A group of misogynistic and fraudulent men. If you are a woman, do not bother purchasing new tires from J&J, as they will assume you are an absolute idiot and will claim that the tire you purchased less than 12 hours prior is as flat as a pre-BBLed ass as a result of you cracking your rim - before they even look at the car, tire, or the rim. Listen, I'm not one to make false claims (unlike the people at J&J), so I'll give them the benefit of the doubt - perhaps they aren't misogynists or frauds. Maybe they are simply scared of a slight chill and have installed special technologies that let them check and diagnose your car from afar. However, you will then watch the same talented service worker who destroyed your car rush to check another one of his victims' cars (who arrived after you), who just so happens to be a man. Again, I don't want to make any assumptions. Still, I must say - after only being communicated to by way of hand signal, I was absolutely astonished to find out that the service worker wasn't non-verbal and, he could, in fact, exit the garage when confronted with an issue. I wasn't, however, surprised that he failed to fix another customer's problem and they were forced to return. Now, I dropped out of HS and am no mathematician, but even I can find the common denominator here (hint: it's not me or the other victim... or the many others who have written similar reviews). After getting back into line 47 times, you will notice that absolutely no one else in the establishment is given a receipt before service and asked if they "could afford it," as you were the day before. Three hours later, they will finally bless you (and your car!) with some attention. They will then point to your rim and tell you, "'Baby,' you cracked it" ("baby" being you.) They expect you - "baby" - to believe that you woke up the morning of a trip to your rim kissing the concrete of your driveway not because the "new" tire you purchased 12 hours ago was defective (the exact "new" tire that has bubbles on it), but because you, as a baby, don't know how to drive. These men talk more shit than Wendy Williams did when she had a show - what's sad is that at least Wendy was on point anytime she opened her big mouth. Anyway, at the end of your 3-hour visit, they will inform you that you need a brand-new rim and a "new" tire (probably the one I had on my vehicle yesterday). You will then remind them that you have been going there for almost a decade, and they will then act astonished and call you unreasonable when you tell them you need both the tire and rim replaced (as the rim cracked as a result of the defective tire). But don't you worry - because I was a loyal customer for almost a decade, they offered me a discount on a brand new tire. While that offer was enticing, I chose to drive over to another tire shop, which confirmed that the tire was defective. They then referred me to another shop that was able to replace my tire and patch up my rim within the hour, for cheaper than what I spent on a "new" tire at J&J. Unfortunately, after almost 10 years of coming to J&J, it turns out that they think that I am a brainless bimbo, and even more unfortunate that I now have to waste even more of my time and money fixing the damage this group of "men" caused to my vehicle when they could've done it correctly the first time. ETA: I just found out they were advertising a Black Friday sale and did not apply a discount to my purchase, which means they weren't even planning on giving me an actual discount. When I found a nail in my tire this place came highly recommended by my father. They took me right away and fixed it within 5 minutes. I was worried about what it was going to cost me but was only rang up for $16! Now that's a deal! These guys know what they are doing and although I hope not to have to be back anytime soon it is reassuring to know where I can go when a need comes up! read more

J&J has been one of our go-to's for our tire needs. They hold a substantial stock of brand tires if for instance you have a flat or have worn out your wheels. Amongst other places, the tires are priced very fairly here. You should always call ahead of time to ask about their stock and/or if they hold the brand you are looking for or even a service you need done. They only welcome walk ins. Both locations (Lodi and Little Ferry) can get busy, especially on the weekend. Busy is a good thing but I would've been more content if they worked with appts as well. I've been trying to get an alignment for a couple of weeks but never could get the timing right due to their volume of services. It's basically first come first serve. The staff is nice and helpful. This shop definitely has it's pros and cons -- I'm personally not planning to come back. The service is good, not super fast. Took over an hour to get 4 tires installed which is pretty average (not including the time it took to keep picking new tires). Did they do a good job? I just went today and it seems like it. Was it worth the money? Eh, you can get the same service for cheaper a couple towns over in Paterson. It's a normal price -- about $40 for a used tire (including installation). This is the standard for tire shops in the area. However, they charge an extra $10 per tire to balance them. It's really unsafe to drive without balanced tires when you get new ones put on. All other shops in the area include balancing for free but not this place, which was irritating. It's not a great feeling to have to choose between driving safe or paying more when you don't usually have to. I called ahead of time to make sure they had 4 of the same brand of tires that I needed, but when I arrived they said they had 4 but they were all different. This was not what I was told over the phone. Then, when they were putting the new tires on they realized some had problems and we couldn't use them ...so we had to choose new ones. This happened a couple times so it added a good chunk of time to the process. One of the tires had a hole in it and they kept saying it wasn't a problem...they patched it up but time will tell how well it holds up. It was a whole back and forth thing. One of them, the older repair man, had an attitude and kept yelling in frustration. As a customer who has the option to go to multiple places, this definitely made me not want to come back. The total should have been $200 (4 new tires w/ balancing), but then it rang up to about $215. They said they give tax even though I KEPT asking whether they taxed cards and they said they didn't. Then, they said if we pay cash we won't get taxed because no one will know...like, I understand the rationale but this definitely did not make them seem professional or trustworthy. I don't dislike this shop -- Jonathan worked on my car and he did a good job! But, I'll be on the lookout for another place to take my business whose prices are more fair. read more

Every 4 days or so, I had to fill my tire but I didn't see where the potential leak was coming from and ended up thinking I'd need at least 2 new tires. After calling a couple places that weren't able to fit me in today, I just showed up at JJ Tires without an appointment. I pulled right in, the guy found the leak and I was out within 10 minutes. After calling all the other tire shops in Garfield and Clifton to quote having a slow leak patched or plugged whatever they wanna call it...this place beat them all with price..$10 a tire. I always make sure to get a quote up front and when I'm there I re-quote the price I was given...so when I got there, I said I needed 2 tires patched and they confirmed that the price was in fact $10 a tire. There were 2 other cars being worked on at the same time, but someone started working on my car immediately. I brought some here once got a great used tire staff did everything to make sure the tire was perfect. BUT I went there to get a used tire for my car it was not spun in the machine so when I go over 50 mph my car wobbles when I asked why the employee didn't do it he told me it wasn't included and now not even a week after having the tire on my car with only 10 or less mile a day travels the tire is completely flat and bald and I cannot step on the gas without my tire spinning without traction and control of that tire will NEVER buy or refer anyone to here again!!! read more

Walked in and out in less than 15 minutes. I asked if they could plug my tire, they checked it out and showed me the blowout on the side of my tire. I thought that I had driven over a nail but that was just the tip of it! The gentleman showing me was very informative and I knew this was more than just a plug job. So I opted for a used tire, which is actually newer and in better condition than any of my current tires. He popped mine off the rim and changed the tires and all is well again!! I have mixed feelings about this place. The guys are great they get things done fast and right. I have always came here and a lot (I keep getting flats). So I finally decided to change my rims (previous rims were really bad). I came to this place to get 2 new tires and have them put on my new rims and they did a great job however I feel completely ripped off. The 2 new tires that were put on charged me $270 for them however I reviewed the tires and on the website they were only 87$ each. When I looked at my receipt they charged an additional 60$ just for putting them on plus tax which was over 6% with a total price of $352.00. Mind you they said that's with a discount. Vercelli tires have great reviews online but they are only 80$ each why did they charge me $170 plus a fee to put them on? Completely dissatisfied of the feeling being ripped off. By far the worst tire place I have ever been too! first off I've never seen a business lack so much communication. I've worked in a shop before and typically you write a ticket that makes its way to the shop so that they know what to do on each car, or at least verbally tell them! Honestly that wasn't even the bad part. Despite waiting about 2 hours to change my tire, the guys in she shop are RUDE, flat out RUDE. I don't understand how a business can run with such terrible employees there. I did assume they knew what I needed, but instead of nicely asking me, they just shouted at me. Worst customer service I've ever seen, I have several friends that go to J&J that I have convinced to no longer use their services.
