Never have I been so appalled at such horrible service! I take my car to firestone for a simple oil change, and they come back and tell me the calipers on my breaks need to be fixed, a $600 repair. I got to two other car places for second quotes and they both tell me NOTHING was wrong with my calipers. Not only was firestone trying to take me for my money but they were taking advantage of the fact that I'm a woman who knew nothing about cars. I am so shocked that they so blatantly tried to rip me off for my money! I will NEVER come here again and i advice anyone against going here. Their only concern is putting more money in their pocket then actually repairing cars. Also they recycle their oil for oil changes which is really cheap and bad for you car. It's is obvious honesty is dead at Firestone. My wife needed brake pads on her truck and we thought we could get quick quality service at Firestone, we were wrong. The rotors on her truck were fairly new and only about 10,000 miles old. Unfortunately, Firestone is only interested in lying to my wife and making her think the car needed new ones. I checked the condition of the rotors before she went and they looked like they were in good condition still. I was unable to go with her due to my work schedule and asked my wife to bring it in without me. I instructed my wife to only get brake pads and keep the rotors the same. Most auto shops will replace brake pads and tell you they may not warranty them if the rotors are worn. But not Firestone, they told my wife they can only change the pads if the rotors were changed also. He treated my wife poorly, and disregarded what she said. When she questioned him he made her feel like she didn't have a say. They should be ashamed of themselves for taking advantage of a woman who does not know about cars. If this is common practice for Firestone, we will not be back. Enjoy the extra money you made from selling the rotors because you will not get any more from me as we will not be back. read more

My husband and I have used this place for oil changes mostly, but also other car maintenance. Service has been friendly but this past week my husband brought his car in for an oil change, and the mechanic called to tell him his brakes needed to be done. He specifically said they were worn down to 2 mm. He gave my husband an estimated cost (more than $500.) We have a trusted mechanic who we bring our vehicles to for bigger jobs, so my husband told the mechanic he'd hold off on the brake job. Lo and behold, our longtime mechanic takes a look and tells us the brakes are in no way in need of replacing. Let's just say it'll be the last time we go to Firestone. read more

So, I've actually never gotten service done here. Why the five stars then? Because the auto dealer for my wife's car told her that her battery was near the end of its life and needed to be changed. Brought it to Firestone to do the work and they re-tested the battery and told us it was 100% fine! Didn't charge us a dime. Really appreciated that honesty so will give them another chance next time we need service. Will be wary of what the other reviewers say about surprise charges, unneeded work, etc. but that's contrary to my first experience here. read more

Took my car in to read my check engine light. Told me the read out was too vague for them to analyze the problem but felt my radiator need to be replaced. About $900 on parts and labor with possibly more if they found more problems. Agreed to the work and then called back 5 minutes later that I would go some place else. Had to pay them $106 for the check engine reading that most shops do for free. And for a reading that didn't identify the problem. Had my breaks and tires fixed/replaced before from this shop. Felt they should of waived the fee for the engine reading for a prior customer and for a bad reading. read more

The only reason this place got my business was they were the only tire place open on a sunday. I got a flat tire on saturday and the donut spare went flat also. I was out of luck. These people are all about squeezing every dime out of you. I really really really wish i could have walked out. I just wanted my tire repaired. They gave me a song and dance about liability and that they cant repair a tire that was worn down.........blah blah blah I have never heard of such a thing. Then when i bought the tire it went from $89 to $130 !!!!! 6 different charges to get a tire! installation, stem, recycle,etc....... STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. I had a slow leak in a tire, accidentally made an appointment here (had a previous bad experience thought I was making an appointment somewhere else). Regardless, its a simple flat tire fix, figured it would be ok. I dropped if off, 3 hours later they called me it was ready. Paid the cashier walked out to my car and tire pressure indicated tire was losing air. Walked back in, the tire wasn't fixed? - he said "you just need to drive it around to reset the gauge" He had the tech check air and put more air in it. got back in car, I went back in to tell the tech again, its still losing air. "no, you have to drive the car to reset the gauge he said". Of course that was not true, drove out the tire continued to lose air over the course of the day. I called, they suggested I got another hole in the tire, idk. I'm guessing they never plugged the tire at all. read more

I called earlier in the day to set up an appointment to have my tires replaced. I clearly stated that I already had 4 partially used tires to swap on to my truck and was told it was okay and to drop it off the night before. No scheduled appointment was made at that time which I found odd but no big deal. Later that day I arrive and go inside to hand in my keys and the man at the counter had no knowledge of my phone call earlier that day. When I explained what I had requested I was immediately shut down due to their store not mounting any type of used tires (they only have 3000 miles on them) but yet that man I spoke to earlier on the phone said that my request would be fine! They then ask for the number that I called and then proceed to tell me that the number I gave them is not their number but possibly a generated number? Okay? How about fixing your website so its actually accurate for the customers? Complete waste of time for me today. Very frustrating and I will not be going back. read more

Utterly dishonest and deceptive pricing. I went to them with a price quote for tires from their website, which they refused to honor, and tried to raise 50%. I then called a different Firestone shop (Newington), which honored the web pricing. Please do not support this dishonest business with your patronage. read more

This is the second time I've been to this place for emission testing and both time I've gotten a "fail" to communicate with my vehicle brand new 2017 car both time there are no reason for it to not to communicate. For being a former inspector myself there are ways for them to take your $20 just to make you wait there hours and not having your vehicle pass and have to do a retest just because they don't get paid doing the testing. So don't waste your time go else where who are honest on their work. read more

I just moved to CT from Chicago where I really enjoyed my Firestone store and took my car all the time for tire services. When I went to have my tires rotated at 139 Putnam Boulevard, Glastonbury, CT, on Saturday, March 3rd, I was asked if I wanted a Firestone card that offered rewards when I shopped at Firestone. I asked if it was free and the guy said it was. After I had my tires rotated and asked to pay with the "new" card I was shocked to find that I had been signed up for a credit card. I asked to have the card canceled and paid with another credit card. I was told the card had never been opened. Today I received a Firestone credit card in the mail and because of this deceiving experience will not be headed to Firestone for additional services. I was deceived into signing up for a credit card and then I was lied to when I was told the card had never been opened. Thanks for ruining my experience and future business over a simple $20 tire rotation. I will be headed elsewhere for tire serives going forward. Thanks for losing my trust Firestone. read more

Great service. I had an appointment for 3pm but I stopped by in the morning and asked if there was a chance to squeeze me in earlier and they did. I was so happy because I was trying to prepare for the storm the was scheduled to come the following day. Yesterday I brought my car in to get a quote for a brake job and they not only added a rotor job (no one else who had quoted me said that I needed new rotors) but they charged me for a "brake inspection".... So even though I didn't use their service, I still had to pay $20 for them to tell me exactly what 3 other mechanics had told me (+ more unnecessary maintenance jobs). read more

These guys are the masters of the after quote add on's. Agreed to one price, then the calls keep coming. Each time the price gets higher. They either need to perform a more detailed quote or just call once after looking at the full scope of issues. Once they get you its too late to back out. All a very lukewarm attitude. Last resort. If you need emissions testing or an oil change, this shop is convenient. However, twice now I have had repair work recommended (after an oil change) to me that turned out to be unnecessary. The most recent was an estimate for over $800 to replace the exhaust system from the cat back. I declined, brought the car to my regular shop and was good as new after a couple of patches for $90. I will be charitable and say that MAYBE both times were honest diagnostics that were just wrong, but I will not be returning for a third. read more
