I really enjoy their Hook and Ladder. But when I walked into the place, a worker was wiping off tables, then without changing his gloves, went right into handling food. His nose and lip piercings didn't help. I hope all the employees don't have that work ethic. Will be choosing a different location for now. read more

Never been one to review but after the terrible experience with the food and the customer service I had to. Ordered online only to have the subs swimming in sauce, not toasted, and smashed. It looked like someone had pranked me. For nearly 30 bucks I would stay far!! I will never come here again. Definitely telling everyone as well. It's gross here and I should have known how dirty the place was when I came to pick it up, no gloves on the staff, and who knows what. Management wasn't any better. Rather than give a refund they kept making excuses and were extremely rude. Keep telling us it was our fault for ordering. I've never heard this in my life. Then said the only thing they could do was make the food again. I'm sorry but after this experience, it's not worth the time or effort. Now I'm out for 30 bucks and dinner but as Management did it was my fault for ordering food from them. Asked to speak to someone that could do something and was told no. For years I was a bigTubby's fan, loved their steak mushroom foot long. But over time their quality and quantity began to deteriorate. When they closed a number of locations I realized that's why they went downhill. Then I discovered FIREHOUSE SUBS!! What a joy! Extensive menu from subs to salads and great side items to satisfy any hunger pains! Staff very friendly and proficient. So it's a solid sammie place. I had a hot sub, the New York steamer with hot pastrami and corned beef. It comes with melty provolone and an eye raising combo of mayo mustard and Italian dressing. Ummmm delicious. Shockingly delicious sauce combo. The meat worked too, especially for a non deli. The freebie pickle? Smelled and tasted really great. The meatball was making my dining partner happy. I am not a huge meatball sub fan (marinara makes everything soggy as hell) but this one makes me want to order one next time. Really good quality especially when compared to a Subway or the like. Not gourmet but a definite step up from average, at least on our two picks, which according to the staff member we chatted "are the best things here". Service was friendly. I just received our lunch order for my co-workers. Not ONE of the 10 subs was marked indicating what it was. Usually Firehouse Subs puts numbered stickers on each sandwich container and that corresponds with the receipt they attach to the bags of food. Therefore letting me know what was what. Not this time. So, I was left opening up and picking through each sandwich to take a guess as to what it was. I called the store and spoke to the General Manager, Danielle. She said, "Oh, I'm sorry". That was it. No offer of anything to compensate for their shortcomings, no comment saying that she'd check with her crew workers to see how that happened. She could not have cared any less. I've had 5 different types of subs here at this new Firehouse, and I've been impressed with all of them! Good quality ingredients and good flavor are their mainstay! They still need to work on their process and speed. It seems as if the ordering and production lines are laid out 180 degrees from how they should be in relation to the entrance/exit. This causes people waiting on orders to linger within the seating area many times. I've been here about 6 times in the past year, and the food is always good quality. Unfortunately, the service tends to be on the slower side. The workers taking orders and making sandwiches are always kind and courteous, but their managing staff members are poor at providing customer service. 3/6 times I have been there, I have witnessed a managing staff member being rude to a customer or causing a scene in front of house. Took my family here. Very nice people, but the food was bland and they screwed up my order. Instead of telling me they messed it up, they made me wait, came to my table 20 minutes later and said "sorry we messed it up the first time". I don't mind having to wait, but I'd prefer to know why before you hand me a new sub and then explain the situation. There were about 8-10 people working the sub line and I think they produced about 6 sandwiches in 30 minutes (that's one every 5 minutes). Firehouse Subs is in a great location. The facility is larger, very clean and well decorated. The Cheesesteak with Mushrooms and Cheese leaves a little to be desired. Not a lot of flavor and the cheese just disappears in the filling. We asked the manager about the cheese and he said that's how it is. They only have chips as a side, but they have a terrific Pop machine. The employees were friendly, but not really helpful as they all seemed inexperienced. I can go 3 stars and I'll be back... Stopped in for dinner at this location for the first time a couple of days ago. I ordered the medium Hook and Ladder and my wife had the Turkey Bacn Ranch. Service was quick and very polite. Got a lot of help from the staff as to how the menu is set up and what we order. Sandwiches came out pretty quickly but we were the only patrons in the store. Both of our sandwiches were very good. The medium size is pretty big and both had plenty of meat and fillings. Both had a nice combination of dressings that were flavorful. You can get chips, soup and cookies or brownies as sides. Prices are okay but our lunch for two with combos was $18. A little high for me. If you do not want fries or other sides these sandwiches are pretty good. One of the girls came around and explained the menu to us and made it clear that we could pretty much customize any sandwich that we wanted. I agree with the other Joe V. that the sandwiches were a little bland. In their defense, they offer a ton of different hot sauces that you can apply on your own accord, but hot sauce isn't something I normally eat on a sandwich, so I passed. This is going to sound ridiculous, but their soda machine is unreal. Maybe these things are old news, but I had never seen one. It's like a digital Coke machine. It has Mello Yellow Zero - and in different flavors. I'll probably come back just to use that again. Overall, I want to give this place another shot. I'm giving it 4 stars because the service was friendly, the place was clean, and they deserve the benefit of the doubt. This is my go to store during the work week. Super fast at lunch time but the quality is still top notch. The only reason I took away 2 stars is because they are always lacking on the weekend. I took a coworker to lunch today and they had no sweet or unsweetened tea available the entire 1 hour and 15 min we were there. Their tea is one f the main reasons I go there so for them not to offer it on the weekend is a star losing event for me. Also they put onions in my sandwich which it clearly does not come with. Just love this sub shop. We come to eat at least once every two weeks. The hook and ladder sub it's the best, the meat is so tasty and the sub bread they use is really good and fresh. Also tried the meatball sub which is also really good. The only thing I don't care for is the new modern fountain coke machine, the pop seems to be more full of syrup, the pop just tastes bad wish they had a regular fountain coke machine. I only review the men's bathroom of restaurants. This bathroom is a single person bathroom with just one toilet and one sink. Good faucet and a movement operated paper towel dispenser. These are the good but the bad is what you notice. The floor looks like it's cleaned once a week, if that often. Nasty residue in every corner, cracked tiles and a general run down appearance make this an unpleasant place. read more

My husband and I usually come here after a work out and we never have problems but the past two times we came we had the same cashier and she, well, basically she's really moody. Today, we came in and my husband ordered a large sub and in the middle of his order he decided he wanted a medium instead of large, the cashier, being moody she replied "well you said large." My husband politely asked her to make it a medium. Towards the end of my order I said oh and "a" drink. She didn't even bother to ask what size we wanted and assumed we wanted large and gave us two cups when we asked for one, instead of apologizing she went ahead and tried to justify herself that we said two cups, again very rudely, we didn't even bother to address the issue that she didn't even ask what size we wanted. So, we overpaid. We love Firehouse subs but the management at this location should take a deeper look, I mean they had a bag of garbage welcoming every guest in, pretty disturbing. read more

The service was helpful and explained the menu and made suggestions, the pop machine is unreal (120 flavors), and it was clean and had a decent lunch crowd. My sandwich though did not meet my expectations. It got the new chicken salad sandwich on the menu. It does not resemble anything close to a chicken salad sandwich. It was like a coleslaw with some chicken cubes in it, and there wasn't much distinct flavor to it. I will say though that it was very neatly put together and the bun was nice-- way beyond what Subway could ever produce.
