    Fried Shrimp 8pc Platter
    Pinky J.

This Spot Is A Whole Experience... Not Just A Meal. It Said They Were Closed On Sunday, I'm Glad I Called To Check & Find Out They Are Now Open Sundays. I've Been Wanting To Try This Place For Over a Year Now. FRIED SHRIMP PLATTER - $18 Came With 8 Pieces Of Fried Shrimp & Two Sides. I Chose Mac & Cheese + Fries. The Shrimp Was Lightly Battered And Fried Perfectly Not Heavy Or Greasy At All. Exactly How I Like It! FRIES They Were Okay, Did The Job. Personally, I Wish They Had Crinkle-Cut Fries, That Would've Taken It Up A Notch. MAC N CHEESE Really Good & Honestly Different From Anywhere Else I've Had. Comforting & Flavorful Without Being Basic. I Definitely Need To Try Their Crack Cakes Next Time Especially The One With Lobster Meat BBQ SAUCE OMGGGGGG!!!!!! Their BBQ Sauce Deserves Its Own Section. I Tried It On The Side & It Was Everything. It Immediately Reminded Me Of The BBQ From The Rib Man On The Street Corner In DC.... Brought Back So Many Memories. So Good They Need More Items With This Sauce, Period. The Staff Was Super Friendly & Had Smiles. Special Shoutout To The Lady Working As The Cashier, She Was Absolutely Phenomenal. So Kind, Welcoming, & Extremely Helpful. They Definitely Hired The Right Person To Bring Warmth To The Space. I Loved The Fire Station Theme. From The Fire Pole To The Phone & The Entire Setup, It Truly Felt Like A Real Fire Station. Super Clean, Thoughtfully Designed, And Very Welcoming. Great Food, Amazing Sauce, Incredible Service, And A Unique Theme That Makes You Want To Come Back. This Place Is A Gem.

I love this spot--you've gotta try Fireman's Cafe in Clinton, MD. The staff is amazing, the food is a solid 5, and I'm treating my admins using our 2026 morale budget. Jose will be taking care of us--cool guy, great service. They provide great music Bob Marley to be exact. Come on through, family. Peace and love!!

Friendly staff. Nice decor. Schrab cake disappointed. Catfish delicious just fry a little harder but I didn't ask so that's on me. Yams good & sweet. Shrimp fried too hard but good size. Mac and cheese ain't it, very salty and a flavor I never had in Mac before. Baked beans didn't seem fresh more like reheated. Short wait time.

Honestly , the catfish was good even though it was fried too soft for my liking. Mac & cheese , 5/10, has a nasty/funny after taste. Collards 4/10, not really much flavor , has a light vinegar taste but that's about it. I most likely won't return.

So I wanted to try their food after I seen the guy from Instagram that review food recommend this place. I ordered the wingette platter and my husband ordered the pork rib platter. The food was okay. I preferred my chicken to be fried with a batter then add sauce. When restaurant cooked naked wings they seem to be fried too hard for my liking but the sauce was delicious the Mac and cheese was too eggy and lacked seasoning. The greens were good but were dry due to lack of juice in them. I also purchased hush puppies they were delicious. The customer service was excellent which saved the review. I will give another chance hopefully it will be better next time.

The customer service was good. There wasn't any traffic so I didn't have to wait to order. I ordered the stamp platter; 2 pieces of fried catfish, candied yams, macaroni & cheese, 4 or 5 fried shrimp, and a fried shrab cake with shrab sauce. The best parts of the platter were the catfish and the yams. Everything else was a 7/10. There was more flavor needed and the shrimp were tough. The macaroni and cheese didn't have much seasoning to give a real review.

The Shrab Cake (Shrimp & Crab CAke) Platter is consistently AMAZING and is a VALUE. The people who work here are very accommodating and always take great care of me. Vintage decorations inside this carryout take me back in time and remind me of DCPS field trips. Definitely stopping any and every time I'm in Clinton.

    Brice G.

It's okay for overpriced "ok" food. The Yams had too much vanilla extract and the mac n cheese had too much egg. I ended up throwing it out. They do wingettes not wings, just wanna point that out there. The guys were sitting outside posted up lol. I probably won't go back. The place was empty. Service was good, no complaints, I cook so I know what's bomb and what ain't lls.

One was off and one was playing music from a music streaming service. The service started off a bit slow, but it picked up eventually. I ordered a Philly steak and cheese with a side of greens, French fries and Mac & cheese. It took about 25 minutes for me to get my food. With that being said, I recommend calling your order in ahead of placing it on-line. The owner, Kim, is awesome. She is very friendly and full of personality. She gets to know her regulars and loves her community. As for my food, there was a ton of it. The Philly was packed with meat. I really liked my sandwich. The Mac and cheese was delicious. Very cheesy. The greens were definitely fresh and did not taste like they were from a can. They were just like my mom use to make. There was a ton of food, and I could not finish it. I got a container, put my left overs in it and finished them off later that evening. I recommend checking this spot out for some decent home-cooked soul food.

I decided to use my insulated bag and wait until I got to my friend's house to eat. I love the shrimp and the salmon. They were seasoned well, but not to a point of tasting too salty, which can happen at a lot of soul food restaurants for me. Unfortunately, Toast does not provide customer service for this type of issue and directed me back to Carolina Kitchen. 4.5 stars. I cannot…read moreoverstate how friendly the staff here is. Very welcoming, very patient, very kind. Set a really great tone for my visit. There are surprising number of chicken options here for a place called, "This Is Seafood", but not quite as many seafood options as I hoped. I was really looking forward to getting an order of fried scallops for lunch and I was a little disappointed they didn't have them on the menu. I decided to get the Combo #4: 3 whole wings, 6 fried shrimp, and my choice of 1 piece of fish and side dish. For my fish, I chose fried catfish and for my side I chose hush puppies. The combo also came with a fountain drink. I decided to mix their house-made lemonade and house-made iced tea and it made the perfect half-and-half. The wait wasn't too bad, as the food was being freshly made. It was piping hot and crispy when I received it. Those shrimp were huge! Some of the biggest fried shrimp I've ever had...And not those butterfly shrimp either. Whole shrimp, and the tail was removed so I didn't have to worry about accidentally crunching on one of the shells. The catfish was delectable! Perfectly seasoned, delightfully crispy, and absolutely melted in my mouth. So good. I'm coming back for the catfish if nothing else. The wings were perfectly fried, nice and crispy, but they were a bit too light on the seasoning for my taste. And the mumbo sauce tasted too similar to barbecue sauce. I did not like that, so I ended up saving the rest of the wings until I got home to put my own mumbo sauce on them. The hush puppies were also really good. I like that they were fried perfectly and weren't greasy... Even after reheating them. Overall, my lunch cost me about $25 and it was enough food for at least two meals. Can't beat that. I'll be back for that catfish.
