I would give zero stars if Yelp would let me. Placed an online order and arrived an hour later as scheduled by their app. Long story short, waited another 20 minutes. One would think that if an order is already 20 minutes late, all of the employees would have stayed behind the counter and finish the order as quickly as possible. Nope. Three of them started walking around instead. If this is their version of good service, I would say that this crew is one notch below useless as they move slower than a slug on a salt flat on an August afternoon. Worst part is I spent a couple of minutes signing up for their awards program. Hint: not going to waste any time ordering from here again. You are much better off going to Jersey Mike's. The name of this chain was familiar, but since I don't recall having any nearby, I never ate at one. That all changed once a site opened up in the Greensburg area. I am glad they advertised themselves because it sort of snuck into the plaza a bit unnoticed. It sits along a stretch of 30 that is away from the main hub of activity. Thanks to a recently mailed coupon to the home address offering a free sub, I was made aware of this new establishment and went for my first visit. Upon entering, I was greeted with a boldly proclaimed "Welcome to Firehouse!!!! I am not sure where this marketing idea originated, or why, but I am not so sure it works for me. Several other businesses approach in-coming customers this way as well. I am not in favor of drawing attention to myself just for simply opening a door and entering. I like things a bit more low-key, especially when visiting a place for the first time. I was a little startled at first but soon became very interested in my surroundings. The décor and premise for the sub shop is centered on firefighters, firehouses, and all the dialog that goes along with it. Nicely done! The ordering process was quick and easy. The menu is posted on the wall behind the counter and they have an easier to read version along the ordering counter as you wait in line. There are 10 hot specialty subs, 6 healthy, low calorie subs, and 4 types of salads, Customers can choose the option of creating your own sub sandwich. Kid combo meals are also available. Make sure you ask for a free firefighters hat. Most of the kids I encountered were proudly wearing them as they ate their meals. I am not a big fan of Firehouse. Their subs are very pricey for what you get. The staff is really hit and miss. I have had amazing service and "ask for a manager" kind of service. Bathroom is usually filthy. I'm not sure if it's due to understaffing or horrible guests. If you have never had it. Try it but don't set your hopes to high. read more

Have been to this location a few times. Really like the staff there as they are very friendly. Also really enjoy their subs. If I had to choose between coming here or a subway, firehouse would get my vote every time. Really love the quality of their meats and cheeses they use. Having kids, I also really appreciate their free kids dinner days. All of my children love coming here and love getting their fire hat! Since they donate a lot of their proceeds and charity collections to local firemen and other service workers, I would patronize them simply for that reason. This review should have been posted earlier (August 5th to be exact) and I apologize for my tardiness. We ordered subs for a luncheon after a memorial. We ordered a specific sub-my Pa's favorite. He'd get his special sub every time when we'd fish, when he'd hunt...it was his treat. He was an amazing man. A Vietnam vet, a husband, a father, a grandfather, a friend. He loved simple things. Nature was his favorite. We placed our order. We stated a time. The honor guard was going to be at the memorial prior to y'all opening and technically we'd be your first order. That didn't matter...y'all showed up early....the owner of the establishment delivered the subs thanking us for being a part of the memorial. What an amazing thing to do on a day of complete emotional turmoil. The plan was to have lunch off site from the memorial...but we ended up having it exactly where we were meant to...at the memorial. Like a simple picnic...just like my Pa would have wanted. It was beautiful. Thank you for showing up and filling our order without any stress. The subs were amazing. The day was beautiful. I wanted to like this place. I really did. But everything was wrong . It started when I walked in. Nobody even said hello--they were busy greeting the people who came in after I did and explaining the menu to them. It's not that I expect restaurant staff to act like I'm their long lost twin sister. But I do expect to be treated as well as the other patrons. The sandwich, when I finally got served, was ok. This is my favorite sub fast food/ restaurant in the Greensburg / Greater Pittsburgh region! They make consistent subs filled with flavor - you truly cannot go wrong. This popular franchise recently opened a restaurant near Greensburg. They are located in strip mall, near the Verizon store and Pier One going west on Route 30. Through word of mouth, I heard that the subs are the best and loaded up with all the goodies. Italian subs are my favorite and I think I have tried about every local Italian sub locally available. So, on this cold, frigid Sunday, we thought a couple of subs would be perfect to eat while watching the Steeler playoff game. The place was busy with a lot of people having the same idea. We didn't have to wait too long to place our take-out order. There is a lot of seating space with nice, clean tables and chairs if one wants to eat there. The decor goes with the firehouse theme. The menu has plenty of options to choose from, plus you can order your own creation of fixings. I ordered the large Italian, while hubs chose the large Firehouse Meatball with the sweet and spicy meatball. We definitely should have chosen mediums. The subs came loaded up with a good bit of meat. Some establishments skimp on the meats and load the lettuce, tomato, etc. Firehouse Subs gives you a sub worth the price. Customers may choose to order a "combo" which get you a 12oz drink and choice of cookie or chips. some of the other varieties to be ordered are the turkey and ham know as the Hook and Ladder, Turkey Bacon Ranch, Firehouse hero (roast beef, turkey breast, ham, provolone) and many more. Healthy options are Chicken Salad, Sriracha Beef, Turkey Cranberry subs, plus chopped salads are available. One more thing to know is that when you pay, you are given the option to roundup your amount and the difference is given to charity. I know we will be returning to try another item. I had visited one of these places in North Carolina a few years ago, and was super excited when I heard we were getting one. So far, I've enjoyed it. Nice selection of subs, and I like that they steam the sub instead of toasting it. It results in the bread being warmed but not hard/toasted. This place is a great alternative to Subway. Other perks include the fact that they gave the awesome Coke machine which features lots of low-no calorie drink options. Additionally, the 20% discount for students is awesome. Seating situations are limited, but I've always found seating when I have gone. It's a small place. Service is average. Employees don't always seem to be super warm or welcoming. I'll keep going back for the subs, though. read more

When firehouse subs first opened in Greensburg it left me with a bad taste in my mouth....I went in to get a brisket sub and it took a half an hour to make it...I said I wouldn't go in again...I went a year later and it still took my entire lunch break just to get a sub....two years later I decided last shot I'm gonna give and let's find out...first I was recommended a Italian sub from the menu and it was amazing it had pepperoni honey ham and I believe a salami with lettuce tomato onions and a awesome pickle on the side with an Italian dressing that was awesome it was tasty and zesty! The bun was a white bread bun that was steamed with the rest of the sub which all together had a phenomenal taste and the combo of the honey ham and the Italian meats is a taste like no other it was leaving me wanting more so of course I got more! The next day my girlfriend and I went back and she got the hook and ladder and she said she loved it which is pretty epic coming from her she doesn't usually like subs since subway is more of a letdown anymore she was loving the sandwich and of course I got another Italian but I can't wait to try more next up a New York steamer.... read more
