I've lived in the Akron area my entire life and have known about Ido Bar & Grill for more than 20 years. And somehow, in all that time, I had never been inside. Not once. It just never really caught my attention. Then Lobster Fest happened. My boyfriend started seeing their ads all over Facebook and got curious. He asked in a few Facebook groups and on his personal page if it was actually worth trying, and the response was pretty much unanimous: GO. So we grabbed another couple of friends, made a reservation, and finally walked through the doors. First impressions? I was genuinely surprised by how large the restaurant is inside. It's beautifully decorated, comfortable, and has a completely different feel than I had pictured after driving past it all these years. I started with the Summertini, which was delicious, but honestly...the drinks were just the opening act. THE FOOD. I've only ever had lobster once before--a tiny bite that I remember being surprisingly good. I'd never had enough to actually order a full lobster dish, so I decided Lobster Fest was the perfect excuse to change that. My meal came with a side salad and I'm a huge fan of White French dressing so I was very happy to hear that was their house dressing. The salad was a nice blend of greens with fresh shaved cheddar and delicious house made croutons! The salad was a great start to my meal!!! For my entree, I went with the Lobster & Steak Fettuccine, and I am so glad I did. The portion was HUGE, and the Alfredo was exactly what I want Alfredo to be: rich, creamy, cheesy and loaded with garlic. And there was PLENTY of it. No sad, dry pasta happening here. The steak was seasoned perfectly and cooked just right, and there was a generous amount of lobster throughout the dish. Every bite was better than the last. And apparently, I wasn't the only one at the table making good decisions. The Lobster Bisque was absolutely packed with lobster. The Lobster Stuffed Mushrooms were delicious, and my boyfriend ordered the lobster tail and was completely obsessed with it. Basically, there wasn't a bad decision made at our table. The funniest part of the whole experience is realizing that I've apparently been sleeping on a fantastic Akron restaurant for TWENTY YEARS. ‍ I'm honestly a little annoyed with myself. But I intend to make up for lost time. We'll absolutely be back--not just for another featured menu (a lot of people suggested their Mardi Gras menu), but to work our way through the regular menu, too. After one visit, I already have a list of things I want to try. So, Ido Bar & Grill...you've officially gone from "that restaurant I've driven past for 20 years" to "why the hell didn't I come here sooner?" If the food is a key attraction to Frank's, their secret weapon is the staff. They're lovely people who will know your drink of choice and seem like old friends before long. I can't say enough good things about them. And if all that weren't enough, there's karaoke every Sunday night that has to be experienced to be believed. I can't say I've been anywhere else where a local parish priest belts out Frank Sinatra tunes... but that's just a Sunday night at Frank's Place on Market.

I've had 35 Brix about 5 or 6 times in the past year - once eating in and 4 or 5 times catered at work. I could have sworn I would have posted a review of my food from 35 Brix by now, but according to Yelp, I have not yet. Long story short, it is a nice place in Uniontown, Ohio with a pretty extensive menu and are okay at catering work lunches, but the food always sounds better then it actually tastes. In the 5 or 6 times I've had lunch from 35 Brix, I have been disappointed in my food 2 or 3 times. The one time I have eaten in, I got a chicken flatbread pizza and enjoyed that very much. However, when ordering my catered lunch of choice, there have been as many hits as misses. Memorably, the reuben sandwich was wayyyy to wet and a bit weak on the meat. Fries can be floppy and unseasoned as well. I do remember enjoying their Cobb salad and was impressed at the freshness of the produce. However, the one time I ordered the Berry Crunch Salad with Blackened Shrimp, I was disappointed to see how stingy they were on the shrimp. For $21, I was expecting more than 3 little shrimpies. As for the lunch from today, (February 11th, 2026), I was feeling like being a fatty but also a health queen and ordered the prime rib wrap (light sauce) and a brix wedge salad as my side (no blue cheese or dressing) which has an upcharge. I had ordered a brix wedge salad back in August 2025 with feta instead of blue cheese and it was quite good. Sadly, my wedge salad was not a winner this time - too few vegetables and they put the blue cheese in there, despite me asking for them not to include it! It was very hard picking out the blue cheese and kind of ruined my salad experience, ngl. My prime rib wrap was a little better. They listened and put the sauce on the side (#healthqueen) but this $16 wrap was a bit skimpy on the prime rib. Tasted good though. So 35 Brix isn't a 5 star joint for me, despite some of the good meals I have had here. They tend to mess up orders from time to time too. I do recommend trying their food for yourself though! Some of the items are quite creative, like the sweet potato pizza or the bougie pierogies! I do wish to try one of their cocktails too!
