The true plus is that they are open on weekends and some holidays. The office staff and technicians are professional. However, I do find their pricing more expensive than other chain shops. I've paid the higher prices so far but continue to look for pricing deals elsewhere. I took my SUV to Firestone Tire in Hidenwood Shopping Center in Newport News to get a slow leak in my tire repaired. In the process of removing the tire from the hub, they slashed a slit in the sidewall of the tire. I was told that since the SUV is AWD, I would have to replace all 4 tires at a cost of over $1000 (nice try). I checked with Volvo and was told I only need to replace the 2 that are on the same axel. Firestone told me there was a sale on two tires coming soon and that discount was better than the minimal compensation they were offering, for the perfectly good tire they damaged. I called and had a 10 am apt for an oil change and tire rotation. Have not heard from them so at 225pm I call to get an update. They say oh sorry its about to go in and will be about an hour and half. They said oh we got behind. Why make apts then if your not gonna get in any time close to it. The last 2 times I have gone in for my car they have said something needed fixed or replaced and it lasted over a year so I dare them to say something is wrong. read more

Ya know, I'm all about the independent Mom & Pop joint, and supporting your local community. However, that drumbeat of "supporting your local community" is a tad subjective, isn't it? I mean, locals are employed at corporate stores in a community, are they not? I just moved to the area and this was my first time popping in here for an oil change and tire rotation. Back in Albuquerque I used to visit a local Firestone location religiously as well. It's almost like I was a regular here too. All of my information was in the computer and it just made the entire interaction so much nicer. They too are currently observing and adhering to Covid-19 safety protocols, so I felt safe. After making an appointment online I dropped my truck off, was greeted right away, confirmed the service and off I rolled. I live pretty close, so I chose to walk home and wait until the service was completed. I guess my only complaint would be, what's the point in making a 0900 appointment if it's still gonna take four hours to complete a 30-minute oil change and tire rotation? It's kind of like a doctor appointment I guess, those times are more of a guideline than a hard hit time. Nevertheless, all good! The price, convenience and service combined, will keep me coming back. And if you're still looking for a joint who offers these services, I'm pretty sure you'll be equally satiated here too. Went for an oil change, tried to sell me all kinds of things I do not need. I just bought my car, there is nothing wrong with it. Did not take long at all to take my car in and do the oil change. It has been over 30 minutes since completion and they still have not given me the invoice. I am the only customer here, they are standing around talking. The lady Tina in the front talking to another employee both laughing and giving me side eyes. Very rude, very unprofessional. I used to go to Firestone for a couple previous vehicles, I will not be coming back. Also, $120 for an oil change is a bit much, I'll change my own next time. Really came for the convenience but it isn't worth my time or money! Update, came home and checked oil filter, THEY DID NOT REPLACE IT AND CHARGED ME FOR IT!!!!! Husband it taking it back. read more

The work that was completed was amazing however after waiting for over an hour in store I dealt with the worst customer service. When I brought in my vehicle and was quoted a price , I asked to pay in cash right then but was told I had to wait until the service was complete to pay which I understood. However when it came time, the guy slaps the papers down and states " I've already counted my til for the day, you can't pay with cash". Which meant I would have to find a ride home , miss work from 5 am to 5 pm , find a ride back to Firestone the next day all because you have counted the til for the day which isn't right. This is the worst experience I have ever had!!! Drop my car off with Kelly (employee). I told her what I needed. Christina (the store manager) called me back and recommended that I should also do an alignment as well. I said let's do it. When I came in to pay, I dealt with Christina & paid. She said that I'm glad we did the alignment bc my car needed it. Drove off the lot and it pulled to the right. Had to come back the next day. Dealt w/ "Barry". He was giving me an attitude when I question him about the alignment. I just wanted to know what was done differently from the 1st time they did it from the 2nd time so I know it won't pull again and come back for the 3rd time. Barry was rude, raising his voice in front of all of his customers. I told him that I already paid for the work, and I did not appreciate his attitude! I'm a paying customer. He said he didn't care! I took my car In last Thursday to get looked at. Whenever I accelerate there is a loud clicking and it slowly comes to a stop as the car halts. Also my windshield wiper fluid wasn't spraying the windshield but underneath the hood. I told them these issues and they said to bring it in today (Monday) at 8 am. They kept my car until 130pm and finally answered my calls asking for an update saying they couldn't hear they clicking and the dealership is the one to fix the Wiper Fluid issue. They charged $110 for wasting 5 hours of my time I could've been at work and now I will be taking it to the dealership. PS- the clicking is so loud, you can hear it backing out of a parking spot. Which just proves they didn't actually test drive it. read more

Stopped there a couple days ago to get a state inspection. Guy behind the counter said it would be a few hours, I told him I did not have time to wait today. He told me if you get here at 7 AM when we open it's first come first serve. Today I arrived at 6:45 AM and waited for them to open. A very grumpy guy let me in and asked what he could do for me but really as though he did not want to help me. I said I'd like to state inspection, he said you're going to have to leave it with me and that it would be ready this afternoon. I explained to him what the other guy had told me previously and he said it is first come first serve, we had vehicles left over from last night and I don't have enough state inspectors here. I just love Firestone! Most companies would not be this honest. Took my car in to get new brake pads on. They called me and told me I didn't need them. They will probably last another 6 months! I went to the Firestone on Warwick Blvd in Newport News to get an oil change on a Sunday morning. When I pulled up there were two people standing in line waiting for the store to open. It's suppose to be first come first serve on Sundays and the manager Patrick Brosky told the first customer that he wouldn't get to his car until 3:00 pm. I'm trying to figure out how the first person at 9 has to wait until 3 to get his car serviced and he told me I would have to wait later than that. I continued to tell him, that's probably why they have bad reviews online and he said probably so. smh..... If he doesn't care about his reviews why should I? Last Friday on way home from work my truck was breaking down so I pulled into their store and they told me their technician would not be until Monday to determine my problem so I told him that was OK then Monday they called me and said they found the problem it would be $150 to fix it an hour and a half later they called and said that didn't fix the problem they told me that it was a throttle body I then told them it was replaced 2yrs ago but assured me that was the reason and it would take 2 days to get it in 2 days later wasn't the problem but they put the old back on because there was nothing wrong with it but said they figured it out its the catalytic converter which fixed the problem now my bill went from 150.00 to 650.00 then 950.00 before I showed them Big Als was 200.00 dollars cheaper so they matched their price for a final bill of 750.00 a 90 for the diagnostic , 60.00 for the first fix 450.00 for the converter a 150.00 for labor the 450.00 price at Big Als included labor so 300.00 dollars more to use them I've been to a Firestone before in North Carolina a year ago And when there diagnostic found the problem they fixed it and didn't charge for the The diagnostic I feel cheated read more

LOL!! These people are a complete JOKE, not to mention highway robbers. Where can I give them a negative star rating? So...I took my 2002 Pathfinder in for an inspection. They slap a rejection sticker in it, tell me it's the catalytic converter, and hand me a $700 plus quote. So, now I'm panicking, as this is my only vehicle, and I can't afford to have it not right, but at the same time, didn't have $700 plus to plop down on getting it fixed. So, I called my dad (which I should have done BEFORE taking it ANYWHERE for that matter, as he's somewhat of a semi-mechanic himself) and he told me to shop around, and if I didn't find anything more reasonable in the area, to contact his people, Ron's Muffler Shop in Dinwiddie (and I'll get back to these WONDERFUL people in just a minute). So I call around, and the best quote I get in the immediate area was around $300...better than $700 plus, but still more than I cared to pay. So, I call Ron's (sorry, know I'm using "so" a lot...just the way it is when you're describing something), and they quote me $250. I jump on that and make an appointment to get my vehicle in. I drive up, they welcome me in, and take my truck in pretty much as soon as I got there. About 10 minutes later, the guy comes in the waiting area and says, "That your Pathfinder?", I tell him yeah, he says, "You want it fixed?"...I almost got a little hot and wanted to say "umm... yeah, that's why I brought it here", but I play along and say of course. He says, "come here I want to show you something". So I go to the bay and he points up under it and says, "That's your catalytic converter...not a thing wrong with it. This is what needs fixing"...and he points to the resonator. So I'm like how much is that? He says "60 bucks...40 for the part, 20 for labor". So I'm like hell yeah!. $60 bucks. $60 freaking bucks. So that brings us to these clowns at Firestone. Not only did they try to get me to pay $700 for something I didn't even need, but IF I had gone ahead and did that, I STILL wouldn't have gotten taken care what actually needed to be fixed, which was the resonator. Complete crooks. It's hard out here man, and the last thing anyone needs is to be ripped off by some clowns looking to make a buck off unsuspecting folks. Lesson learned. NEVER go to the national chains, and support your local small business mechanic. In Newport News, I HIGHLY suggest Omni Performance off of Jefferson. They are the BEST!! read more
