They always fit me in for a quick oil change and quickly go over all the manufacturer recommendations for maintenance on my car, but I never feel like they are trying to upsell me or recommend anything that I didn't already know I needed. After putting my info in the computer and scanning my vin, I was given a $105 full synthetic, price, and had a $25 off coupon. I made 100% sure that was the price. Guess what, they added on $22 more for a special filter and a quart of oil. Had they told me the actual cost, I would have passed and drove out. Also note they told me the car had to have full synthetic, of course that is also incorrect, and the car shipped with and the dealer used blend. Just another ploy to add costs. UPDATE CS replied below, and I did send an email, they did try and pass it off as a mis communication, however it was 100% not, it was pure straight out false info. They offered a coupon to smooth it over, I politely said to keep the coupon. I restated my case, and they did refund $25, but only after I asked them to refund it since I didnt want to waste more time on a charge back on my credit card. This almost covers the deception, but I had to work a lot for it. Maybe the next guy puts up with deceptive price bs, but I sure don't. I would personally never go to Valvoline oil change again. Yesterday I went to change the oil in my car, as usual, they checked the air filters, the cabin air filter looked good, then they showed me the engine filter that was very dirty, they recommended to change it and I accepted, they finished their "work" and I made the corresponding payment! Being in a nearby parking lot, I checked the filter, because I had my doubts about whether they had changed it, they didn't. I came back to tell them to put the new filter and they made me wait about 15 minutes, because they went to look for it somewhere else! Terrible service! read more

These guys are awesome! I was over due for an oil change and just happened to check my oil stick to see my oil level was below normal. With other business and mechanic shops closed on a Saturday I was recommended Valvoline off s Gammon rd by a friend. They where super nice, friendly, joked around with each other and overall looked happy to be working there. They all loved my car - a Mustang Ecoboost - and joked about how they each of them where wanting to work on it. Overall I had a great experience! I do want to note that I did have to wait over 2 hour -on this particular day- to be seen because of what looked like an issue with another car already in one of the stalls and had only one other available stall open. But once they got back up and rolling again it was fast and only took maybe 15-20 minutes. read more

Dre very kind and friendly, as he was willing to do my oil change right at 6:40pm as they close at 7:00pm even though my drain cap was stripped from previous visit at Valvoline on University Ave. Went University Ave sat there for an hour before this at like 5:30 pm and they said attempted to change it but sat there for any hour before they said "yea we can't help you as we are going to close and will need to drain your oil "go to gammon and I will call and let them know you are coming." Honestly, a terrible experience. The service took way too long. I was there for almost two hours and there weren't that many cars there. The workers seemed to be fumbling around like they weren't quite sure what they were doing. My car was running pretty good before I got my oil changed and now it has a check engine light and needs a $4,600 repair on the multiair actuator. I was told to send my supporting documents to their claims but the manager Ralph called me late at night to tell me he was denying the claim even before I submitted the paperwork stating that because I had a mechanic look at it to evaluate the damages instead of Valvoline, he wasn't going to accept any responsibility. I don't think this will go very well in court. You are putting yourself at risk by going to Valvoline. I see multiple other reviews of people having major issues after taking their car to the Gammon location in particular. read more

This Valvoline Instant Oil Change location has a very knowledgable staff. Plus, every time I've gone in they have cut me some sort of deal, $7 off here - 10% off there, it is my preferred spot to go. Granted the other locations are just as friendly and quick. They are also able to make suggestions on other maintenance issues they don't cover and how to go about fixing them. Another big draw is that they will top your fluid levels off for free, once between your 3,000 miles towards the next needed oil change. ¡WORST SERVICE EVER!. Came to rotate my tires and radiator fluid replacement and when they finally did the fluid replacement. They said I was impossible to rotate my tires because of the socket was to big for my rim. Looks like that manager Blake should go and play with dolls at his house. By far the best oil change I have gotten. The gentlemen working here are extremely friendly, professional, and helpful. They were very fast, knowledgeable, informative and thorough in servicing my vehicle. It isn't the cheapest of oil changes, but I'd say it's worth the price given the services performed. They check the lights, tire pressure, brakes, battery, top off the fluids and perform the oil change all while you stay remaining in your car. I also purchased a battery from them and they installed it in no time. At the end they give you the full explanation of everything performed and the stats on all the areas checked on your vehicle, which was much appreciated. Great place and awesome staff. Came for an oil change on our company truck, and honestly weren't expecting much from this place because it said 'quick oil change' or something like that. Boy we were wrong, the techs were very thorough and competent. Checking for the manufacturer recommended tire pressures on the door panels, performing a light safety check and checking/topping off ALL fluids including power steering, brake and washer fluids. Most places just check oil, washer and tranny fluid. The 'upsell' wasn't pushy at all, just gave us the heads up on what else may need to be done to the vehicle soon such as trans fluid change and our wipers. No biggie We were in and out in roughly 15 minutes or so. All in all it was a fast and thorough service. read more

Went to get an oil change (that was long overdue) and tires aired up for a trip I had coming up. Blake and Ysrael were absolutely lovely. They were fast and very friendly. I had my 6 year-old in the car and they both made it fun for him. Telling him what they were going to do, showing him the rod after they changed the oil. I also appreciated that they didn't try to upsell me on things. They were also super patient with me as I was driving my husband's car and didn't know where all the buttons were on his car. I arrived at this location early in the morning and was the only customer at the time. Once I got pulled in and got started it all went downhill. There were 3 guys working (4 if you count the one underneath the platform). The one guy who helped me for the most part (Jose), had zero customer service skills, and appeared as if he would rather be doing something else. When it got to the process where he would show me the computer monitor for me to choose the type of oil I wanted he WHIPPED the monitor around at me and mumbled about 10 words (I think he was "explaining" the different types of oils, but I'm not sure). While he then proceeded to shout across the room to his colleagues about personal stuff, I asked him to repeat himself and explain because I couldn't understand him. He then rambled on again, but with a little more detail that I still couldn't understand. I chose the middle one because, well, just because. Meanwhile a man pulled up in the bay next to me, and the one seemingly nice guy working there started helping him. As I sat there the workers started shouting across the room again to each other talking about swimming, lakes, oceans, fishing, etc., and they also started performing the process of inspecting all the bulbs of the other customers (a man) vehicle. Not at anytime during my visit were my vehicles bulbs inspected. They continued to rally around the mans car, spending more time working on it while talking about their personal lives. As a woman I felt rather strange and uncomfortable. Like my business wasn't as important as the male customers, and felt like they perceived me as the stereotypical woman who doesn't know anything about cars, or what the hell goes on. Well, I've been a driver for over 35 years, and I am not new. I couldn't help but to feel a bit of sexism, so I called the customer service line. I shared my story with the Representative who then apologized, and offered to email me a coupon for half off my next visit. Which would have been nice, if I had ever received it. Had the oil changed in my 2018 Chevrolet Silverado with 20500 miles. Usually take it to the dealership but couldn't get in right away and was leaving town. After waiting outside for 30 minutes and manager trying to upgrade and sell everything under the sun and $135.00 for oil change and checking tire pressure was done after 25 minutes. After resetting oil change reminder myself, normally part of an oil change, I checked vehicles parameters online in the Chevrolet app just to make sure that everything was OK. Tire pressure varied 4 lbs from left to right. I thought OK mistakes happen and reset tire pressure myself. 2 weeks passed and 250 miles since change I received a low oil level warning email and to service immediately. Took truck to the dealership and was informed that the oil level was down 2 quarts and that the oil filter was not properly tightened. They tightened filter, cleaned up the oil on bottom of vehicle and topped off all fluids at no charge. They also reminded me that a full service oil change and tire rotation costs $90.00. They also ran truck through the car wash, again no charge. Maybe Valvoline instant oil change should concentrate on doing a correct job instead of trying to upgrade everything. They are very lucky that the engine didn't suffer any damage. I have everything in writing from the dealership pertaining to this issue but after reading other reviews concluded that I would be wasting my time dealing with them directly. Please be very very careful and think twice before letting these people touch your vehicle. They will never ever touch mine again. Wish I could leave less than 1 star. read more

I have never had a bad experience at a Valvoline location. This location worked efficiently and professionally. I came in during a huge snow storm a few weeks back because I knew there'd be no line! These guys don't try to sell you anything you don't need. They're there for the oil changes and if they see anything else on their thorough check under the hood, they'll let you know. This time they happened to see that my air filter was nearly black. The guy showed me my filter compared against a new one, told me the cost of a new one, and asked if I wanted it. Had our oil changed in our 2017 Honda Civic. The yahoos working here did not reattach our undercar shield properly. During a weekend getaway, the shield partially fell off and dragged on the highway necessitating a stop at a garage and all kinds of associated costs to get it fixed.
