One hour later, at noon, the car was still in the parking lot and had not been worked on. The workers were lounging around and seemed in no hurry to do any work at all. I left. an hour before a repair reservation, they (Firestone) called and said the appointment made 10 days before wouldn't work and wanted to reschedule THEEE WEEKS later. The manager said the person making the appointment didn't actually work at that store and she didn't want to tie up a mechanic for 5 hours on my job. That she needed to keep the time open for "walk ins". i will never use them again. i could have gotten my suv in a week later than them but now its another 2 weeks out. what kind of repair shop waits until the day of to look at their schedule? The employee is horrible with communication. If you hated your job, why do they ever come in. I drop off my car for a patch in one tire so I could take my daughter back to college the next day. I didn't get a call from the shop and I'd try to contact the shop 10 minutes before 5 with no answer, so I drove to the shop to find all lockups. My van was sitting in the parking lots with the doors unlocked. I'd locked the doors before leaving. Came to the shop next day first thing to see the same person who checked me in the day earlier. He tell me because they installed a new phone system and try to contact me but I had no missed call, he blamed corp that they wouldn't change the house of operation on their website. There was no apology of any kind and you can tell he really didn't care. I will not see me there anymore and used this example in my seminar across the country of what not to do. read more

They were very busy and booking out a week plus when I called in to set up an Oil Change | Tire Balance | Tire Rotation. I spoke to Julia (I think that is her name?) on McKee Road. She said that they had an opening and if I could get in now they would work me in. Perfect. A+ to start. I arrived and added a request to check some noise coming from the brake area. The guy at the desk said that they had an inclusive inspection ("Total Care") on sale for about $10. I said sure. I got the vehicle back and drove about 1 mile home all under the speed of 40 mph. All good. Very early that next morning (6:30 am - July 31), I drove out Milwaukee to assist my daughter moving. The moment I hit the Beltline, it was evident that Firestone made an error with the balancing. When I got to I 94 eastbound it was worse. Speeds between 60 to 75 were shaking the wheel. It was extremely frustrating since it is a bit late to address. I made a call to them during my drive to follow up with the problem. I spoke to Julia. I was informed that the "$10 Package" did NOT include a tire rotation. "What?!", was my response. Why would they upsell me this when it does not even include a balancing? Dumb! The best question is why would they not simply balance the tires while they are off of the vehicle? More dumb! When I tried to get some sort of resolution or fix, I got, "...sorry, we are too booked up to address at this time...". Not what I was looking for since I needed to have this completed ahead of a weekend trip to Chicago just 2 days away. This was a grade F this outcome and F for their ability to fix it or make it right. Following that call, I called Discount Tire on the West side of Madison. Niko, said to stop in and they would squeeze me in. I waited about 40 minutes as a walk in and they addressed the balancing for me at no charge...wow! Additionally, the customer service was fantastic. I wanted to pay, but he said, "nope, it is easy to do a balancing". Thank you Discount Tire and I am very confident that I found a new service provider for my vehicles. Firestone, you are out. I plan to follow up to have all of my vehicles removed from your system. That location was unable to retain me as a loyal customer due to the customer service of one individual. read more

I got four run-flat tires and they did a great job. I would highly recommend them. They were very accommodating when I asked to see the tires PRIOR to installation. We stuck around for installation, which they correctly estimated the amount of time to finish. While waiting, we were pleased to observe they were very busy. Avoid like the plague, brought my car in at 8:30am, no calls throughout the day. I called them at 4:30p and they said they were "getting to it now", called back at 6p was told "yea we may not get to it tonight" asked why was told "that tech isn't in now". "He will be in tomorrow morning....." When asked why I wasn't contacted in any way was told "yea sorry about that". Poor customer service even worse time management apparently. read more

Best place for auto care! My home base is Madison, but I travel all over the US for work and I don't go anywhere else for my car needs. I've visited the Fitchburg location several times over the years and am always happy with the service. The crew is very friendly, informative and is always looking to save you money. My last visit, I bought tires and they didn't have to ones I was looking for in stock (tore didn't matter to me. I was worried about the price). The gal offered a better tire that she had and price matched "for my inconvenience". She broke down the invoice for me and included several more discounts. Made me l my trip so affordable! read more

I went here because I was in town and I had previously worked with Matt, the manager of this firestone, at a different location. Matt takes a consultative look at things and doesn't try to sell you a completely new car. I was on a fairly tight budget and he helped me pick out the things that were top priority for my Saab. Normally, I take it to Concours in Milwaukee, which is the worst experience ever), but since Saab went bankrupt, there's really no benefit. Also, I was on a fairly tight time frame. For the most part, I had my car back when I needed it back and he also informed me that he didn't replace the pair on my headlights because he was afraid it would possibly create a longer wait time and more problems I couldn't afford to address at the time. While some people might find that annoying, I found it incredibly helpful and in the customers best interest. Knowing corrosion on my right headlamp could affect the electrical components of both and result in a higher cost, he chose not to risk it given the information he had about me. My experience with this relatively new Firestone store occurred over three successive days. Days 1 and 2 would have resulted in a five star review, but the third day pulled the average way down. I first took my wife's car in the Friday before Memorial Day. Both rear tires had longstanding slow leaks. The night before I had put air in both tires, but by that Friday the right rear tire was showing low on the dashboard. So Friday afternoon I pumped it back up, drove it around for a bit, then took it into Firestone. The gentleman at the counter agreed with me that this might be a case of having put just enough air in the night before to cause the warning light to go off, but not enough to really inflate it. He also gave me some pointers on cheap ways to find where the leak was coming from and potentially even patch it myself if money was tight. I was very grateful and impressed that he had not simply tried to sell me four new tires (it's and all wheel drive vehicle, so replacing one tire means replacing all four). The next morning the right rear tire was flat again, so I took it back in. This time they put the car up on the rack and (ostensibly) found the leak in both rear tires. In both cases it appeared to be from the "stem" where you put air in, which is good because that is reparable. The repairs to both tires, which included replacing the air pressure sensor in one, ran just north of $200. Again I left a satisfied customer. Unfortunately by Monday the right rear tire was once again flat. So I took it back in, and had a very different service experience. The young guy in charge that day (a holiday, so I understand this wasn't the A team) initially seemed resistant to the idea that they had missed something. But they had -- turns out they had found the slow leaks by not the fast leak in the right rear tire from the nail embedded in the tire. The upshot was that I had to buy four new tires. The service tech gave me a credit for the two repairs they had done previously, but this amounted to only $60 of the $200 plus I had already spent (apparently the sensor's would have had to be replaced anyway, even with new tires). But he never once apologized for having missed the nail and making me come in a second time. I also suspect I was mislead about my tire options to steer me toward a higher priced model. Before going in I researched the options on Firestone's website. The website listed seven options for this particular make and model of car (Chevy Equinox). They ranged from $89 to $149 per tire. In the store, however, I was told that the cheapest option recommended for an SUV was $119 a tire, because all of the cheaper options were car tires rather than truck tires. When I pointed out what I had seen on the website (which apparently couldn't be pulled up from the computer at the sales desk), the guy said that "he would like to have a word with whomever put together the website." Long story short, I began by really like this place and the professionalism I found there. My opinion has since declined significantly based on their failure to find a nail, their failure to apologize for that mistake, and what seemed to be shady guidance in selecting tires. The store is convenient because we live nearby, but next time I think I'll be going back to my old tire place. read more

The location is great! Right near Target, Hyvee and Taco Bell, and other shopping. The store is always clean, the waiting area is comfortable and has fun toys for my little ones. They usually get your vehicle in quickly and get you out on your way. The coupons for a $19.99 oil change are great and all the staff are very kind and informative. We have 3 vehicles and have been in several times they have always fixed the problems and seem to go out of their way to give you a discount or compensate problems with an oil change. I love having the Firestone card. It is no interest for a period of time on larger unexpected expenses. They fixed my breaks and I put it on the card and helped me out a lot. They always have a good record of your vehicle and you don't even have to carry your card. It stays on file and they just charge it. Love That! I had a major problem occur leaving my oil change. Not even 5min. of driving I could smell something. I thought oil had been spilled somewhere and was burning off but I was out of anti-freeze when I got home. The next morning I drove it back and they looked at it right away. Told me I had a leak in my radiator and it was nothing from the oil change. That it was sheer coincidence leaving the oil change that my radiator started leaking and that it was going to be over $600 to replace with parts and labor. Obviously I was not too happy about this. Since I only went in for an oil change, prior to the oil change there were no signs of radiator problems. After Ieaving my van to be repaired I started making phone calls and found the parts to be priced high at Firestone and the labor charges are $120 per hour when the other Firestone 10min. down the road are $110 per hour which seems odd to me. I used to go to the Firestone at West Towne which is great as well but this new location is closer for me. After a day of phone calls with Firestone the cost was somewhat resolved but I was still not happy with the situation so after filling out the Firestone survey. Erik the service manager called me right away and resolved the entire situation. He was very kind, understanding and went beyond to make it right and keep me as a customer. Even though they are priced high for labor, I will continue to go there particularly because they have such a great manager and if I do experience an issue I know Erik will be there to make it right! read more

For charged $47 just to have my vehicle inspected, only to be told that to replace the water pump in my car would cost $1200 and require 8 hours of labor. I decided to get a second opinion from a local mechanic who was able to make all the repairs for $604. Never going back to Firestone again. read more

Great customer service. I'm not a big planner, so the only issue I run into is they usually can't do service the same day. Nearby stores allow me to run errands while my car is being serviced. They communicate what might need repair, but are not threatening or pushy. They frequently have coupons, making the value even better. read more

They have helped me out several times now when I've been in a bind, and each time it was a very pleasant experience. Able to get in when I need to and fast, nice waiting area with tv, comfy seats and air conditioning, and the female staff person who checks you in is the friendliest and nicest customer service person I've ever met. Her positive attitude really makes the situation that much better seeing as I don't want to be there in the first place, and then there's always the bad news of the cost (it's never good). I've been looking for an auto repair place where I'm not talked down to or visually molested by a male mechanic or manager. Will come here exclusively from now on. read more

Took my car in to have 2 tires replaced and get an oil change, pretty simple stuff. I drop it off at 12:00pm with a pick up time of 5:00pm that night. I get a call at 4:00pm saying that my car should be ready at 5:00pm. I arrive shortly after 5:00pm only to be told they hadn't even started my car yet. So they rush to get it done and after an hour and a half give me a measly $50 off, and a coupon to bring back to get my wheels aligned (which they should've done anyways but there was another car using the machine). That's not even the worst part, now that I've had my car back it sounds like the muffler or tires are about to fall off. People get in my car and it sounds like a hummer when it's a 2013 Honda Accord. Whatever they did, it's not good. I will never be taking my car or any one else's car to Firestone and will be visiting my own dealership and having them take a look as it could have very well been something Firestone did incorrectly, in which case I will be contacting them to pay for it. When one of the tire pressure sensors failed shortly after the tire installation they replaced it no-charge, again with no problems. I wish I could get quality customer service like this everywhere. Went there last week with a flat. They replaced it quickly and rotated my tires for free. Very good service. However, I walked behind the counter to look at the invoice and noticed they had automatically included a "road hazard" warranty without telling me. I had to ask to have it taken off my bill. So in my experience I'd say they do an honest job, but make sure you know exactly what they're charging you for. read more

I usually visit them for my oil changes and have recieved new tires and brakes more recently. They're always great to work with, very friendly and keep you updated on repairs and I've never felt pressured to get extra work done. They're conscious of your time, they comped my oil change one time when they went over the time that was quoted. No job is ever too small, I stopped in when my tire pressure light came on, they checked my tires and filled them as needed, free of charge. Definitely recommend them! read more

Just prior to a two day vacation, I dropped off my car for an oil change. When I returned, I went to pay and retrieve my key. "Have a great rest of your day," said one the employees. Went to start my vehicle but got no response. Went back in to get help thinking one of the techs maybe left a dome light on and the battery is dead. Not the case. The hood was not latched and after the store manager finished opening the hood, I noticed the battery wasn't connected. His response- "The alarm was going off so we had to disconnect the battery." That would have been good to know... After trying to start it multiple times using his starter kit, he thought it was best to take the 8 month old battery back to Farm and Fleet to get a warranty replacement. So I took the battery home, put it on a 1 hour charge and took it to Farm and Fleet. The test came back with a "Battery Meets Or Exceeds Industry Specifications Under Vehicle Simulation." Now a long story short. I purchased a set of wrenches, connected the battery, and latched it down. The car started on the first try. Left a message for the manager to call me back first thing in the morning but still waiting... read more

I highly recommend this place to get your car serviced. I was on my way to Minneapolis from Chicago when my tire went flat. They rushed me in and fixed my tire ASAP so I could make my work appointment on time in MN. I don't think I would have made it if I would have gone somewhere else.
