Paid for a complete car inspection +, cost around $50 which was fine, to find out what was making a bubbling noise in my car, when they first did the inspection they said they didn't hear any noise showed them a video found the problem which was a busted radiator cap. Spent around $70 feeling good that the problem was fixed, only to find out the next day the hose that connects was leaking all over and the bubbling noise had gotten worse. Went in, and they explained the hose had cracked, I asked why this wasn't mentioned in the report and they claimed it happen after I left the shop and they didn't see any wear or damage or a reason to replace it when I got the inspection but then they quoted me for $525 for the replacement part and labor. Felt like I was getting ripped off so chose not to spend half a grand. Steve offered no solutions as to why this had all happened. But did tell me I didn't have any clamps... which is shocking to me since my car had clamps Update: car is now overheating and sounds worse. Hubby and I traveled to Scottsdale to hike. We noticed our rental car had a very low front tire as we got into town. We filled it with air at a local gas station and got up very early to be at the Firestone Auto Care by 7:30 as we wanted to take in a hike before we traveled to Tucson that afternoon. I was skeptical that Firestone would be able to fit us in and if so, would the tire be able to be patched. Steve Epler, the store manager, got us in right away and had us on our way in less than an hour. He was very friendly and made our day. I definitely would recommend this place. Sometimes in life some people can go overboard in helping you. You always want to remember those instances so when the time comes for you to help others, you will do so. Matthew at Firestone was my savior. I ran into a tall curb in Fry's parking lot on 90th St. I was not supposed to be driving as I had shoulder surgery a few weeks ago and was still had my left arm in a sling. But, we were out of milk and dog food. My wife had an extremely important presentation at work in Glendale that afternoon. She was preparing for her presentation and reluctantly let me drive to get groceries. I couldn't take my car as it was a stick shift, hers was an automatic transmission. Hitting the curb severely damaged the right front tire. I immediately went over to Firestone on 90th St. I was desperate to get the tire replaced. I had to get home within less than an hour so my wife could get to her presentation. In charge at Firestone was Matthew. He said they did not have my tire in stock., but, he would try to find it nearby. He called another shop and found the tire needed, then called somebody who would deliver the tire to his Firestone. He said he could get it replaced in time for me to get home for my wife to drive to Glendale. He moved my job to the top of the list, to get it finished as soon as possible. We probably all have been promised job completions that never transpired. Much to my gratitude, Matthew delivered on his promise! I had a new tire installed and made it back home for my wife to make it to her presentation on time. I will be forever grateful to Matthew and Firestone for accomplishing such a fantastic feat for me! read more

SCAMMERS!!! Firestone is a joke!!! I went in and replaced all my tires. Checked in my truck with no issues, all tire sensors working. Picked up my truck and 1 sensor wasn't working. Took my truck back twice and Firestone couldn't fix it. They gave up and suggested I go to the dealership. Dealership replaced the sensor, which Firestone should have done and charged $300. I brought my receipt to Firestone so they could make it right and only offered me a $100 in-store credit. Why would I go back if they can't fix a simple sensor. I wouldn't let them check my air pressure. read more

This place is a complete joke and completely incompetent. I took my suv in today to get new tires after getting a quote online & a scheduled appt that I scheduled last week. Today was the first available to get in. I double checked that the price was what I was quoted last week & They would not honor the promotion that I was quoted online because "it ended 2 days ago" according to the girl at the front desk. No where did it say that the tires had to be purchased & on the car by June 30th!!!! When asked to speak to supervisor we were told that no one is there to speak to and they said they also didn't have corporate office info for us to speak to either!!! This is a piss poor excuse for a company that has been around for decades. So you guys let a customer walk away instead of honoring what you have posted online?!! As an owner of a veteran automobile I am now getting to really see how many horrible shops are are in Scottsdale. This shop takes the Cake when it comes to overpriced car service. They quoted me a price about triple of what I ended up getting done at another shop. Triple. They also quoted me $90 Plus tax to change the oil. They also had me wait multiple hours even before they took a look at the vehicle. Turned out to be an all day event. read more

My car requires 10 Quarts of oil, when I brought it to my Performance shop for an upgrade they noticed I was 4 QUARTS LOW ON OIL I don't know how you can miss that, and it was more expensive than my dealership. Drove my car like that for almost 2,000 miles and surprised I didn't drop a valve or throw a rod... Got my car pressure tested and thankfully it's not broken. Side note, my engine block costs $34,000. Don't come here. read more

I had my alignment done on my corvette, I knew it was way out of balance since I just did a bunch of work on the car myself. Rack and pinion, control arms, shocks, full rebuild. It was way out of balance. I knew it would take them a good amount of time getting it right. They didn't cut any corners, informed me every step of the way, and got it done right. I started bringing my 17 year pickup truck here in the past year. The first time was because the check engine light went on. Fearing the worst in this older truck I was please to hear that all I need was a new gas cap - no charge! The next time the check engine light went on it was a bad sensor. They replaced it and I approved a more detailed check up of fluids etc. as I was due. Pleased to hear nothing major. I felt that they had my best interests at heart and were honest. They explained what was done and never pushed to have additional work. They even included a coupon discount. I have since had my 25 year old niece have her car serviced here and she has been extremely pleased as well. The main reason I am writing this review though it to thank Steve for his assistance with my wife's car. We had gone in for her State Emissions test and it was declined due to a faulty odl (I think that is what it was called). We had no idea what that was and were treated very rudely when we asked at the Emissions Testing Center where it was and what needed to be fixed. They just said it was loose. We immediately went to Firestone. We spoke with Steve who never made us feel foolish. He took us out to the car to show us what an odl was, basically the box that connects to your dash lights when you start up your car. Within 30 seconds of looking under the driver's side console of the car he pushed the small control board back into place and we were set. No charge. Next day she passed her emissions test. His honesty, good humor and personal care has made us forever customers and we highly recommend their services. read more

They were honest with what needed to be done to be safe. Honestly I had concerns about going to a "chain" but twice they were able to get me in last minute and their hours 7-7 provide a lot of flexibility for pick up after work. This is the absolute worst Firestone shop on the planet. I ordered tires online and Firestone was the recommended installer. DO NOT LET THEM TOUCH THE ALIGNMENT ON YOUR CAR!!!!!! They told me it would take about 90 minutes to install the tires and they were going to do a FREE alignment check but I declined because there was nothing wrong with the alignment. After 6 hours had passed I called for an update. "They are just finishing up on your tires and we are moving the car to perform the alignment check". I told them again that I needed my car now and I do not want an alignment check. When I arrived to pick up the car after 7 hours of waiting for a tire install they told me they checked the alignment and they adjusted all 4 wheels! My care always drove straight as an arrow. On the ride home the car was pulling hard to the right. I checked the air pressure in my brand new tires upon arriving home only to find they were all filled to 71 PSI. The max inflation on the tires is only 51 PSI. They were supposed to fill them to 45 PSI. When I called to speak with the manager (MIKE) he acted unsurprised and he couldn't give a shit less if I had a problem. He rescheduled me for the following day to fix the alignment issue. I took the car for a ride and now the steering pulls hard to the LEFT. PLEASE. FOR YOU OWN GOOD. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE. I WOULDN'T TRUST THESE DUMBASSES TO SCREW IN A LIGHT BULB. read more

I went in for two new tires to match the tires I purchased at a competitor and the price was outrageous with tons of add-ons. In the interest of time, I moved forward. Then came the alignment scam. Sir, your alignment is out of place, would you like us to do an alignment. I responded that I thought I paid for that already and I have never had such a question asked at their competitors. We called at 4 and they said they were just starting and would call back shortly. Called again later as I knew they were closing soon and they "were about to do the alignment ". Less than 1 star if I could there are no minus signs. I took my car in and spent $1800 on replacing compressor and recharge Freon etc, 1 hour later the car blew hot. I took it back immediately and he told me it would be a few days to get to it, I was leaving on a trip that day, 2 hours later and 2 hours delayed he said the technician pinched the hose, their fault "sorry". A month later blowing hot again, I took it back and now its a hose, $1200 more dollars. It used to be Fletchers tire and they were honest and did good work. Just had a "free" brake inspection done. Guess what, it was free. There was no attempt to up sell another service. Steve took some time to show me the brakes and confirm no work was needed. Also showed me some optional lift points to insure that no damage would be done to the car's sheet metal if some other shop were to work on my car. This shop was the first place to replace my car's thermostat and have it stayed fixed. I had trouble with my thermostat for many months and had many different mechanics replace it for it to break again only weeks later, it has been well over 5 months since Firestone replaced it and I have not had any more problems with it. I have taken my car back for routine oil changes, and a new battery since. They are great at correctly quoting the final price and can get a vehicle in and out in reasonable time, even if you don't have an appointment. I guess i shouldn't be surprised at a national chain auto shop like this trying to get more money out of customers than originally quoted but when you drop your vehicle off for a $10 tire rotation and pressure check and then get told they cant get some of the lug nuts off so they're going to have to charge you to replace studs its a little ridiculous. So $10 was going to turn into more than $100. Their inspection also suggested $2300 more worth of work... I'll pass on ever returning to these guys again. This Firestone is not my favorite. My oil change was more expensive than the other Firestones I've been to. Also, I took my car in for a brake check then they "found" something wrong with the caliper and said it was going to be $700 to replace that plus the brake pads. I went to 2 other mechanics and both said there was nothing wrong and even if it needed to be replaced it shouldn't be nearly that much. More around $300. I'm going to continue to go to a different Firestone for my oil change because then I can get free tire rotations and the free alignments. But any other repairs I will be going to a different mechanic. read more

My family has used this shop for 22 years under the last owner for oil changes and repairs. Subsequently, I sent my 19 year daughter there for a simple conventional oil change. They asked her if she wanted her tires rotated too and she said sure. Her bill came to $53 for non-synthetic oil change. My big complaint was the time (a few hours) and they never told her they were going to charge her $20 to rotate her tires, a free service at this shop previously and every other shop we have been to. I felt like they took advantage of a young female customer. There are too many shops that change oil for $18 and will gladly rotate your tires for free. read more
