Beef & Cheddar Sandwich with a side of Smoked Mac n Cheese

I drive by this restaurant many times and finally stopped to enjoy a late lunch. We had sandwiches and a delicious smoked Mac n cheese- excellent smoke flavor! The brisket was tender and delicious homemade pickles. Since we were here midafternoon, there were two other takeout customers, so their staff was very attentive and pleasant. I look forward to the next time I am craving brisket.

Always so happy with the food and service from Pit Take. When you eat here, you are directly supporting two BBQ experts. My favorite is their BBQ sundae, but they have a nice variety.

It's always good to find a bbq joint, but it's even better when you leave full and not disappointed. I got the beef and cheddar with pit beans. The pit beans were tasty but tasted more like a chili to me. It's still good. The sandwich was delicious. The brisket was lean but still had a little fat and lots of flavor. Their mayo had a nice tang, and the cheddar was ok, but their kc bbq sauce was fabulous. It had a slight sweetness, but it wasn't just a typical brown sugar sweetness. I'm not sure what it was, but it's very good. It's worth every penny i spent, and the owners were very friendly and chatted some with me while i was there.

Great mom and pop bbq spot. I had the brisket and the pork. Perfect mix of fat, tender and bursting with flavour. Bark on the brisket was delicious although personally I usually prefer the bark to be a bit harder. The beans had a nice kick to them and the slaw was crisp and light on the mayo. Cornbread was fantastic with a nice honey drizzle. Atmosphere was a delightful homage to jazz and despite my personal ignorance of the subject it was clear the owner follows their deep passions and have made something wonderful. Highly recommend.

My 3rd visit since they opened and it has yet to disappoint. A new BBQ establishment is always a reason to celebrate, and even more so in this area of town. Unfortunately, their grand opening coincided with the pandemic outbreak which certainly threw them into the beginning stages of a business unlike no other. Business appears to be managing along nicely, and they have taken all the necessary precautions to keep it moving in a safe manner. The offers featured throughout the week are inviting, and help promote their place. In time, their indoor, and outdoor seating arrangements will become available. BYOB will be another treat to behold. Until then, they pack up a nice take -home order to enjoy. Very filling, nice menu options, and very friendly service.

I intentionally scheduled it for a Tuesday because we pulled the whole thing together at the last minute and wanted to maximize my potential to find a caterer. He let me know up front that the last -second thing would be tough but he graciously accepted the challenge. Throughout the experience he communicated well and often to ensure that expectations were met on both sides. The day of the event they showed up on time and fully stocked. I was busy orchestrating the picnic events, but the response from our membership was positive regarding the quality of the meals they received. I'm somewhat of BBQ snob because I make some good stuff myself at home, but Tin Shack's food didn't disappoint me either. They'll be my first choice for my next event. And yes, if I knew he was at a brewery within a 30 minute drive of my location I'd gladly make the trip for their food and a beer. My rating scale: 1 - Just don't 2 - You'll survive, but there are better choices close by 3 - Good choice if you're in the area 4 - I'd drive 30 minutes out of my way just to come here 5 - I'd try to convince my wife to drive an hour just to come here

Also he was harassing her on the phone days after stating that he hopes she isnt happy and her family are pigs and etc. I honestly do not recommend this place. The owner made a full out issue on a brides best day. And is now having his employees posting good reviews for him after the receptiorece no stars for me. Busy intersection, no windows, and a front door that doesn't work... but don't let that fool you. Entering through the patio entrance, the outdoor seating is an oasis somehow perfectly separated from the busyness just beyond the sidewalk. We opted to sit inside on a humid day.. simple but fitting! The menu is only tapas, but the small plates don't contain small flavors!! We love to split tapas with friends, so we ordered a table load and went all in. We selected: - Street Corn Dip - no notes. Gooey, well seasoned, and plenty of fresh corn! Abundance of chips, more than enough! - Bruschetta Flatbread - every available inch covered in fresh tomato, lacking in the balsamic glaze, but still a fresh, refreshing bite. Honestly, this is a huge tapas, 8 pieces and easily a meal on its own - Headkeeper Toothpicks - THESE ARE THE SHOWSTOPPER!! Clever concept, perfectly executed! Crispy tortilla wraps loaded with chicken, peppers, onions, and gouda. And DOUBLE dips!! - Banh Mi Eggrolls - large tapa with a big eggroll for all four of us. Crammed full of toppings and well seasoned - Balsamic Marinated Grilled Vegetables - great variety, one of each veggie, but a little too much oily sauce (Pro Tip - we cut these up and put them on top of the bruschetta - perfectly paired!!) - Cauliflower - large portion, almost half of a head of cauliflower, dripping with truffle oil, but soooo tender to eat - Jumbo Lump Crab Cakes - only 2, but packed with crab and delicious sweet-chili & coconut-lime sauce! - Lo Mein Bowl - another tapa that could be a full meal, tender beef, but the seasoning was just off for us And of course... DESSERT! Thankful to go on a double date where one from each couple wants to split desserts too. Why not try the best part of the menu too? Vanilla Crème Brulee - a perfect sweet blend of vanilla and custard with a scrumptious layer of brûlée Strawberry Scooter Crunch Cheesecake - decadent swirls of strawberry through the cheesecake and a crisp layer of scooter crunch all over Tell you what! The sauces and pairings show how ingenious this culinary team is... and looking at reviews, the menu rotates and I'll have to try some of the fun items that I've seen from other seasons!

Our waitress was super great and gave us some ideas on what to order since it was our first visit. Ended up getting the Good Burger and a side of their spaghetti with marinara. The burger fixins were similar to the Golden Arch namesake double burger but soooooo much more meat. It was so ridiculously huge with two patties of burger stacked an inch plus thick that I took one burger off to eat later. The burger with pickles and sauce were just right and plenty of diced tomatoes and lettuce offered some respite from the meat extravaganza. It was a good burger for sure. The marinara on the spaghetti is a little watery but absolutely delicious. I really liked the flavors. This is a nice local place with tons of PA beers on tap.
