Courteous and honest. Dealership tried to sell me new tires and brake fluid flush. The guys at Firestone told me the truth and that I did not need any of this. They could have easily convinced me to replace the tires considering that my dealership recommended this. But they did not. I've taken all three of my cars here for service over the past year, from tires to batteries to breaks and a couple other maintenance/service items. Perhaps my expectations are lower, but I have always been completely satisfied with their friendliness and professionalism. If I expected to have an oil change while I waited, I'd go to Jiffy Lube. Repairs are always done same day whether I have an appointment or not. I've never felt pressured with the recommendations for additional services they suggest. I went to check if they have a replacement battery for my car which will not start and is stuck in my garage. Two things amazed me; 1) the gave me a jump start by coming all the way to my home...guess what...for free...(I live in Maple Lawn) but still.... I didn't even decide if I will get my battery replaced at their place... 2) one of the guys even suggested that their price could be expensive and I could get cheaper else where.....now who would say that at auto shop? .... easily won my trust... Heard a pop! turning into work at Maple Lawn, and tire was slowly going flat. Drove over to Firestone and walked back to work. Very convenient. They asked if I saw a nail or something in the tire, and I said I never even checked. They called and told me my rim was bent and needed a new one, and this is what caused the tire damage. I said I've been driving on that tire for a long time with no issues, so it didn't make sense to me. Was told it was probably at its limit. Took it somewhere else and I had simply run over a nail. Tire fixed elsewhere for $20. Don't trust these people at all. They just screwed over my boss two days ago. Told him he needed this, that and the other done. He told them to just change the tire. I scheduled an appointment online and they were ready for me when I arrived. Within minutes they told me they were pulling my car in for an evaluation and then let me know what I needed. I went in today, on a Saturday morning, expecting to have to wait a couple hours. I was in and out within 45 minutes. They were nice, professional, and called Leaseplan (I have a company car) for me for approval since I forgot my Leaseplan paperwork at home. I will go back any time I need service. There are too many places in Maryland that charge you and don't provide the service they said they did - this place is not one of them. First off to say, my car is modified (lowered on coilovers, bolts-ons, chassis bars. etc) I went to get an alignment here and everything was very smooth. I watched the technician work on my car from the back of the garage bay and he knew what he was doing. He adjusted everything to OEM spec and did it all four corners in a hour. People can be so, so good sometimes. My tire shredded right outside this shop and the entire team there took amazing care of me. They didn't have the tire I needed, but put my donut on for me and gave me the option of ordering the tire I did need next day or finding another shop in the area with what I needed. I have been having my oil changed on the 98 Volvo and the 99 Suburban for a over a year now. About 4 oil changes now. I also bought a set of tires for the Volvo, had brakes done on the Suburban, life time front end alignment on both. It is really nice to have the tires balanced and rotated for free, every oil change (these are low profile tires) I recommend them. Folks seem to get upset when someone points out needed maintenance, but the fact is, most of us do not keep up with the maintenance schedule. They are usually right, and if I don't want their recommendation, I just say no. It does not make them a crook. If the doctor say I need to exercise when I go in for the flu, I don't accuse him of being in collusion with the gyms. so I'm a regular at the Maple Lawn Firestone. read more

Came here the other day after calling ahead to see their availability. Sergio informed me that unfortunately they would not have time to do any maintenance on my car, but that he could replace my tire that went flat. I brought just my wheel in for him to replace the tire, and he said he'd inspect it more and see if he could fix it instead of just replacing the tire (saving me money). I told him what time I wanted the work done by, and around that time he called me to say that he'd filled my tire with air hours ago and it still hasn't leaked, so I should be fine to pick up it up. When I got there, he even put the wheel back on my car for me, put my spare back in my trunk neatly, and didn't even charge me anything. Sergio was awesome. Stopped by today with what has been a slow leak in a tire. They were able to help me right away even though I didn't have an appointment. They offered to do a safety check at no cost first, and then if they could see a problem with the tire (a nail in it, which was causing the problem), then they offered to fix it at a relatively modest cost. I had been there twice before with the slow leak and they let me use the air hose at no cost to top off my tire. Will be going back again. The people were very nice. They also support the Boys and Girls club with a round up donation. read more

When in last weekend for an oil change. They tried hard to sell me a new cabin air filter (didn't need one!) and a battery corrosion cleaning (wasn't even dirty!) Left with just the oil change.....or so I thought. My engine check light came on the next day and I found they had left a hose un-hooked. This is the last time I use Firestone! read more

I usually don't write any reviews. But this place has tested the limits of my patience. I went there because we live in the area. I took my van for a headlight bulb chance. They said they fixed it but next day it was out the next day. I took it back and they told me that I need an alternator and battery and gave me a quote of $ 1000. They refused to fix the light. When I went back the van wont even start. I had to tow it to a different mechanic, who charged the battery, alternator was fine. I don't think I will ever go there again even though it is practically next door. read more

Every time I go here the employees are nice, and said the wait is short (if you make an appointment). It is also very conveniently located. But I also feel like they try to take advantage of the fact that I'm a young girl who knows nothing about cars, because they are always trying to trick me into buying things I don't need. I took it in for an oil change and they rotated my tires, but when i went home my tires/wheels were making a strange noise. Seemed like they needed to be balanced after being rotated. They told me I needed all new tires, but said nothing about that when they rotated then originally!! After reading more reviews, this kind of seems like a trend. read more

We took our mom's car in for new tires as a Xmas gift. Made an appointment online and they responded quickly. Dropped off the car and a couple hours later they called and said the tires didn't need to be replaced as they had at least another one plus years on them! What honesty! I was told I needed brake work ($$$)and explained I had just had it done recently at a different shop and said I'll take it back there since it is under warranty. I ask him to recheck their work and I get a call back saying they are ok and the tech made a mistake????? I bought a lifetime alignment from the Firestone in Wheaton (great place! I recommend them highly!). My wife hit a curb in the snow and I had my regular mechanic replace the rack and pinion and move my control arm back in place. They don't have a comp. alignment machine and told me I needed an alignment. The closest Firestone is the Maplelawn location in Fulton, MD. I took it there and they "performed an alignment." However they only adjusted the tie rods and didn't adjust the control arm bolts for the camber and caster. I took it back there and at first they told me that those parts were not adjustable. Then when confronted with the adjustability of the parts said that they had been adjusted to their maximum and were still off and blamed my other mechanic. The other mechanic comes recommended to me by every guy in my union. Every single guy. Who should I trust? The Firestone that lies to me and then changes their story when caught or my union endorsed mechanic that has ALSO known a family friend for 20+ years and comes recommended by said friend? Firestone didn't even mention the control arm adjustments only the tie rod. My truck is a 2004 GMC Envoy 4X4. It has a slightly more complicated suspension that is highly adjustable for off road applications. Firestone in Fulton (Maplelawn) is either unaware of the unusual adjustability of my vehicle or unwilling to perform said adjustments in light of the fact that I am not paying for them because of the lifetime alignment I purchased elsewhere. read more

The technician found a nail in my tire, not 5 minutes after he'd just found a nail in another persons tire. The man told me this was the 3rd time they'd found a nail in his tire here and that he was suspicious. I told them not to remove the nail and that I would go elsewhere; upon going elsewhere, I was told the "nail" (actually a tiny screw) had not punctured my tire and I was good to go free of charge. Stay away from this place! After my first visit for a brake maintenance, tire pressure was completely uneven with only 15psi on one tire. And after driving couple more weeks, brake start making loud noise. Taking out the front wheel, turns out a caliper bolt was completely missing. Don't take your car here unless you expect more work to do afterwards. read more

i only stopped in for a tire quote for my 2003 nissan maxima yesterday the 25th and i experienced and observed professionalism from timothy the manager at this location. i am originally from Orlando Florida and just got relocated due to my job. i wasnt crazy about the firestone i use to go to where i use to live but he has changed my mind in a positive way about firestone. at the time i walked in there was some kind of dispute going on with someone that was honestly verbally abusing him about their vehicle and the entire time i waited i over heard him and he continued to carry himself well and act professional toward this person. by the time he got to me in line he apologized for the long wait and proceeded to walk out to my car with me measuring the tread of my tires. he explained to me that i still had just over half the life of my tires left and that it was not an emergency to get them as soon as possible. i was recently told by someone else that it needed to be done right away. i usually have bad experiences with automotive shop especially firestone where i use to live but this location now will have my business for all my automotive needs because of the honesty and professionalism from timothy. aaron miller read more
