Well the fishy fry was good though quite greasy. Tartar sauce was good and fresh lemon is nice. Cole slaw didn't look rest so I brought it home to try it tomorrow. On the other hand, the kid's sliders were awful. Paper thin and the meat tasted really funky. I know when my kid won't eat even two bites of a cheeseburger that there's something wrong with it. He had liked every burger he's ever had but for these. I took a large bite and there's definitely something off. It tasted almost like it had been dissolved. Like it wasn't even meat? Just awful! Fries were also fairly limp and soggy. The few crispy ones were okay. Thankfully they weren't overly salted. Custard was good. Booths have lots of handprints of grease from kids reaching over the top or back behind their heads with their hands. We will try again but avoid the burgers. read more

Maybe my bad day spilled over into my bad experience. We have been here a few times and it has always been OK. Maybe inflation has come to the point where a double burger and onion ring combo and a chicken wrap combo is really $30+ It was also like 7pm and I was beyond hungry. My double volcano had jalapenos in it which was fine, I picked up the burger and they all fell out. The bacon was chewy to the consistancy of just gross and not good. THe burger was just a pile of grease. The ketchup dispencer didnt work for me, but my kid got it to work. Maybe it was a bad day over all. At this point ice cream wouldnt have saved the day. I'd say for a neighborhood Drive Thru this place does great. I usually get the Chicago style hot dog and fries, which never fails. I grew up near Chicago so finding the right dog makes a difference. I have also tried their burgers, which are great. The Volcano could be spicier, but for the average person it might be spicy the blue moon shake is perfecto! read more

I returned for a Chicago Dog cause I was in the area and decided I should add an updated rating. The buns on the dog could still use some work on freshness but I really enjoy that they are not soggy like other places. My sport peppers didn't seem that fresh and I would prefer a yellow mustard. All of that being said I still enjoy their version of the Chicago Style Hot Dog. The fries are still as great as my first visit and service is a solid 5 star. read more

My husband and I have been coming to this place at least once a week, since they have been opened. The food is good. The manager needs to be more appreciative of their customers. Ordered the gyro combo platter through their drive-thru. Have not had a gyro from Kraverz in 4+ years. Gyro seemed to be much smaller than I remembered and compared to other restaurants. Cut way back on the protein, lots of onions, and tomatoes. The flavor profile with the tzatziki sauce was very good. Began eating it immediately on the ride home... sandwich was lukewarm. The side of french fries was a very generous serving. But, they too were luke warm at best, soggy/stale with no crispness at all. It was 7:30 pm so maybe these were left over from the dinner rush. Also seemed to be missing salt (maybe being served this way now). I know not good for you... but still like my fries seasoned or salted. If only the gyro and fries were served much warmer (or even hot) and the fries weren't so soggy... could have been a much higher rating. read more

Kaverz is a nice family owned "quick order" restaurant that serves burgers, gyros, Italian beefs, Chicago hot dogs, malts and daily specials on ice cream just to name a few items that they offer. We have been here a dozen times or so, but mostly to go for malts and their daily ice cream special. However, their burgers are good in a pinch as well as their gyros. Their Chicago hot dogs are also good if you are looking for something other than a burger or standard quick order chicken strips. You can make it a combo for $2.90, and the fries are decent but you can upgrade to onion rings for a small price. I have had their gyro a number of times and their tzatziki sauce is decent, but I like to smother my gyro in the sauce and they will provide you another cup if you request one. If you are looking for place to grab a sundae, ice cream special, burger and fries or anything else on their menu and need something quick order, give them a shot. read more

First time there today.. very friendly and clean environment... very professional staff... not really fast food, but not a standard restaurant... kind of a Culver's environment... good seating, TVs to watch... very large menu with a good variety of food, malts and I believe some ice cream choices... I had the bacon cheese burger meal... excellent tasting and nice size burgers... a large portion of food for a reasonable price ... it's a family owned restaurant .. very well runned business... Honestly, a better fish fry than half the taverns I've been to. Three big pieces is beer battered cod with a ton of fries, cole slaw and a slice of rye bread! Guess what??? They aren't as good as advertised. Ordered over the phone about 20mins before closing. I arrived and my order was not even started. They excuse was "we weren't sure you were coming" so I had to wait an extra 10mins for them to prepare it. I ordered it on flat bread, and to be toasted on the panini press. Kraverz has as an excellent rotating menu of frozen custard, and daily specials. If the wife and I order from here, she tends to order a cheeseburger and lean more towards the gyro. Although good but not great, but you will not be disappointed by the amount of food you receive in an order. However, on April 7th I decided to change it up and go for their Chicago dog. It was mostly baseball inspired, rather than a change of habit. This is not the first time I had ordered the item, but the first time reviewing it. Again, you will receive a good amount of food if you order the combo. The bun was soft and true to a Chicago dog style, as well as the hot dog being Vienna brand. The rest of the condiments also complimented this menu item. However, I was missing the celery salt, that would have given it a little push over the edge to be really good. It is probably a personal liking, but it does add a flavor that I can recall from the vendors in Chicago. The service has always been friendly, and their food service can be a little slow, but they do grill all their burgers and other items when ordered. It is worth the wait. Kraverz is plain on the outside and inside too, but it is clean and the food served is excellent. For a fast food place the size and variety of the menu choices is huge. Kraverz has the feel of a small, family business. The vibe as I walked through the door, was very much, like a restaurant in a small town that strives to be like, dare I say, Culver's. But to make this comparison is not fair to Kraverz, which was a million miles ahead, in terms of, food quality. The menu is unique, in that, they have gyros, served with delicious, homemade tzatziki sauce and robust tomatoes and onions. I saw the 4 piece chicken tenders on the menu, and I thought to myself, why is it only 4 pieces? I posted a picture of these mongo chicken fingers. They took up an entire 10 inch plate. They were clearly hand breaded and fried from fresh. The chicken fingers were the bomb! I ordered a large fry and it was a mammoth portion. The prices are comparatively higher, but the portions match the price in my opinion. The custard was pretty good, too! read more

Pros: There is a huge food and custard menu to choose from, from burgers, to fried chicken, to fish and gyros. Food tastes pretty good; I've had better burgers, but it'll still good. Weekly specials and good variety. The staff is usually courteous and the food is ready quickly, whether eating in or taking out /calling ahead. Cons: Recently, I've noticed that the value doesn't seem to be as good, especially for things like the appetizers and specials. We ordered the mac n cheese bites for $4.85 (or something like that) and got 7 small pieces of deep-fried-something. Same thing for onion rings. Yes, they are the thick-cut kind, but you only get 5 pieces, which didn't really impress me. Maybe I'm just being picky... My husband and I stopped at Kraverz for the 1st time ever yesterday, 5-1-19. The burgers were awesome! The coke was an excellent mix! The service friendly, the restaurant clean, the prices fair and the wait-time was NOT unreasonable considering how busy they were. I even remarked to my husband that the buns were the best I've ever had ... Far better than Burger King's (where we usually go) or McDonald's. I am willing to drive the extra miles to eat there and we are both looking forward to our next Kraverz burger. In my opinion, this fast food restaurant is one of the two best in the Milwaukee area. Kraverz is in a far northwest suburb and the other is in a far southwest suburb. I wrote a lengthy review earlier, but YELP's filter put it in the filtered section. It's worth reading. I am a regular customer at least 5 days a week. They make a variety of great salads and I find it cheaper and easier to pay the nominal price than to gather all the ingredients and make it myself. I read all the reviews on this establishment, and I have to disagree with the review who said he saw a cook drop a hamburger on the floor, pick it up, and throw it back on the grill - not possible! You can't see the grill from the counter or the drive thru window, so that is definitely a falsehood. It will be worth your while to click on "filtered reviews" and read my full report. read more

Their food is delicious. I had a take out order today and when I got all the way back home - 30 away, I discovered that they forgot part of my order. Note to self - always check the bag.... But the reason I'm only giving them 3 stars is because when I called to let them know of the mistake, I was cross examined by the person answering the phone. "Kraverz, may I help you", me - yes, may I speak with a mgr please. "Who is this?" me - Jessica. "what do you want Jessica?" me - I'm a customer and I'm trying to complain about something forgotten on my order.
