So I wanted to try their food after I seen the guy from Instagram that review food recommend this place. I ordered the wingette platter and my husband ordered the pork rib platter. The food was okay. I preferred my chicken to be fried with a batter then add sauce. When restaurant cooked naked wings they seem to be fried too hard for my liking but the sauce was delicious the Mac and cheese was too eggy and lacked seasoning. The greens were good but were dry due to lack of juice in them. I also purchased hush puppies they were delicious. The customer service was excellent which saved the review. The customer service was good. There wasn't any traffic so I didn't have to wait to order. I ordered the stamp platter; 2 pieces of fried catfish, candied yams, macaroni & cheese, 4 or 5 fried shrimp, and a fried shrab cake with shrab sauce. I saw the word "shrabster" and was like WTF is that!?! But also, I'm greedy so I had to try one for myself I know cold rolls and warm soul food sides don't usually go together, buuuttt I wanted to try them so.... Yea . My husband and and went there this past Saturday because my husband saw the "Stamped" review and had to try it. He got the Stamped plater with shrab cake, catfish, shrimp, and fries. I had the fried shrimp ( I don't eat Crab Cakes) with Mac & Cheese and yams. I also got some lemon pepper wings, cornbread, and hush puppies. We didn't get there till about 7:30 and they close at 8:00. The service was good, nice and friendly. When we got our food the gentleman encouraged us to check to make sure we got what we ordered and we did. So far so good. When sat down to eat after we got home. We live in Upper Marlboro, the food was still hot (we did have one of those cheap heat bags). The catfish, shrimp, (both were a bit salty), fries, cornbread, and hush puppies were good. Both were hot (butter sauce) even though marked as I ordered. Lobster rolls were edible, but on unbuttered and not grilled regular small hot dog buns. Great, comforting food! This is a small spot that's doing takeout only currently during the pandemic. For safety, you can order inside but then they ask you to wait in your car and they will bring your food out to you. My meal came quickly and was absolutely delicious. This place is incredible! Growing up in California I was denied the true experience of a crab cake for close to 30 years. After I moved to Maryland, that changed. I have had the wonderful privilege of trying as many different crab cake recipes that I could find, this though... So i'm actually going to say something positive about my Experience at The Firemans Cafe food truck today. #1 reason why people bad mouth small minority owned is their "lack of customer service" Ive never had this issue in all the times i've visited Firemans cafe. Today i visited the food truck after 2pm at the conclusion of the lunch rush and the guys were clearly wrapping things up and preparing to make their next move. They informed me out the gate that They already started cleaning up and let the grease out the fryers. They told me exactly what they had left that was fresh. It wasn't the fried catfish sandwich that i wanted lol. I essentially told them I really wanted fish and i appreciated their time. Before i could finish the statement i simply got an "Aiight we can take care of it. you want white or wheat bread?" I personally appreciate them for going the extra mile. And I was already returning customer because of the quality of the food and service I've received in the Clinton store.
