My family and I came to Norman for a funeral. Long story short, the alternator in our 15 Suburban goes out on Saturday afternoon at 3pm. I called the store and asked if I had it towed there, would it be possible to have my family back on the road this evening to Paris Texas. The gentleman on the phone said, "It should be no problem. Get it up here and I will start the ticket." So I had it towed there and we were back on the road by 7pm. Now, price.....By far the most expensive alternator I've ever replaced. I dropped my car off with this firestone and it took them a week to get it back to me. When I called the following day for an update, they told me they forgot to order my tires and claimed it "slipped through the cracks". Because of this, I had to wait 3 extra days for them to get the work done. Due to the inconvience they offered me a discount, but when I arrived I had to pay a $1200 bill. Yes- use this Firestone! We were traveling through Norman on the way home to Maryland, on a very tight schedule. Had an unexpected break problem with our truck and needed a repair ASAP. The guys at Firestone in Norman on Main were AWESOME. We were in at 7am and done by 9:30 am with new break pads and rotors. So relieved! Their service was amazing and I recommend this shop to anyone. When we get to Maryland we will take their suggestion and get our repairs done at our local Firestone. I would give a 0 star rating if they would let me. I left my best friend's wedding today and found I had a flat tire. I was heading out to pick up my husband from his mother's who had surgery today as well. I manged to get it aired up to make it to this store. I went in and told them I was from out of town and here for a friend's wedding and came out to find a flat tire the and asked if they did free tire patches due to not having any money on me. The guy was an older man and was rude no it's $20 per patch per tire. Ok no sympathy what so ever and Didn't seem to care I was over an hour away from my home. The first time that I came into this store I was shopping for tires. I decided that I would feel so much better if I had my boyfriend who had worked at a tire place before and had a degree in Vo-Tech with me. I think we had been to 6 other places, but this one topped them all! Wonderful, friendly service; explained what all came with the tires; helped me figure out what would truly fit in my budget; and courteous when I said that I still wanted to check a couple of other places before buying. He replied he'd see me soon. And soon he did! I ended up buying my tires here because I was sold, not only on the price (keep in mind they aren't the cheapest,but Firestone has the best deal, make, and warrenty), but also the professionalism and respect that they gave me. I will definitely be buying my next set here... though it will be a while before I need to with the wonderful quality tires I received. read more

I have used the Firestone on Main Street in Norman for several years. I have always had excellent service; the staff are respectful and courteous and really know what they are talking about. They go out of their way to take care of their customers. I took my truck in to have the tires rotated and balanced (which they are always happy to do) and asked them to look at my brakes; as their was "something" not right with the feel of the vehicle. They spent several hours checking things out and found a few issues that they took care of. As a repeat customer they took very good care of me. Welllll... Again, I'm the black sheep of Yelp lol. I've been coming here since I moved to Norman, so about 2.5 years. It's just the most convenient location to work, and my tires came from Firestone. I needed a place to get an oil change and further tire maintenance so, here we are. I've never had a problem. Customer service is always great, they go through every issue with me. I've had a diagnostics run on my check engine and the guy talked with me for like 30 minutes while I made sure I grasped the issue and understood what was going on. They've never tried to upsell me, or misquote me. In fact, I purchased new tires last year at a different location and didn't add the warrantee (it was one of those things you're not really listening and just brush off) and lo and behold, I busted the wall of my tire on a curb check and had to buy a WHOLE NEW ONE. The guy went ahead and added the warrantee on all four tires for me so now they'll just replace it. Oil changes are always a wait, but I find that typical. Don't come first thing when they open cause there's usually one mechanic. I find between 8-9 the quickest time and I'm usually out in about 30-45 mins. Maybe it's because I'm a regular face, maybe it's because I'm not totally clueless when it comes to cars. Either way, I've never had problems! Side note: I wouldn't ever take my car here to get worked on though. For serious mechanical issues, i would find a mom and pop mechanic. I just don't feel expansive issues are really in Firestones repertoire. read more

I want to score it less than zero. I called this store the price for oil change. I also told the staff the type of my car. A staff picked up the phone told me it will be 37.99 plus tax. When I arrived the store in the afternoon, they charged me almost 80 dollars. When I mentioned I already talked to their staff before, they told me they can give me a discount. But I really disappointed about what they did. What they did was far from honest. My friend recommended me this place. But in fact it's so awful! read more

I have been coming here for 10 years. All of our cars get serviced here after car warranty are expired. I love this place. They take the time to explain and show you what's wrong. They get the job done and in a timely manner. This is like my family and they treat me like family too! I would recommend to everyone! If I could give this place 0 stars I would. I took my car in just to get an oil change. They said it wouldn't take very long at all to get my car worked on. I waited over an hour and they hadn't even started working on my car. There were multiple workers walking in and out, and everyone was taking lunch breaks. Clearly a mere oil change wasn't a priority for them. A worker even finished up on another car and still wouldn't work on my car, even after his manager asked him to work on mine. After over an hour of my car sitting out front untouched, I asked for keys back. The only thing the manager said to me was "sorry we couldn't get it done fast enough for you." If there is zero star rating, this store deserves it. I came in to check the annoying noise from the engine and the old gentleman, who was super rude and annoyed by my concerning questions, told me that it costs $21 for them to only check it. I said fine, my initial presumption was that they will do a complete diagnostic of the problem and pull all engine pieces apart such as pulling off the serpentine belt to see what is the exact issue. Unfortunately, they only looked at it for few minutes without removing the belt to see which bearing is causing the problem. The mechanic reached the conclusion that it was the water pump which costs ~$600. I mean what kind of bullshit is this? Other stores take a quick look at issues for free without charging people $21! When I was about to check out, I brought up the issue of why not performing a complete check of the engine to the old gentleman, he got upset and told me to get out. I am extremely angry right now and will not ever come back to this place. Don't go if you care about customer respect and not meeting depressed people who take their job frustration at customers. read more

Firestone on BGR in Abilene really scammed me! Want in to get leak fixed in tire. They showed me nail imbedded in center of tread. They tried to sell me a new set of tires! They said could not remove tire because it would tear tread from sidewall!?!?!? WTF! Tire not worn much. I waited for work to be done then left for drive to Reno. On way had same leak problem. Took vehicle to Goodyear in Reno and had tire fixed. Nail was still in tread! Drove back to Abilene with no problem. read more

So I needed to get an alignment, plus 2 new front tires on my vehicle. Received reasonable quote from Walmart, which I then took over to Firestone because good ole Walmart doesn't do alignments. From the minute I walked into the Firestone I was impressed with the service! I was helped by service guy Travis who was very helpful and provided me a price quote well within the range of the Walmart quote and included the tires for 65,000 miles, unlike the 60,000 miles I was quoted. I thought the alignment was a little high, so I asked if there were any coupons available and Travis kindly said they have special to get $30 off service. At this point I was sold! I made appointment for the next morning, the manager I believe helped me on this day and was just as nice. I was told a couple of hours to complete the work and sure enough received call 2 hours later from Travis. Saved our a$$. We were in Norman visiting, on a Sunday. Got a huge screw in the tire = flat tire. The had our tire repaired in less than 15 minutes and the charge was fair. I am impressed. Doing some work in the area and had a flat fixed here a few days ago. Arrived just after they opened and they said they could get me right in. Sat there in the waiting area as other customers arrived and their vehicles were serviced before ours, some of which were drop offs to be picked up later in the day. When I asked the guys at the desk several times about my vehicle they never looked up from their cell phone And replied that they were putting the tire on as we speak. A hour and $23 dollars later they got the screw out and tire fixed.... It's obvious that local customers come 1st at this place. I picked up a screw in my tire. I put air in it and kept losing air quickly. I knew it wouldn't hold overnight. I went to the closest tire place which happened to be Firestone on Main Street. It was 6:36 p.m. They closed at 7 p.m. I was relieved to make it there!!!!! I had 24 minutes to get this fixed before they closed! I walked in and two men who worked there were standing at front counter. I let them know I needed to get a screw out of my tire and a patch. I was told they couldn't do it because they were closing. I was frustrated and asked if they knew where I could go. My husband was working out of town and I didn't know if I would make it home. The older gentleman told me that it was almost 7 and that most places would be closing. He then said Walmart may be open. Thank goodness for Walmart! I went there and they had a car in front of me getting a nail out, and two guys working, and I arrived there at 7:01 and was in my car headed home by 7:28! So, Walmart will get by business. I will never use THIS firestone again! I teach customer service classes to new employees where I work, maybe this is needed. This place used to be great when Ken and Earnest were there. Recently there have been some new faces and the service there has declined greatly. I have been using this company and location for about 10 years despite Firestone's reputation for being over priced with everything. Yesterday I went in to get a quote on a service that they said would be $197. When I brought my truck in today to be serviced they hit me with a $351 bill!!! After I suggested that it was significantly higher than what I was quoted, the boy behind the counter said that he only quoted me the labor and all he could do was say I'm sorry ma'am and at least we got it fixed. When I brought my concern to the guy who drove my car around for pick up he said the same exact thing with a sarcastic smirk on his face. At least we got it fixed. It was almost DOUBLE THE PRICE!!! I AM BRINGING THIS TO THE HIGHEST PERSON/S I CAN AND AM GOING TO TAKE MY BUSINESS ELSEWHERE. My company would light me on fire if I treated our clients like that. There are lots of small businesses in Norman who would jump at the chance to have my business. I get everything there, tires, oil, service.....for me and my entire family (4different vehicles).
