My first experience with Firestone was great. And so I gave it a 4 star review. My next experience and my wife's experience went down hill from there. Now I am forced to give them a 1 star review. First, with my experience. I took my Hyundai Accent to Firestone to flush my engine with coolant on 6/10/25. Firestone performed the service and I left satisfied. Then I took my Hyundai back on 7/24/25 because I my AC was blowing hot. Charlie told me I needed a new AC compressor, which would cost $1,744 plus the cost of $300 for Feon. I didn't order the new AC compressor. Instead, I took the Accent to the Hyundai Dealer on 8/4/2025. They stated I only needed a pressure valve screw that had came loose on the bottom. They replaced it and just charged me $758 for the Feon plus labor. When the Hyundai dealer checked the coolant, they stated that it was clear and had only water. They wanted to do a new engine flush and fill it with coolant. I said no. I already paid for coolant with Firestone. I took the car back to Charlie and he stated the dealer is lying, that Firestone put coolant in the car. He refused to even look at the car to see what I was talking about. Second, my wife took her Mercedes Benz to Firestone on 8/9/25 to replace her front & rear brakes and rotors, and install a front ABS sensor. Firestone did the work but Charlie said she had to order the sensor, which she paid for in advance. She paid a total of $1,429 for the work. As she was driving the Benz, she heard noises coming from the rear tires. She took the Benz back to Firestone on 8/28/25. Charlie told her she had to pay to have new rotors installed because the mechanic only installed break pads. Charlie wanted to charge her an additional $1,000 for the new rotors. Instead, she took the Benz to the Mercedes Benz dealer. The Benz dealer told her that old rotors were never replaced on the Benz and that Firestone used sub par brake pads. She had to have new rotors installed and the break pads that Firestone installed replaced also. My wife paid TWICE for the same work. The Benz dealer gave my wife the break pads that Firestone installed. We went back to Charlie at Firestone on 9/2/25 to get a refund for the work that Firestone did not do. Charlie gave her a credit of $419.53 for the ABS sensor that was never installed. He refused to take back the brake pads that Firestone installed. He claimed that my wife never requested rotors and when he asked to installed them, that she declined. He stated he had a video of her declining the rotors. I asked to see the video but he refused to show it to us. Then he claimed that the mechanic who worked on the car, heard my wife decline the rotors. Charlie claimed the charges are for labor only and not for the rotors. We disagreed because the invoice clearly showed that she was charged for the rotors. We called the Firestone Corporate office on 9/3/25 and spoke to customer rep Larry. Larry took our complaint and gave us a file number. He stated that he would submit the complaint, an area manager would review it, and we would get a decision by email within two business days. As of this date, 9/26/25, we have not received any communication from Firestone Corporate office regarding our complaint. We then filed a complaint with VISA and requested a refund of the $1,009 that my wife was charged for the rotors that were not installed and work that was done improperly. We are highly unsatisfied with the work that was performed on our vehicles and do not recommend Firestone for any of your auto service needs. read more

Nasty service agent named Edwin - abrupt and dismissive. Didn't take the time to tell me why he failed my inspection (my car is only 5 years old and 70,000 miles). Told me to go somewhere else. This is after I spent $400 on maintenance, alignment and new tires. Absolutely the most rude man ever. I won't return now that they have this new management. Nick at the front desk was knowledgeable, professional, and took the time to explain everything clearly. The service was completed on time, and my car drives perfectly now. I went into Firestone and inquired about getting my NYS inspection done. I was told by the manager, Charlie, who is always rude when I come in that they have no one to do inspections and don't know when there will be one! Went in for an alignment on my Audi A4. When I was picking up my car I was told by the store manager that my car "doesn't have an adjustment for the camber, so they just adjusted the toe the best they could". Thought that didn't sound right at all. Got home and went over the car... see pictures. Absolutely atrocious! Called and asked about the tool that was actually needed to alignment my car correctly, was told they "don't have it, just come in tomorrow for a refund". Why sell me a service that you can't perform correctly, waste my time and yours? So, guess if anyone in the area has an Audi double check and make sure they are able to properly perform the service before wasting your time and money. the value of the lifetime alignment is great IF they can align the car and IF the do it correctly. read more

What's the purpose of having this place in Middletown if you can't even get simple work done to your vehicle. The last time I went here for Vehicle Inspection, they failed my car saying I needed new tires. My luxury vehicle is in mint condition and so were the tires. I left there and went to Healey's where I would normally service my car, and it passed with flying colors. They told me my tires would pass, but by next year I'll need new tires. I left Healey's and went back to Firestone, and they gave me my money back. Just recently I have new tires delivered there with an early morning appointment for Firestone to do the installation. The delivery was partial and the other half ended up coming later in the afternoon. I called at 3:30 and the guy Charlie say they came about 30 minutes ago. Like really!!!!! You called me the day I placed the order but couldn't call to advise that the tires arrived. Then he said they couldn't install the tires themselves because they're busy, even though I had an appointment. The next available appointment for the installation was for Saturday and then the following Saturday. I said, just for tires, he said yep. Which one you want, I said neither, and he hung up. I went to picked my tires up and 4 bays were empty only 2 cars in lot, with one mechanic off to side listening to music on his phone. I took them over to Dolson Ave. and got them installed with Wheel Balance & Alignment within 2 hours. I read all the reviews here, and it seems like this has been going on for a while, but obviously the owners must be satisfied with his work, or maybe he's the owner‍‍ Make it make sense. read more

So out on a road trip with the family. And boom flat tire on the highway on a Sunday. Great. So pull over change tire to the "donut" Continue on our way for a little mini vacation. Few hours later get checked in to the hotel and the following morning get the family set up by the pool and head out to find a place that can fix the flat and get it popped on. Literally a ten minute job in total. There it is Firestone complete. Pull in at about 7:20 notice they are already open sign says 7am. Cool this should be quick not another customer in sight. Half dozen employees standing around in the service bays. So I head inside. The guy inside proceeds to pretend like he didn't just watch me walk in. I say excuse tell him I'm out traveling and got a flat and was wondering if I could get a flat tire plugged and popped on. Or even just fix the flat I can put it on. He asks do you have an appt. He already knows the answer to this rhetorical question. And he proceeds to tell me I should have called the other day as they are booked up solid have over 45 other appointments. I ask you can't fix a flat real quick. Nope you can drop it off and pick it back up tomorrow it should be ready then. Like Um no thanks. Not going to bicker with this guy can tell just by the way he is talking he has some sort of I'm the one with the power thing going on. Walk out side notice there is literally no other cars in bays and the workers are just hanging out. For a place that so busy and opened 30 minutes prior. Where is all this bussiness So I head off to find a place that can help. 7:45 I find discount tire down the street. They open at 8 but there are a couple of guys unloading a box truck full of tires. One of them looks over and say we will be with you shortly I think cool I can wait until you open. At like ten till 8 he asks what he can do for me I point to the donut and tell em need a tire plugged and put on if it's not to much trouble. He has me pull in to the bay fixes tire and I'm on my way @8:02. So on way back I decided to swing by Firestone to see how busy they are. And sure enough there are two cars in the 8 bays and still guys standing around not another customer in sight But they were still TOO BUSY to fix a flat. Thanks for literally nothing Firestone. Disclaimer : My profile says VA but I've lived in NY for a year now. DO NOT GET SERVICES HERE! I am making a report with the Albany DMV about Charlie and why he LIED to me about something which was ILLEGAL for him to do. We took my boyfriend's car here for an inspection, they failed it and told us there were 4 main issues that needed to be fixed before it could pass. They quoted us $2,300 but offered discounts to bring the price down to $1,670 ish. These issues were 2 new front tires, tightening the front inner tie rods, replacing the 02 sensor, and replacing the EGR valve. We didn't have the money on us so we asked if we could bring it back the next week after payday, to which they agreed. Fast forward to Friday the 17th of December 2022, we had dropped off the car and when we came to pick it up, Charlie said we had to pay the $2,300 and he claims that "no one told us we could only pay $1,670" even though we have witnesses who heard the phone call where the desk lady said she had applied discounts for us. After a heated argument, my boyfriend had me call because he wasn't sure what to do, when I called Charlie immediatly knew and snapped at me saying " We dropped the price down to $1,600 but he HAS to pick up the vehicle before 5PM because we are leaving at 6." He kept cutting me off saying it had to be picked up over and over. After picking up the vehicle we noticed that he never put a new inspection sticker on, and he also NEVER gave us the initial official NY state inspection failure paperwork that has the barcode on it, WHICH IS ILLEGAL. We didn't know this until we went to Rick's Auto Repair where they told us that what he did was ILLEGAL. While we were waiting there we tried calling Firestone to have them email the paperwork over. Charlie said he sent it but the email didn't have the failure document, just the repair receipt so I had to call back. Charlie was rude immediatly saying " I already sent it over what else do you need?" to which I told him that we needed the official failure paper and he said " I can't email that, you have to come pick it up" I had the call on speaker and Rick's office people were shocked, after Charlie hung up they told me that was also illegal and informed me to call Albany DMV, that he can't make us come get it in person like that. This entire experience has left a sour taste in our mouth with the Firestone brand, we have been loyal Firestone customers for years, but after seeing how they let their employees operate, we will no longer be using them and we will tell everyone we know how they failed to do their jobs. * I've read through several reviews now both on Google and Yelp and I think it's safe to say that Charlie is bringing this business down. Not to mention several reviews claiming they over charge for things and try to add on charges for things you don't actually need. I now feel like they scammed us out of over $1,600. read more

This place is such a scammer. I went in for a simple NYS inspection. They told me my tires are bad and they would failed me unless I buy tires from them. First of all, my tires are pretty new, I only had 6000 miles on them. I inspect my tires before hand and there are plenty of threads. I argue with him for 20 minutes and threaten to call attorneys general or contact BBB and finally he gave in. But if that is like someone who have no idea or someone elderly, they would definitely taken advantage of them. This is not cool. I know they don't make much money from state inspections, but heck, I'm not paying $600 for new tires when I don't need them. Some places would make you get new wipers or whatever to make a few bucks but having to get new tires is way out of line. They are scammers and would cheat as much money from you as they can. Brought car in for a coolant leak . Was told it was the radiator . Ok agreed to replace radiator. Was told they would do a pressure test to make sure there was no leaks BEFORE AND AFTER THE INSTALLATION OF NEW RADIATOR. Picked up car drove for three days , all the coolant leaked out . Brought car back was told that I would have to wait a week , after arguing Charlie says drop off well looked at it first thing in the morning . They looked at it within a hour and they didn't find nothing . Left drove 20 minutes puddle of coolant in my driveway . Opened the hood searched around and myself found the leak . Goes to show that they only want your money they don't give or care anything about fixing your car right . The mechanics do but the front desk Charlie and his associate they don't care about nothing they sign you in and take your money he doesn't know anything about cars . read more

Don't spend your money here, find a better tire place. This is the worst customer service ever, and their tires aren't much better. Wish I never went there. It used to be good, I am not sure what has happened here, but getting tires here is not a good idea. The tires are awful along with the staff's surly, arrogant attitude. I have had nothing but trouble with their tires, and while it may not be the fault of the staff, they make it worse because they don't care at all about the customer or do they care about the tires they are selling you. They had to order the tires and would be able to install Saturday at 7am. I show up and there are no tires. Then the guy says the price will be $400 more than what I was quoted. We went in to have our teenage daughter's car looked at because we just bought it, they called my husband 3-4 times before he could get to the shop as I was out. They were trying to pressure us to pay over the phone for things that weren't done yet. They must be crazy. When we got there we had our mechanic on the phone listening to what they had to say. For all that needed to be done, they said it would be almost $8,000. Our mechanic said not to have the work done. One of the parts they said would be $150. We actually got for $40. They try to rip you off. When we said we would be having our mechanic do the work, the attitude was amazing, the women with the high top fade was absolutely nasty. Then we got down the street to autozone and my husband opened the hood, the cap for the power steering fluid tank was off on the side. This is a car our young daughter drives. They put her in jeopardy. NEVER AGAIN will we take any of our vehicles there read more

I refuse to have my car serviced there any longer, after being a customer over 5 years. If Charlie is as nasty in person as he was over the phone, I won't tolerate it. Better off I guess since he said a diagnostic is $99 and because he was such a jerk on the phone, I called around and found a local mechanic for a $45 diagnostic. Please, please, do yourself a favor and do not come to this place. I can't complain enough about this incompetent business. I have had several things 'repaired' and changed here, and all of them have backfired in one way or another. -- I had a hose for my antifreeze changed here, and after two months needed to come back and have it changed again because it was leaking all over the place. At the same time that they changed it, I had my oil changed there as well. Next day my check engine light went on, I brought it back, and they 'repaired' whatever had caused the engine light...or so they thought. The next day the light went on again, brought it in and they spent an hour trying to determine what it was. They could not. Only when I brought it into a dealership for another issue, that I was told that the guy who changed my oil forgot to put the cap on correctly. That cost me $60 bucks at the dealership. -- After Firestone changed all my tires (and supposedly did a wheel alignment) my car began veering to the left. -- After they changed my brakes, my brakes would make a strange noise whenever I use them. Brought the car back to them, and the repairman said he could not hear or find anything wrong. Again, I brought it to the Chevy dealership, where I found that two of the calipers were freezing up. All told, I had to spend an additional $280 at a dealership because of the inept incompetence of the folks at Firestone--the place is absolutely horrible! read more

A few minutes before 3pm today (Saturday), only one customer in the lobby. Walked in with my mom to get a price quote and set up an appointment. The gentleman who was working didn't even greet us, say hi, nothing. He very shortly asked if I had a service appointment today. I said no and asked if it's appts only or walk ins and he was already clearly annoyed answering me. We exchanged maybe 2 more sentences asking questions and I just said thank you and walked right out. I understand it's a holiday weekend, but you don't know what we were walking in for and if I'm going to be a paying customer at least pretend to give customer service. Was charged $65.00 For a 2.99 head light to be replaced. Will never step foot in there again and hope to tell as many people as I can about their business practices. I should add that they also were trying to get another customer to put new rotors on as his old ones were "warped". He asked to check them and found there was nothing wrong. I went in today with an appointment to get a new battery, It has been dying a slow death for the past year and I told them the whole story. The tech came back in 5 mins and told me I needed a new battery which I already knew. The price was quoted but you really cant see anything since you can't get within 6 feet of them, but the price sounded reasonable so I said yes. The job was finished and I paid and left. I just checked the bill and it says that my battery is in good condition and does not need to be replaced???? and then they charged me $30.99 for checking that? and then another $30.00 to replace the battery. The whole visit was only 37 minutes, it was literally 5 minutes to check the battery, don't most places NOT charge you if need service and have the service done? They are just crazy to charge $60.99 for replacing a battery that I told them needed to be replaced! Beware, make them show you everything in writing before you agree to anything. read more

Came in to replace a flat tire several months ago. The staff was courteous, friendly, and were able to fix the tire without any issues or complications in a reasonable amount of time. No complaints. I also asked them to change the oil. Which they did. A few weeks later however I was getting a low oil pressure warning. Under the hood I saw oil over the engine, and the engine oil cap was not there. I cleaned it up, replaced oil and cap. I was replacing my battery today, unrelated and months later, and I found my old engine oil cap; by the hood release. Clearly the mechanic placed it there while doing the oil change and did not put it back. It's a good lesson in checking under the hood visually after having repair or service work done. read more

I've been taking my family cars here for probably 15 years and today truly was a shitty experience I hope to never have again. coming in for an inspection only to be told my car may need up to 2500 in repairs. funny all of those things mentioned weren't mentioned before and I've done regular maintenance, tire replacements over the years. i was pretty forced to get what needed to be done to pass inspection. of course the regular manager i deal with wasnt there so feel hoodwinked when the manager with his cavalier attitude nonchalantly says have major issues. hard to trust mechanics but I thought I had one in Firestone. they used to have a manager Chris who went above and beyond, and Mike is good now, but he wasnt here. everyone else there could use a lesson in professionalism. even here 4 hours already for an inspection, oil change and rear brakes. all parts were in stock and I had an appointment. read more

Pros: Very thorough, and very likeable. I am not doubting their level of competence at all. Cons: Complete rip off. Was charged $62 for my oil change. That's 3x what I usually pay. Anthony and the entire team at Firestone Complete Auto Care were just phenomenal, responding promptly and professionally, and fixing the issue quickly and without trying to pressure me into accepting services that I didn't need. Everyone here is always very friendly, courteous and helpful. I've been bringing my car here now for about 2 years for everything; oil changes, inspections, tires etc. just call and make an appointment and they'll have you in and out, they are very respectful of your time and let you know how long it will be. They're trustworthy and have their customer's best interest. I wouldn't take my car anywhere else. And the friendly service is the icing on the cake, they're very pleasant ; the best ! read more

I've been going here for oil changes for years, I'm not always so sure why. Service is never consistent. Sometimes you're in and out, no problem. Sometimes it's a whole other story. I no longer make appointments because they're rarely kept, you get there on time and end up waiting while others are put ahead of you anyway. I brought my car in last week for an oil change at 10:30 am, I was told there'd be an hour wait which I agreed to easily because I had errands to run with my husband. 2.5 hours later they still hadn't called so we came back to be told my car still wouldn't be taken into a bay for another 45 mins. Annoyed, we ran one more errand, came back within that amount of time and my car still hadn't moved. I decided to wait in the lounge area for 20 more mins before anyone even went to back my car in. I know for a fact they took others ahead of me. When I paid, the man helping me did give me a coupon for something like $20 off, which I appreciate, though he offered no explanation for why a quick oil change I had been told would take an hour ended taking well over 3. I would have just preferred they be upfront about what the wait would really be. At 7 months pregnant, running errands all day and having to guess when my car would be ready, it was a burden on both myself and my husband who had to drive me around town long after we thought I'd have my car back. Unfortunately this is pretty typical of my experiences with this place. Next time I'm due for an oil change I'll probably give somewhere else a shot. read more

Made an appointment this time, still had a two hour wait. If it was not for my life time alignment, I would go somewhere else. When I get another car I will go to another place. I also put on the appointment info that I needed a alignment and tire rotation, the clerk actted as if this was a major inconvenience. Told him I put it the appointment info on the website, he said I did not because it was no there.
