DO NOT GET AN OIL CHANGE HERE! Their technicians are either untrained or lazy. Their negligent behavior directly caused my skid plate to drag on the ground while driving 70 mph on the interstate. While they so graciously refunded the cost of the oil change, which essentially admitted guilt, they refused to reimburse the cost of the tow, repairs, hotel & Lyft. After calling Valvoline to make a claim, they said I would get a call back. Instead I had to call again after 4 days without hearing back from them. Ralph, the area manager, was absolutely rude and unapologetic. He is not a good representative of this company. read more

Very quick and convenient place for an oil change. I came around 2:15 on a Sunday afternoon (they close at 3), and it was a little bit of a wait, but they greet you as you come in and tell you how long to expect. The staff were very friendly as well! read more

Great experience from Sunny. My air filter must have had an animal nesting in it, so the filter needed replacing but the shop was out of the filter I needed. Sunny offered to run 5 minutes down the road to get the filter I needed. After waiting for a while, they came back, turns out the road was down to one lane and someone's battery had died in the road... Sunny jumped them and then made their way back with the filter. Great service, they went out of their way to help me out! read more

Adulthood and responsibilities have brought me to the lifestyle of the constant oil change. Or maybe it's still having a car from the 90's and wanting to make sure my beater car runs as well as it possibly can. Yeah, the latter. I've recently found a Oil Change location that I trust and that is Valvoline Instant Oil Change off of University Avenue in Madison. Not to be confused with their many other locations, while the other ones I've used have a friendly staff, this spot has a knowledgeable and direct staff (friendly too, of course). I can't remember the guy's name (Steve maybe?) but he's been there both times I've gone in and he tells me what my car needs and what I can go without for a while. Plus, they aren't shy about discounts - bring your receipt back, write a review, check in on FourSquare - all of these are easy ways to make your visit more affordable. Oh, and if you go regularly, they sometimes give you a 15% discount card to be used on your next visit. Their hours are actually somewhat convenient too - open until 6pm Monday thru Friday, plus Saturday AND Sunday hours? Bonus! I think I got there at 5:45 one night and had to wait about 15 minutes to get in (just a little after they officially closed), but they still spent the time to service my vehicle and were just as pleasant as usual. I've had good service here in the past, however when I showed up today none of the employees were wearing masks and I had to ask two who walked right up to my car window to please put on a mask. This is pretty inconsiderate to the immunocompromised and caretakers. It also puts the customer in a really awkward position. Won't be returning here amidst the pandemic, that's for sure.. read more

This place didn't put the car back together correctly when they were done. Changing the oil in my car requires taking off a protective plate on the bottom of my car; this business failed to put it back on correctly causing mechanical issues down the line. They were also fairly expensive (over 60$ for their cheapest oil change). My recommendation is to avoid this place. read more

Attempted to go there on a Sunday around 2 PM, even though their business hours say they are open till three on Sunday, no one was there. Always disappointing when a business can't get their hours right, or be staffed. They should probably change their hours that are written on the side of their building if they are unable to staff them at those times read more

I went by today b/c my Oil change light was on. The kind people there (who were courteous, wore masks, and very patient with me not being able to open the hood), showed me my oil and noting the mileage, convinced me to hold off for another 1000 miles. they helped me reset the service light and did a complimentary check/ fill of other fluids and sent me on my way. I had a weird and irritating experience here and I won't come here again despite living just a block away. I brought my car in for an oil change and the guy who was working told me my transmission was "about to go" and I should try to get my money back on my car. He didn't really take the time to explain exactly what the issue was aside from some grass they found under the hood and a "dent" on the motor (?) and was pretty dismissive. I'd had no symptoms of a problem but took my car to a shop right away. They found NO issues at all with the transmission. The oil change is super quick, under 15 min, but it's on the expensive side ($65). All in all, so not worth it to give this place my business. read more

Great guys working here! First time here at 8:30am on a Saturday and it was such an easy experience. Drove right in and they got me all set. Got an oil change and tire rotation, which took about 45 minutes for both. The guys were friendly and worked quickly - they even fixed my dented hubcap without me asking. Would definitely recommend this location. They're professional and welcoming, with all of your typical greaser charm (and I mean that in the most endearing way). These guys were great. They went above and beyond. Not only did they change my oil super quickly, but they fixed a lose hose that was causing gas fumes to leak into the cabin, gave me advice on how to deal with a frozen wiper sprayer and cleaned out the remains of a nest that some animal had built. This is my favorite place. They work fast and don't try super hard to upsell you. I had some new wiper blades I was having trouble putting on, so the guy did it for me for free. It turned out the dealership I had gotten my car from put one of the old ones on upside down, which was why nothing looked right. It would have taken me a while to figure that out, but these guys work with cars all day so he knew right away what was up. He also told me which filters I'll need replaced over the next year, and actually showed me my filters so I could see how dirty they were now. read more

My wife took her car here in the evening and was told "just a couple minutes" several times. After another 30 minutes and no further communication she finally left. I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt and try again today. I pulled up outside... there was one car inside and one open bay. I waited patiently for 10 minutes noting that the two workers inside saw me a number of times. At no time did they make an effort to talk with me or acknowledge my presence in any way.
