My friend's family had a small gathering at Fireside for a birthday party. We were in a private area that eventually would open up for dinner for guests. There was a good amount of space and they also have actual private rooms you can reserve. They ordered family style pasta with meat sauce, fried chicken, garden salad and pizzas. I only tried the pizza and salad but both were good! I heard good reviews for the chicken. We ordered drinks from the bar. It was the afternoon so not too busy, but as it got closer to dinner the bartenders were more busy and it took a bit to get a drink. Drinks were very affordable! The dining area has a neat fire pit which was cozy. Overall the decor reminded me of a supper club, could use some updates but charming. It's a nice place for a gathering or dinner! read more

Ordered spaghetti and meatballs via door dash. Meal arrived hot and well packed. The pasta was cooked perfectly, the meatball was ok, the marinara was horrible. It was thick, brownish red, and had a scorched aftertaste. The salad wasn't very fresh; picked out brown lettuce. The creamy garlic dressing was delicious. I was served rotten meat on 10-18-25...a filet mignon or so they called it. There is no way that while this vile piece of meat was on the grill or even prior to that, that they didn't know what they were serving. Everyone at the table (7) could smell it...the smell of rotten meat. It's been 4 hours and i can still smell the vileness! The owner should have comped our entire meal! He offered a drink and another steak...are you kidding me. I will be calling the health department first thing tomorrow morning. The soup was served cold, the lighting was so dim and I imagine it's that way so you can't see what you're being served. I am 57 and have never experienced anything like this in my life. I wouldn't feed my dog this shit! Everyone else in our group had mediocre to almost inedible food. DO NOT EAT AT THIS GARBAGE PIT. Health department will be shutting this place down. I was visiting my sister and decided to go out for dinner. It was my sister's first dine in experience since the pandemic hit. We thought since it was a rainy Sunday night, the restaurant wouldn't be too busy. We were wrong. The restaurant was hopping. I was so happy to see this classic restaurant was BAAACK!!! My sister was a bit nervous with the crowd but the seated tables and booths were spaced out nicely. We had a great experience and my sister was glad she came. Service was exceptional. They were very short staffed and I could see everyone pitching in. Our server was so sweet and helpful. She was working the room like a pro and always made time to give us personal service. Bravo to her! Our food was fantastic. It was better than ever. The portion sizes were very generous and the recipes were fantastic. The mojos were crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. Our table enjoyed Chicken Parmigiana, Spaghetti, Lasagna and Gnocchi with meatballs. The homemade vinaigrette on my house salad that came with my entree is so good I wanted to buy some to take home. I love everything about Fireside Restaurant. The long history, north side location, easy parking, hardworking staff, delicious food and great value. If you have never been - go. We had a room reserved for an after graduation party. Service was seriously slow and the staff was frazzled and seemed to be annoyed at doing their job. The Broasted chicken was good but everything else was too salty, they messed up my order and put gross mushrooms on my Italian beef didn't get the condiments I did order ( hot peppers for the Italian beef and ranch for my fries) then completely over charged me. I reserved a room at the Fireside for a funeral luncheon happening on May 4, 2024. Had the room reserved from 1 to 4 for approximately 65 people. When we arrived at 1 we entered the room to find that the tables had been set but that was it. No water, steam tables and chafing dishes were not on and no food. I inquired about when the food was going to come out and was told people usually want the food a little later. I was then asked when I wanted it and told (the manager?), now. In the meantime the crowd headed to the bar. Only had 1 elderly bartender who was complaining of a bad back. Service was horrible. After about 1/2 hour some of the food started trickling in. At that point I was concerned that they were putting hot pans of food into cold chafing dishes drawing heat away from the food. When I expressed my anger and disappointment I was told they were short staffed and it's hard to get any help when they know the restaurant will be going out of business in the near future, to which I told her that it wasn't like they didn't know we were coming and if they couldn't handle the gathering efficiently they should not have taken the reservation. My recommendation to anyone thinking of booking an event here is to pass. They obviously don't care and are just trying to milk out any business they can before they close. read more

The fireside is a kenosha staple. If you are looking for a good Bloody Mary or a really good old fashioned then head on in. The bar is great it wraps around with a nice atmosphere. The food is very good, I have had the prime rib 3x recently and every time it is good. They sadly will be closing in June 2024 but until then enjoy. read more

The waitstaff is amazing. Andy and Rachel are great bartenders and a lot of fun. And always take care of us. However... sitting at the bar we hear the all the waitresses complaining about "Jimmy", yelling and throwing things at them. I've been coming here since I was in diapers and to know the new owner would let anyone talk to their staff that way is disheartening. Where to start. Multiple fruit flies swarming the table. Ordered breaded cod and got baked, which was flavorless. The waitress seemed bothered that she had to do her job the entire time. Went to the Fireside Restaurant and had a wonderful meal with my husband and 3 friends. Our server Rachael was quick and efficient and personable. I hope the next time we go we get her as our server again. The food was delicious. I ordered the Chicken Kiev on top of garlic noodles. Yum yum! I would order that again. My husband ordered spaghetti and asked for the server "Rachael" to put half of it in a container to take home and then asked to have some garlic noodles too. She brought a plate with half spaghetti and half garlic noodles and he was as happy as can be. When we were ready for the bill she remembered to bring the other half of his spaghetti for him to take home. Our friends all said they were happy with their steaks too. Great environment and great staples. Had their thick crust pizza (not deep dish) and it had the right crunch and flavor (I had gotten sausage and tomato toppings). I was surprised at the quality, but would order the pizza again. The large thick crust takes a half-hour to make, so keep that in mind. Great find! read more

If I could give it 3.5 I would. Went for lunch on Sunday. Someone in our party made a reservation but it was not busy and we could have gotten a table without any trouble. It did get pretty busy as the meal progressed. This is a very old style supper club that has a nostalgic '60 feel. The main restaurant and bar seems to be well kept up and in good condition. Service was really good. Our waitress was attentive and made sure we were well taken care of. All but one in our group ordered breakfast which is served until 5:00. I got the Fireside omelette which has Italian sausage in it. Very good and everyone else enjoyed their food as well. The sausage was great and everything was hot and cooked properly. The problem was that it took a very long time to get the food, 20-25 minutes. I suspect it was because there were two parties going on in the banquet rooms. The other issue I had was the men's room. I will say it was clean. However one stall was out of order. Didn't really affect me but out of 3 sinks one didn't work at all, one didn't have working hot water water faucet, and the only one that did work really didn't have any hot water. Makes me wonder how they employees are able to properly wash their hands. This lost a full star for me. You guys have a lot of plumbing issues. Don't waste another minute get these fixed! Good rest rooms are a hallmark of a good restaurant. read more

It's an old-style Wisconsin supper club. Maybe you're just too young to understand... I've been here a few times in the past year as a place where you know what you're gonna get. Within the confines you'll find a very Wisconsin decor. The service is good, but sometimes the waitstaff seem a bit overwhelmed with the number of tables they have to cover. The main reason Fireside gets a 3-Star rating is the food. The food is okay, but nothing special. You'll get your choice of an iceberg salad or an acceptable soup with your dinner. The main entrees that I tried were also just okay. The shrimp from the latest time was nothing more and nothing less than what you would expect from breading and deep-frying it without having any distinguishing features. The pizza that I had was really good and was half off for happy hour. I didn't really get to check anything else out. The place looked nice and the poor waitresses were taking care of our group. Well it's been a few years since I've reviewed Fireside and with this Stay At Home in effect, I had updated experiences to share. We ordered twice through DoorDash. Both times our food was terrible. The broasted chicken which is very good dine in, was dry and inedible both times we ordered. Yes, we ordered again because we were hoping it was a fluke. The first time, they didn't even send dinner bread. The garlic noodles were bland like butter noodles-no garlic. The 2nd time, the chicken was overcooked and dry. They sent NO SALAD DRESSING FOR THE SALADS. They DID give us bread the 2nd time....but only the garlic bread that we paid extra for. Also, we ordered French Onion Soup and it had spilled all over inside of the bag! If you don't know how to properly package up soup to go, don't sell it to go. We paid almost $6 for soup that was all over the bag and not much left to eat. Needless to say-that was the last time we ordered to go from their. What a shame... read more

Tonight was our first visit to the restaurant, and I wasn't expecting much. Husband wanted prime rib on a Monday night, and they were one of a few open who served it. The decor is dated, which I actually thought was charming, but didn't leave me optimistic about the food. Well let me tell you that if the owners never spent a penny upgrading the dining room, they never pinched pennies in the kitchen. The food was terrific, and the prime rib on Monday night was as good as you would get on Saturday night. The service was great, and now I understand why they have been in business for so long. I've been here 3 times in the last 2 years and last week will be my last attempt. The owner and staff are not friendly or at best forced. Almost like the stepford wives. The food was barely edible. 3 people in our group ordered Tomato Basil soup but they got marinara sauce. The same sauce that was in the overly microwaved lasagna. My father couldn't cut his with a steak knife. The waitress was all too accustomed to dealing with complaints and took the lasagna off of the bill. The Chicken Kiev was prefab. The salad was warm and plain lettuce. (Added charge for blue cheese but not told about this) The décor is shabby for the price point. This place is garbage, there is obviously no chef. Everything is either frozen or from a box and simply heated and served. I watched them serve a vegan option at a wedding reception that was just a giant bowl of frozen then steamed farts: broccoli, cauliflower, and carrots; no thought or effort went into it at all, just awful. I've been here twice now, once for a Christmas party and now on a date. Both times the waitress have been very slow, my water was empty for over half my meal and never got a refill. The only time we saw our water is when she was grabbing out menus and orders, then dropping off food and handing us the bill. The last time the food was alright, super small portions, I'm small and I don't eat very much, and this wasn't enough for me. All in all, I think the bar might be why people go but I don't think I'll be back. read more
