Not to invalidate many other people's experiences, but I've only ever had good experiences at this particular firehouse location. They, like many other fast food establishments have a short supply of workers, but the ones they do have always seem to be working their hardest to getting the food out fast and with a good level of quality. Today, I order a medium hook and ladder sub, and just like always it was absolutely delicious . I commend the workers they have here and would recommend others to try out this location. Absolutely miserable experience. It should not take 40 minutes to start preparing 3 sandwiches. This is the second opportunity I've given this location, to prove the first wasn't a fluke. Last time I was here I had to cancel an order because I couldn't wait 40 minutes for 4 sandwiches I ordered. I couldn't afford to be late for my son's basketball game. Now, today, I'm sitting in the lobby at 1:48pm writing this review because at 1:06pm I placed an order for 3 sandwiches and still haven't recieved them. Stopped in after watching a matinee movie. Got a hankering for a sub sandwich. Chose the medium New York Steamer. Very hot and delicious! Definitely a very busy place waited about 10 minutes which is reasonable. Prices are above average, but it's to be expected with the economy. Anyway, staff was very cheerful, helpful, and polite. Percentage of the receipts always go to first responders. Great cause!Restaurant was very clean. Plenty of inside seating. Definitely a return trip. read more

I'm never disappointed at Firehouse Subs!! The portions are very Generous! Service is always very delightful,very friendly and professional! We are all not perfect, and things happen, this has happened only twice to me, and they were not big enough problems to cause a problem, they caught it, the issues. In all the years they have been in New Berlin, they always make it right, with no qualms whatsoever! The Restraunt is always very clean, and plenty of seating, they even have catering! The prices are right, especially for the portions! Some of the money goes to First Responders! It's a win win!! The very nice and professional gentleman I dealt with this last time gave me a card with the name Chris Standlee on it. If this is his name or the owner they both run a very good business!! I wanted an Italian sub sandwich because I have been craving one so I thought I would try Firehouse Subs because I have not been to one in many years and I didn't have an Italian sub. The place is done up in a fire house decor with hats and other items. The staff was very friendly while taking my order as I ordered the Italian sub. I got my Italian sub right away and I was off. When I opened the bag my sub was in a box and also wrapped loosely in paper and I thought what a waste of a box and just wrap it like everyone else does. To my surprise it had a pickle spear in the box. The Italian sub looked good with melty cheese and I forgot that they toast them. As I'm eating my sub I'm chewing on something that was not chewing like a rubber band was in my mouth, nope it's the onion skin left on the onion so they don't peal the skin off and just put it in the sandwich. The bread was fresh as well as all the ingredients and the sandwich was ok but it didn't scream Italian taste wise and it didn't fill my crave. This is probably my least favorite Italy sub from any chain sub shop. read more

This is a different option for us at work and we like it! They are always quick with order pick up and online ordering is super easy to use. I like the turkey sandwich it had good flavor and is toasty warm! I'm glad this place is a quick lunch spot! I can't wait to try some other sandwiches here! read more

This is the best gluten free sub around. I am addicted . Always friendly, efficient and delicious. Establishment is clean. I'm here once a week, trying different subs. So far tuna, hook and ladder and Italian have all been delicious. Keep up the great job! read more

Unfortunately, the New Berlin WI location lost its mojo due to being closed down during the lockdowns. I suspect they lost their awesome employees from before. We used to get sandwiches several times a month and loved their products. The three times we have tried since they re-opened the shop, it has been very disappointing, so we're done. I was always a huge fan of Quizno's and their toasted subs, so I was very saddened when they had their franchise issues and shut down every location near to me. Thank you Firehouse Subs for filling my toasted sub void! I am happy again that I am able to get delicious toasted subs whenever I want, and close to home as well! I introduced my son to Firehouse Subs and he too loved it! I am also a hot sauce fan, so seeing the shelf of various hot sauces made me even more of a fan! read more

General Manager refuses to wear a mask. He has it dangling around his chin. I politely corrected him; he got defensive and explained WHILE SCREAMING that it was too hard for the employee standing 1 foot from him to hear if he wore his mask. Consider the irony. He's training her. While not wearing a mask. Which means, he's training her to not wear a mask. The frat boys making the sandwiches only gave us 2 of our 3 sandwiches. About a month ago, I went into the establishment to order a sandwich to go. The only one wearing a face mask (only over mouth) was the cashier. The blonde lady making my sandwich did not have a mask on. I over looked tat, went home and started eating my sandwich. About 3 bites in, I found a long blonde hair. I pulled it out of the sandwich and was thoroughly disgusted. I did fill out the survey with my findings, I was contacted back asking for my address to send me coupons. I asked if anything was going to be done in the future to prevent this? I never received a response. This is where it stands. Not sure, I would go back after that has happened. Food was assembled as it was shown on the menu. Literally were the only people in there, I ordered a New York steamer and my girlfriend ordered a hook and ladder with no tomato. We received two hook and ladders, both with tomato. Pretty disappointed as the manager was the one who helped us as well. read more

The subs are excellent here. I really enjoyed staff recommendations. The bread is my favorite of all the sub locations. They have a clean store and it feels comfortable to dine in if you want too. Large selection of hot subs. Reasonable prices too. Make sure to get a pickle. read more

We have been to this location a few times and do enjoy the food. The low rating is for the cleanliness of the store. The tables are not wiped down despite employees standing around with nothing to do. The soda machine is splattered with syrup. The floors look like they are never mopped. Don't even think of going into the bathrooms. Time to start looking for an alternate location. read more

The other day we decided to forego Tropical Café and try Firehouse Subs right next door ( New Berlin, Wi ). Went in, greeted, they were fairly busy. Two subs ordered, one was a make it yourself, turkey and one was the Philly Style. Both the subs were very good. More filling than say a Subway Sub or a Jimmy's John. Sandwich also "seemed" a little bigger? Had a side of Chili and a Side of Chicken Dumpling soup. Again both were good ( not as good as mine at home, but who's is!). I like the interior. The staff was greeting everyone and friendly. I think they had 3 persons working, as it got busy they definitely needed 4 as the subs take just a little longer to create. Other than missing some pepper packages, all was good at a decent value. I will definitely stop again. read more

This place was the most unorganized sub shop I've ever been in. It took 20 plus minutes to get our order, dirty tables and no one was cleaning them. They had six people behind the counter making sandwiches, one at the register who appeared as if she did not want to even be there The food, it was ok at best. Subway would have been a better choice! While the food is good, the NB location is one of the slowest order fillers of any sub chain known to man. At first I thought it was because it was a new location, however I have been here 3 times, 37 min wait with only 1 other person in restaurant, 15 min wait with 1 person ahead of me and now another 16 min wait to get food. They have 6 people making subs who move like snails. The service is absolutely terrible. Manager or franchise owner light a fire under your team. I'm not expecting freaky fast like Jimmy Johns but you should be able to fill a basic sub order in less than 10 min when you are not busy. This is a fast food restaurant, You are NOT fast.
