We went in on lunch break today to pick up to go orders for coworkers. I haven't had Firehouse in years so was excited to try it again. This was a terrible customer service experience. I realized we needed to order a another bag of chips so I went to the register to pay. There were 3 gentlemen working and talking and looking at me and I stood there for over 5 mins with not one acknowledging me. I finally asked if someone could ring up my order. The gentlemen came over and said " well u could have just paid at the kiosk" He was rude and even my coworker was like..what is he upset about? As a worker, if you see someone standing at the register for a long time , maybe just ask if they need something or direct them to the kiosks rather than continuing your personal conversations and ignoring the customer. I tried this store 3 times lol. Sigh. The first time a girl was slamming things around fussing at the manager talking crazy to him it was really stressful I had to leave and come back inside. The second time they forgot the cheese to my sandwich. And this time I was so sick I ordered uber and spent 40$ on two subs and got a sub with no sauce. Just meatballs and the wrong cookies. I can't even get uber to refund me for the wrong cookies! I ordered double chocolate chip and got chocolate chip which I don't like. Literally worst. 0 stars. Ordered online through the app for an easy pick up. I walked into the restaurant and I was greeted upon entrance into the building. The staff is courteous and friendly. Well to start with the girl who was taking the order kept telling me what I didn't want (example: extra toasty will be burnt) among other things. Annoying but ok. Then the girl making sandwiches messed up both orders (didn't put toppings on one that was requested, the other got Italian seasoning dumped all over it when it wasn't asked for AT ALL. We use to frequent this place a bit it's not far from my house, it's usually great service and quality but this one was a total disappointment. It's a beautiful Saturday afternoon so I decide to go grab a sub to relax at home. Let's start with the location is DIRTY!! There was a tied up clear trash bag on in the middle of the floor behind the register. The floor in the entire restaurant dirty; not just from a day of foot traffic. The soda machine looked like build up was on it for months. The countertop where they are prepping the sandwiches let's just say hippie you're not allergic to anything cause there is no wiping down and a whole lot of cross contamination with meat and veggies. The APP NEVER WORKS! I don't know if it's just this location but this is the location I go to and it's always a problem. If I'm going to pay inflated prices for my stupid sandwiches I at least want to earn rewards. See attached photos, small sandwich is 5.29 on their app but 6.90 to order on Yelp (don't remember if it's door dash or grub hub). I ordered for PICKUP not even delivery so not sure why the price is inflated. I tried to call to place my order so I could get accurate pricing but the phone answers to a recording that tells you you can only order online and the easiest way is to use the app, which doesn't work. The most annoying part is I left special instructions on my order for extra mayo, oil and vinegar, and salt and pepper. Clearly my special request did not show up to the sandwich makers because they were not printed on my receipt. So I wasted 30 mins and $8 on a tiny sad sandwich that wasn't even made the way I like. I really hope a manager or franchise owner at this location sees this review because firehouse are my favorite subs but this shit is pissing me off and I'm about to stop ordering for these reasons. I support our first responders. And so, I support Firehouse Subs too where a portion of every purchase goes to a foundation that provides lifesaving equipment to our first responders. However, the Smokehouse Beef and Cheddar Brisket sub that I ordered to go a couple of days ago was not something I would support or at least the guy who prepared my order. For one, it only had the beef brisket and was missing the 'cheddar' part. Where's the cheese??? Also, it had too much BBQ sauce that was overpowering that even my daughter who had half of my sandwhich only took a few bites then put the rest away. read more

I have had Firehouse many many times over the years and I forget how much I enjoy their meatball sub. I also forget how giant their subs are! Hubby is laid up, so dad ordered and picked up for us at our local shop- less than a mile from home. They went with an italian and I got big delicious meatballs covered in cheese and marinara sauce (meatball sub). YUM. Meatballs are a comfort food for me- call me crazy. And while I enjoy cold subs all the time- hubby prefers hot subs, making Firehouse a go to for when he's craving a sandwich! Dad said it was quick in and out- so I appreciate that too. Me and my husband went in with two of our friends for lunch, he got a ham and Swiss sub with only ham and Swiss and I got an Italian. Our friends food came out at a decent speed and ours came out not long after. His sub was wrong so we sent it back. With two other people in the store it took almost 20 minutes for us to get his sub by which point all of us had completely finished eating. The employee who helped us get it out faster after realizing we still didn't have our remake was very nice but for a sub that had 3 ingredients on it took extremely too long. As Sub shops go, this place has been pretty consistent with the quality of subs they put out. Only had one instance where my order was forgotten about and i had to check on it. They were apologetic and took great care to make my sandwich quick and offered a coupon to come back with. The breads are fresh tasting and a big step up from Subway's typical day old sub rolls I've experienced in the past. $5.50 for a BOWL of chili and this is what you get. A very small container, only filled half way with some onions thrown on top. The chili looks very suspect. It was dry and just looked like cat food. I was not going to risk actually trying it. Subs are okay, I'll never order a soup or anything other than a sub again. Thought I do something different today. First off heading to the counter I noticed the cookies were past the sell by date and were hard. I was greeted by the fake welcome to Firehouse Subs. Originally ordered a footlong combo band noticed the $4.99 sandwich. The combo cane with a brownie which came frozen but could be thawed in the oven. I have to start this review out with a disclaimer. I've never been a huge Firehouse fan. It's not because the food isn't fresh or because the service is bad, I am simply not much of a hot sub fan. It must be the New Yorker in me but give me a basic cold cut sub over a heated one any day. That being said, I have recently discovered their grilled chicken sub and I have to admit, it's damn good (and hot!). This location is about midway between my office and home so it has become my go-to on Scobee sub days. For anyone not in the know, Firehouse and the Jaguars have a little deal this season that means anyone who signs up with Firehouse on their website gets a coupon for a free sub (with the purchase of chips and a drink) after any Jags game in which Scobee kicks a field goal over 40 yards. Despite the Jaguars' general lack of winning, we are lucky that Scobee is a pretty good kicker (though I'm not sure what his deal has been the past few weeks but that is an entirely separate discussion to be had) and more weeks than not, free sub coupons have gone out. The first time I visited this location for my sub (a few weeks back now), their air conditioning was out. It was easily 80-85 degrees out and despite the miserable temperature in the store, their staff could not have been friendlier. I was really impressed (and felt really awful for them, too). Every time I have gone in since, they've been just as cheery and friendly. As for that grilled chicken sub, it's really tasty and I love that I can tell it's a real chicken breast not some weird mix of rando chicken meat lumped into a patty. The parking lot where this location is can get really crazy at lunch time but if you stop in for an early or late lunch or dinner, it's not too bad. There are other Firehouse locations around but the staff here is worth dealing with the parking lot. read more

This is the *worst* Firehouse subs I've ever been to in Jacksonville! And I absolutely LOVE Firehouse. After making a call-in order, I came in and paid at the register. Even after the guy called out my name to let the rest of the staff know I was there, I still waited another 15 minutes before finally asking someone what the deal was. My sub was on top of a warmer the whole time!! No one called out my name. No one even asked which order I was waiting on as I was clearly standing there at the counter in front of their faces! The place wasn't even that busy! They were too busy gossiping and talking about staff that used to work there that they "miss and wish would come back". Really?? I don't even LIKE sub sandwiches, and I love Firehouse Subs. Firehouse is fantastic -- all of their ingredients are delicious and combine together into subs of wonder. I have tried three or four different subs and liked them all. I'm never sure what I'm going to order when I go in, but I know it's going to be good. What I really love is that I barely have to make any choices. I pick a sub that sounds good, I pick my bread, I say no tomatoes please, and a few minutes later someone is delivering a sub to my table. I imagine you could make a lot of choices if you really wanted to, but I'm happy not to have to figure out if I should put pickles or cucumbers on my sandwich. I'm also a fan of the soda machine, which dispenses a seemingly endless number of Coke products. I didn't even know there was such a thing as peach Fanta until I saw it here.
