Incompetent and rude. I made an appointment to have my car inspected and oil changed. I was called at 2pm and told that the car would not start - I explained that the steering wheel needed to be in a locked position and to turn the steering wheel back and forth and the key would turn. I did not hear further. When I went to pick up the car (after paying for Uber to work and back) the mechanic told me that they had been calling me all day and could not get the car started. I had not received any further calls and showed him my phone log. He continued to insist that they had called and implied that it was my fault that they could not service my car. He kept repeating "I can't service a car if I can't start it." He said that I could bring it back the next day but would have to stay all day to start the car and be there. I am a doctor and cannot be there all day because a mechanic does not know how to start a car. He was rude, the woman who said she called me lied, they are incompetent and showed no willingness in rectifying their lack of service. I am extremely disappointed and would never return. I would advise anyone to find another place because these people are not interested in providing a competent automotive care . And of course my car started easily and I drove home. Took my wife's car here for general service. Oil dip stick was never put back. Went back to get front brakes and tune up. Left with ok service. Just dropped off at another automobile service center who tol is air filter was not there. I wonder if they forget wheels, or oil some times! Not going back. read more

Absolutely trash. The bolts for my exhaust manifold snapped off due to rust. I left my car there for them to check it out. I left my car there. Didn't get a call for almost a week.. They told me they could fix it so I said do it. Almost 3 weeks went by. I'm not a mechanic and typically I try to take it easy on working people who have a lot of work to do but cmon. They put a brand new catalytic converter in which I did not ask for and fixed the bolt situation barely. I went back when they said my car was done. They had parked my car on some little side street on a public road that isn't even visible from the shop. I had to go find my car myself. After walking around the tiny little parking lot like ten times the guy there was oh yea it's over there on so and so street. Didn't even show me like had to go myself. I'm not look for someone to hold my hand bit typically a mechanic service knows your going to review the end result immediately so that in itself was incredibly sketchy. That's not acceptable and completely unprofessional. My car still makes a noise from the part that was supposed to be fixed because they rigged it with some aftermarket part and not a factory part and didn't even seal it in any way. Do not get any work done at firestone. I didn't even argue because I needed my car. Save your time. I come here all the time mostly bcuz they offer dealer quality service at less than dealer cost. its a big box chain so they stand behind their work. my only complaint is wait time. this place does alot of business and is often packed so get here early. the staff is always professional. never any complaints. read more

A Regional Firestone representative contacted me quickly after I sent an email about my bad experience. After an investigation, I received a full refund of the service I did not authorize. The rep also apologized for the bad customer service. I'm very happy that it was resolved in a timely manner. My husband picked up our Subaru on Friday after waiting, which he should not have had to! We dropped off our car Thursday night so it would be done after they lost our appt. How do you do that? We were getting 4 tires. I wasn't going to post a review until driving the car and noticing that they are barely balanced. The car shakes so bad at 50mph. We are now out in KOP looking for another Firestone to get our tires balanced at. Our time has now been double wasted by this location. Not really the best place to go for anything. I went here for an oil change and tire rotation, using one of those fliers in the value-pack that you get in the mail. The coupon was offering an oil change for $19.99. Tire rotation is normally $20, but if you have firestone or bridgestone tires it is FREE. So I called up and asked how long the wait would be. I was told 1.5 hours. I ended up being there 2.5 hours, and frankly I should have been out of there in 2. I watched them take in my car, and figuring how quick an oil change and tire rotation is, I figured they would be done quick...bing bang boom. Not the case. Instead of these guys tackling one job, they each tackle two at a time. In my case, the second job he was tackling was a tire leak. Plugging a leak is usually quick, but when working a second job like an oil change, its not quick. Heh. At least the staff was friendly, and knew that I waited much longer than initially estimated, so they made the tire rotation free, which was nice of them. I will commend them on the fact that, unlike Jiffy Lube, they knew how to reset my car's internal odometer to track the 5,000 mile oil change. The parking lot is really piss poor. Good luck finding a spot, and just pray they dont ding your car while pulling it into the garage - it is a very tight lot! The waiting area was not the best I have experienced. Seats were hard, the tv was small, but they did have free coffee. At least this is located in a busy area, so with the amount of time it takes to get stuff done you have time to either visit IHOP, 7-11, or Dunkin Donuts. Did they get the job done? Yes, but I have been to many better places. At least it was cheaper than the Toyota dealer, who wanted to charge me $90+ for the same exact services. read more

Got a call at that time, all that was done was the oil change and the repair was not done and they were upselling a diagnostic that I wasn't interested in. Their excuse for not doing the repair: The guy that inspected the car was finishing his shift and would be back on Tuesday. Here I was, a customer who was being told that my time was not convenient for them. Mind you this was my only weekend off and they even wanted to keep my car. No way! I've had bad experiences here with delays before and thought I'd give them a chance. I stopped in for wiper blades and was told two of my car's control arms were torn and needed to be replaced for $1,100. There were no symptoms and I didn't ask to have my car put up and inspected. So I went to my regular mechanic who verified that the arms were not torn (only somewhat worn) and would likely last another couple years before needing replacement. read more

I visited the Firestone Tire & Service Center because I needed a battery for my husband's Luxury Mercedes. He had been ill for the past 7 months and had not been able to drive. I had no knowledge of what was needed to keep the car moving. The manager and staff helped me to identify the proper battery I needed for the car. My husband is usually responsible for caring for our cars but due to his illness I had to assume the responsibility. The staff and manager took time to answer many questions. The car had sat for so long. I staff made me aware of things covered by the Benz Dealer and others that I needed to address. I appreciate the time taken to make me aware and save me money. I was able to purchase the correct battery and have my tires checked. The car is safe and ready when my husband's health improved. Thanks for not taking advantage during a vulnerable time. read more

Horrible, deceptive, predatory staff in front. Incompetent mechanics. The worst run automotive repair center on the planet. Still waiting for a call back ,3 days later, on their extortion repair. Fully expect car to not be repaired correctly again after spending over $2000 for work that was ultimately not needed. Took the car in for a leak in coolant line, end up with thousands in front end work. Was told no leak in coolant line though. As good as any car maintenance place can be. Convenient location and hours. Usually pretty quick and even courteous. Been coming here for years and many friends do as well. Fair too. I'll be back. DO wish they had their own wifi (you can get on the McDonalds wifi from across the street, though)...They once did work on my AC and it didn't fix the original problem. The Manager and I were able to work out a charge that we both felt was fair to them and I...My first place to go primarily because of the convenience factor AND I do feel the Manager is honest. read more

The shop damaged two pieces of interior trim while replacing my tag bulb for an inspection. When I first called to air my grievance, I was told I would need to call back in 1.5 weeks when the manager was back from vacation (this developed into a theme). When I did call back on they day they had specified, he still was not in. The manager was amicable enough, but told me that to ensure I received the most accurate trim parts, I would have to order the parts, bring them in, and then be reimbursed. After discovering I would personally have to drive to my local dealership to order and pick up the parts in person, I informed him that, no, he would have to acquire the parts himself. Once the parts were in, I played phone tag with the manager, who frequently was "on vacation" leaving another technician who "had no idea what I was talking about," to field my request to drop my vehicle off. The initial drop-off and trim installation went alright. Eventually I was called to return for the second piece of trim. While installation was quick, it was not fully repaired. I now have a car with a wobbly piece of trim and a huge section that is distinctly removed from the body of my vehicle. I want to reiterate that the manager truly was amicable. However, his staff ranged from pleasant and helpful, to rude and ignorant (in the literal sense of not-knowing and unaware). I will not be returning to use their services, and I would caution anyone else from doing so. read more

Just went there today to get a hole in my tire plugged. I was pretty apprehensive, because every other place I've gone to when I have a leaky tire has told me I need new tires, so I've always just plugged my own. Couldn't find the hole myself this time, so I was resigned to probably having to actually shell out for the tires. Not so! I dropped my car off and about an hour later got the call that everything was finished. Very fast, very friendly. Only reason I didn't give five stars is that my car was unlocked when I showed up, which was a little unnerving, though it was right outside the office so I doubt anything would have happened. Please Stay Away! Please read before going to this place. Hello, everyone! So, two months ago I went to get my front passenger tire fixed due to a bad valve. The tires were replaced not so long ago so the tires had a warranty. Surprisingly, they found a nail in the tire said that was not possible to be repaired. They charged 100+ for a brand new one and for "labor cost". Two weeks ago I got a flat tire again and checked the valve stem and it was still broken. Today I went to the shop and did not mention that I had a broken valve and checked the tire beforehand for any damage. Two hours later they called me back saying that the tire had a nail near the edge (same exact problem from the previous visit) and that the brand new tire had to be replaced. I went to the shop and as I moved the valve stem it was still broken and leaking air. The mechanic staff acted nervous and surprised when I told them that it was a shame that they did not find this in the first place. Hopefully, I can help you all save your valuable time. read more

Yesterday I was at the gas station down the road from this firestone and the gas cap broke on my car. I had no way of opening the cap and was in desperate need of help. I drove down City Ave to this Firestone and pulled in as three of the gentlemen were packing up to leave. I told them my problem and they helped me remove the gas cap and advised I buy a new one at the local autozone. After hearing that I needed the part, one of the other gentlemen walked over with a cap that he had in his car and offered it to me. I offered to pay them however they wouldn't take any cash and just smiled and told me to have a nice day. Not only did they solve my problem but stayed with me after the store was closed to help. Went here to replace my two front tires and found out my two rear tires also needed replaced. My rear tires were bought from FireStone a year ago and had 15,000 miles on them. They were within the 40,000 mile warranty, but FireStone failed to honor this warranty because I did not elect a wheel alignment when I purchased the two rear tires a year ago. This was NEVER explained to me. I would have definitely spent the $70 on a wheel alignment, to save money down the road on two $250 tires. After spending money on 4 new tires and a wheel alignment I needed to get the wheels adjusted just two days later because they were not put on properly. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere, this place is a joke. read more

If you can find a better place, don't use this Firestone. These guys are irresponsible. Their price is good compared to others, but their service is one of the worst. These guys are just irresponsible. They'll fix whatever you tell them to do. I used this place a lot in the past. I did an annual inspection in 2015 for one of my cars. They didn't tell me anything although my battery was heavily corroded as I learned later on. The battery died one day shortly after the annual inspection. And I discovered a seriously corroded battery after opened the hood. This could have been avoided if they told me about the condition of the battery. Another incident was that they didn't put the oil cap back after they did a motor oil change for another car of mine. If you live close to this Firestone and need an urgent fix, they are OK. Otherwise, don't use them. read more

This was possibly the worst experience I've ever had with an auto shop. I took my car in for a simple spark plug change with a fuel system cleaning and an oil change. I asked them to take a look at the car because it was vibrating a bit between 30mph and 50mph. The car was returned to me in worse shape than when I took it in. It now shakes and vibrates at any speed, patricianly during idling. The car not only vibrates between 30 and 50mph, it now gets stuck in gear and the brakes pull when I brake in that speed range. They're starting to pull when I brake in other speed ranges, as well. My absolute favorite part: they didn't replace the metal topper to my fuel cup (beneath the gas gap) after they did the fuel system cleaning. I contacted customer service, and they called the shop, who called me and offered to "take a look at it" free of charge. Absolutely not. Why would I take my car back to a place that totally messed it up? I'm already having to be extra cautious when driving to work, dealing with a brake problem I didn't have before, and constantly wondering if the engine is just going to give out after whatever "work" they did on it. Not happy. Not paying the remainder of my bill until this is resolved. Do not go here. read more

Brought my car in at 77,457 miles for an inspection. They tried to get me to pay $730.XX for a water pump replacement. My water pump was replaced at 73,457 miles, so I highly doubted that it could be leaking (it wasn't). I won't be returning to this place ever again because I don't trust them. read more

Very poor service. Had an emergency, gas leaking from my car. And when I called to see if they could help me, I was on hold for 15 minutes when they hung up on me. I called back and they told me there was a $26 diagnostic fee, when I got there I was told it was a $113 fee. They knew I was desperate and concerned the car would catch on fire, so I agreed to have them repair the gas line. Then I get a call that they have to "drop the gas tank" to further diagnose the problem, and this would be an additional $286 fee!! I called my mechanic in Douglassville who told me to have it towed to his shop and it should cost around $100, and he laughed about the diagnostic fee!! I picked up my other car there today because twice this week it would not start (had to pay a garage near my work to jump it) and he found the battery, which I had installed at another shop in an emergency, was loose. He fixed it with no charge and no diagnostic fee. That's the kind of shop you want working on your car! Don't go to Firestone!! read more

I went to do a wheel alignment and it wasn't done properly. It was worse than what it was before I brought it in. I drove back and told them to fix it... and again it wasn't straight. And again they tried to fix it and can't do it right. The manager came to me to tell me it was done right.. and when I test drove it with him.. he said that's it must be some other issues and he wanted to charge me $$ to see whats wrong!!! I love how at the top of this page it says "schedule an appointment" as if they would actually keep your appointment, had a simple oil change scheduled for 1pm, made said appointment last week. They told me to come back at 5pm when they had more time so he could "knock it out" well this was not an option as they clearly forgot and wanted to keep me waiting till 7ish, needless to say I drive back and forth for no reason and still need an oil change. I took my car to get a diagnostic check never seen technician Paul move my car from the first spot where it was parked. The reason I am saying this is because the manager Ray came back with a charge of $623.00 for a coal and spark plug for the test. I asked the manager for a print out of whatever code that the diagnostic test came out to determine that the cost would be $623.00 I never received it. Then he told me ignorantly to find another store. He is not a manager just a bad person with a title. They also took my spark plug out of my car before I even agreed upon it . Dropped off my car at 6am for a simple tire change and went back after work (5:30pm) for pick up, only to find they had not even begun work on my vehicle. The man at the counter said it would be ready within the hour, but ended up waiting until 7pm for the job to be done. They gave me half off the installation ($35 discount) but for me this still wasn't worth a 13hr turn around time for a tire installation I had set up an appointment for a week in advance.
