DO NOT HAVE YOUR CAR REPAIRED AT THIS FIRESTONE! They DO NOT deserve your business. Read as many reviews as possible. I had to take it here due to a one-off emergency situation. They've sabotage many cars, including mine, and provide an awful experience. I went in for an oil change and fluid flush and they provided an unnecessary list of other repairs. My car has a lot of miles, but they added unnecessary items to the repair list (I denied them due to how I had been treated) after review with my trusted and typical car shop. When my friend was replacing my radiator a few days later, we realized it had been sabotaged (see photos). My radiator was not cracked and leaking until AFTER I took it in here for repair and the location was incredibly suspicious. I nearly got stranded on the way home because of it after a week of issues that Firestone primarily worsened. Please do not make the same mistake myself and others have made because it will likely cost you. read more

We made an appointment for 2:30 and then dropped off our vehicle early. I checked in at 3:30 to see how it was going. They said it was in the shop being worked on and they would call when it was done. I show up at 4:30 thinking it would be at least close to finished. I'm told now they haven't started yet. This location sucks, refused to help me and two kids with a battery issue they sold me two years ago, ended up at the location on 75th st and they were very happy to help and even went the extra mile to replace battery cable etc I will never go to the Shawnee location again, both guys just sat there in front of the computer staring out the front window read more

Thievery! Brandi took her car to the Firestone on Shawnee Mission Pkwy. She had a sandwich baggie full of change in the center console. I saw it yesterday, it was full of quarters! When she picked the car up she found nothing but nickels and pennies in the bag, she was missing around $20. I saw the change. It was definitely there. She calls Firestone and they say "oh, that wasn't us because a really religious guy worked on your car and he wouldn't do that." Beware of this Firestone! Wheel studs broke on my daughters car. She had it towed in with 1 lug nut left. They quoted her $1700 to be drivable. New wheel - yep need that, new wheel studs and lug nuts - yep, New rotor - are you kidding me!! it only 2 months old and not a scratch on it!! New wheel hub, new wheel bearings, new cv axle shaft assembly - NOT A THING WRONG WITH ANY OF THAT STUFF. They saw a 21 year old girl that knows nothing about cars and tried to take advantage of her!! Good thing her dad knows enough about cars to question what they said and get a second opinion. Makes me wonder how many people they've ripped off and if they would have even changed the parts out. Let's talk about the price of the parts. They are double what you pay for the part at the part store. Even if you really do need a part fixed, they are jacking up the price of the parts. read more

I would give it zero stars but that's not an option...As soon as I walked in to get an oil change they told me they couldn't help me even before they asked me if I had an appointment. I looked past that and left my car to receive a phone call later telling me that instead of charging me the price I was quoted it would be more expensive than the dealership because of the kind of oil my car needed,mind you that when I made the appointment I was asked the make and model of what I drive that is how the quote is generated.It should have been honored... Term "First come, First serve" does not mean shit here!! Saturday went online and clicked "schedule appointment", several open times so I clicked for 11:00 am. Received an email "Request processing". Saturday got a call around 9:00 am that they did not have any openings!! WTF scheule was open online!! But we are first come first serve Sunday. Great see you 8:45 am. A series of unfortunate events has lead me to honestly say, this Firestone location should be avoided. I don't say this without multiple (as in a year and half span) experiences here with both my own vehicle as well as my ex's. As far as your standard oil change - I haven't had any issue here. Customer service has been very helpful over the phone, but the second you step in the store it seems to go out the window. I have been argued with multiple times over their own warranties as well as blatantly told that an alignment is not covered for 12 months....as is stated on their website and on their paperwork. I have also had services recommended to me that, after verifying with another location, are completely unnecessary and would not in fact fix the true issue. And, the service was over $300, for, what turned out to be an faulty Firestone tire that was covered under warranty. Sadly, this was not discovered at this location, I had to call corporate customer service after repeatedly being told different stories from each person working at this location. Honestly, with a plethora of auto service locations available in the area I would not waste your time coming to this location. read more

I had been using the Firestone on Kansas Avenue for some time but decided to try a different location. I'll try to be brief. About five years ago I purchased a pair of high-end snow tires for my truck that were only meant to be used when snow and / or ice were on the ground. I had purchased my own wheels for mounting. The tires are truly amazing, but one leaked immediately after being mounted. They fixed it without question. I've had a few flats repaired there since. This past July I put new strut assemblies on my wife's car and took it to the same store for alignment. I was informed that I needed to replace a tie-rod, which I did, returning it within a day for realignment. We had purchased a life-time alignment. When I picked the car up, the steering wheel was off center and when I peeked beneath the car, the tie rod boot was twisted a full revolution over itself. They had not loosened the clamp over the adjustment rod. I then had a slow leak on one of my truck tires which I took to Firestone for repair. The repair did not fix the leak. I ended up taking it to Discount Tire Center and they fixed the flat for free. I then purchased four tires for my wife's car from them and took the car to Firestone again to have it realigned. The wheel had been straightened by another facility prior to this appointment. We got the car back and low and behold, the wheel is canted to the left! We'll not be back. Discount tire has our tire business from now on. If only they performed alignments.... read more

I took my car to firestone with an issue in the POWER STEERING. I specifically asked that they inspect it because I suspected there was a leak and it might need replacement. I signed a work order for a $50 inspection of my POWER STEERING. Upon receiving a call back from firestone I was informed that my POWER STEERING was okay and it didn't need any work, however the reason my steering was difficult was because an AC belt had snapped and supposedly that's what was making my steering harder. The mechanic on the phone quoted me almost $900 to fix it and assured me that was the problem (I even made sure to specifically ask if this would fix my STEERING, because that's all I needed fixed.) I was assured this fix would fix everything. So I told them to go ahead and do the work, I mean I'm 20 years old and I know nothing about cars so I assumed that firestone was providing me accurate information, seeing as how I paid $50 for my POWER STEERING to be looked at. Never one time did I mention anything about my AC, only after I was told that would fix my steering did I agree to let them work of it. So I go in and pick up my car and pay the $900. About 3 days later my steering was getting jumpy again and kind of difficult. So about another week and a half goes by and my steering is GONE again. Just like before I ever took it to firestone. I took the car to a mechanic friend that I have and asked what the problem could be since I was assured everything was fixed. I explained to him exactly what I was told. He then informed me that an AC belt has NOTHING to do with your POWER STEERING. He checked the level of fluid in my power steering and told me it was EMPTY. Which indicates there is a leak, something that should have been VERY obvious when I paid for an inspection of my POWER STEERING. I went to Walmart and bought 4 bottles of power steering fluid and my steering will last about a day before it starts to give out again. I was lied to repeatedly by Firestone and when called and confronted about it all they had to say was that I signed the paper to agree to the work done on my car. Which is true, but it was signed under the pretext that it would fix my steering. Essentially all they did was FIX MY AIR CONDITIONER. THEY DIDNT EVEN FIX THE PROBLEM. On the invoice I received it Indicated they added a pint of steering fluid, which that on its own should have alerted to a leak because it shouldn't run out in the first place. Worst of all my engine smokes now since they worked on my car and when I open my hood the ENTIRE engine and underside of my hood are completely covered in power steering fluid. I would not recommend this firestone to my worst enemy. They took advantage of the fact that I am 1. Young and 2. Don't know anything about cars. Which wouldn't have mattered anyway I suppose since I knew what the problem was and asked that it be fixed. FIRESTONE decided to take it upon themselves to LIE to me about he condition of my power steering and then LIE to me about an AC belt affecting my steering so they could charge me almost $1000 instead of the few hundred it would cost to fix my power steering. Never EVER go to this firestone. They are the most dishonest mechanics I have ever been to. If you ever need to go get work on your car I recommend Anders Automotive. He fixed my alternator for a low price and it hasn't given even ONE issue since then. I went to firestone in a pinch bc my steer went out over the weekend and they were the only auto shop open. But you could NOT pay me to go back to them for ANY kind of work I need done. WORST MECHANICS EVER. read more

I've been to this location once and I will never go back. The oil change and tire rotation were fine. They recommended services that didn't end up being necessary. Somehow in the process of getting these routine maintenance issues my window was cracked. I went to show them and all three guys looking at it acted as if I was the one to blame for the cracked window. When I asked how it happened they told me "I'm not sure but we did not do that." Then they proceeded to tell me to file a police report if I wanted to do anything about it. They seem pissed off when you walk in to give them your business. I will never come back. read more

I'm so not a fan of these franchise tire places, but I had a blowout on my way home from work and these guys stayed open later just to help me get back on the road. They fixed me up within an hour and didn't try to sell me some crazy high performance tire. Granted, it was more than I ever pay for a tire but I was in a pinch and they didn't turn me away like the previous place I had tried. Props to the guys for really helping a girl out. read more

Took my car to get four new tires. Everyone was friendly. They showed me the price I was going to pay when I pick the car up. Turns out they no longer carry those tires so they put the more expensive ones on without my permission and wanted me to pay $200 more than what they told me the previous day. There is also a ding on my car door, I drive a white and I would've noticed this before I dropped it off. If I would've known all this I would've taken it somewhere else but instead they just did it without asking so I had to pay $200 more and I have a dent on my car. read more

Usually a good place to have repairs completed. Brought my daughters Eclipse in after driving up on a curb while turning. A flat tire and bent outer tie rod became a new rack and pinion assembly which included both inner and outer tie rod ends. On the plus side the tire was reasonably priced. Guess they don't make front ends to take a licking and keep on ticking. read more

We have been a loyal customer for close to 20 years with Firestone in Shawnee, KS on Shawnee Mission Parkway. Until yesterday, this has changed. Purchased new tires for our Toyota Sienna at 87k miles along with a lifetime alignment package. Brought in the van every 5k miles for oil changes and tire rotations. Never once has it been recommended to have our car to be aligned based upon irregular wear that their technicians have noticed. It took our Toyota dealer to alert us of an issue to which we brought it to Firestone's attention. They acknowledged that our tires would not make it to the 60k mile mark as this is what the tires are rated at. They told us that they would adjust us for new tires. Upon our visit to have this done yesterday, they have now denied this adjustment because we have no record of there being an alignment service being done during this time. They told me that it was our responsibility to tell them that we should have an alignment check. Apparently, the technicians can make recommendations for new batteries, air filters, etc based upon what they notice and deem to be an issue, but can't seem to come to us and say that there is a problem with our tires. We rely on their expertise to tell us that something is wrong. It should not be the other way around. So, we have paid for 60k mile tires that have been worn irregular after 30k miles. We have told them what Toyota has told us and they acknowledged that we have an issue, but still failed to even suggest to re-allign the vehicle. We are now out on some expensive tires and such poor customer service. The way that they treated us was so bad that I was beyond upset. This company apparantly lies and feels free to get away with it! After doing over 1200,00 in work on the auto-and now I am wondering if it was even needed-we asked them to check my air conditioning as it was not cooling as it used to. For 168.00 they supposedly fixed it with a recharge and vacuumed it out-they said it was running great. I got in to it today and it would not cool down, After taking it up there they are now trying to say it needs a new compressor for 1500.00 more! Do not trust this company!!!!!! read more

I called here on Sunday morning at 8:00 when they opened to find out if they would be able to put 4 new tires on my car that day. I was told that they did in fact have the tires I needed in stock and that they would need my car all day to do it. I explained that I couldn't be without a car all day and asked about what time they thought they could get to it. I was told if I dropped it off by 2-3 in the afternoon that they could have it done by 5pm when they close. I arrived there with my toddler at 2:15 at which point I was told that they could not in fact get my car in that day because they had run behind on other cars. I understand all of this, the issue I have is that they could have called me to tell me they couldn't take my car that day so that I could have gone somewhere else earlier in the day. I did in fact go elsewhere, and had new tires and was back on the road within 45 minutes. Firestone has lost me as a customer. read more
