Firehouse Tavern - Honest Review We stopped in because one of the ladies in our group was craving sweet potato fries. Unfortunately, when we arrived, we were told they're no longer on the menu--even though they still appear on the website. Our waitress explained there's a new manager and they currently don't have access to update the online menu. The atmosphere felt cold and very empty when we arrived, so we asked for something warm to drink. The only options were Coke products, so five of us settled for simply a cup of hot water. There were nine of us total, and the food came out sporadically. We tried to wait until everyone had their meal, but the timing made it a little awkward. On a positive note, I ordered the House on Fire Jalapeño Popper Burger. It came with crispy bacon, cream cheese, and jalapeños. The menu said the jalapeños were deep-fried, though I only received soft ones. However -- the burger was cooked perfectly. I asked for medium, and it came out pink inside, which told me the patties are made fresh. My side was the homemade potato chips, but they were just dry fried potatoes without much flavor or crisp. Once everyone finally had their food, the waitress disappeared. I ended up going to the bar myself to ask for water, and was handed a plastic cup with no ice. We didn't see the waitress again until she came around with the checks. The good news is: They do take credit cards The restaurant is wheelchair accessible -- but only if the correct parking spot is open. Once the lot fills (about 10 cars), the incline makes it nearly impossible for a handicap van to park safely. My burger, fries, and cup of water came to about $15. Overall, I'm not sure I'd return. My friends seemed to enjoy their meals, but between the missing menu items, slow service, and lack of warmth in the atmosphere, it just wasn't the experience we hoped for. read more

Went to Firehouse Tavern in Copley. The burger was and cooked just how I like it. But man, the vents were dripping right on our table, which was annoying. Portions were kinda small, left me hungry. And the food took forever to show up. Good burger, but the Fries looked great were inedible. How I don't know. read more

Overall, 4 stars. A welcomed addition to the Copley neighborhood. We have frequented their other location in Sunbury for years. Knowing what they're capable of and the potential here helped my rating. The service was, "meh" for lack of better term. Definitely the low point of our visit. Server was sweet but did not know the menu. We ordered beers and she disappeared for over 10 minutes before returning with our drinks. Our appetizer and meals came out together, rather than appetizer first which was frustrating. Pork rinds were cold and drowning in seasoning. So I would not order them again. Our burgers were fantastic. 10/10!! We'll be back after they've had some time to sort things out. read more

Fun place to grab a quick beer or stay and eat dinner! My recommendation: stay for dinner! Their menu has many great food choices on it. Start with pretzel hoses and cider or beer, split a sandwich or entree with someone, order another cider or beer and order the dessert pretzels. Portions are large here. You might want to order the dessert pretzels just for yourself. The staff is super nice, helpful and friendly. Very attentive. My wings were delicious and seasoned well. My spouse enjoyed the tenderloin sandwich. All good here is freshly prepared so allow a few extra minutes for your food to arrive at your table. Will be visiting here again soon. read more

The Firehouse Tavern is a local place in Copley and we went for dinner on a recent Friday evening. In terms of personality - it's a tavern and sports bar with lots of drink specials and screens in a room with a fairly low ceiling. They have classic tavern foods like burgers and flatbreads, but with a surprising number of lobster options - a Mac and Cheese that was delicious and satisfying, a Lobster Chowder and a Lobster flatbread. I ordered a Buffalo Chicken Wrap and it was not the best. It was filled with a generous portion of chicken but too light on the sauce and not mixed together very well. The steamed broccoli side and waffle fries were excellent. Our server was friendly and attentive. They had a live musician on Friday - a very talented guy playing blues, which was a plus, but also kind of loud for the space and maybe not the best choice of music during the dreary winter months. It's a small tavern with outside tables and bar and tables inside. I ordered the Tavern Salad, a perfect vegetarian choice. The small side of macaroni was delicious. I will go back to try many other things on the menu. read more

A typical bar, our server, Asia, was helpful and polite. The food was terrible - burgers were ok, gyro meat was like shoe leather- everything was cold. They charged 2.75 for fries with sandwich, they were cold & soggy. Our bill for two rounds of beers, burgers and two gyros for 7 of us came to 200+ with tip. The atmosphere is nice and the waitress was very friendly but we had to wait well over an hour to get our food. My fiancée really enjoyed her pirogies and kielbasa. I got the chicken wrap and I did not care for it. The wraps come with nachos but for an additional charge you can upgrade your side. The food was definitely not worth the long wait. read more

Fourth time here and this was the worst. No prices on menu. Smells smoky. Ordered a order of wings, a fish and chips and an appetizer trio. The apps came with the three items as well as several tenants of French fries, nuggets, etc. change the oil folks! Wings were ok, not great. Wife fish and chips were lukewarm at best and the coleslaw tasted spoiled - when she told the server about it - he said that they changed the recipe! The new recipe must include rancid mayo. Bill came to $52.00 plus suggested tips of 20%, 25% and 30%. Servers answer on the coleslaw question cut it to 10%. One other thing, time isn't helping them... it gets worse every time we go - both on food quality and service! read more

Went for a burger on a Sunday afternoon. Was definitely a bar crowd today. Loud and obnoxious. Patrons smoked outside, right by an open door. Smoke just blew right in. The server kept saying they were understaffed, which accounted for the mediocre service. Should have left then. But I stuck it out and ordered a burger medium rare. Came out burnt. The home made potato chips were cold. Overall, it was gross. I live 2 miles away. Wanted this place to be decent, at the very least. Not even close. I won't be back. read more

Fire House Tavern has been a major disappointment. This is the only place you can order Asian chicken and get no chicken. This is the only place where they cook mozzarella sticks so long the mozzarella melts out the end leaving an empty shell. If you like potato chips, better bring your own as these are stale and inedible. Bottom line- If you like waiting a long time for subpar food, this place is for you. First and last time patronizing here. Food bland and to go orders were completely wrong. Ordered boneless wings and got bone in. So my son had to de-bone them so he could eat them. Wife got side salad with wrong dressing. The best part was the food order receipt showed that I had ordered boneless wings and the right dressing. This place is a disaster. 0/5 stars. I have never had a worse experience. Waited over an hour for cold food. Hamburger ordered medium was light brown on the outside and cold and raw inside. I did not send it back because I was starving at that point, ate maybe half the burger patty and then started to feel sick so I just ate the bun and condiments. When the waitress cleared out plates I showed her how raw the meat was and one of the managers came over and comped the burger. I didn't ask for that, but at that point I was thinking I would give the place another chance once they figure things out. Then the kitchen manager came out, some 20 something who proceeded to EDUCATE me about what medium is... that I ate too much of the meal to have it comped... that she is exhausted from trying to teach people how to cook... that we should come back mid-week for a better experience. Then she proceeded to add the cost of my burger back on after it had previously been comped. I have worked in one of the finest restaurants in Akron, I use a sous vide all the time and I am very familiar with what proper meat temps are. Seriously run away from this place. First time we tried this place. Nice atmosphere. Our server was absolutely great too. Had fried pickles, chili, salads, wings and mac and cheese for the kids. All things that aren't difficult to mess up but aren't always legit either as it's all bar food we tried. BUT everything was on point. Chili was really, really good. I was excited to try this new addition to Copley. We went at an off hour and had slightly slow, but friendly service. They were accommodating to kids and offer free meals for kids on Monday evening. The pretzel bites were okay, but my chicken tenders were excellent. I highly recommend the sweet potato fries. Overall, a good experience and we are planning to come back. read more

Been here a few times since it has opened and I only have good things to say. Food has been good, beer cold and the staff has always been great. The restaurant is pretty new and it appears the negative reviews are from when it first opened. I hope everyone will give it another try now that it has had some time to figure it all out. My family and I live down the road and wanted to like this place so badly. We were so excited and so hopeful and were deeply disappointed. Our bill was over 100$ and over half of the food we received was burnt, raw, and completely inedible and the service was poor. Our concerns with the quality of food and service were met with dismissal and unprofessionalism. I'll start from the beginning we tried to order pickle chips for an app but were abruptly told that they were out of pickles. Okay, no problem so we ordered Buffalo chicken dip. We requested drink menus and our waitress instead began listing off the drinks multiple times so we chose summer shandy in a pitcher. The waitress brings out all of our party of 5's drinks and informs us that we cannot have the summer shandy in a bucket. Okay, fun we order bud light. Our Buffalo chicken dip comes out super watery with what looks like to be cottage cheese in it and no chicken. We inquired about it to the waitress and she immediately dismissed our concerns stating "even when you make it at home the cream cheese doesn't fully melt". None of us ate the dip as the taste was as bad as it looked and after bringing up our concerns to the waitress the stated "I guess we can Comp it we have some new people in the kitchen and I don't think they made it right".. Skip forward to receiving the food and everyone in our party got their food accept my step father. My step father waits 10 minutes with no sign from the waitress and encourages us to start eating without him. My brother ordered the 20$ steak which is the most expensive thing on their menu and ordered it medium well. His steak came back in cooked, completely pink, and was cold on the inside. My BLT had little to no bacon. My mom's burger was completely burnt and crunchy. My moms loaded potatoes were almost bare. My fiancé's wings were only half covered in sauce. But hey, we were willing to let pretty much all of that go, we just wanted my brothers steak to be redone due to him not being able to eat it because it was raw. The waitress comes back and we explain the situation. She takes back the steak (mind you we still haven't gotten my step dads wings out yet). The next time that the waitress comes back my mom expresses her concerns about the quality of food as she would rather let them know and give them the chance to rectify it rather than the alternative of just never giving them our business again. The waitress looks at my moms potatoes and said "oh my gosh those aren't loaded at all I'm taking them back". My mom was like honestly just leave them it's fine now I just wanted you to be aware. The waitress takes the potatoes back anyways. My mom also wasn't able to eat her burger because of how burnt and hard it was but she chose not to say anything. One of the managers comes out and begins yelling at us in an exasperated tone stating "what don't you understand about the loaded potatoes not being able to get cheese on every level that's just ridiculous, I'll throw some more on but that's just not how they come" and then he stormed away in the most unprofessional way. The waitress then comes over and starts talking about how it's taking so long because the owner and a customer got into a bar brawl WHILE THE OWNER AND CUSTOMER ARE OUTSIDE WHERE THEY CAN HEAR HER. After over a half hour my step fathers food finally came out. My brother's steak took over 45 minutes and then came out in a carry out box and my moms potatoes were never returned. The waitress then tells us that they are comping 20% of our meal stating "now your bill is only 98$". We paid 120$ including tip for a meal that OVER HALF OF OUR PARTY COULDN'T EVEN EAT. If you're going to price your food higher people expect at least edible quality and marginal service non of which occurred and it WASN'T EVEN MADE RIGHT. We work hard for our money and eating out is a treat for us and we were highly disappointed with the quality of service and food and how it was handled by management. read more

Stopped in for a business lunch and was right on target. Good burger, friendly quick service and fair pricing. This is definitively more sports bar than gastropub / tavern but menu, decor and service all land about right for a sports bar in NEO. Avoid the hassle of Montrose and try the new place in Copley. Next time I'm going to try the wings as that's the measure of a good sports bar. read more
