Came here about 3-years ago, I think I gave them a 5-Stars. Had some problems.... Made a appointment two weeks ago to have 4-tires change, gave them my tire size and brand, they also text me, reminding my appointment for that week, on the day of the appointment, The service person said....We don't have your tires, apparently that person didn't put in the order, it would take another 4-6 weeks to have the tires that I wanted. I decided to get a lower end tire, the wait would be to long. Went back again to the dealership in two days. I would have given them a 2-stars, if it wasn't for their Customer Service, they apologized for the miss communication. I haven't actually did any business here yet, but my review is based on the customer service from Alan (I think he's the supervisor or something). I've been requesting for large tractor tires or flipping tires for training purposes at work. After numerous back and forth cancellation from me, I was finally able to have the time during work hours, to retrieve them. I appreciate that Alan was very patient with me and having to go back and forth confirming if they even had the tires that day or this day. And to top that off, I got them for free. I will probably go and seek tire services from this business whenever my personal vehicle has tire issues. The parking is small. The staff that I've dealt with has been nothing, but awesome. I had a flat the other night and searched (on Yelp) tire shops nearest me that opened the earliest. This company opened up early and had phenomenal reviews. But because it was late in the evening when I had my flat, I couldn't make an appointment, so I hoped for the best the next day. I arrived right when they opened and was greeted by Daniel Batty. I asked if he could fix my flat, and I explained I was desperate for an appointment in town I had to head into. He said he had appointments that he "needed to honor" and would do his best to fit me in. I totally appreciated how he worded that because he didn't bump anyone, he didn't promise anything but was extremely service oriented. I went to American Tire Co in Mapunapuna after getting turned away for having after market suspension (Lex Brodie & firestone do not work on lowered suspension) and after another company fixed one part of my car which did not *repeat did not* remedy the situation (I had an ongoing rattle noise for a week, really eager to get the problem fixed). You guys need to check them out! They have extensive knowledge in mechanics and know what needs to be fixed upon paying close attention. They will not just remedy a front wheel bearing, they take care and take the time to look everywhere to see what's going on with your car. I wish I knew of them sooner. This company is the epitome of integrity and aloha. See for yourself they have a clean facility as well if you need to wait in air conditioning while your car is worked on. read more

Disappointing.. You bring a vehicle #1 in to be serviced and expect it to be done properly. Pay for it and assume everything is okay. Bring in vehicle #2, same year, make, model as vehicle #1. We can't do it, it's too big. But you did vehicle #1? I ask. "Oh... about that.. the Tech fudged and didn't really do it correctly? You can take both vehicles to our Kapolei Shop and we will check vehicle #1 and do vehicle #2." Wait a minute, your guy lied? Came here to inspect my front passenger tire since it had a slow leak. They recommended changing both front tires since they were both getting bald. They provided many different options of the various tire brands and I ended up getting the better Michelin tires. They ordered the tires for me and installed it the very next day. They even replaced our large step up truck tire in less than 30min! We've had multiple popped tires on our cars and they are quick, efficient, and always so friendly. The two at the front desk are always there to provide the best rates and listen to what you need. If they don't do it (ex. Collision Damage repair) they can point you in the right direction. Asked for a quote for a set of four tires. The gentleman was quick to respond but price seemed really high, at $330/tire. Another retailers website showed a price of $230/tire. American Tire has it in stock, the other retailer would take 6-10 days to order. Since my new wheels have not arrived yet, I'll wait and save the $400 for the set of four. read more

***UPDATE 11/30/17*** After a little investigating, I was found out that the Kapolei Branch of this company only charges $12 to balance my tires. I dug more into my invoice and in the end the Mapunapuna Branch has given me a full refund and apologized repeatedly for the mistake on their part. Although the situation makes me want to take my business elsewhere in the future, the way everything was handled, especially by Allen, puts me in a much better mood. I do not like being taken advantage of, but I respect a person/company that can own up to a mistake and make the problem right. I will call around before settling on the company across the street from the company I work at, but the customer service, especially from Allen, will possibly bring me back in the future. read more

American Tire Company making a bad day bearable. Today while in Mapunapuna my tire hit something and pop my brand new tire. Here I am at a bank parking lot in long sleeve on a hot day dreading the idea of putting on a tire. Okay before I get slammed for not being able to change a tire, I know how to change a tire. I really was not in a mood to change my tire in this hot sun, so yelp please find me a tire place. Clicked on yelp and American Tire Company popped up and one block a way. Yes i drove with my flat tire screeching all the way and barely made it to American Tire Company. I was greeted with a smile, probably because they could hear my car coming a mile away. I was relieved I found someone to change my tire and for a reasonable price. The only problem was the power just went out because a transformer went out down the road. Now the great thing is everyone there was trying their best to accommodate me. So without power they searched through their inventory to find a tire for me (no computer) and they manually changed and my tire. They wasn't able to balance my tire but they did their best to get me out of there quick. I honestly can't say if they gave me a good price for the tire, but it seemed pretty reasonable and I would gladly pay for their labor. Great job American Tire Company, thank you for helping me through a stressful situation. Good service is hard to find and I found it in the middle of Mapunapuna. I bought 4 brand new tires about 2 year ago for my MB. I drive it sparingly as I own 2 other vehicles. Nobody else has touched my MB wheels/tires since then. Today, I'm driving and noticed a vibration and noise in my rear driver side. I pull over on the side of the road and noticed 2 adjacent lug bolt head caps are sheared off. Luckily I wasn't on the freeway!! The threaded part of he lugs are stuck inside the hub flange. This is due to over-torquing the bolts. I called American Tire today and they claim to only hand torque. They also said they won't take responsibility and can't do anything for me. Thanks to American Tire, it's going to cost me a lot to fix this. read more

The reason I picked here us bc near where my car located. Well.. First off when I arrived the guy at the desk was not friendly at all ! Definitely no customer service skills. I am a first time customer of American Tire Company. They blew me away with their outstanding customer service. I went in without an appointment to see about getting tires. My car wouldn't pass its safety inspection and my mechanic Bert recommended this company to replace my tires. Not only were they willing to change my tires on the spot, they offered me an extremely reasonable price. As I waited for my car to be serviced I asked if there was a place nearby where I could buy something to eat. At this point, 2 employees offered to share their food with me! This wasn't necessary but I thought it was very kind and generous of them to share with someone they really didn't know. I watched as the owner and staff chatted with other customers. This company works to build relationships with customers instead of just making money off them. This is a quality that I appreciate. Turns out my car was in bad shape and tires were the least of my concerns. American Tire Company really cares about the safety of their customers. Instead of just changing the tires as some establishments would do, they told me I had serious damage to my undercarriage and that I should not drive the car until it could be repaired. Staff member Ronnye carefully explained every step of the process and did so genuinely and clearly. No charge for their time and expertise. American Tire Company has been my choice for tire repair for years. Over time, they've replaced all four of my tires. The most recent time, I hit a pot hole on H1 and had to get it towed to American Tire Company. Unfortunately, my rim was cracked. :( Ola and Joy were extremely helpful in trying to find a solution for me. Why not five stars? Well, since my truck was down a tire and couldn't go anywhere, I had to leave it on their lot over the weekend. Well, it was broken into over the weekend and I had some stuff stolen. The guys at the garage called the cops and filed a report. They called me to let me know what the deal was. Can't really be too mad since the area itself is kind of shady. I've come here 5-6 times over the past three years and this was the ONLY problem I've ever had. Overall, great place to get your tires fixed and/or changed, also not a bad spot for a car inspection. I've had tires repaired/replaced here and they were pretty fast. However, they did not have the exact match tire of what was already on my vehicle. Anyone working with cars & tires should know that if there are two different pairs of tires the matching pairs should both be on the front or on the rear - ie: there should not be 2 of one kind of tire on one side of the vehicle and two of the other kind on the other side. American tire either doesn't know this or doesn't care. When a car is up on the rack it's not a lot of extra work to just move the tires. Also, they recommended tires that had a higher performance rating - also not recommended by car manufacturers. I assumed that since they were the experts that they would match my car with a comparable tire but they didn't. If my car was cheap and older it would not be as much of an issue. But my car is 30K plus and was only a year old at the time. I recommend going someplace like Goodyear instead - they do a better job of matching the tires. read more

I woke up in the morning getting ready to go to work and discovered that my tire was flat and it really screwed up my day. I found American Tire online along with a few other companies that I called. The first place I called said they could not come out to fix my tire and some other company told me that its not worth it for them to come out to fix just one tire. The other company was gonna charge me $300 for the repair which was a total rip off. Finally I called American Tire and was a relieved to speak to someone who was actually willing to help regardless of how small the job was. Ola was very nice and very helpful to me on the phone and within an hour, the repair guy was at my house, found the problem, and my tire was fixed in 20 min. They gave me a really good deal so that I couldnt help but to tip the repair guy because I was expecting the cost to be a lot more. It was three times less than what the other guys was gonna charge me. I also own my own business and I know something about business and these guys really value their customers. I got a Groupon here for alignment. I was suppose to bring in my modified civic but sold it before I could get it aligned. My friend also got in on a Groupon to get alignment on his modified Honda S2000. I took in my moms car that has 90K miles that has never gotten an alignment. Since my Groupon was about to expire, I thought it might be perfect for her to use. There was a little hiccup on booking my appointment. First I wasn't able to get anyone on the phone but i contacted them via Twitter and they responded fairly quickly. After that. I called the next day and was able to book my appointment for a Saturday. I get in on Saturday about 10 minutes before my appointment and it was prefect for the car that was before me was finishing up. The service advisor was very nice and friendly and told me to wait in the waiting area which I did. The I was there for no more than 45 minutes. They were quick to do my moms car alignment and no issues. They did recommend to get new rear tires which I already ordered the night before coming in. One weird thing though. I didn't get an alignment paper or a receipt for my alignment work. No issues about the receipt but I did want to see the before and after of the alignment work. This would be my go to place to get work on my moms car for sure. read more

Came for an inspection and it failed. They tried to up sell me on things that they thought I needed to fix( windshield wipers) and wanted $130 just for an half hour evaluation. Went to another place and inspection passed no problem-they told me windshield wipers were fine. The front desk staff was incredibly rude. Even though I had an appointment for a safety check I still waited almost and hour. I would not recommend going there. read more

Very rude service! I was trying to verify the specs for a tire replacement and the girl I spoke to (Ola?) said I did not need any other details than what I already provided. I was trying to explain that the Parts Department asked for more details about the letters on the tire, she didn't know what that was and she's been selling tires for a long time, cut me off from speaking and dismissed my questions. Without any explanation of what the letters meant, and her shortness with me, I said I'll go back to dealer. She snapped at me saying , "I don't know why you're even calling. Bye" and hung up on me. Bought a groupon for a wheel alignment. When I brought it in, they were very careful to remind me twice that the groupon only included the alignment: any additional work or parts would be extra. As expected, they came out and told me that my car's front end could not be aligned correctly unless I bought an expensive after-market adjustable bushing and let then install it. It was such an *obvious* attempt to cheat me that the printout of alignment measurements that they used to try to convince me to authorize the work was from someone else's car! I even took the trouble to speak to the owner and his response? "Oh, I'm sure it was an honest mistake, sir. We've been in business for 30 year - we don't operate that way." Common scam.
