I took my mama there that same weekend and the rest is history.. The whole family was hooked. I live out of state, but my mom and son, in Springfield, frequent this place on special days out. They share a birthday, April 9th, and were having a birthday lunch there this afternoon, when I got the idea to call the restaurant to ask if there was any way I could provide a card to cover their lunch, since you pay at the end. I was greeted and helped by the kindest woman, Alicia. She found them, about to leave, and hurried to take my info! She was lovely in the sincerest way. I gave her my phone number if there were any issues. Well, there were, as my lovely mom perused their delightful gift shop area (think Cracker Barrel but better) so long the pre-auth expired and my card declined! LOL HAPPY BIRTHDAY GUYS The girl who called back to get things squared away was just as darling as could be, I'm sorry I didn't get your name, but thank you. Thanks to all of you for your help :) As for the food, my son said: "incredible, as usual." 5 million star experience every time! The meat and 3 concept is a dying art that they have mastered.

Portions are generous, everything feels fresh and comforting, and it's consistently done well. We've eaten here in person and grabbed it to go on busy nights, and it holds up every time. Our personal favorites are the chicken, pot roast, and meatloaf, all hearty, flavorful, and exactly what you want when you're craving a solid comfort meal. One of the things I love most about this place is that it truly feels like "come as you are." There's no single type of crowd here. You'll see families, business meetings, date nights, people dressed up, people dressed casually, groups of two, groups of four, and even three generations sitting together. It works before or after church, after school, after soccer games, or after work. No judgment, no pressure, just people showing up for great food and a great environment. What really stands out is how respectful and welcoming everyone is. Whether it's a toddler learning to eat, someone needing a little extra space, or a busy group navigating a crowded moment, people are patient, kind, and considerate of one another. The staff and guests alike create an atmosphere that genuinely embodies Southern hospitality. What also makes this place special is how much thought has gone into the overall experience. While you're waiting in line, there are fun and unique extras to browse like recipe books, aprons, and thoughtful items for kids. Nothing feels like filler. It all adds to how warm and homey the space feels for locals and visitors alike. And then there's the dessert area, which deserves its own mention. There's an entire cake station behind a large glass case filled with massive, handmade-from-scratch cakes. You can grab slices, order whole cakes in advance, and even place special holiday dessert orders. It's decadent, impressive, and very hard to walk past without stopping. Even when it's incredibly busy, the team is friendly, efficient, and well organized. Whether dining inside, outside, or picking up food to go, the experience is always smooth and welcoming. Included are a few photos from the first time we ate there in person outside, though we've been back many times since. Shown here are the meatloaf with mashed potatoes and gravy and a roll and the roasted chicken with green beans and rosemary roasted potatoes for reference.

The muffuletta was a solid sandwich and really big. The potato salad was yummy. It looked to mayonnaise heavy, but it was flavorful and satisfying. The cannoli wasn't my fav, but it was fine. The shell was a little too hard, and it wasn't filled in the middle. Each item in the order was wrapped and taped separately. Then, the brown paper bag was stapled shut and a large sticker was taped over the bag's opening. It would have been very obvious if someone tampered with the bag. I really liked all the care they put into packaging everything. Overall, a good experience, and I'd go back.

The grits were so hearty and buttery, and the shrimp had a good amount of spice. We also got the sweet potato chorizo hash, which had the perfect amount of slight heat and special spice blend. (The spices looked red, but I don't know what they were other than paprika??) Both dishes came with biscuits, generously buttered. We were told the biscuits and gravy were special, because the chef does a brown gravy instead of the white gravy. We felt like we had enough food, but if I am ever back in town, I'd try this dish. I work in restaurants and this makes it high risk for mistakes. When "our" order was ready, she made direct eye contact with us beckoned us over to pay. It wasn't until after we made it out and home we realized it was the wrong order. There is certainly a gap in training because another individual was taking and calling out names for orders. What I received was somewhat similar to my order but extremely plain and lacking. (No offense to the person who originally made this order.) We also believed it would come out in order so we were called forward shortly after the people who were in front of us checked out. The ambiance is decent, the restaurant is cluttered and the ordering system is poor. The outside of the restaurant has two different signs and entrances/exits. I heard multiple people in line confused about this choice as well. My suggestion to ownership would be to make one entrance an exit only to avoid new customer confusion and streamline the ordering process. The bagel I received was tasty, but fell extremely flat because it was plain on the inside. Again, I received the wrong order so it wasn't at all what I was expecting. I would like to give this place another try and hopefully I receive someone else to take our order.

First off, plenty of parking. Bonus. When you walk into the store, everything smells clean and fresh. The grocery section is well organized. The produce section is overflowing with fresh veggies that are well-priced. You can find most everything you are looking for at a grocery store. In the back of the store, they have a deli and a little taco shop. There are tables and chairs, so you can eat there or take your food to go. My husband got two Quesabirria Tacos and a side of rice and beans. I ordered three street-style tacos: Carnitas, Barbaco and Pescado, which was grilled. I also ordered a side of plantains. Throw in a bottle of water and the total bill was $31. There was so much food that I had to take the rice and beans, 2 tacos and my plantains home. I just could not eat any more! They have housemade salsa that they sell in pint containers. The Salsa Verde was so delicious that I have been putting it on all my food this past week. It's spicy but not overpowering. I'm going back just to get more of that salsa! Reading the comments from the Instragram post, people told the IG poster not to give away locals' secrets. This definitely is a hidden gem!
