    My blown out tire.

    I paid $1,200 and spent two days getting four new tires installed on my vehicle at Firestone. Just 27 days later, one of my rear tires blew out on the freeway. After having the car towed, I was shocked to discover that both rear tires were worn down to the metal -- an extreme and dangerous level of wear that should never occur in less than a month, especially with brand new tires. I called the Firestone location where the service was performed at 2:00 PM on a Sunday during posted business hours, but they were inexplicably closed. I then called the Firestone at Fort Shatner to ask why, and to explain what had happened. The next day, I spoke directly with Joshua, the manager who had handled my original service. When I raised the issue, he suggested it might be due to poor alignment -- but I reminded him that I had also paid $129 for an alignment service during the same visit. He then said he needed to speak with his supervisor and that someone would follow up. The following day, Joshua called back with vague excuses, claiming the tires could have worn down that quickly. Eventually, he agreed to replace the tires at no charge. While I appreciate that the tires were replaced, this situation is extremely concerning. Whether due to gross negligence or intentional fraud, this level of failure in less than a month is not normal -- and it put my safety at serious risk. Selling old or faulty tires as new is not just bad business; it's a potentially criminal act. I'm currently waiting for an official response from Firestone corporate. In the meantime, I urge others to exercise caution and double-check the work being done on your vehicle.

    Cheap tires but took forever. Had an appointment for 10am and car wasn't done until 1pm. 3 hours for two tires to be replaced is a bit much.

I checked in @ 7:58 AM & left @ 8:37 assisted by Casey the General Manager. There were two cars ahead of me. I went in to get an oil change and tires rotated. I noticed Casey had one staff working in the garage. While sitting in the lounge, Casey informed me that my tires didn't need to be rotated, but showed me how dirty my filter was and offered to changed it. I approved it. Before I was charged she asked if I had a coupon and if I needed a receipt. I was honest with her that I forgot about the coupon (I had this printed & ready when I visited the N. King - I remembered I left it in my work bag). I didn't need the receipt because of how happy she was nice and helpful with me. I WAS WRONG! After I drove off from this location, I went home to Kalihi, visited Target Salt Lake, then Kapolei's Wet n Wild. As I left Kapolei's Wet n Wild, I see multiple lights & warnings on my Dashboard (SEE PHOTO). I heard a weird noise, so I restarted my car. The lights & warnings continued to stay on & as soon as I get onto the Freeway, my car started jerking. I immediately pullover to the side & shut off my car. I began sobbing because I could've risked my SON'S LIFE. Luckily, he did not see me crying because he was taking his nap. I felt like a panic attack coming onto me so I called this location several times. Sadly, it was difficult to get through to them. I drive a preowned 2024 Toyota Limited Rav4. Ladies, if your tire pressure light ever comes on and you're not sure how to put air in your tires, just stop by any of their locations. They'll check your tire pressure and fill your tires with air free of charge. If it's something more serious, they'll inspect it, patch the tire if needed, or help determine what's causing the issue. I highly recommend this company and am proud to be a longtime customer. They've earned my trust, and I'll continue coming back for all of my tire and wheel needs.

If I could I would give them a 0. 2 and a half years ago, I took my car to Pearl City Auto Works for a brake job. It cost me almost $5k to do it. Now they told me I gotta spend another $2400 to fix the same problem. My other half and I talked business with the owner's daughter Shay Nakamura about the situation and asked certain questions and she couldn't give any feedback to the situation at hand. She tried to give me a discount, but I don't think it was enough, considering I know for a fact they are charging me 3-4x the actual cost for the parts and then will eventually get more money back because of the cores. I text the number they text me with explaining my situation and there were no response. 2 phone numbers they text me from I left a text message, no response. That right there shows me that that they have poor communication skills. Communication was done with text. To be honest, I prefer real conversation with a person/company. I believe that they either did a poor job 2 and a half years ago or the quality of parts they used suck!! I got ripped off the first time and they tried to do that again the second time around. NEVER again will I do business with them!!

    I recently needed an oil change for my 2015 Chevy Colorado, and the timing couldn't have been…read morebetter--I had a gift certificate for an oil change at A‑1 Auto Repair. I called this past Monday, 3/21/26, and Timo answered. I asked if there was any chance of getting in on Wednesday, 3/25/26, even though I knew it was short notice. He let me know they were pretty booked that day but offered Thursday, 3/26/26 instead. My schedule was full on Thursday, so we settled on Tuesday, 3/31/26. Later that day, my Thursday opened up, so I called back. Timo picked up again and was able to fit me in at 9am. Super easy, super friendly. When I arrived today, 3/26, the owner, Bubba, greeted me right away and welcomed me in. I let him know I had a 9am appointment and that I was a few minutes late because I went to the wrong address. I also mentioned that I'd actually been to them years ago at their old location (funny enough, also with a gift certificate) and had a great experience back then too. Bubba shared that they'd moved to this new spot just about a year ago. He checked me in and asked if I planned to wait or leave. I told him I'd stay, and he gave me the option of sitting outside or heading upstairs to their waiting room with AC and a TV. Upstairs, there's even a window where you can see the mechanics working on the vehicles, which I thought was a nice touch. I got some work done on my laptop while I waited. A little later, one of the mechanics came up to let me know he recommended a tire rotation. He walked me through the estimate he texted over, and I approved it. Not long after, he came back to tell me everything was done, and that I had a zero balance. I asked if he was sure because I was prepared to pay for the rotation, but he said Bubba took care of it. I thanked him and asked for his name, and he told me it was Timo. I mentioned that he was actually the one who helped me over the phone when I booked my appointment, and I thanked him again. That kind of gesture says a lot about the heart behind a business. When I headed downstairs, Bubba even backed my truck out for me so I could pull right out. I thanked him again and was on my way. From start to finish, the service was genuinely great. Everyone was friendly, laid back, and humble. The shop itself isn't fancy, but that's part of its charm--you can feel the honesty and hard work in the way they run things. It's the kind of place where you know you're being taken care of, not taken advantage of. I highly recommend A‑1 Auto Repair and will definitely be returning for future service or repairs. Mahalo to Bubba, Timo, and the whole A‑1 team for the awesome experience!
