Claims pressure tested system and passed for the second time. Currently no leak. Took two trips, two bills, and didn't have my car for little under two weeks. West Town Monona Tire is a full service shop. They were 100% honest and friendly with me. My grandfather used to take me to Monona tire when they were a little shop in Monona and they haven't changed how they operate. They show you pictures of all the broken stuff on your car and tell you what needs fixing the most and really try to help you get your car working within your budget. Received a quote online for an alignment call to schedule my appointment and ask if I could use my AAA discount on top of the quoted price I was given online which I was told I could. Dropped my car off for the alignment which was easy and quick. they called me to let me know when my car was done and ready for pick up and offered me a ride to and from work. The only issue is when I showed up to pick up my car they tried to have me pay a different price. Thankfully I had the quote I was given online emailed to me so I was able to show them that. Then they came back to me with a higher total price still then what the quote said. So then I had to show to them that the quoted price they emailed me and that it said it includes tax and everything so my price shouldn't be any higher than what it shows. The man went back to fix the paperwork again, and this time came out with correct total invoice, but then proceeded to tell me I could not use my AAA discount because they already gave me a discount on the price of the alignment. This was super upsetting as the correct price wasn't a discount but what I was originally quoted and I had called and asked and was told I could use my AAA discount with that quote read more

I wanted a next day tire rotation and oil change. After scoping Yelp & Google I came across West Town Monona Tire. I called to see what appointment times were available and the person on the other end was nice to talk to. Once I arrived to the place I was a bit confused as I wasn't sure where to park, there were cars everywhere. Also when I walked in, it seemed a bit intimidating with three people behind standing desks just typing. I was only standing there for a second when one of them called me over. They asked if I was planning to wait or pick up. Once I noticed them I was planning on staying they pointed out the break room which was cozy and had coffee, water, juice/soda, and chip snacks. They also have free wifi. I waited about an hour which I believe is an average amount of time for what I requested. Also one thing I really liked was a full rundown of everything they checked and photo evidence of the oil color & outside of the car that was all sent to my phone. It was neat to have it all there and see what they checked, especially as someone who doesn't know their way around cars too much. I do think that their services are a bit overpriced but considering the full diagnostic sent to my phone plus a coupon to return for my next service, I think it's a fair price. Car was sitting in the parking lot - should have been first priority given not finished on first day. Got report listing "13 tech concerns - my car has received regular pm's through dealer since I bought it - ridiculous. Got charged $900 for a brake job - way higher than expected, but they had the car & I needed the service. They requested feedback email, which I tried to provide - system finally took my comments on third try (I ran too long). Will not be going back. read more

I had purchased tires from these guys several times. When I picked up last time, they escorted me to the car where it was parked with the passenger side facing the street at the end of the day and I drove home, went in my garage and closed the door. As I went to turn off the light, I saw a big gouge in the paint on the passenger side. By this time they were closed. I call when they opened in the morning and they said it must have happened after I left their lot. Obviously not true. Then they said they could produce a picture showing it was undamaged in their possession. They couldn't do that. Then they said they would discuss it and get back to me, but they didn't, and they wouldn't return my calls. Now they are reaching out to see if I want to schedule routine service! The audacity. I've been taking my cars to Monona Tire for a long time. I've always been happy with the service I received. However, today I took my car in for an oil change and tire rotation. I got a call telling me that every fluid in my car needed to be, not only filled, but flushed. When I asked how much (the cost was not offered originally) I was told approximately $1500!!! It was mainly the communication.. sort of like it was no big deal (that is a lot of money when I was just in for an oil change and tire rotation), maybe they could have acknowledged it was a lot of money and suggested doing some now, some later? I ended up having them do about 1/2 the work recommended ($750). At this point, I'm not sure if I'll go back. And I'm not sure if I can 100% trust them.... Which makes me sad, because I've always felt like I could. read more

"You can drive with confidence!" That's what they said over and over again after doing some work on my car. I was already driving with confidence. The car wasn't broken, just took it in for basic maintenance/tune up. It ended up being far more expensive than I anticipated. I called the Honda dealer later and realized I would have spent less if I had taken it there. Imagine that--paying less at the dealer?! One of the things Monona did was replace the wiper blades. Super easy right? Could have done it myself but didn't want to be bothered. Unfortunately I didn't notice until I left work in a downpour a day later that plastic casings on the blades hadn't been removed--the wipers were completely ineffective until I pulled over and pulled the plastic off on the side of the road. Go to Monona Tire and drive away with confidence that they'll mess up a basic service and perform more work than you need. read more

Absolutely worst company I have ever taken my car to. For your prices I could bring it to the dealership. I wanted an oil change done and figured a belt was needing replaced as it was making a different noise than normal. We dropped the car off the night before the service and filled the paperwork out. I get a report back with 16 items needing to be done, some were JUST done in January so no way it was needed. It was decided after discussing what was really needed that I would do my oil change and brakes for a total of close to 500.00. My partner comes to pick the car up and magically there is a 200.00 inspection fee? NEVER once was this mentioned. Over charging and taking advantage of residents in Madison and you all should be ashamed of yourselves. read more

I brought my car in for an alignment. I was able to get an appointment the next day, which was great. The total came to around $90, which is fairly reasonable. They were quick as well. I think I only spent a total of 45 minutes there. While the storefront could use some work, and it's not exactly the most appealing with a gas station mart kind of in the way, the lounge area is pretty nice and quiet. Although for 7:30am, I wouldn't really imagine it to be loud. read more

I have a Tesla and got a flat tire yesterday. The mechanic I usually go to were not available. After checking a lot of reviews I booked an appt with West Towne Monona tire. They recommend a tow company that was used to Teslas and the car was taken to the W. Town lot yesterday late afternoon. The car was fixed this morning, pricing was great, and they were able to deliver the car to me. I'm really happy with the service and will switch my regular (mostly tire issues) service to W. Town Monona Tire (any software issues would have to go to Tesla). I highly recommend West Town Monona Tire. read more

I was blown away by the impressive level of service. The entire inspection and work took two hours, as they told me it would. They sent me a text with all inspection details/findings within 30 minutes of dropping off my car and then they called me about 20 minutes later to talk through estimates. Bought some Perelli's for my 2020 Mazda 15,000 miles ago. From the start there was a slight vibration. They rebalanced and with my travel schedule could not get back right away. Scheduled a rotation on Mileage and discussed the issue again. Vibration moved to front as I felt it on steering wheel. Took it back immediately and they put there best guy on it. Went back to what it was. Went to two different Mazda dealers for balancing. Neither could fix it and the second dealer stated an out of round tire. Took it back to Monona and told them about out of round tire and they took a look at it and determined it was a bent rim. I did not agree and asked that they take the suspected tire off the right rear rim and put it on the front. If the vibration come back to the steering wheel then it is the tire. If it feels the same then it is the rim. Went for a ride with shop manager and he said it felt the same while I could absolutely now feel it as badly as ever in the steering wheel.
