiting to order). The first car waiting to order moved up after 4-5 minutes and then we waited another 10(!) minutes before they took the order from the car in front in me. I was there to get 7 burgers for workers at my house and wondered if it took that long to offer, how long would it take to get my food??? So I followed the car in front of me when he pulled forward, left the line, and went to a local burger place (Hamburger Heaven) with better burgers and MUCH better service. Ordered and got my 7 burgers and fries in 5 minutes total! I have no idea why Whataburger has such a great reputation in Texas and out West, but surely it isn't like this there. I want to make it very clear, that those stars above are for customer service alone. We went for breakfast in the drive thru and the woman who took my order was so friendly like a breath of fresh air. Unfournately that's where it stops. I got two honey butter chicken biscuit combos, they were both cold but one of them had a literal chicken nugget of chicken on it. It was sad to say the least. It was also served with fries. One thing i love about whataburger breakfast is the hasbrown sticks, i wouldn't have even considered asking for them as they normally come standard. Unless everyone else in line could have possibly ordered a burger and then were all cooked to order, the wait was too long. I won't be visiting this location again anytime soon read more

Whatadisaster! I have eaten at Wataburger all over, and know the food and service at those locations was top notch and if they missed it was not by much. However this location is not close to a minor miss it's so far off I almost walked out and that was after I paid for a $28 meal. I asked and tried to get the attention of two managers and they walked away so as to not be bothered and they saw and heard me. Trust me I am not quiet and not small in stature. They saw and turned and walked off. My wife even did the same and got the same treatment. "HOW RUDE" It took over 20min to get our order and I k ow from experience that cooked fresh is great and when other locations take some time to get an order together it can take a hot minute. But this place 20min for burgers, and only a total of 4 customers in the whole place. Then the customers who ordered AFTER US got their food before us. WHATADISASTER! COME ON! read more

I was surprised the doors were open before sunrise when I stopped! It took awhile before someone noticed me. I used that time to just listen to the staff talk amongst themselves. It was all personal conversations so no trade secrets shared. Lol. The unit was extremely clean, organized and containers all full. I was warmly welcomed when finally noticed. I think they were relieved I was just standing there and not up to any nefarious activity. I made an order and everything was freshly prepared immediately. Within minutes my order was ready. Enter the lobby, waited, waited, waited and they know that I am there because they seen me when I enter, After waiting about good 7 or 10 min, this young comes from outside, with a broom in his hand and ask if he could help. I said yes but I really need to speak with a manager. So he goes in the back and tells this girl, Destiny, who stated she was a manager. She takes her time coming out. Waited another 5 to 8 mins. She wasn't pleasant, yes, may I help you. I tell my reason for being there and she immediately cuts me off and ask "you called earlier today about your food". I said yes, then she says oh the manager, Jennifer Pitre said there was nothing wrong with your food because she worked last night and prepared your order. And you will NOT get your money back. Now how in the world is she going to tell me the trash she gave me was OK for me? Please answer this question. Did she prepare the food and handle the money at the same time? So the service in the inside of this place horrible. So I'm taking the trip back from Memphis and when I say the inside service was horrible no compassion Torrance didn't even acknowledge me I stood there for 4 minutes but as a human trying to grab fast food thats was already to long for me. Visited this location last night just after midnight. Probably 5 cars ahead of me in the drive thru. Pulled up to the speaker and received a bit of attitude when I was told to wait to order. Placed my order and proceeded to wait over 25 minutes to pull up to the window to pay. Took the person at the window over 4 minutes to even open the window and collect my payment after walking over to the window multiple times and looking at me each time. Took about 7-8 minutes total to receive my order after pulling up to the window which puts my visit at almost 35 minutes total in the drive thru. Not sure if they had training going on or what but noticed there was 5-7 employees just chilling in the lobby when I arrived and when I was pulling out. read more

I went in to Whataburger on 280 to order take out. I was with my friend and we ordered bacon cheeseburger meals. The wait was about 10 minutes and everyone that interacted with us were nice and courteous. The cashier did have on a mask when taking our order, but no one else in the store did. The store was pretty small in size and there weren't many people inside. However it was very clean, organized, and there was music playing so the ambiance was nice. I didn't see any social distancing signs in the store or on the front doors. However, I did notice one hand sanitizer dispenser by the drink station to make sure hands are clean before touching things at the drink station. We received our order in two separate brown paper bags and those were in a large plastic bag. We didn't receive any plastic utensils and a worker asked if we needed any condiments before putting them in the bag and potentially wasting them. There weren't any separate bins for throwing away paper or plastic, maybe because many people don't come into the store to order or eat. I went around 10 PM, while on my break since its the only enjoyable fast food place open past 9 on 280 close to my job. I went to the drive thru, the line was about 5 cars long but the wait was quick, the food was hot and fresh. When I got to the speaker, I was not ready to order so the lady asked if I minded if she helped the other lane while I decided which I thought was a nice gesture. The gentleman at the 2nd window (the 1st was closed) took my payment and made sure that I had all my sauces for my meal (9 piece nuggets combo), he had a welcoming attitude and it was just a great experience overall. My food came in a box container which I thought was nice instead of plastic. As for COVID safety, as far as I could tell, everyone was wearing a mask, the gentleman at the window wore gloves and a mask. I ordered a patty melt meal with a medium fry and a small Dr. Pepper shake as a substitute for the drink. It took about 15 minutes total to get my food from the drive-through, which is generally the quickest you'll get your food from this location, though I've never minded the long waiting times. The patty melt itself was delicious, though it weighs in at around 1000 calories, which is excessive even for the size of the sandwich. The fries are fairly average; they taste similar to McDonald's fries, but lack their level of savoriness. Whataburger's spicy ketchup usually makes up for the fries' shortcoming, but I did not receive any with my order this time, despite asking. The milkshake did not taste much at all like Dr. Pepper, though it was very good nonetheless. Their milkshakes are very large and dense, so even a small shake takes a lot of effort to get though. I would have preferred if the milkshakes were served in something more environmentally-friendly than Styrofoam, which is a major contributor to microplastics in the ocean. When I looked through the drive-through window, all the staff were wearing masks and plastic gloves. There was also a flyer taped to the window detailing other measures Whataburger was taking to prevent the spread of Covid-19, such as requiring employees to double-wash their hands, and change their gloves every thirty minutes. Whataburger originated in Texas, and over 80% of its restaurants are located within Texas. So it's not a surprise that they follow the idea of "Everything's bigger in Texas" when it comes to portion sizes. Most of the burgers here are over 1000 calories and take two hands to eat, and the 'medium' drinks are 32 ounces. Don't be surprised if you order a large drink and need two hands to hold it. read more
