I had a medium pastrami sub at Firehouse. Firehouse never ever disappoints. It was delicious! During the pandemic they removed all the bottles of mild/medium/hot sauces. I was very disappointed when this happened but understood as I liked to try different sauces each time. Now some of the sauces are in packets a basket near the pick up station. Subs / Sandwiches Never having seen a Firehouse subs before, I had been wanting to give it a shot for a while now. Subs are freshly made to order. You basically line up at the order side, pick your sandwich, bread fixins etc and they ring you up and you grab your seat or wait for your go- order. This is pretty much the ordering drill at any sandwich place, so there should be no surprises there. I chose to stay there and eat. They have a large computerized soda machine where it all comes out of one tap once you play around with the touch screen. Tables are plentiful and clean and the order is out in relatively short amount of time. Sandwiches are served hot (you can skip that of course) but they also have cold sandwiches available as well, and if you get the combo, you grab a bag of chips to go with your order. Sandwiches are tasty and well made- I usually opt for the 8 inch and it is plenty to fill me up. Sandwiches come with a pickle as well. Employees are friendly and the prices are average to high... I think Subway is cheaper overall but in comparison to other sandwich chains, they are about equivalent. Parking lot in front for the entire strip mall. read more

Ordered a large smokehouse and a grilled cheese for my daughter. The man brought it out and began to give me the smokehouse. I said that it was actually my little girl's sub and I got the grilled cheese. Although confused he began to switch and I said I was kidding. We shared a laugh which he appreciated. Bad news. The grilled cheese was not melted. I brought it back to him and he made a new one no questions asked and gave her a free cookie. His demeanor was very friendly without being fake and it made the whole transaction magical. I didn't catch his name, but you know who you are. I'm not one to complain but I asked for a sub with meat and cheese that's it. Literally easiest thing you could make. Not only did it take them over 15 minutes to make a three inch sub when they weren't even busy but they put EVERYTHING on there when I specifically asked them not too. It was ruined and it was money wasted. Wanna know why they got it wrong though?? Because instead of doing they're job the THREE guys behind the counter stood around talking about the f****** titanic sinking. Super inconsiderate of my time and everyone else's but I also paid money for that s***. If you can't do any better than that then you don't deserve to paid. I'm absolutely disappointed. read more

We are big Firehouse Subs fans, so we were excited to see one 'locally' - we stopped in on our way back to Charlottesville after returning to a flight there at Lynchburg airport. This location was, as my rating indicates, just "a-ok." I still enjoyed my veggie sub, don't get me wrong, but the bread was too soft/soggy, the service was S-L-O-W (we were the only ones in there when we walked in around 11:30, and it still took about 15 min) and the freestyle coke machine wasn't loaded with all the possible flavor combos. read more

Just for the record. A friend and I went toFirehouse Subs and we were together no where else. Both of us came down with COVID-19. ,at the exact same time. At a later date, we went back,and observed that they do not sanitize the tables after each guest. Yes, the management was informed, but could have cared less. FYI! read more

Subs so hot your glad your at a firehouse! They have very friendly service and are quick to get your sub out to you as quick as possible. They all taste great and make them just as you want them. They are a bit more money than subway but you pay for what you get. Overall a great experience and good food. read more

Great place for hot subs. I recommend the beef and cheddar smokehouse brisket. Always friendly service and fairly quick service. They also have the best soda machine that has just about everything but i say try the minute maid sparkling its tangy and delicious. The price for the sandwich is worth it read more

Tonight my wife & I went into our local Firehouse in Lynchburg. We really enjoy their subs & always look forward to going. Tonight when we went in, both employees greeted us as we walk in. As we got to the register to order the lady who was working near the register told us she would be right with us. She was fixing someone else's food with no gloves on. While she was making their food she proceeded to sneezing multiple times into her hand. She looked at her hand, wiped it on her apron, and continued making the other person's food without washing her hands or putting gloves on. My wife and I immediately left the store without ordering. While we like the food at Firehouse we will never go in this one again. This was absolutely disgusting. read more

Being a huge sub fan this has been the almost best place to get a sub in the Lynchburg area. The drink machine is a little overkill and over rated. Service has always been a zip, the subs are ALWAYS on point. Don't forget your bucket of pickles to go along with your sub. read more

Sub was cold. Employees unprofessional. Had to repeat order because employee (looked like teenage boy) had headphones in and kept looking at his iphone. Had his viser cocked to the side like he was in a gang. Then he would stand right next to the other guy making the sandwich, and txt 2 feet from the meat in the food prep area. Gross. If you want to listen to manager and employee argue over dropping meat on the floor and the proper procedure for charging an iPhone, while you eat, this is the place to be. Very disappointed with the subs I bought here. The bottom bread on both subs was very soggy, actually mushy. Hands down Subway is 100 times better. They have more of a variety of toppings as well as sub choices. The staff here seemed friendly enough but when it got a little busy they seemed to lose all organization.
