Sizzle your taste buds with this great steak!!!

Sizzling New York Steak and Chili from heaven, WOW, what a treat! We haven't been there in years but decided to return just to see if it is still as good as we remembered. We were not disappointed!!! This is not a luxurious place, just a down to earth great place for delicious food in a casual atmosphere.

Stopped in on Monday night for some beers and appetizers. They were busy! They've added outdoor seating in front, which is a nice touch. Despite the crowd, we were seated and waited on right away. We ordered beers, quesadillas, and mozzarella sticks. The beers were ice cold, and the quesadilla was packed with chicken and bacon--super satisfying!

Nice location on the square in Sunbury. Not what I expected, but cool, hip, neighborhood place. Jamming Pink Floyd (surprisingly a group of elderly ladies only other customers). Was waiting a while before anyone acknowledged me. Ordered carryout... update that part later. Nice selection of drafts Guy hitting his vape at bar kind of rude (showed up with bartender at 1130) Ok, I guess bartender was late so a server took care of me!? Carry out food: (5 minutes to home) Mac and cheese was cold and flavorless and dry. Burger (the reason I went) was well done and then some. Again no flavor, bun was dry on the edges. Chicken tender meal with fries. The best part of this order, but just ok. Maybe better at dinner, when everyone is awake Don't go at lunch.... Too bad, neat little spot

Firehouse Buffalo Chicken Wrap (I did the inferno sauce). (Cubed grilled chicken) Very good

Just another visit So there I was, stepping into the Firehouse Tavern, a place where the walls are decked out in enough firehouse and military memorabilia to make you feel like you've just enlisted or joined the local engine company. This isn't your average bar - this is a blue-collar, no-nonsense, get-yourself-a-cold-one kind of joint, and I loved every second of it. I came for a quick bite, but what I got was a full-on taste-bud rescue operation. I ordered the chicken wrap with their hottest sauce, and let me tell you, this thing was like a controlled burn--just enough heat to make you sweat, but so delicious you keep coming back for more. By the time I was done, I was convinced that their sauce is the kind of stuff that could make a fireman drop his hose just to grab a bite. But here's the kicker: It was so good I couldn't stop at just one. I ended up ordering a whole spread to go, like I was trying to feed an entire battalion. When I walked out with enough food to feed my friends (and probably their friends), I felt like I was bringing back supplies after a successful mission. If you're into great food, cool vibes, and a place that honors our heroes, Firehouse Tavern is the spot. Just be prepared to leave with a full stomach, a fiery mouth, and maybe a to-go order that could feed a small army.

Grease glistened with fries not drained but dumped and cold. Fryer basket had over cooked items served with my fries.

Parking is difficult. (Street parking with other businesses.). We went at 1:30 in afternoon which was crowded. Our waitress, Samantha, was fabulous but they are always short of help (not our first visit). Chicken gyros n crispy fries but drinks. Gyro chicken was chilly. Fries were not drained n leftovers from previous frying came with them.

If they want to seat you in the back room - I suggest you just pick a different restaurant or come back later... The food is good but the service was really bad. I think if you get seated in the back room they forget about you and it takes forever to get service or attention. We started off with pretzeI hoses which were ok. I had their version of the French dip which was really good. Wifey had their fish and chips which was really good. Their Mac and cheese is really good. It took literally an hour and a half to eat there... I think I would have been better if we were seated in the main dining area but oh well.

Chicken Tender Basket with Straight Cut Fries (unfortunately did not get much fries)

We ordered takeout tonight and got burgers, wings, and a chicken, tender basket. Most likely I would've given restaurant a 4 to 5, but on the chicken, tender basket there was about eight fries. So just attention to detail. It also has been nice if the hamburgers would've come with fries, but they came with potato chips that pretty much no one eats. The burgers were good, and I think the wings are definitely a recommendation. I ordered a dry rub (normal) and my daughter got barbecue boneless which she liked.

Edit: I'm not sure what has happened to one of our favorite places. We visited on a Friday night and it was certainly not like it has been in the past. I understand it's a "tavern", but it was so loud I could hardly have a conversation with my wife sitting next to me. They had the music playing so loud that others had to scream to talk to one another. I was happy to leave after dinner and my ears thanked me. It was like walking outside after a loud concert. Plus side, was sat immediately, food was good as well as service. Unfortunately, probably losing a loyal visitor. Over a year ago..... We have been here a few times and it's always been worth the 40 minutes drive north. We were super lucky to snag a seat outside on the sidewalk last night and the weather was beautiful, the service was excellent and the food was amazing. It's one of our favorite Not So Close To Home little gems. So much so we have discussed moving up this way to be closer to this great little town and it's people.

Stopped here after a long day of shopping at Tanger Outlet. There was no hostess so we sat our selves but a waitress appeared immediately. She took our drink orders and promptly brought them out and then we all ordered food. I got chili, wings, and a burger, my dad got a burger, my one sister got a BLT, and the other got the teriyaki lettuce wraps. Portion size is great, could barely finish my food and my dad didn't finish his. Sisters both finished their entrees and absolutely loved them. My one sister said the chips were a little burnt but other than that, great. The lettuce wraps were an appetizer but plenty enough for a meal. The burger was cooked perfect and you could tell it wasn't some frozen patty. I also substituted sweet potato fries and they were amazing, especially the cinnamon sugar dipping sauce it came with, to die for. Prices were great, service was great, food was great, definitely found a new go to after the mall and outlets.

The ambiance was definitely vibey and perfect for socializing, with a lively atmosphere that fit our group of 13 well. Unfortunately, everything after the hostess stand went downhill on the service side. Our server felt disengaged from the start and rarely checked on us. It was hard to tell if we'd said something wrong or if he was just having an off night, but even after asking other staff members to send him over, he never came back to check on our table. With automatic gratuity already added for a large party, it was disappointing to experience such minimal attention and care. What I had: * Mediterranean Salmon (shared): The portion split felt more like 75/25 than an even share, which was a little odd for something asked to be split. The salmon itself was decent, but the hummus quickly overpowered the dish if you mixed everything together. * Teriyaki Ribeye: I requested medium rare and received a steak well past well-done, dry enough that it was basically inedible. It almost tasted like it had been reheated rather than freshly cooked. Since our server never checked in, I had to flag someone else down to get it replaced, and the remake took about 15 minutes to arrive--even though the cut was thin and already marinated. * Old Fashioned: The cocktail came out quite watered down, with very little depth of flavor. I would've asked for it to be remade, but again, our server was nowhere to be found. The bar program also felt surprisingly limited for a place that leans into a social, cocktail-forward vibe, which added to the letdown. Between the uneven service, lack of follow-through, and several misses on the food and drinks, it's hard to say I'd rush back--especially when there are so many other strong options in Columbus.

The Met has a policy that your server gets to proudly wear a crown if their name is mentioned in a five star review. Love that policy!! Wear it proudly Ashely!! The Met is a unique building downtown Lima. It was built in the late 1880's and was originally home to the The Metropolitan Bank. It has since been morphed into a restaurant with very attractive original features. The wood floors and plaster ceilings...along with the attractive decor really enhance the dinning experience! The team here is very friendly, professional and welcoming. Ashley was outstanding. She hustled, knew her menu and had great recommendations. Ashley was very attentive and helped us enjoy the evening. I appreciated Liz stopping by and welcoming us. Liz shared lots of history and helped us appreciate the facility. The Met has a large food menu that has something for everyone. They have a large selection of beverages and specialty cocktails. All at reasonable prices. We started with a couple of Mule drinks. One was a designer St. Patrick's Day Mule and their specialty Met Mule. Both were very tasty, cool and refreshing . We started with the Focaccia bread appetizer. It had a lightly golden/chewing top with a soft and moist inside. Liz said that they make the bread fresh three times a day. The bread had a slight olive oil taste with a mild amount of Italian herbs. The soft whipped butter was a nice add. The side salad had lots of fresh spring greens. There was a few tasty tomatoes and lots of stronger tasting onions. The thin Parmesan cheese shreds were an excellent touch. The house ranch dressing was very smooth/light/creamy moderately thin with a mild ranch taste. My wife had the chicken bacon ranch flatbread. The crust was thin and crispy. She really liked the ranch house made sauce and how it accented the meat toppings. I had the Met Meatloaf which had an outstanding meat flavor. The meat was made with Italian sausage which had a slightly spicy kick. It was moist and tender to go along the beefy taste. The smooth red sauce on top was slightly sweet & spicy. It accented the meat nicely. The mashed potatoes were real with lumps, eyes and minute peel pieces. Very smooth and delicious! The grilled asparagus had a slight crisp to go along with the tender stalk. Not much seasoning detected...just a nice olive oil taste. Overall a fantastic dinner experience. We sat street level and watched the pedestrians come & go while enjoying the decor of this unique facility! The menu is large and the food and drinks are outstanding.
