I'll start by saying we generally love Firehouse subs. However, our experience this time was AWFUL! I should have known when I walked in the door, the store was not busy and yet I was not greeted. I picked up my online order, which was in two bags, though the printed ticket said 1 of 1. I was glad that I had looked in the bag and not taken for granted that the whole order was in the one bag as it was marked. My order was for 4 large sandwiches. NONE of them were edible. EVERY single one of them was completely drenched in mayonnaise and/or dressing. My daughter was literally (yes, in the literal sense of the word) wringing her sandwich out in hopes to be able get enough dressing and mayo off that she could still eat it. Absolutely disgusting! She ended up throwing it out. The other sandwiches were all overloaded with mayo to the point that they couldn't be salvaged. It's a shame to say I spent nearly $60 on four sandwiches, traveled 45 minutes one way to get supper, and still ended up cooking at home. Also, I tried to call the store to let them know what had happened to see if they would resolve it -- they didn't even answer the phone. My advice, skip the wreck and head over to Jimmy John's. read more

Best specialty subs in town --hands down. This is where I go when I want a quick sandwich. And I usually go for the Italian.

They now have a (medium) sized gluten free bun. Which is great do to my intolerance. I have always loved the hook and ladder sandwich. Perfect blend of flavors and cheeses, it just melts in your mouth. This location has always been great with friendly staff and quick service. I prefer firehouse over subway 10/1. But thats just me. Yay!! Paducah finally got a firehouse subs. They're the best sandwich shop in the US! Not sure if it's the bread or the steamed meats and cheese. But I will go out of my way to go here. The food is consistently the same all over the country. I don't care for the tuna salad but most everything else is tasty. The Engineer is my fave! To establish a baseline for subs, I like Jimmy Johns, I tolerate Subway, and I prefer not to eat Quiznos. I was impressed with their 500 calorie or less menu. I ordered the turkey and cranberry for 495 calories minus onion. I was nervous as several other restaurant's light menu is sub-standard but wanted to be "good". I also am usually not in favor of heated subs so when I saw them heat my meat I cringed a bit. I must admit I was pleasantly surprised. The size was about 4" long, bread was squishy fresh, and the cranberry sauce was more like a jelly. If I was blindfolded and tried this sandwich, not knowing what it was, I would have guessed a PB & J sandwich on white. When really it was turkey on wheat. They were not freaky fast but one of the staff may have been new and I was in a hurry so not terribly patient. read more

I was driving around and noticed this one across from Hucks, and I was the only customer who walked in to this Firehouse and I didn't hear the usual "Welcome to Firehouse" that I and every other customer normally get at Firehouse. Meatball sub was on the small side for the regular. I usually have it run through the toaster twice, but I don't think the man working the subs did that. Firehouse subs is good when everything is the same quality and the Meatballs are fresh. Yes, it's pricey for what you get, but Firehouse is better than most sub places, but this one was just okay. read more

Great sandwiches at a great cost. You can't go wrong here. Why even think of going to Subway and getting a soggy horrible sandwich if for the same price of their sandwich you can get a great sandwich, chips and a drink. Delicious! This isn't just another Subway. They definitely have their own flavor and almost everything is fresh and delicious. The Engineer is my favorite. It is piled on fresh bread with shaved turkey, shredded lettuce and mushrooms. The only reason I said almost and didn't give a 5 star rating is that my husband I ordered chicken noodle soup and it was barely warm and was very sour from what tasted like vinegar. It didn't taste spoiled but I have never had a pungent vinegar seasoned chicken noodle soup before and hope never to again. That is the only thing I have ever had there that disappointed. read more

Hubby and I love this place. It is a little higher than your "typical" sub place but this isn't your "typical" subs! I have tried several different subs here and all have been delish and stacked with meat.! I do order the large but only eat half and bring the rest home for later.My all time favorite is number 10, BRISKET!!! (Hubby's favorite also) Also love the fact, you can choose or sample all different kinds of hot sauce. (Approx. 30 different kinds to choose from) They are labeled 1-10 according to heat. I am a little sad that I used all the Cheech n Chongs mango habanero over 6 months ago and they have not replaced it. It was by far my favorite sauce! read more
