Broadway Deli and Grill If you live or work near Belfort Rd near JTB and 95 you've probably seen Broadway Deli & Grill across from the US Post Office. It's a weekday lunch spot and is buzzing with area residents and nearby healthcare and office staff. It sits directly across from Ascension St Vincent's Southside. It's a shame I'm unable to get over here more often. Their cold and hot sandwiches are big and made fresh to order. I've tried a number of sandwiches and have enjoyed every one. Today I ordered a 12" Park Avenue...hot Roast Beef, Ham, Turkey, Provolone, lettuce, tomato, onions, banana peppers, mayo, mustard and Italian Spices on a white hoagie. For sides I ordered a small pasta salad and small potato salad. It was a little after 2pm so luckily I missed the lunch rush but there were still several tables of guests enjoying a late lunch. Shortly after ordering my sandwich came out. It's counter service and they call out your name when you're ready. As you can see by the pictures the sandwich was massive and full of mingling flavors. I was so hungry when I arrived but could only finish half my order. Gonna be a great dinner for later. Owners Jack and Lisa Zacharia are really terrific and you'll find both of them working hard every day to crank out hundreds of delicious lunch meals. Great to see another family owned small business really earning their success one guest at a time with so many apparent regulars. Put Broadway Deli on your list and come give them a try. They have a wonderful variety of sandwiches from Gyros to burgers to Deli subs and salads so there's something for everyone.

Double Bacon Cheeseburger $10.52 out the door

Greeted by staff, fair prices, big dining area, no foul smells. My only complain is burger quality could be higher, but then the price would be higher. Great little stop if you're in the area. I'll be back.

This deli and grill hit the spot. It was just on the border between breakfast and lunch time when I drove by this place. I remembered reading about it on Yelp and so I decided to go in and take a look at the menu. I saw their all-day gyro special and I got that. I figured that a sandwich, fries, and a drink for $8.99 was a good deal. I also asked the cashier to guide me on the desserts. She recommended cheesecake but I had my eye on either the carrot cake or red velvet cake. Of those two, she suggested carrot so I went with that. My food was ready so fast! By the time I got my drink from the fountain, they were calling my name. Perfect! I took a quick peak to ensure that the tatziki sauce was on the side and off I went. The food was piping hot but despite going across town with it, it maintained its integrity. The fries were crispy and the pita wasn't soggy!! They clearly know how to package food to go. The gyro was tasty! There was a good helping of meat, lettuce and tomato, and the sauce which I got on the side. The pita bread was soft and fresh and I could tell that they had put it on the grill briefly to warm it and to get a little char. The fries were freshly made and just out of the fryer. They needed a little salt (and pepper) but it was nothing that ketchup couldn't fix. So I had little to no expectations for this food but I was very much pleased by it and by my experience there. While the gyro meat wasn't shaved from a spit, it was seasoned and plentiful in the pita. The carrot cake was definitely the right choice and the piece was a reasonable size and price, despite the icing to cake ratio perhaps being a little off. I'll be back for the red velvet cake and to try more things on the menu.

8'' Hot Godfather

I needed a quick lunch spot while out and about running errands midweek. I remembered that I'd been wanting to try Broadway Deli & Grill so I drove over. The dining area was relatively busy during the lunch rush but I placed my order and got my sandwich super quick. I ordered the 8'' hot Godfather. It was amazing! Stack of warm Italian deli meats along with melted provolone cheese loaded into the toasted white bread was phenomenal. The spicy mustard was a great addition and really tried the sandwich together. All of that goodness topped with lettuce, tomato and white onion - spectacular! I thought of the Godfather as sort of a twist on a classic Italian sandwich. Hubby was jealous! Since he works during the week when Broadway Deli is open, I promised him lunch at the office very soon. He can't wait to try The Godfather while I'll be ordering one of the many other delicious sounding sandwiches.

Reuben Sandwich with fries. Under $9 .
Mike S.

Have been back to Broadway 2 times since my first visit and each visit has been better then the next. I have now tried the Gyro Lunch Special (under $9 for a Gryo, Fries, and a drink) and the Reuben with fries (also under $9). The Reuben I think was the best I have ever had. I did say no sauerkraut which I'm sure is frowned upon. The bread I think was a little thick this most bread on a Reuben but I liked this way better! The the quality and quantity of food you get here for the price is amazing. I will continue to come back. Best New York Deli in Jacksonville.

I've gone my entire teenaged and adult life ordering maybe 3 burgers over a couple of decades, now…read moreI wake up thinking about the texture, taste, thickness, seasoning and freshness of the beef at Pinegrove Market and Deli! My go-to is the Hoss burger, because I love the onion rings and special sauce, but their steaks (ribeye and tenderloin) are also perfectly aged and fresh off the butcher block. This is a small deli with seating tucked away on a neighborhood street where you're guaranteed to be greeted with a friendly smile by someone willing to answer any questions you may have. It's an older building but they're serving up bistro quality food. The menu is written on the wall to the right of the register, but they also have a printout. If you're prone to decision overwhelm and don't want to order 14 things, you can also look at the menu on their website! If I lived in walking distance, I'd come here twice a week. They also sell beer, wine, salads, sandwiches, and chicken tenders and fried fish! Can you tell I'm obsessed with this place?!

I went to Pinegrove Deli with very little idea of what to expect and was happy with my choice. After intensely studying the menu I finally decided on the Ortega. I love chicken salad so jazz it up with some tabouli and put it in a pita and I'm sold! I also ordered a side of onion rings which were also good. There was a pretty long wait to order, I'm not sure if the kitchen was backed up or they were short staffed but it was drastic enough that some people left before ordering and regulars were mentioning the wait time was getting worse. I have nothing to compare it to but it was 12:30 on a Saturday so it might have also just been a rush.

My son and I have been trying restaurants in this area and this was next on our list. Store was very clean, as I said before service was outstanding. Here's a list of the food we tried: Drink stand - not many selections, but they do have Coke products. Sweet tea - they have not perfected the taste of Southern sweet tea, but it was fine French fries - crisp crunchy exterior soft, interior, really well done. . Egg salad sandwich - it was just an egg salad sandwich, no better no worse than others, just fine . European Gyro - this was a normally euro stuff with french fries, it was a cool look in the dish was good. Overall, I wanted to love this place, and it was fine. But that's all it was was fine, they played it safe, they didn't try to spice up their menu or give you a number of unique specials. They just serve decent food at what I thought was a high price. For instance, my egg salad sandwich, and I'm an egg salad, lover, Fair but it was $13 without many side drink or chips. Most places, including Tidbits, which is one of their competitors, is less than $5. But I have to say they five other restaurants in this strip center, including the powerhouse Mexican food at El Castillo, Donato's Pizza, Mad o' Seafood, a Latino restaurant and Açaí Bowls. So if you're going to compete with these other restaurants, I think you need to go above and beyond. Maybe highlight Middle Eastern dishes, maybe makes egg salad with some curry powder, and don't charge so much for just plain sandwiches. I don't have any qualms about going back, but I also don't have anything to draw me back. That special dish or that special thing. And that seem to be the theme with the other people that came in. This was a first time visit for a lot of people , and a regular crowd just wasn't there. Maybe that is telling.

I was hosting family for Memorial Day weekend and wanted it to be special. I asked for six filet mignon cuts around 8-10 ounces. The gentlemen assisting was super friendly and took the time to ensure each cut met the specifications. He asked if I would like the filets seasoned. I had one visitor allergic to garlic, so he worked on five and another gentleman separated the other and provided a special seasoning without garlic. They made sure the items were separated and wrapped without question. Fast forward, I placed these bad boys on the grill and took them off at a temp of 145 degrees. The place is very busy so expect a little delay. The day we went card machine was not working great so a little bit of a longer line. Plenty of seats inside and outside. I didn't realize it was a hot sub but it was still great! My wife order the 904 and as she ate it she started to cry because of how good it was and the fact that we are moving away. It was a first time visit for both of us. I told the young lady neither of us had been there before and she offered to run through the menu for us which was great. I loved that. She described "The Peruvian" as (her words) "meat heavy". I've heard amazing things in the past about the Peruvian sauce, so that is what I landed on and chose to have it on their onion roll. Hubby went with the "Angie's Philly". I want to preface this with my husband and I had complete opposite opinions and you're going to hear about both of them. For me: When I heard the words "meat heavy" I did expect a larger than normal amount of meat, and maybe thats on me, or a lost in translation example, because in my mind this is not "meat heavy". HOWEVER, before you start angry typing, I REALLY enjoyed my sandwich. It was absolutely delicious and at one point (which I will touch on further down) I looked at my husband and said "Yeah... this is so much better than Larry's". I even put a little extra Peruvian sauce on it while devouring it. The bread was toasted perfectly, had GREAT flavor. I could have easily had a second (or maybe double meat? ) Anyways, zero co.plaints except for the lost in translation expectation. I hope that makes sense. Now, for my husband, who is extremely difficult to please. At first, when our sandwiches were delivered to the table, he was given someone else's sandwich and he ended up having to send it back and wait on his, while I started on mine. Whatever, mistakes happen, shit happens, and we weren't in any kind of rush, so no biggie. When his sandwich arrived and he began to eat it, he was disappointed. He said it doesn't taste like they season the meat at all and it felt bland. He noted that the cheese was melted on top and could have used more cheese chopped and grilled in the meat along with more mayonnaise. He's picky. About halfway though, he said he'd give it a 3 out of 5. Then began to finish the second half and apparently bit into some areas that were burnt and overcooked and dropped it to a 2.5. He said it wasn't bad enough not to complain or send back but not good enough to write home about. So that's the take for today's visit. We would both (especially me) try them out again in the future, and I personally can see why they're so loved.
