There are a few tables for dining in, but I chose to take my order home. I ordered a small Cevapi and Sirnica, plus picked up some Croatian chocolate for dessert. The Cevapi were delicious skinless beef and veal sausages, that were nicely savory and well browned. A cup of chopped onions, and what I think was a yogurt sauce came with my Cevapi which added more flavor and an overall goodness to the Cevapi. A bread similar to a pita made eating Cevapi easy, and filling. The Sirnica was equally delicious. A wonderful mix of flaky, chewy phyllo pastry, and cheese baked inside the pastry. It definitely hit the spot with a nice balance of a light pastry and mild cheese. I ate the leftover half cold, and it was just as good! The lady at the counter was friendly, and patient with me. The menu is truly a deli menu full of sandwiches, salads, and appetizers. If you're wanting to go for the House Specials, you won't be disappointed!

My mom was disappointed that the "greens" were actually chopped romaine and/or iceberg. The gyro meat was flavorful and had a nice crisp to the outside and the homemade dressing was delicious. The Italian was also decent. I'm picky when it comes to hoagie rolls and this baguette was soft and fresh. I typically prefer more of a crisp exterior, but this was fine. The meat and toppings were fresh and the sandwich was served with a small bag of Lay's on the side. Overall, we had a nice experience dining in the small deli, but with so many options in the Pittsburgh area, I can't say we were wowed enough to be repeat customers.

It sits between houses in a neighborhood in North Apollo. I walked in to about 6 customers waiting for hoagies and two workers making the sandwiches. I was asked if I called ahead, which I had not. I waited for about 10 minutes to get through the orders and to my turn. There are two sizes, small and large. Small hoagies were in the $4 range. Large hoagies were in the $5 range. I ended up going with a large regular. It was like an Italian Hoagie. It ran me $5.45. The hoagie was fine, but was more like something you would buy from a kid as a fundraiser. Again, not bad at all, but nothing great either.

I have been coming to Danny's for the past few years, as it is fairly close to my house. It is a…read moregreat spot for a quick slice of pizza, hoagie, or salad that I find myself coming back to regularly. Danny's is located on 88/Library Road in Bethel Park, just a little ways down the road from South Park. There is plenty of signage to easily identify it from the road. The storefront faces Library, but the entrance is on the side of the building that faces the parking lot. It shares a parking lot with Aldi, and the spaces that are more-so near the road are marked specifically for Danny's customers. I have personally never had an issue finding parking somewhere in the large lot, though sometimes it can be more congested if Aldi is busy. The building is small, but has some seating inside. There are no big tables - just a few booths and some bar-type seats. It is counter service, and the seating is self-serve. On this particular day, I stopped to grab a few items for a quick lunch. It was a Wednesday in July, just after noon. There was a sizable lunchtime crowd both ordering and dining in, but I did not have to wait long to put my order in or be served. My longest wait here has probably been only about 15 or so minutes. They usually have orders up quickly, and today was no different. The employees were friendly and I had no issues with customer service. I took my order to-go. I ordered a Steak Salad, which is packed with meat and cheese. I can usually get two meals from a salad, but find it hard to do so because it is so good that I want to eat it all. The base is Iceberg Lettuce, which I prefer, but I know some people would not. The Ranch Dressing is also very good, and I believe it is homemade. They give a generous amount of dressing for the size the salad is. My fiance ordered a Whole Italian Hoagie. They have a wide variety of hoagies, and they can be ordered in half or whole sizes. This hoagie is one of my fiance's favorites in the whole city. It is a great size, always hot with the cheese melted, and just cooked to perfection. We love ordering this each time we come to Danny's! The value is good here - they have a lot of different types of pizza that can be ordered in small, medium, large, or tray sizes. For the square cut Sicilian, you can order a tray or individual slices. So, there is really something pizza-wise within anyone's budget. I also find that the salads are a great value for the price, with a full portion being $9. You definitely get a great value for what you are paying for anything on the menu. My only critique of Danny's is the limited hours. Sometimes, they will be closed randomly, which is expected with a small business. However, they are only open until 8 PM Wednesday through Saturday, and then until 5 PM on Sunday. I have often wanted to get food from here, but could not due to the earlier closing time for a pizza place. However, it is worth trying to come within their hours of operation. Overall, I would recommend stopping at Danny's the next time you are in the South Hills! The food is fresh and delicious, and there is something for everyone - from pizza, to hoagies, salads, and much more. There is a reason this place has been in operation for over 65 years, and you will not be disappointed when you come to try it!

If you grew up here you know that hoagies are heated- the meat is warm, the cheese is melted and you need just the right roll, a little crispy on the outside and soft inside. I'll probably get in trouble for this one but -Philly folks call it a grinder when they heat up hoagies and I have to say not as much time and thought is usually put into the actual sandwich construction, so I usually steer clear. Lol. We ordered Italian and turkey hoagies, wings and pizza and a salad for a vegan friend. Everything was great and our Philly friends were impressed.
