I was traveling from out of town and my check engine light started blinking when I was getting ready to get on the highway to go home. I stopped in here with no appointment while they were slammed and the technician got me right in. Everyone was friendly and helpful. They got my car back together in under 2 hours. Firestone is just built different and helps make sure everyone's vehicles are safe to be on the road without pushing unnecessary services. This location was no different! Service Requested: Tire Rotation. I set up an appointment to rotate my tires at 8:00am. I arrived early at 7:50, when I tried to go check in, the door was locked and there was a hand written note on the door explaining that due to staffing issues they wouldn't open until 8am. "No Problem", I will just wait in my car for a few minutes. Two people arrived and stood at the door waiting to let in so when the doors did open, I was third in line. The first person steps up to the desk to check in and after looking them up in the system, the tech exclaims "I'm sorry I don't see an appointment at this Firestone for you. It looks like you set one up at another Firestone." then proceeds to take his request and checks him in. The second lady steps up. She also doesn't have an appointment, and the tech checks her in just like the first guy. I get up, I see you have an appointment at 8:00am, it is now 8:15am mind you, and after taking my keys I ask him how long it will take. He looks over at the other two people who don't have appointments, kind of shrugs his shoulders and tells me it will be a while. I ask for my keys back and leave. Never once did he tell the two people without appointments that he will have to work them in or tell them to maybe go to the correct Firestone. So disappointed. So maybe this would be a 4 or 5 star review if I didn't make an appointment and just showed up when they open. I bought a car jack and rotated my own tires. read more

The manger is rude and a not at all helpful,could definitely use better customer service, and 365 bucks to unhook a battery, that they installed a few months prior because my car coded, seems to say a lot about rip off places, I didn't see the bill until I got home because the rude guy in charge said he E-Mailed it, now I know why. I will take my business to other Firestones not this one in Canal Winchester. I will NOT be returning to this store (Canal Winchester, OH) as long as SHANE is an employee there! He is the absolute worst MANAGER ever and I've been a long time customer for 20 plus years! He is Just flat out rude! The previous store manager was AWESOME! I called Firestone customer service the same day that I left that store (as I waited for AAA Auto care to repair my vehicle) in the beginning of Nov 2025. I was advised that the Area Manager will call me within 2 business days. I hadn't heard from anyone within the 2 business days. So, I called customer service AGAIN the week of November 17, 2025, and was advised that Shane "made it right" (lies) in my notes and that's why I hadn't heard from the Area Manager. The Rep then said that the Regional Manager will call me by Friday EOD, 11/21/25. It's Saturday 11/22/25 and no phone call. I'm very disappointed with Firestone at this time. Hire leaders and those who enjoy working with the public. Our vehicles are used for our livelihoods and if customers can't trust that you will take care of us, there are definitely other options. Purchased 2 tires, installed, with road hazard protection. 212.48 for the tires installed with tax and 25.56 for the road hazard with tax. 15 months later, both tires had nails. I took them in to be patched/replaced, whichever they needed to do. Tires have 6/32 and 7/32 tread on them. The warranty covers down to 2/32 and they are 11/32 new. That's a little over half and a little under half. So let's say 50% tread left. (the warranty is prorated based on tread) So to have tires replaced that were $212 out the door new, with a 50% prorated warranty? $200. Paying $25 for the warranty saved $12 (6% discount) when at 50% prorated. Their reason? "You aren't understanding me, you've drove on them" I'll never buy another thing from them. read more

I had a oil change done January 17. The old oil filter gasket was left on my car when the new oil filter was put on. This caused my engine to run without oil in it ruining my motor. I received no help from Firestone to resolve this problem.i was even cussed out by there claims adjuster and told if I don't do the inspection his way my car will not get fixed. It has now been 4 months and I filled a law suit. They offered me money to go away and sign a agreement to keep my mouth shut. I would not recommend this place to anyone! I had a confirmed appointment this morning at 9 am, Kenneth who works the front desk, calls me 30 minutes prior to try to cancel my appointment. He said there were no techs available to address my specific concern, even though the store manager Josh confirmed my appointment. I advised him I would not be rescheduling. We get there. Its dead. It takes him 15 minutes to acknowledge us. Shocker. He has a terrible attitude. Shocker. Doesn't ask for any of my information or how he can assist us. Shocker. Demands the keys and storms outside. I go to stop him because I had an additional concern with my car and apparently he didn't like that. He decided he didn't have to deal with me and told me he would not service me. I asked for the information to who was above him and he refused to provide the information! He lied and said he was the manager, when he's not? Made us leave and threatened to have the police come if we didn't! All of this was in front of 2 toddlers. Also said Firestone needed better customers! Imagine that! This place has always given me great service over the past few years. I've had plenty of oil changes, got new tires and recently checked the alternator and gotten a new battery. They're never too salesy and they're courtesy checks can be great when to alert you if something is starting to deteriorate in your car. They also are always a lot faster on their wait times that they give. The place is constantly busy with servicing and they always give me great customer service with the advisors. The cost is not the cheapest, however the service is well worth the premium you pay on some of the repairs and products. read more

Wife took her car here and ask them to check out why her brake light was coming on. They told her it was the master cylinder and she needed to get her brakes check more often. The day after she hears loud noise from the rear of the car. Being a mechanic in years past I decided to get my hands dirty and check the rear brakes despite the fact they just told her the day before that they did. When I did I found rear pads with negative life left. In sum they made a wrong diagnoses and didn't even inspect the brakes but said they did. Or even worse they checked the brakes and didn't see anything wrong. I wouldn't trust this place to touch my car. I have pictures if I knew how to attach. read more

Went in for a simple tire repair for the rear driver side tire and confirmed that with them over the phone. Picked up my car and found out they fixed the wrong tire ("fixed" passenger side rear tire) that did not need fixed. Took the car back to get the CORRECT tire fixed (driver side rear tire) and was completed. They wanted to charge me for the 2nd tire to be fixed as well....even though they fixed the the incorrect tire the first time. They kept referencing that they had the passenger side rear tire as needing fixed in their original invoice even though i confirmed with them that the driver side was what needed done. read more

Beware of this Firestone shop in Canal Winchester. They will lie regarding your problem. I was burned for unnecessary repairs costing me $595, when the fix should've been quick and a lot less money. I was trying to rotate my wife's van's tires before we were getting ready to leave for a vacation road trip to Florida. I broke two of the lug bolts off on the front wheel. I called around and Firestone was the only place to get me in. I thought it would be a quick fix of putting in two new bolts with new lug nuts. However, they called me and stated that Toyota Sienna doesn't work that way, that I must replace the entire hub in the wheel with bearings. My first instinct was that they were lying, but my wife was upset with me and we had to leave for the trip, so I said, "Okay, fix it." and like an idiot, I didn't take the time to research it properly myself. That was earlier this year at the end of May. Service advisor there was Robert and the technician was Dan. I still have the invoice. I sort of forgot about it until this week, when I broke a bolt on the other side while doing some DIY repairs. This time, I'm like, "I'm not paying $600 again", so I started researching and found out that the bolts can be replaced in the wheel hub and the bolts are less than $3 each at any auto parts store. I went and bought five and hammered out the old ones and sucked in the new ones with my torque wrench (youtube video for how to do it with spacers). But then I thought to myself, "Those dishonest bastards at Firestone in Canal......", so tonight I had time to come do a review. I'll do reviews wherever I can and will NEVER recommend this place to anyone. They are totally DISHONEST folks. I hear Hartman's in old town Canal are honest people and do good work. Also, don't be afraid to do things on your own using youtube. That is the route I take for most issues. Parts are less than half of what these shops like Firestone charge you and the labor cost is saved, although you might have some stress added to your life for a day or two or three, depending on the problem. read more

I had oil change on 6/24/14 (217,250 miles) and they recommended replacing air filter. decided to save money and replaced myself on 6/28/14. got another oil change on 9/4/14 (221,174 miles) and they AGAIN recommended replacing air filter. Which obviously car did NOT need. started going to this facility after firestone in pickerington decided to leave out the dip stick on oil change I had there. this resulted in oil spraying all over my engine for 4 hours until I smelled oil burning! bottom line it's true you can't trust firestone to do job right or not try to up charge you things you don't need ...which they have a BAD reputation of doing. I've had a different, much more pleasant experience at this Firestone (Canal Winchester) than the others that have posted. I scheduled an appointment to have all four tires replaced with new ones due to wear, have an oil change (which it was due for), and have a burned-out headlight replaced. The service I experienced was spectacular. I brought my 7 year old son with me and told the manager (Mark Schuler) that my son wanted to watch our car being fixed. Mark told me that he and one of his other technicians would be doing the service for our car and, because my son wanted to watch, he would put the car in the bay right next to the observation windows in the waiting room. That was very nice. Mr. Schuler also explained the service he and his technician were doing every step of the way, for the benefit of both me and my son. I was expecting to have to get all 4 tires replaced, but Mark showed me that two of the tires still had enough tread on them to last for another 5,000 miles. He showed me the other two tires were worn all the way to the tread wear warning line and needed replacement immediately. The entire service took only an hour and the car is running perfectly! The car even runs quieter on the road with the new tires. Mark and his technician took the time to show me and my son how they change the tires and put new ones on. He also educated me on tire care and maintenance which all car owners should do (maintaining proper inflation, checking air pressure whenever there is a change in the seasons, rotating tires at each oil change interval, etc.). The service at this Firestone was spectacular and one of the best I have ever experienced. I will certainly be taking my car to this Firestone for maintenance and care again in the future! read more

Mark Schuler and his team went out of their way to accommodate me on a Sunday. Mark stayed in continuous contact with me throughout the day to keep me abreast of my vehicle. My front wheel bearings went out, and I had to be towed to the shop, on a Sunday. Mark and his team had me back on the road before the day was out--again, on a Sunday. I can not thank Mark and his team enough. They made me feel important, and they really showed that they care about their customers. I stopped in to meet them on Tuesday, with a box of donuts as a thank you. Mark and I did all the transaction via the telephone, and he made sure that I knew what they were doing throughout the day. I never once felt like I was being taken to the cleaners, or taken advantage of, which is very important to me when dealing with vehicle issues. He listened to me, made me feel comfortable, and ultimately got me as a customer for future maintenance. To get me as a repeat customer, take a lesson from Mark--he did everything right! read more

August 7, 2016 Took my car in because of noises I was hearing and was getting alittle worried. One company just checking the car out without really doing inspection said I needed front struts and rear shocks and that tires looked bumpy. Bumpy tires, never heard of it. Son did quick bounce check and thought struts where okay but said until he could check they might be leaking. Also some noise from tires going whomp whomp whomp. Just a big mess what going on and I wanted to get to the bottom of it. Because of the Firestone name I thought they could be trusted. I spoke with Scott the service advisor and told him all I heard and what I have been told and reading I had done on the internet. Told him I wanted this car checked 100% all over and to look at EVERYTHING! I told him I wanted an oil change and he added the car care package as well. The Technician Jeffery came out and with him and Scott standing there I repeated what I said above.The noises I heard, the problems I was told and thought it could be and I wanted this car gone over with a fine tooth comb. Within moments was told the front struts were leaking, needed back shocks and they would check other things. I gave them the okay to replace front struts, do oil change, and front end alignment. So from 9am to 12 noon and car was done! Wow alot of work and alot to check and this was pretty quick! I was told other things that needed to be done was: Mini bulb replacement, both plate lights, Air filter, Battery corrosion package. I had just had the battery cleaned at the last place I was at so I was not about to spend anymore on that.Other stuff I can replace. I was shocked, this is all my car needs with the noises and things I hear and what about the tires, the brakes, other things??? Not a word of anything else and nothing listed on paper work given to me. So off i go! The noise I heard when turning appeared to be gone but still heard the whomp whomp driving! When sitting still in the parking lot letting the car run I heard a vibration coming from the wind shield area and then all of a sudden the fan that runs for ac took off making a noise like it was going to blast off to the moon! August 12, 2016 took my car to a tire shop and asked them to check the tires because I was told some place they were bumpy and this strange noise i kept hearing when I went faster. They checked and said the tires needed replace (not bumpy never heard the term) but the tread was uneven. As they inspected the tires they found a slighly bent rim! Really, I just had this car at Firestone and nothing, not a thing said about tires and NOTHING said about a bent rim. Replaced tires and noticed the car was shaking and going to the right. Called Scott up at Firestone and requested that he do another front end alignment because I thought some thing was wrong. He went to tell me that the alignment was done and all was okay. After asking AGAIN he agreed. They checked it out, alignment okay changed tire from right to left and found out faulty tires and to take them back and get them replaced. I did just that! This time he gave me a print out of the alignment. Again sitting at work and hearing the noise in dash board, I went to do my laundry and decided to pop the hood to see if I could see anything. Oh I saw what the noise was right away. The air filter casing was missing a clamp! Every time I have the oil change I even watch the guys and tell them not to worry about the air filter because that is some thing I can do or my son can do. Yep, the last one to check this, FIRESTONE and clamp was gone! The casing was slighly open and vibrating, imagine that! Called Autozone up and they said they dont sell OEM parts but they might have some thing that will work. Went there and nope, nothing. They suggested I take the matter up with Firestone since they were the ones last working in that area. At this point I am just so mad because they didnt check every thing like I asked and then remember the comment Scott made to me before I left..He said to go a head and continue to drive the car like I have been and it might last me a little longer (what that comment meant I still dont know) .The young man from Autozone came out to car with me and I showed him what I was talking about, and he found the clamp clear down towards the bottom of the car! I was shocked! It took him a minute to get to it but he got it and put it on for me. Thank god for a good set of eyes! That little clamp riding around for days and never fell out of that car, I am impressed. But still not happy at all with Firestone at all, and I am far from being done. I am going to take this car to deal ship and tell this story and what I asked from Firestone to see what all they missed or declined to check or passover because they felt no need to look at. I will not call Scott nor will i talk to the tech that worked on my car because I feel now because they felt I was older female i would just let it go, NO I AM NOT. read more
