Tonight I had the MISFORTUNE of spending money, time, and gas for THE MOST unprofessional fast food service ever in my life. In this age of going viral, the opportunity almost presented itself. I went into the Whataburger at 1695 Pleasant Hill Rd, Duluth. Yeah, first mistake, I know. The instructions on a mobile order states to go Into the store, to the counter, and let them know I have an order to pick up. While waiting and observing a well-kept and seemingly clean restaurant, there was no one at the counter, but a loud and boisterous voice was barking from the cooking area. The conversation was coming from a person who sounds new to management because what was being said wasn't for customers to hear. Then I heard "the voice" talking to an employee about getting clocked in at the front counter. Finally, this will be my chance to let someone know I was waiting patiently. That thought didn't age well. When I initiated conversation, I was abruptly told "let me get him clocked in THEN I will be right with you!" WTF?! I then heard her chastise an employee for leaving for the evening without letting anyone know they were leaving. Again, a conversation not for the public. I'll call the manager "Catherine B. Lewis", only because when I tried to get her name, she turned away to keep me from reading it. I bet you can guess why the initial "B" comes to mind for a middle name. The first young man she walked to the front initially, showed concern for my patience and offered me a drink. I hesitated because I wasn't there too long, but hey, he offered. A minute later, I heard "B" say "see if this order is for anyone out there!" Um, that would be me. ‍ When the young man she had chastised came out with the food, he did just as she asked and gave me my order. However, she didn't remind him I had two drinks. How could she? She didn't read the complete order herself. I know, because when I pointed out I was to have two drinks, her defenses went up? But why? A simple oversight, I felt. Not with this one though. Instead of acknowledging the common mistake on her part, she says "two drinks? You got one already!" I told her the employee offered me a drink while I waited. She then accused me of "stealing it" because it was supposed to be water, instead of the orange drink I selected. And I would know this why? Then she threatened to not give me cups for my PAID FOR drinks because I "stole one" already. What ensued was my desire to act on my intrusive thoughts and launch the gifted free orange soda against the wall. But I thought better, and chose not meet ignorance with a misdemeanor. So I used my words instead, after I showed my frustration by snatching one of the cups for my paid for drinks from her hand. Then she went on to become more insulting. With that said, I began to inform her of what I felt the "B" stood for. She then let me know that she and my deceased mother were twinning in that regard. Of course, since I had my food, and my free drink, I was playing with house money and let her know what other adjectives my deceased mother taught me, as I hurled everyone I could muster at her. Who knew I would be recording the last time I EVER go to a Whataburger, while encouraging others to avoid this poorly represented franchise location. Yet, here we are. read more

This was my second time trying Whataburger, but at a different location, so I was curious to see if the experience would be the same. I ordered the original burger combo with fries and decided to try their hibiscus lemonade. The hibiscus lemonade was refreshing, though a bit sweeter than I expected--still really good, especially if you enjoy fruity drinks. One thing I do appreciate about Whataburger is their spicy ketchup. It adds a little extra kick to the fries and gives them that something extra. While waiting in the drive-thru, the wait was longer than normal. Since this location is fairly new, I'm guessing the team is still working through the flow of customer service and timing. That said, the burger itself was tasty. I actually ended up eating in the parking lot before pulling off so I could enjoy it while it was still hot--and it definitely hit the spot. Final thoughts: A solid burger with flavorful extras like the spicy ketchup. Once the drive-thru timing improves, the experience will likely be even better. read more

I was excited to try the new Whataburger and know they just opened, so I'm willing to be patient. The experience was just okay, but definitely underwhelming for the price. The good part: the onion rings were great. They were crispy, flavorful, and not oily at all. However, the main event, the bacon cheeseburger, was a letdown. While I appreciate that it wasn't greasy, it was disappointingly dry and lukewarm. My iced tea was also very weak. It took about 15 minutes to get my food for a dine-in order, which seems a bit long. My #5 Bacon and Cheese Whataburger meal came in at $12.60. I'll give them a few months to get settled before I consider trying again. read more

The visit actually started out fairly well. When I walked in, the restaurant was not busy at all--there were only one or two people in line--so I opted to use the self-checkout kiosk. The kiosk itself was quick and easy to navigate for the most part; however, it immediately presented an issue. It required you to select a numbered cone to match your order, but there were no cones available to choose from. Since there was no clear instruction on what to do in that situation, I selected a random number and later had to explain the issue to the associate at the front counter. I placed a simple order: one burger, a half-and-half side of onion rings and French fries, and a milkshake. With such a small order and very few customers inside, I did not expect a long wait. Unfortunately, the wait time ended up being well over 30 minutes, which was surprising and disappointing given how quiet the restaurant was at the time. When the food finally arrived, the order was incorrect. Instead of receiving half onion rings and half fries, I was given only onion rings. Additionally, the burger bun was extremely hard, which further detracted from the meal. At that point, the experience had become frustrating. If this location hadn't been one of the only places open at the time, I likely would have left and gone elsewhere. I also overheard other customers inside expressing similar complaints about long wait times and incorrect orders, which suggests this may be an ongoing issue rather than an isolated incident. That said, I do want to give credit where it is due: the associate at the front counter was very polite, professional, and genuinely tried to help. Unfortunately, there seemed to be a disconnect between what the front counter was communicating and what the kitchen was executing, which ultimately impacted the overall experience. On a positive note, the restaurant itself was clean, including the dining area and restrooms, which is always appreciated. Cleanliness was clearly not the problem here. Would I try this place again? Possibly--but not anytime soon. Based on this experience, I would not recommend visiting during the middle of the day when there are plenty of other dining options available. If you do decide to go, it may be best to visit during a very slow time or be prepared for potential delays and order inaccuracies. Wow. It didn't take long for the service in this location to hit bottom. Waits for food have been getting longer with each visit. The lot seemed fairly empty this afternoon so I decided to take a chance. Ordering at the kiosk is fast, but the staff in the kitchen just didn't seem to be able to keep up with the customers, even as light as it was. They seem to prioritize the drive thru customers over walk-ins, so those of us inside had to wait 20-30 minutes for our orders while drivers were getting faster service. Ther server at the front counter was doing her best to smile and manage the growing crowd, but the shift manager behind the scenes openly and loudly criticized the staff instead of leading and getting issues resolved. I looked forward to this option in the area since most choices are mainly Mexican or Asian. That's fine, but more variety is better. Someone should have built a steakhouse in this location instead, because this place will be out of business soon if their service continues to decline. On a positive note, the food was decent when it was eventually received. read more

I tried this new whataburger today for lunch. A new store that's got that new whataburger smell and very enthusiastic young servers. These servers were very courteous and took my order without any communication barriers. The grilled chicken is very good but get it with light mayo.Next, the onion rings are great! They ce out hot and fresh. In my humble opinion, a lot better than burger king's " frozen" cooked ones.They are not as greasy as the Varsity or Martin's but nonetheless taste just as good. I think this location will do good as it is on a highly traveled road. As of this typing, this whataburger is recommended. read more

Absolutely the most horrible service imaginable. Stood at the counter to order for at least 10 minutes, was then told to order thru the kiosk or my wait would be longer. I didn't want to do that, but did anyway. When you finish paying the screen says to see the cashier for your drink cup. Except that despite that their were at least 10 employees they all managed to ignore the front counter. So maybe forcing customers to use the kiosk instead of giving them some actual service attention is a thing, at least be nice about it. Being dismissive and surley doesn't get it. I've been going to Whataburger for over 50 years since I was a teenager in Texas. I was excited when they came to Georgia, but this isn't the same company so they shouldn't have bothered. read more

Customer service is a 0 in this establishment. Don't understand because it's fairly new. Then they have a sign on the window saying that vets get free coffee. I asked for my coffee and was told I had to pay. When I brought the sign to the cashiers attention, I was told the coffee machine was broken. We were staying at the Sonesta across the street for Conjuration and couldn't resist hitting up Whataburger multiple times during our awesome four-day trip! I've been waiting 2 years to eat at Whataburger. I live in California. Unfortunately, what a major letdown!!! I bought 3 meals for me and my family. First issue arose was the length of time to wait for our meals. At least 6 minutes later the order arrived. When it arrived I attempted to speak with the girl employee and she ignored me when I asked for ketchup and onion ring dip. My wife and I had to walk to the counter to retrieve the condiments...additionally, the fries were cold. The burgers were also overly dressed with way too much mustard. When I went to the counter I was further ignored by the same female employee when I thanked her. I hope this is an isolated incident. Customer service was terrible. No communication and when talking with the front staff, they rolled their eyes and were inconsiderate and rude. Kept being told to wait for food and given time frames (for example: was told coffee would take 5 minutes to brew, coffee was not given until 20 minutes after asking). Staff seemed annoyed that we were asking for the food or asked for items (no napkins were available nor was any sweet tea). Received cold and old fries after waiting 25 minutes. As l sit on inside the restaurant, l can say that Im a very patient person. I'm willing to wait a while up to but something here felt different there were people who had ordered before me and it had been around 35-45 minutes and they didnt get their food. For me it only took 20 minutes, as l was waiting near the entrance overheard the manager asking where the person who was supposed to he in the grill was apparently it had walked out. The food was great but l feel they need to improve on communication and service. The employees are great and food is fine but the timing and accuracy of my order every time I have come is insane.
