Service was fine, but what I witnessed was unacceptable for any food establishment. An employee was coughing heavily directly behind the sandwich ingredients area, with no mask or barrier. Worst experience ever ordering food through Grub the food was missing extra meat and was drowned in mayo. Took it back to Firehouse Subs to have it corrected and was treated by yelling refusal to correct the mistake unhinged manager yelling she was not going through this today and called the police. I have bought sandwiches from the Lilburn, GA location several times and was always pleased by the service and the quality of the food. But today when I went there, I left very unhappy and won't ever patronize this location again. The cashier who took my order was obviously in a foul mood and didn't show one bit of courtesy to me. She was downright rude! When she totaled up my order and I paid her, I said "thank you" and she said "you're welcome." Hang on a second! If I spend almost $40 on two sandwiches, a cup of soup and a small side of mac and cheese, I expect the restaurant employee to say "thank you" to me and show a little appreciation for my business. I asked her to cancel my order and refund my money and she argued with me when I told her that the reason I wanted my money back was her rude behavior. The food was great. I bought two fully involved medium Hook & Ladders minus tomatoes and two bags of chips. The employees were not enthusiastic. I could barely hear the cashier through her mask and she made no effort to slow down or raise her voice. I said, "I apologize, I'm having trouble hearing lately." She gave absolutely no response in return. As I was waiting for the sandwiches to be prepared, I walked around and took a few photos for my review. I do this everywhere I go, making sure I don't get any strangers in the shots. Nobody has ever said anything to me about it until now. I've tried Firehouse a few times and I just haven't been impressed with them. This time I went in to get a medium Hook & Ladders (thanks T-Mobile) without the mayonnaise. I don't know why the sandwiches just don't hit the mark. I couldn't really taste the meat. Perhaps a bit more would help. It's a hot sandwich, but maybe they should toast the bread. There was no textural variance. The lettuce wasn't crisp. Everything was just mushy. I don't know. I only know that after eating it, I felt let down by that lunch. The most egregious problem in my opinion (and the reason I won't return to this location) was the fact that the staff weren't wearing masks. Not sure why the low rating....I came here for lunch after an appointment and the place was packed. But the cashier moved us through down the conveyor belt in no time. I ordered a hook and Ladder with no cheese and no tomatoes. I also got a medium ice tea and some chips for about $9 dollars and change. My sandwich was great. After placing an $80.00 order on-line and picking it up, I returned back to the office to find there were no chips in the bag - despite the email and THE SIGN DIRECTLY NEXT TO MY TOGO ORDER that stated "CHIPS ARE NOW IN YOUR BAG". When I called to inform Firehouse the woman told me "the sign is just there to be there, the chips aren't in the bag". I also informed her that I ordered and paid for chicken and dumpling soup, which was not in bag. Her exact words to me were "we don't sell that soup, and I'm not the one who ordered it, you did". When I kindly asked if she thought it would have been more appropriate to inform me of that when I was picking the order up OR BETTER to have called when I placed the order online, SHE HUNG UP ON ME. Sad. Sad. Sad. For years I have heard the same commercial and wanted to try these subs. The pictures. The discriptions. It all sounded so good. And it was all a lie. The hot italian was a disaster. Its a disgrace to the term hot or italian. Further, if your on a limited lunch schedule, dont go here. It took 30 plus min to order and make lunch. After the 5 min ride back to work, the bread was grossly soggy. The tomatoes were soft and even the onions seemed old and wilted. The lettus had no crunch but atleast it was not brown. The meat was ok. But honestly, Nothing about this would qualify for their famous slogan. In fact, after just 3 bites I dissected this sandwhich and ate only the meat and various bits that were stuck to it. Our way beats their way... no please stop saying that. People like me make the mistake of believing it. Really if you want a good sub, grinder, hogie, or even something that taste like a sandwich, go to baldinos. Heck even blimpie does it better. The meat here is placed haphazardly on the roll like maybe they were wearing a blindfold during preparation. And they don't steam the sandwich enough here. I've been to plenty of Firehouses this by far is the worst one I've ever been to. It started off bad the moment I walked through the door no one greeted me, not even a hello. Now from my experience when someone walks in the door they're to be greeted by a loud "welcome to Firehouse!!" Then when I got up to the register a younger girl with braids was standing there, we had a staring contest for a good 30 seconds before she thought to say hello. I feel like if I come into your restaurant I should be the one getting you I should not have to prompt you to greet me on entering your business. Just from that point I wanted to walk out, but unfortunately this is the closest restaurant to my house. I've been to this restaurant at least once a week for about a year. The staff has always been friendly, fast and helpful. Even during the lunch rush the wait time is still reasonable. Until today....I'm assuming the sandwich maker is new this is only my second time seeing him there. There signature chili sauce is always available and is my favorite condiment for the hook and ladder. White male looks to be in his early thirties with stretched earholes. I just left the Lilburn location it is 515 095- 2019 I tell you this because he refused to give me his name told me I would have to come up and get his business card the reason I called is because about 15 minutes earlier I ordered a sandwich they messed it up as they admitted to doing so and rather than having good customer service and telling me to come back give them my name and they give me the correct sandwich because they know they messed up my sandwich they wanted me to drive back in traffic with the sandwich to return it to get a new one. I figured that i could stop in and grab two quick sandwiches after a long day at the office. As soon as i walked in the 1st thing i noticed was how DISGUSTING the floor & tables were. There were soda stains on all of them & 1 particular table had fries all around it on the floor, which struck me as odd, because i don't think you sell fries. Sarah greeted me,somewhat warmly,but not really. I ordered 2 Engineer subs 86 mushrooms because i'm deathly allergic to them.She didn't ask me if i wanted the combo,so i didn't get them. After waiting about 10 minutes which is FAR too long for 2 sandwiches & a store that, at the time, wasn't full, Sarah came & spoke to the people that were already there when i walked in, and said "Your meatball sandwich will be right up. I'm so sorry." Already upset i realized that not only was my food not done yet but now i had to wait for these other people to get theres still. Those people told me that they were already waiting for 10 minutes before i walked in. The staff was too busy discussing instagram to focus on their job, and one of the men working there had really long, dirty hair WITH NO HAIR NET. He came from around the counter to speak to some lady instead of focusing on making the food, and i'm surprised his pants weren't around his knees,they were so big. Very unprofessional "uniform". In short, my order of TWO sandwiches took 30 minutes, i got mine AFTER people that came in behind me got theirs also. When Sarah FINALLY brought them to me, she gave me the most insincere apology that i've ever heard and handed me a coupon for a free sandwich, but HERE'S THE KICKER. Even though i had NO intention of ever coming in that store again, i looked at the coupon today and it had an expiration date of 11/2013 on it. Yeah, that's not a typo.
