First time at Pollo Campero in Lawrenceville and I'm already planning my return like it's a family…read moreobligation. From the moment I walked in, Gladys set the tone. She took my order and was an absolute delight. Since it was my first visit, she walked me through the menu like a seasoned tour guide who genuinely wants you to win. She made a few suggestions, and I trusted her immediately. Zero regrets. Before I even got to the food, the place itself deserves some love. The ambiance hits that perfect balance. It has a colorful, vibrant aesthetic with a clean, modern feel, but somehow still feels like you just walked into a cozy little casita. It's welcoming without trying too hard, which I appreciated. I went with the 2 piece roasted meal, breast and thigh, with beans on the side because, you know, fiber is your friend and I am trying to make responsible life choices. While I was staring a little too long at the empanadas, Gladys casually asked if I wanted to add one. Honestly, I felt seen. And also persuaded. In the best way. Let me tell you, when that food came out, it did not disappoint. The chicken was juicy, tender, and packed with flavor. Not "this is good for fast food" good. Just straight up good. The beans? They hit hard. Like unexpectedly the star of the plate hard. And that empanada... I am so glad I said yes. That was a life improving decision. Great service, great food, and a vibe that makes you want to sit a little longer than you planned. Shoutout to Gladys for making a first visit feel like I've been coming here for years. 10 out of 10, would trust her recommendations again without hesitation.

You order at the front and they bring the food to your table. Large open space and was a little loud as they were quite busy. The burger was arguably one of the best I've had in a long time. The flavor of the meat was perfect. Smash burger style.

From the moment my daughter her friend and I walked in, we were treated like we were a burden instead of paying customers. The attitudes from the employees were rude, cold, and completely unwelcoming. Nobody seemed happy to help, and the entire atmosphere felt miserable. After waiting 10-15 minutes for our food to be "freshly cooked," I expected at least hot food. Instead, I was handed a turkey burger that was barely lukewarm and french fries that were cold, limp, and already wrinkling like they had been sitting forever. To make it worse, the fries looked like nothing but the tiny leftover scraps from the bottom of the potato bag. It honestly felt like they just threw together whatever they didn't want to serve anyone else. We sent the fries back, and when they brought them out again, they were only slightly warmer than before -- still not hot like fries should be straight out of the fryer. What's even crazier is that the manager brought the food back to the table and STILL never apologized. No concern, no accountability, nothing. That alone says everything about the customer service at this place. Whatever happened to quality food and decent customer service? Customers are paying hard-earned money and deserve hot food and respectful treatment -- not cold leftovers, terrible attitudes, and management that acts like it doesn't care. Extremely disappointing experience, and I will definitely think twice before ever coming back.

I learned an important lesson today: sometimes you should trust your first lunch instinct…read more A coworker suggested Greek, and my mind immediately went to Adriatic Grill. Instead, we decided to try somewhere new and headed to Pita Corner in Lawrenceville. I ordered the beef shawarma with falafel. Let's start with the positives. The restaurant was clean, the dining area was well kept, and the restroom was spotless. It looked like it had just been cleaned, which I always appreciate. Now for the food. The beef shawarma had decent flavor, but it was so dry that every bite felt like a workout. The meat clung to the roof of my mouth and my teeth like it had signed a lease there. No amount of chewing seemed to improve the experience. Texture matters just as much as seasoning, and unfortunately, this missed the mark. The falafel ended up being the highlight of the meal. It was flavorful, had a nice texture, and was easily the best thing on the plate. I always like giving new places a chance, but this one just wasn't for me. While I appreciated the cleanliness and friendly environment, the food simply didn't leave me wanting to come back. If you'd like, I can also make it a little sharper and funnier for Yelp while still keeping it professional and believable.
