Oooohhh Mmyyyyyyy F'ing God!!!!!!!!!! If I could give this place 10 stars I would! The food was so good I had to stop in my tracks and wrote this review! Idk where I been and why I haven't been here sooner! They got Carolina kitchen beat and that was my go to for good, quick southern cuisine. I loved their easy order system online if you didn't want to wait inside the establishment for your order you can choose that option. They even have a separate "pick up" section that you go to simply pick up your online order. The customer service was 1 of 1! Mac and cheese, Amazing!!!! Fried cabbage delicious!!! Smothered pork chop nice and tender and the chicken wings are flavorful and falling off the bone!!! I can't wait to come back to this establishment!!

Wanted to try this establishment for some years and finally took the opportunity. Arrived on a Saturday afternoon, between 3:00-4:00pm. I'm going to rate each item based on my experience.. Deep Fried Wings [8/10] - The best protein during my experience. Seasoned well enough. Fried Catfish [4/10] - tastes like it was cooked in old oil, barely can taste the fish. Shrimp and Grits - [0/10] A pool of grease, can't taste anything other than grease. Made my stomach upset after a few bites. Collared Greens [7/10] - Solid Green Beans - [8/10] - Pretty Good Macaroni and Cheese - 6/10 Edible but taste was generic, boxed but better than Kraft. Mashed Potatoes - [4/10] Very generic taste, like boxed/powdered mix Mango Lemonade [0/10] - Water with sugar, Absolutely nothing about it was lemonade or mango Cornbread [3/10] - Generic taste, dry. To be considered "Cast Iron Skillet Cornbread" is definitely an overstatement. Biscuits [8/10]- Soft and moist, pretty good Service was decent. Ambience was similar to a Carolina Kitchen, Don't expect a down home southern experience.

I wasn't even planning on visiting Ruby's Southern Kitchen... my daughter was getting her hair done nearby & I promised her a lil daddy/daughter moment & asked if she wanted to give them a try. I had heard of Ruby's before, but I'm never in the area, and this seemed to be as good a time as any. Maaaannn. I'm glad I did. Ruby's is like a dining hall style establishment with a pre-prepared assortment of dishes in chafing dishes that you can choose from. They had a bunch of soul food classics, but I was interested in the breakfast. I got substituted catfish in their shrimp & grits dish and got some scrambled eggs, and it was a hit. I wouldn't change a thing, it was a 10/10. My lil lady got chicken & waffles and loved hers as well. I tasted a piece of her chicken and it was seasoned really well too. We dined in and to be honest, our order took long, but it was so good, it didn't even matter. Ruby's made a believer out of me, and I promise we'll be back.

Honestly, I was floored by this place. The customer service is great and friendly. The restaurant is clean and nicely put together. It doesn't have any weird smells and plenty of seating inside and out. The food - chef kiss !! I got the wing meal with Mac and cheese + trinity !! The only two sides that are a must !! The wings were huge and still crunchy when I took my meal to-go !! I would definitely recommend and come back whenever I'm in town !!

Pulled up about an hour before closing on Sunday. Service was on point, the cashier had great energy, solid recommendations, and a welcoming vibe. Ambiance is solid, you order at the counter, take it to go or grab a seat--plenty of space to sit down and eat. Food prices lean high. My girl got the short ribs, $40. My plate was around $21. For the portion, I could've gotten more at a spot like Ella Ray's for a few dollars less. Wings were seasoned, fresh and hot, no complaints there. Cabbage? Out of this world, best item hands down. Yams were okay, I prefer them a little softer and sweeter, but not bad. Skillet cornbread was disappointing, no real flavor profile--not sweet, not hearty, just hot and basic. Bottom line, I will be back to try more.

I cannot say enough good things about this restaurant, it's phenomenal! The most wonderful staff, DELICIOUS food and lovely ambiance make this place a 12/10. Food tastes like it was made with love. The black eyed peas were my favorite! The staff are so sweet and welcoming. Will be back!

Stopped in this spot for a quick meal after I got my hair done. I really appreciate that the sides were made ahead of time, but most of the main dishes were made to order. The wait was not long, but my food was served to me hot and ready. I think they needed just a touch of salt and a little bit more creole seasoning but once I added some salt and pepper and the little seasoning when I got home, the dish was perfect. You can order in or take your food to go inside is very comfortable. They also have outside seating for beautiful fall days

Hey friends! I was super excited to visit Ruby's new location as I was a hugeeee fan of their first location. Unfortunately, this visit was subpar and disappointing. I ordered the Fried Shrimp platter($18). The entree comes with a choice of two sides and either a honey butter biscuit or cornbread. I chose Mac and mashed potatoes as my sides. The fried shrimp was seasoned well but overcooked. The Mac and cheese was good, the cheese blend was enjoyable. The mashed potatoes, as you can tell from the photo, were not delightful. Some added butter and seasoning would make them more delightful. The honey butter biscuit was satisfying! Perfectly soft and buttery. Customer service was poor. I was not greeted when I picked up my to-go order. The cashier just handed me my bag without a "have a good day" or anything of the such. Yikes. The interior is large and inviting. I loved the cultured art on the walls. Plenty of tables for dine-in. The restrooms were awful, there was a large amount of toilet paper on the floors. Parking is ample and free. It's sad to see some of my favorites restaurants decline post-Covid. Next time I'll order from the food bar instead of an online order. Hope you enjoy! With love, The Picky Pescatarian

Northern Virginia doesn't offer many true comfort food spots, so when I saw the signs for Ruby's Southern Comfortable Food, I had to pull over and give it a try! The interior is clean, bright, and beautifully designed--featuring vibrant murals, eye-catching artwork, and lush greenery that makes the space feel inviting and warm. I was warmly greeted by the staff who took my order: Ralph's deep-fried chicken wings with two sides: Robert's mac & cheese, Holy Trinity greens, and a side of cornbread. The wings were seasoned to perfection--crispy, flavorful, and juicy. The mac & cheese was the standout for me: baked golden brown, creamy, and bubbling hot. I loved it so much I ordered another to take home! While I typically prefer my greens made with turkey (no pork for me) and a more savory profile, they were still a nice complement to the plate. I'm already planning my next visit--next time I'll be trying another main with either green beans or cabbage... and I might just leave room for dessert!

I went to Rubys after church today because I was craving chicken & waffles. The first time I had Ruby's years ago at the old location the Chix and Waffles was divine! It was so so good. I was expecting that same experience this time at the new location. The Chix and Waffles was very underwhelming. The food was hot but lacked flavor. The waffle was kind of hard and The chicken was almost dry. I never had a dry chicken thigh before. I was so disappointed. I am not sure what has changed in the kitchen but please bring the old recipe back. What happened to the sweet potato waffle, sigh?! Besides my food, the staff was very accommodating and polite. The restaurant was packed so I grabbed a seat at the high top by the window. Food took about 15-20 mins to prepare.

Food was so flavorful! I will definitely return to try other items. I dined in during weekend brunch. The biscuit was so soft that it melted in my mouth. That honey butter of the biscuit is delicious. The fried catfish was perfectly seasoned. The mac n cheese was very cheesy, just how I like it. The yams were very good with a well balanced amount of sweetness. The sweet potato pound cake was really good, icing is sweet. The cornbread was regular, not served warm like the biscuit. This black owned business has some delicious food. Portions were large! The inside is spacious. They have booths and tables. I didn't really experience service except when I went to the counter to place my order. Restaurant looks very clean. Large parking lot

I went to Ruby's for lunch on Saturday with my brother and daughter. We live in North Carolina and my daughter in Maryland. The food was exceptional. I had chicken wings, collards, yams and cornbread. Everything was seasoned well and delicious. I was thoroughly satisfied. The food was so good we ate there again on Sunday. I ordered the same lunch in addition to potato salad. Most restaurants have commercial tasting potato salad but Ruby's tastes homemade. I was thoroughly satisfied with my favorite meal. Ruby's also has Texas Pete and some of the best moist cornbread. You will not be disappointed. I highly recommend Ruby's Southern Comfort Kitchen. The service was fast and friendly. There was plenty of seating and a quiet and pleasant atmosphere.

A really nice place to come and get some express breakfast. You can take it to go or grab a seat and enjoy. The restaurant is spacious and they have booths and table seating. The artwork is absolutely beautiful and the music is a vibe. Now to the food...... the bacon was nice a crispy, the eggs were fluffy and seasoned and the chicken was delicious. They have fountain drinks and good iced teas and lemonades. Conveniently located minutes from Bowie Town Center. Stop by and enjoy!

Let's try these chicken wings with corn bread on the side.

Jerry's Seafood is located in Bowie near the Bowie Town Center and there was ample parking. We came in and were shown to our table. The ambiance was minimalistic Cap Cod vibes with wood beam walls with touches of nautical items (ship wheels and pictures of tin-canned oyster containers). Our server, Eddie, was excellent. He was engaging, informative, and just had a wonderful vibe throughout our dining experience. He started us off with a basket of rolls: hot and fresh with softened butter. Our meal was starting off just as we'd hope. We started with the fresh crab dip which was rich and creamy topped with jumbo lump crab, chives and a touch of Old Bay served hot with a sliced baguette. This was my first time experiencing a crab dip so LIGHT and creamy. The Old Bay was not overwhelming, just the perfect compliment to the fresh, sweet jumbo lump crab. The baguettes were more than enough and were crisp on one side and soft on the other. This dip was exceptional. Next was our entree, the crab bomb was served with two sides ( we got the seasoned wedges and stewed tomatoes). The stewed tomatoes were fresh with a sweetness that brought back memories. The wedges were perfect: pillowy soft inside with a crisp seasoned coating. Now the crab bomb....this was exceptional: 10 ounces of all lump crab, baked to perfection; no need for additional seasonings or even a sauce; maybe a squeeze of fresh lemon. It was so sweet and delicate; one of the best I have had in a while. We also got a Mariner's Platter to go: a six ounce crab cake, flounder, fried shrimp, steamed shrimp, fried oysters, and fries scallops with two sides ( we chose two garden salads). The platter was a bit skimpy for $63 and it was just okay for us; the scallops were not edible AT ALL: they had a metallic taste that was present on the first bite, that was disappointing (this dropped our score from a 5 to 4 stars). The salads were fresh and we got the honey/lemon dressing. That dressing was SO good! I usually don't go for creamy dressing like this, BUT this dressing was so unexpectedly good! All in all, a great meal that I will drive to Bowie again for with no hesitation (except for the Mariner's Platter).

My wife saw they had black bean soup and a pork special, so we decided to stay and were seated. Since our last visit about a year ago, they've made some changes. The seating has been updated, with a second bar added along with high-top tables and booths. The space looks very nice. Our server came over, took our drink order, and we asked for a bowl of the black bean soup. When he returned, my wife asked how the pork special was, and he said it was very good, so she ordered it. I ordered the cod fish and chips. When the food came out, everything looked good at first. Unfortunately, the fish and chips were very greasy -- it seemed like the fries were placed on the plate to soak up the grease from the fish. My wife's pork dish was worse. She was given two slices with connective tissue running through them that were so tough she couldn't even get a fork into them. The other piece was also extremely tough and difficult to cut, and the gravy had no flavor. When our server finally came back to check on us, my wife showed him the pork. His response was simply that he would let the manager know and take it off the bill. There was no offer to replace the dish or bring her something else to eat. After that, we never saw him again. My wife eventually asked another server for tea, which a different server brought. Later, another server came by to see if we were finished. I asked how much the eggnog was, and she quoted the price for a bottle, said I just want a glass, she said I'll get you a menu I explained to another waitress I just wanted a glass. Eventually, I got it -- though I asked for it without ice, and it still came with ice. At that point, I just drank it. The best thing was the bean soup. Overall, this was not a good meal and honestly the worst experience we've had in the 10+ years we've been coming here. Between the food quality and the lack of follow-up from our server, it was very disappointing. It will be quite a while before we return.

So we drove a good 30mins to get here, with anticipation from seeing this restaurant on a travel channel, but the original location is in NY. We get there, and its plenty of free parking. We ask for seating for 3 and we are told they are only seating individuals who booked a reservation. Totally understandable considering its Valentine's day. I dropped the ball folks. I didn't make a reservation. So I noticed a bar lounge which we were told we could wait for a seat to open up. As we were waiting a coupled jumped in front us and took a seat. The manager Claudia came to the rescue like the dark knight but with more grace. She mentioned she was willing to put us on the list for a table in the main dining area. I accepted her kind gesture and continued to wait for bar lounge seating to open up. A couple was kind enough to come over to us and ask if we were waiting for bar lounge seating. They offered their table to us as they were ending their night. There was a 2 man band playing in the lounge area that was very soothing to the ear. As I tried to help my mother get comfortable at the hightop table, I noticed she was having a difficult time getting seated in such a high chair. Guess who came to the rescue, you guessed, Claudia! She's the best, 100 grand, made me a real fan. So she came over and said our table was ready if we wanted a booth seating and we all know that's the best seats in the house. All I could think is look at God. The wait wasn't even long either. 10 out of 10 for saving the day. In addition our waitress was such a sweetheart. I mentioned a white malbec I saw on the menu that I was astonish to see b/c I never knew of such a thing. She bought me a small glass to taste and my God, I am a true believer Jesus turned water into wine. Its so clear like water but the taste is amazing. The food is so delicious. The restaurant is very clean. The staff is very personalable. Everyone cartered to us. You would have thought we were the Obamas or something. As we were stuffing our faces, Claudia comes around handing out roses to the men/boys to give to their dates. Complimenting my son and his daper outfit she hands him a rose and tells him to give it your mommy. At the moment he lights up with a big smile as if he paid for the rose himself. I can tell he felt like a gentleman and good that he could give his mother a red rose on Valentine's day. That small gesture was very thoughtful and appreciated. I apologize for my essay, but they desired it. I love the service, the ambiance, the food, and service. I haven't seen my mother smile so much in a while. So it bought me great joy to give my mother this experience on Valentine's day. I thank Nonna Angela's staff for such a wonderful experience.

It most definitely won't be my last visit. The decor was so welcoming. As if you were eating in an Italian restaurant in Tuscany or your favorite Nonna's kitchen. The food and drinks were fantastic. From the hot fresh bread with fresh garlic, vinegar and oil, to the perfectly cooked pasta, to the sweet cannolis. Magnificent.

For the amount of money that a party could spend on crabs, drinks, you name it, I think it is highly inappropriate for a server to not be attentive to the table as a whole - just not when they are dropping and leaving items at the table. A $100+ priced table I'm talking about. But aside from that, the food itself was delicious. Their calamari might be one of the best I've had in the state. Their grilled wings were delicious too, actually giving that named grilled flavor. 5 stars would've been great, but... come to my table to get your 5 stars. I would also think, that if someone is not coming to my table and ultimately looking for a tip to leave with, if there is nothing to tip for... I would think that the business as a whole, would lose traction - from server employment and satisfaction, to the overall Crab Shack income.

We ordered mozzarella sticks, mussels, grilled wings, calamari, and steamed shrimp. Off happy hour We ordered 1/2 dozen crabs. The happy hour food was really good/flavorful. The crabs for us were okay. They were hot, the seasoning was great, but they weren't as meaty as we would've liked. We would definitely go again for happy hour! We had a mango crush and mojitos! Such a fun time!

I was introduced to this spot by some friends, and ever since then it's been one of those places I know I can count on. Whether you're going to celebrate something special or just looking for good food and atmosphere, this place is solid The vibe inside is chill low but with upscale energy, but overall just a great environment. On my last visit, I went with sushi since that's what I was craving, and everything I ordered was hitting. Every item I picked off the menu was flavorful and well put together. The customer service was 10/10; polite, attentive, and moved really quickly. I didn't get a chance to try any cocktails, but their cocktail menu looked solid. I ended up sticking with wine for the evening, but I definitely plan on going back to explore more of the menu and try a few drinks because they have so many options to choose from. Overall, I would definitely recommend checking it out if you want good food and great service.

Our server Efosa was quick to greet us and took our drink and appetizer order in. My girlfriend ordered a watermelon martini. Be careful the drink are strong but tastey at least according to her. For what its worth she a mixologist. Efosa checked back to see if we were ready to order but with all the great choices of what to order we needed a little more time. He gave us a few minutes and when I looked up and he seen me looking he was back to take our Spicey Curry Fried Rice and General Tso shrimp order. The appetizer Crab Dip that we ordered came out in record timing. Followed within a few minutes of or entrees. The was hot and were flavorful. Efosa made sure to look our way overtime we went by to see if we needed anything. This guy is not only a gentleman but gets the whole process of making sure the guest are taken care of. There was plenty left over and we took some to go. We will be back.
