Replaced a new battery in 1 hr on a Sunday morning after making an appointment the night before online. John was very helpful in accommodating my vehicle and getting me out quickly. He also explained the options and provided a free battery check first to determine the exact issue. The tech was efficient and qualified. He even made sure the radio did not reset by entering the code from the glove compartment after installing the new battery. The only negative was that I could not find my initial receipt for when I purchased the battery and was not told that if I provided them with the receipt after the replacement of battery, I may be able to get a refund for the prorated life of battery left on warranty. I was told this by my mechanic. That being said, Charlie and Gilbert easily accommodated the refund after I faxed over the original receipt. Nice work firestone team. I had a new set of tires put on my car a few weeks back. Next day I noticed a fluttering sound as I drove. When I looked at the wheels closely I noticed two lugnuts on two different tires missing. I went back and they handed me two wrong size lug nuts that don't fit. Had to go to Pep Boys and buy new ones. I still have the fluttering noise but I will take it to my own mechanic who I have more trust in. Avoid this place like the plague. And make sure they put back all of your lug nuts. The worst service ever promised to do and finish a job on time ,when I arrived THAY just start of the job this sauce and then they started to replace two tires ,we left in about Half an hour later we had no air in the tire in the morning .refill of the air as much as we could, my wife went back to the place, they came with an excuse that we punctured the tire, as the guy was installing the day before the tire, I saw him roughing it out trying to install it maybe three times probably damaging it. I've only visited this location for a battery change. Service manager, Marc, was extremely accommodating to squeeze me in a busy day. I had to wait a bit until they took my car in, but battery replacement was quick (10 min) after they started. Printed out coupon from their website, which helped save a bit. Waiting area is clean with wifi available. I would definitely come back for other automotive services. read more

Called at 130 pm, asked if I can bring in my vehicle in by 2pm, they told me it would be ready in an hour, hour and a half, went to target to kill time, that was a shit show, come back at 330 to find my car is still in the lot and they only started working in it. Then they tell me do you want the guy to stop? What kind of dumb suggestion is that??? They tell you how long a service is suppose to take but I usually see them talking and walking around instead of getting the job done quicker. I have never done business with them before ; I used to go to the dealership. I am very satisfied with the customer service of this shop and will definitely go back if my car needs work. Very untrustworthy!!! I took my car in for routine servicing; tire rotation and balancing, and told them to check everything and let me know what needs to be done. It seems like they only really guess what needs to be done without checking a thing! They came back telling me how my air filter and cabin filter need to changed based on manufacturers recommendation. If they even looked at one of them, they would have seen they're new because i changed both of them less than a month ago. They also went on to tell me the other manufacturer recommended services. More or less i thought i was in good hands, but was I wrong. Two days after leaving this place before an out of state drive, i decided to check my engine oil level. It was ALMOST EMPTY! I was so shocked wondering how the hell it could be so low for starters as i get oil changes regularly and just two days prior my car was at this garage and I wasn't alerted.(Makes me wonder if this a deliberate act to try and get repeat business, if they might have even drained my oil) This just goes to show that this place is just about squeezing your pockets without really caring about your vehicle. They gave my car a clean bill of health without even checking the lifeblood of the vehicle. NEVER EVER will i return to another Firestone if basic mechanic work as checking oil is not done as even a courtesy, even though I TOLD them I wanted all fluids checked. I brought my BMW E46 for alignment without an appointment, they estimated 1.5 hour wait because of the other cars ahead of me. Their timing was accurate and I got it back on time while I waited. Upon driving to work and home I notice while the car drives straight, the steering wheel wasn't exactly straight, nothing major as BMW service shops have this issue sometimes too, except BMW would've charged me again for a second alignment. I called Firestone back and they gladly took my car in the next day to align again for free and this time it was straight. Same amount of wait time estimated and were accurate. Update : I received a phone call on 4/14/15 from the owner or store manager named Mike. During this phone call Mike apologized for the experience I had at Firestone he also explained to me they way the sales reps operated was incorrect and refunded me for the road side hazard. Also he compensated me for the tire alignment. Receiving that phone call made me feel better as a customer. Stay away from this place. I was there this Saturday. They quote you a price over the phone and then charge you more and tell you that it's slow to come over. and they will get you in and out in an hour or two. Well John I guess waiting 4 hours for something that took 22 minutes to accomplish is pathetic. They charged me for 4- TPMS valve service kits and 4-TPMS valves and I watched the mechanic the whole time he did neither!!! All he did was remove tires reinstall tires and balance them. Never installed new stems. As I was waiting in the waiting area prior to my car finally going in a bay. Which by the way stayed in there for 20 minutes then they proceeded to move it to another bay. When I asked John what happen he said the lift isn't working. LOL You can also hear the foul language between the employees and after they get off the phone with customers. Then John said to his boss that he hit a home run on the Jeep that all the front and rear brakes and rotars had to be replaced. Then the boss replied great job. I guess John is getting an extra bonus this week. And the best part of this story is this mourning I wake up and one of my hubcaps was missing. Unreal this place can't even put on a hubcap correctly. I remember a manager by the name of Devon that worked there probably 7 years ago. He was truly a professional. read more

I think this place sucks. My daughter had her car towed in here by AAA when the engine got hot. They told us it would $675 to replace the fan & relay. I went up there with my mechanic who replaced the relay switch for $23 and car runs fine. This place is great if you have lots of $$$ to burn. Bill A. read more

I made an appointment for a wheel alignment because of their $149 lifetime alignment service back in May 25, 2011 at noon. Upon arrival, I dropped off my van and waited across the street to have coffee. Periodically, I peaked over to see if they were working on it or not. After 2 hours of wasting my time, I had enough of it and demanded that my van be serviced immediately, especially if I made an appointment to avoid this situation in the first place. Nonetheless, typical excuses of "so sorry, we were behind". I simply fired back by saying, "Why did you take my noon appointment and didn't tell me ahead of time that you wouldn't be able to do it on time?". I have placed a complaint with these guys. I had to give this place a "1 star", but "zero star" was not available. read more

First let me say - so far so good from this site. Mark, Gilbert and Kasai (?) were all wonderful throughout my visits. I desperately needed front & rear brakes. Working 6 days only leaves Sundays and so I made an app't at the Hackensack location. My first visit addressed the rear brakes (rotors/pads) along with an oil change. I had an app't but somehow didn't make it out of there for 3 hours. Kasai (?) was wonderful-very pleasant & knowledgeable...also was the only person running the front desk. This past weekend I had the rear brakes done. I had a 10am app't and made it out in under 2 hours. Gilbert was fantastic! He was quite busy manning the front counter alone and with minimal number of mechanics on duty Gilbert maintained his composure and friendly demeanor throughout -always communicating any delays with those waiting. Mark the site manager is also very approachable and with "strong shoulders" he managed to deflect my initial reactions to my current bill - which was accurate but I'd had an issue with something on it. He has since offset my issue with a verifiable reason. While paying close to $600 for front/rear brakes and an oil change is a hefty hit to my purse - so far so good. There is a slight shimmy in the front end still and I'll visit Hackensack this weekend to have them take a look. Other than that I've had a good experience here. Suggestion: get there nice and early if you have other plans for the day... with limited mechanics on duty ... that could delay your departure. read more

Our "service advisor" was Kurt. We were there for a simple wheel alignment. We were told to come back in 1 hr. We got back 1 hr and 45 minutes later but nothing had been done. They didn't even move the car from where we left it in the parking lot. They asked us to wait another 25 min but seeing that this place just doesn't care about time, we left. If you're interested in getting work done here, I recommend you keep on driving by and find a better auto tire business. read more

After going to 2 different tire shops, my brand new Bridgestone tires still vibrated and no one could find the problem. I finally went to Firestone and met with Chris who I believe is the Manager. He called Bridgestone and arranged that they replace the 2 front tires under Factory Warranty. I waited about 45 minutes and the car was ready as promised. After taking the car for a road test, the vibration is finally gone. Personnel there went above and beyond to find the problem that no one else could. And Chris, is very professional, courteous and knowledgeable. I highly recommend this place !!! read more

My BMW has 18" wheels, and driving through the pothole ridden streets of the tri-state area gave them a beating, and caused my steering wheel to shake when driving. After doing some research online, I found that Hunter makes some of the best wheel balance machines, and Firestone was one of the places that had one. I booked an appointment online for the earliest available time on Saturday, which was 1 PM. I received a call from Gilbert, a service advisor, a few minutes later who told me that the place can get quite busy around that time, and recommended I come in earlier. I came in at 12 PM, and was greeted by Chris and let him know I was in for the Road Force wheel balancing on my car. He recommended that I get the standard wheel balancing first, and if they determined that my car needed the Road Force balancing, they would then do the next level tier of service, and charge me for it. There is a nice big window inside where I could watch the techs in the garage perform the work on my wheels. They were very careful and took care when taking off and balancing the wheels. After the service was done, Kaleo went over what work they did, and processed the payment. The total cost for the standard wheel balance for all 4 wheels was $58.94 after all taxes and fees, which was a great deal in my opinion, and I was out of there by 1:25 PM. My car feels so smooth now when I drive it, and the steering wheel no longer shakes. I would recommend these guys to anyone looking for good service on your wheels and at a great price. read more

It was not smoking when we brought in there. 3 trips later, a hose needs to be fixed, another 300 hundred dollars. It was there fault completely and they refuse to accept any responsibility. This place was horrible! I brought my jeep in because the steering wheel was shaking at a certain MPH and I was hearing a rattling sound from under the drivers side. First, the associate Gil questioned me about having an appointment which I did. I then explained to him in great detail the concerns with my jeep. After waiting for approximately 40 mins, they finally took my jeep inside the bay. An hour later, Gil tells me that they did a wheel alignment and that the plate on one of my tires was a bit bent, but they were going to fix both. I asked him about the noise under the car and he said they were still looking at it. I saw one of the mechanics give Gil some piece of rusted metal that came from something over my muffler. I'm assuming at this point, he was going to ask me if I wanted to replace it but he didn't. He also told me that once everything was finished they would do a road test. 30 mins later, I see the mechanic exit the bay and immediately park my jeep. No road test!!! Gil then tells me that there's no charge. I questioned this and left...still under the impression that everything had been fixed. All of the problems that I came in with were still there!!! I was infuriated!! I was driving out of town the next day and wanted to make sure my jeep was safe to drive and it wasn't. I called to complain and the person I spoke to was fake and showed no concern for the experience I had. Just to sum this up, I will never have my vehicles serviced at any Firestone nor will I recommend them to anyone. read more
