Oh my....I eat Jersey Mike once a week from all over the US. Whenever I am in Lynchburg this place has been consistently solid. Today, I ordered the Big Kahuna hot sub. Chase knocked it out of the park. Truly a sub above. Best I have had from J mikes... maybe ever.... Ratios were perfect and very well cooked. Chase needs to be running the place if she isn't already. I went in today just to get a tuna and cheese sub and go to class, quick in and out. Instead I was met by such kindness from the staff. I wanted gluten free bread they were willing to go as far as to clean the machine but since it was preference I didn't mind. That's great customer service! I ordered a mini turkey. I got it right after it was made and took it to 4 miles down the road. The poor little sandwich was swimming in vinegar. I had to throw away half the bread. Which is the best part of the sub. I called about it and a male manager took my name and stated to come in asap to get it made. When I get there a couple days later. I told them my name for a remake. They stated "we don't do that here". Don't tell a customer that had shit quality of food that'll you'll make it right. When in fact you won't. The ingredients were fresh so no complaint there. The variety of toppings is somewhat lacking compared to other sub shops. We ordered 3 sandwiches and didn't modify them greatly (no tomato or spicy mustard were the modifications) they weren't prepared correctly. Disappointing. read more

All the tables were dirty when we walked in. The sandwiches were good but after I got my unsweetened tea (I'm diabetic) I was told they ran out of sweetener and weren't carrying it any more. ? My wife and I generally eat 'clean' to maintain our weight. I love hoagies so every now and then I go hog wild and end up at Jersey Mike's. My favorite is the Italian, Mike's Way. I think the health department should walk into this place unannounced. I called in my order this afternoon and when I went to pick it up I was going to ask for a side of pickles until I saw what the female employee was doing to someone else's order behind the counter. She was making two subs for the people in line ahead of me and when she was through making them....with oil, mayo and lettuce all over her gloves she rang up the order with the nasty gloves on, then picked up and handed the customer a pen from the pen holder then handed them a receipt....all with the gloves on. Then she continued, with the same gloves on another order, rang up that order with that customer and then handled cash and gave change!!! ALL WITH THE SAME GLOVES ON!!!!! When she got to me she asked me for a receipt and I told her I didn't have one, that I had called in the order. She went, WITH THE SAME GLOVES ON and picked up my bag with her greasy disgusting contaminated gloves. I ripped my bag and asked her for another one and requested she change her contaminated gloves, she handed me another one holding it with her fingertips, STILL WITH THE CONTAMINATED GLOVES ON and rolled her eyes as she handed me my receipt with the other hand and got oil on the receipt as you will see in the picture I posted. Maybe these employees don't understand that it's against the law to handle food with gloves and then cross contaminate them and use the same pair on the next customer. NASTY! read more

This is outside my normal area in Lynchburg. But I wanted some lunch and went to Given's Books to get something to eat at Little Dickens but was surprised to find they have no sandwiches. So I drove up the road and there was a sub shop so I went in. Must admit I didn't know it was part of a chain but I probably would've gone in even if I knew that. The regular club sub with a soda was $10 so not cheap. It was quite OK but I was not converted and would certainly not drive across town from my home to eat there again. read more

Ordered No. 13 Mikes Original the young lady said to be the Turkey I said no Mikes Original she said you said Turkey. I took a deep breath and said with a smile No. 13 Mikes Original all the way. The order proceeded the sandwich maker asked me if I wanted it all the way and if I wanted anything else on it. I said no the sandwich was made I paid and left it was a Giant by the way $14.50. Got home my wife and I each had half . We were disappointed there wasn't enough oil added to it it was dry. Upon inspection one slice of cheese probably all that comes with the sandwich however it was paper thin. Upon further inspection the meat is shaved not paper thin yet thin enough. Before leaving if you charge your meal the first question is if you want to tip. When they first started this a year or so again it really perturbed me. The people behind the counter are making my sandwich like other fast food establishments. It also puts one in a possibly embarrassing position because the register operator can see if you tipped or not. If you are a regular who knows what the staff is thinking when you arrive. Instead of asking for a tip why doesn't the owner of the store pay his or her employees more. This is fast food not a sit down restaurant where I am served at my table. I will give them a tip though , put the proper amount of oil on the sandwich take a look at the meager slice of cheese on the sandwich. I will give this another try except this time I will ask for extra oil. The bread and taste can beat any other sub shop but somehow they have managed to deliver less than what they should be and hence losing potential long term and repeat customers on a more regular basis. I love the subs here. I usually get the philly cheese steak. The staff is really friendly and nice, especially given how busy it was. There was an issue with my order, due to how loud the place was, and they were really quick to make the correction without making me feel bad. The food is delicious. If you want a fresh, good sub sandwich this place definitely outranks Subway and the like. In fact, the bread is what I think makes their subs so good, not to mention the fact that they cut their meat in front of you as your sandwich is made, so it's as fresh as it gets! They also have real bacon, not that nasty flimsy junk! Their subs are also large and contain a LOT of meat! A regular sub lasts two meals for me. So keep that in mind when ordering. My fave is the steak sandwich with onions and peppers. My mom loves their chicken salad. The club sandwich is also good! Definitely a clean, nice store and the employees are very helpful and friendly! The prices are definitely higher than I expected but worth it for all you get! read more

I go to Jersey Mike's from time to time. I always go to the location on Old Forest and the experience is usually the same, with a quick moving line and relatively clean inside. The good: JM has much better subs than Subway with more meat than a place like Subway will ever put on any of their subs... you can actually taste the meat that you ordered. The bad: JM subs are overpriced for what you get... a regular 6.5" Famous Philly is almost $8 and the Giant 13" version is $13!!! That's $1 per inch, crazy. If these were seriously overstuffed subs it would be worth the price, but they aren't. Pretty tasty but generally overpriced. read more
