Stopped in for lunch and the sandwiches didn't disappoint! I'm always impressed with restaurant employees that you can tell are happy to be there and there definitely was a standout employee today! I don't know his name, but he was calling names for orders and bringing them out. He was just generally a nice guy and had a smile on his face the whole time we were there. The girl behind the counter with the long ponytail and piercings was flat out rude to him and he didn't let it get to him. Great job dude! read more

I was so glad to see Firehouse come to Tyler, as I had previously experienced these great subs in Shreveport. Jersey Mike's used to be my favorite sub store, but they're just not that great anymore, and you never know whether you're gonna get a great sub, or if they are going to rip you off, trying to peddle a Subway sub at high prices. Not so with Firehouse. They consistently make great sandwiches, with generous meat portions, at very fair prices. I have yet to be disappointed by Firehouse. read more

This place is a joke. First, they play a little bait and switch game showing a poster of a low calorie sandwich in the window and then when you try to order one the cashier pulls out a dinky little roll and says " they no longer offer it as pictured" will this do? they are knowingly advertising something they don't offer. Second they WILL NOT make a large sub with mayo on half. Owner says the computer won't allow them to do that! Hopefully someone else will take over this location. read more

We were drawn into this establishment when we saw a kid spinning around a sign on the side of the road...so props to the management team on your PR decisions! We walked in and were instantly bombarded with a choir of people shouting "WELCOME TO FIREHOUSE!!!" We didn't realize this, but it was the opening weekend and they had about 20 people working behind the counter and in the sandwich making area...it was crazy! While waiting in line to order, a man who seemed to be the manager or owner chatted with us and recommended the most popular sandwiches. We took his bait and I ordered the turkey bacon ranch (the female favorite) and my boyfriend ordered the cheesesteak (the manly favorite). They have one of those new cool soda machines with the touch screen that allows you to add a variety of flavor mix ins to all the sodas. I got a vanilla diet root beer...random! They also had a wide variety of chip selections to go with your sandwiches which included Funyons! When is the last time you had some of those?? Our food came out relatively fast...probably because of the 20 people in the back working hard. Both sandwiches were really good and I left feeling overstuffed and wishing I had ordered a kid size! The sandwiches had about 2 inches of meat on them so they were pretty hearty. My only complaint was as I mentioned above - they greet every customer with a loud "WELCOME TO FIREHOUSE" and during the lunch rush we probably heard it once every 2 minutes which made it hard to have lunchtime conversation...but I can't really knock them for their friendliness! Have supported Firehouse Subs since opening in South Florida. I have not been able to find Matouk's Hot Pepper Sauce since leaving South Florida and know I can find an array to choose from at Firehouse Subs. Not the best location for entering store. It is not directly off a major road, you can see it from the major road, however, you have to drive around and come in from the back side of Location. Caution, some very poorly maintained roads pot hoses beyond pothole size. Come on City of Tyler Street Maintenance and Repair they have been like this way to long. This of course is not Firehouse fault. read more

I recently tried Firehouse for the first time and it was great. The employees were patient while we were looking at the menu and even offering suggestions. I tried the Italian sub which was delicious and it had the right amount of meats, veggies, and dressing. The Italian dressing and seasonings really made the sandwich stand out. I have never tried the new Freestyle soda machine before, but after a brief time was able to operate it with ease. I love all the different flavors you can add to enhance your soda! I would recommend to try this place, it is a little more pricey than Subway but tastes better and the overall quality of the food is wonderful. Not to mention the atmosphere is great and relaxing. Give it a try! I think you will be pleasantly surprised! read more

my new favorite sandwich shop!!! try the Italian sub

My first experience with Firehouse Subs was at Fort Hood and it was wonderful, from that one time, I KNEW I had to see if there was one local to me...there was, but it wasn't half as good. The first time I visited this location, the service lacked, I was the only customer and was treated like I crashed their super secret club meeting, they clearly didn't want me there and even though I called my order in 25 minutes beforehand, it wasn't ready, I only ordered 2 sandwiches, nothing else. The sandwiches were poorly assembled with soggy, inedible bread...and even though I asked for the condiments to be on the side since it was to-go, it wasn't on the side, that's the key to keeping the bread from being soggy, the dressings/mustard needs to be on the side. The second time I went, I called my order in and again, ordered 2 sandwiches, (condiments on the side) I went to pick them up, this time there were a few other people there...I gave my name, he rang me up and it wasn't enough, I told him I had 2 sandwiches, he said there was only one on the order, I told him I was given a total of $20.67 for my order when I ordered by phone, so someone knew I ordered two sandwiches...he asked a few of the employees about someone else and where they were, they looked at him like he was crazy...he turned to me and told me I could go ahead and order the other sandwich if I wanted, I declined and left, I didn't have time to wait, that's why I called the order in. My husband didn't give feedback on his sandwich this time, good or bad. I don't see us returning. read more
