Brought my car in for an inspection, they tried to tell me changing a break light would cost $180 dollars. When I argued, they changed the price to $70 saying that they "looked at the wrong type of vehicle". Then they tried to say something was broken that wasn't. Do NOT GO to the Firestone on Parham Road! I walked in with a screw in my tire a few days ago. I walked in and said "Hi, how are you." The man at the front desk responded "Ready for this day to be over." Yeah, me too guy. So I told him I had a screw in my tire and asked him if someone could look and see if it needed to be plugged. He responded no. I told him I didn't understand, it would only take a minute and I live a half hour away from home. He screamed, "WHEN I HAVE 40 CARS TO INSPECT THEN NO, I WILL NOT LOOK AT YOUR TIRE". I will never be back to any Firestone. I went down the street to Jiffy Lube. Turns out it was just a tiny, short screw and I didn't even need a plug. Go figure. read more

Four hours later, they call me and let me know other cars/customers are more important than I am: "Could you leave it overnight?" No, I can't leave it overnight. I had time for repairs today. BEWARE! I went in for an oil change because they sent a coupon in the mail.. sweet 20 dollar oil change. But as I waited for hours it seemed (when I had an appointment) they called me up to hear some bad news, apparently they found a crack in my exhaust manifold, will cost about $500 to repair and its a necessary repair because it wont pass inspection. Thankfully, I did not have the money at that time.. so I went home, thought about it and then called my mechanic at Edwards Auto Care ( The best ) They scanned the engine, ran an air test (not sure the correct term) to check for any leaks or cracks in the entire exhaust system and found nothing. There was absolutely nothing wrong with my car. It's places like Firestone that take advantage of people coming in for inexpensive oil changes or small things and then scare you half to death into thinking your car will break down after leaving their lot.. The lady waiting with me at the Firestone kept getting called up to the desk to hear more bad news after more bad news... unfortunately I heard they sucked about 700 dollars out of her that day. While the service was relatively quick and everyone polite, I was very dissatisfied to see that on my invoice they recommend that I change my car battery and said my current battery doesn't "meet minimum requirements" and needs to be replaced before it damages my vehicle. However, my battery is brand new and nothing is wrong with it! I do not appreciate businesses that try to nickel and dime you with deceiving information. I recently dropped off my 2007 Toyota 4Runner to diagnose a rattling noise i was hearing underneath the car. Long story short they believed It to be a heat shield on my exhaust. They told me they removed it but after i picked It up It was continuing to make the noise. I took It back and they told me they never removed It but charged me 10 dollars to "look over the car" i left It with them for another day i receive a call saying they want to charge me 99 dollars for a diagnostic fee and that they suspect transmission issues. I did not trust them so i took It to the Toyota dealership. It was 3 screws missing in my skid plate..... dealership charged me nothing. They messed up their work and did nothing to fix their failure. I went in to replace one tire, with cross-threaded lugnuts. I had to replace two stems, and was told I needed 4 new tires. The very next morning, one of the tires was flat. When I went to change the tire, it also had also been cross-threaded and stripped. The first person I spoke with wouldn't even acknowledge what I said about the cross-threading. The second person, who was very nice and I believe as helpful as store policy allowed her to be, took my stripped lugnut and said she would look into it. She came back and only said that they were able to get it back on, but that stem would need replacing soon too, and it would be $90. The only reason it needs replacing is because they cross-threaded and striped the stem and lugnut. I very disappointed that they did not make this right. read more

I was able to make a next-day appointment for my car repair. When arriving for my appt, I asked for a time estimate, and was told about an hour. I walked out the door an hour (just as promised!) after walking in as a very happy customer! Timely service, friendly staff, fair prices. I will be a return customer! I've been here three times in the last year. Always able to make an appt within 24hrs, always professional and timely service, and I've never felt pressured to spend a lot of money on suggested "extras" like you do at many mechanic shops. We are moving, and I hope I can find a quality, timely, and honest place such as this in our new hometown. read more

we were headed home and caught a flat (driver front tire)we road it to the closet lot changed the tire continued on its 4am within 15 20 minutes the right front tire went flat we moved from the far lane to the median called a tow truck Dennis to be exact they came we took the car to firestone because enterprise and firestone work together so it should be no problem . Next morning firestone says they will have it fixed later that day. They never called i called back the said they needed the whole wheel to be ordered and enterprise did not approve the whole wheel just the tire. Enterprise firestone then proceeds to give us the run around now it went from 2 flat tires to 2 wheels to 4 wheels were messed up to 1200 worth of damages . WHERE DID ALL THIS COME IN AND WHY DID THE BACK TIRES NEED TO BE CHECK . Now the car has been out of our possession for almost a week and enterprise claims to not know where it's at . This vehicle has our belongings in it and we need them especially the kids car seats this car is not found and my belongings are not found we will take all measures to get our belongings back we have not gave Them any problems and we will not be blamed for any thing on this car damaged but the front 2 tires a complaint will be wrote out asap btw Leon at firestone had the nerve to say it looked like we were on a high speed chase and alot of made up stuff that never happened they tried to bully us to use there service for this high price so they refused to release the car firestone has never been my go to place because they always try and beat you in the head with prices but this has went to far as to discrediting my family and making up lies and being rude because we didn't want to use there service read more

I am new to Richmond and needed some work done on my car. I chose Firestone because they accepted the same credit card my repair shop back home used to take. They fixed my problem but charged me a lot of money. Also talked me into getting other things I didn't need. The thing that infuriates me the most is that I asked them to do my state inspection and they told me I failed because my 3rd rear brake light was out & wanted to charge me another $400 to fix it. I believed them but wanted to get a second opinion & I'm glad I did. Went to another repair shop and my car passed. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR TO THIS PLACE! Had a flat, and of course they couldn't patch it so I "had" to get 4 new tires. For $700. Went to pick up the truck. Dead battery...so they charged it. Next morning? Battery dead again. My truck has never had a battery problem since I bought it, so really, thanks for somehow draining my battery and taking me to the cleaners simultaneously. I'm glad that you got to listen to my stereo while you gave me four new tires that I probably didn't have to buy, drain my battery that was working fine, and also made me have to spend money on a new battery that I didn't need before you put your hands on my truck. Friendly, efficient service and employees that give you a timeline and stick to it. We had our car towed and dropped off overnight, and called in right at opening the next day to explain the problem. When we got to the shop, they told us they would have the problem assessed by noon. Sure enough, shortly before noon, they called us and told us it was a problem with the alternator. They said they would have the repairs done by 3pm, and sure enough, they did! Of course, they tried to tack on extras like charging up the battery and a yearly inspection, but nothing too egregious. Cost us about $300 to get an electrical test, replace the alternator, and charge up the battery. The employees were friendly and professional. read more

I was given a false battery inspection during my routine oil change and tire rotation. Firestone told me the battery in my 1-year old car needed replacement. Since it's still under warranty, I took it to the dealership. Two hours later the dealership told me it was fine -- no need for replacement. So that was how I spent my afternoon thanks to Firestone. read more

DO NOT GO HERE! Honestly, I had a tire warranty with them so the only reason I went is because I had a nail in my tire and needed it changed. They do other work on your car without asking for permission first, because I did not want the other work done they said they could not guaranty the warranty on the tire and gave me a hard time. The next day I try to turn on my car and it would not start and I never had any problems with it prior to that. I don't know if that's a coincidence or not but when I had to jump my car the compartment that the battery was in that is usually closed was open. Not only that, previously my brother went in to get serviced and had a dent in his car when he picked it up that had to go to a body shop for two weeks. They are extremely overpriced, have awful customer service and every time myself of a family member of mine comes to this location we leave disappointed. The Good: they normally offer good value coupons;you can usually get a last minute appointment; and they offer some service specials such as lifetime tire balance, and lifetime alignments, that are hard to find anywhere else!! The Bad: they take FOREVER to service your vehicle, and that has been my experience with the chain in general, not just this dealership. There seems to be some unwritten rule to keep your vehicle AT LEAST two hours, even for a basic oil change. My daughter went in for an oil change and a tire rotation/balance. She had a two hour window. An hour and 45 minutes later they delivered the car to her and told her they didn't have the time to do the tires. ONE HOUR AND 45 MINUTES FOR A BASIC OIL CHANGE. Recently, I took my truck to another store for the same service plus I had them just 'check' my alignment. I had an 8:30 appointment; they called me at 1:15 to say 'your vehicle is ready.' Almost FIVE HOURS LATER. Methinks they overbook, but the customer suffers.The moral of this story: if time is NOT an issue, check them out!! If it is, go elsewhere!!! read more

Needed an inexpensive set of tires for my 12 year old car. I don't put more than 2000 miles on it each year so I didn't need anything fancy. Got a quote online for $315, four new tires, out the door. Had an appointment for noon and they said it would be 2 hours so when we returned at 2 pm to check in, they gave my husband a 2 page list of other issues the car "has" and they made it seem like even just driving it home would be unsafe. They kept pushing to do the work and my husband repeatedly told them we just want the tires. They said they probably couldn't even get them on due to the issues the car "has". At this point it is after 4 pm and we are completely out of patience. Finally, by some "miracle" they put the tires on but said it needed an alignment. We ended up having to demand that the car be taken off of the alignment rack so we could leave. They charged us more than the online quote (about $40 more, but still, you do that all day and you can steal a lot of money from your customers). As we drove away, concerned that they weren't actually lying about the car, you could actually hear what sounded like nuts and bolts falling from the car on Broad street. A few days later, I went to my trustworthy oil change guys. They checked each problem on the list and found that with the exception of an on-the-low-side battery, every single thing on the list was untrue. Firestone even said I had a cracked oil cap- how easy is that to verify? To top it off, just had my car inspected today and I passed without a problem because the car is in such great shape. I do NOT recommend firestone, find a business that only does tires and provides no other car services. read more
