Customer service not great and it's kinda dirty inside. Took about 2 hours for an oil change when I had an appointment scheduled a week in advance. The workers there were cussing under their breath etc., about work - which I totally understand, don't get me wrong... I just don't want to hear drama. Worst thing about it was - a few days later, my oil was leaking bad, like completely out and come to find out - they forgot to put a piece back on. This oil check cost me $70 at another mechanic. Okay, this is a story about owning up... And Angel and the team at this Firestone REALLY owned up to their word. Mistakes happen, and no one person is perfect. I can't stand those people who take advantage of the fact that they are the customer so that gives them a reason to act like an ass and be rude to the employees. Not okay. Having said that, I am not that guy so please know that you're getting an honest review. The short story: I ordered four new tires from this store one day. They gave me a great deal, rotations for the life of the tire, the whole 9 yards. I drove away a VERY happy customer. Then, about a year later, I was getting my car looked at (at another place) and the tech says "you need new tires in the front... Time to rotate. We'll do it for free for you..." Wait wtf? I just bought 4 new tires last year. So naturally, I did what any lazy American would do... I wrote him off as a crazy person and ignored him. Fast forward a month later... Getting the oil changed. Our family mechanic says "you need new back tires." I told him the last guys told me that and "all you people" are incorrect (yes... I used the term "you people..." It felt good...) The mechanic showed me that I had severely old tires in the back (the last tech have us that rotation and moved the tires to the back.) Deductive reasoning led me to believe that either: 1) I had 2 of my tires stolen and the thief was courteous enough to set me up with an old pair he saved for me, or 2) This Firestone forgot to install 2 of my 4 tires. I gave this Firestone a call and was very honest with them. I basically said that I understand if they don't believe me, but I was telling the truth and was on my way to speak with the manager. Angel gave my situation an honest listen, and immediately made it right. 2 new tires were installed without a fight... I couldn't believe it. This is what customer service is all about. When they messed up, they owned it and then made it right. Mega thanks and kudos to Angel and his team. I'll definitely be a returning Firestone customer! read more

I've used Firestone for all my car needs since 2015 when my factory warranty expired, so I have several years of history of routine maintenance and a few major repairs with them. I came to this location for regular maintenance- oil change, check fluids, etc. I recently noticed my air conditioner not blowing as cold as usual, something I experienced last year as well and had fixed at a different Firestone location. When I asked the employee helping me, I believe his name was Scott, that I had work done on it before, he could not find any of my work history in their system. I had to call customer service and go through the run around to find the information for him. Fortunately they were able to pull up my past history and Scott got the information he needed but the process took about 30 minutes and was extremely inconvenient. The redeeming part of this experience is that Scott was friendly and helpful and took care of the services I needed once we got past the system error part. read more

UPDATE: IF YOU WANT COURTESY AND A CALL BACK, DO NOT GO HERE. I went back 3 weeks ago about low tire pressure. Was told I would get a call back for the price of new rims. Never heard back. I called two days ago and was told Joe the Mgr would call me back. Two more days later - no call. Called this morning, joe was too tied up to speak to me. I RETRACT MY PREVIOUS GOOD REVIEW. THE ESSENTIALS OF CUSTOMER SERVICE ARE COURTESY AND FOLLOW-UP, NEITHER OF THOSE VALUES EXIST HERE. Second time here - honest and helpful team. Brought an older model vehicle in because it wouldn't start. Gonzo advised to do a prelim test (less expensive than the full diagnostic). He discovered that they couldn't solve the issue and recommended a different repair approach. I was impressed at how John the manager was very honest and helpful, ended up not even charging me for the diagnostic since they couldn't do the repair. Before leaving on our move to Boston we noticed the check fuel cap light was illuminated and gas was rapidly depleting. In panic we stopped by the service center for some advice. The store manager personally came to check out our vehicle. After taking to his foreman they figured out that Tires Plus had forgotten to screw in a filter! They fixed everything and sent us happily on our way.... saving us a world's of stress and concern. We are so grateful for Firestone and their ability to hire stand up men. Don't go here if you have a nice set of rims. The manager told me they're not capable of handling nice wheels. It could have been that fact I pulled in 5 minutes before closing. I had severe vibrations on the highway and pulled in desperate for help and to make sure one of my wheels was not falling off. They would not help and told me I should go where I got the tires put on, which was all the way back in St. Pete. You cant even check to make sure my one of my wheels not going to fall off??? Thanks for making sure I was safe. Great service!!! Unlike when I pulled into signature tire and auto care, who stopped their guys from leaving for me. read more

Came to Westshore Firestone. Lawrence said he is the manager. I asked for tire rotation, alignment and maintenance. I went to the mall to walk around. Super fast service. They called me. I asked if they did tire rotation, they said yes. I asked Lawrence why it does not show on the paper receipt. He said it is because he did it for free so he didn't charge me. I responded saying they never charge me, I paid to have the service for lifetime free rotations and it always includes in the paper "tire rotation n/c". He said he will add to the receipt and print a new one. He then got Bryan (technician) who said he did NOT rotate the tires because it didn't need to be done. I asked if the alignment check was done. They said yes but they can't print the paper because the printer is not working. They would have to put my car again on the thing again to show me the alignment is ok. I said "why can't you print it on the printer you used for the paper receipt?" The receipt is on a regular-sized paper and is even in color. He said "it is a different computer and printer so they can't." This all sounds like BS to me. It is all unfortunate because mechanics have a bad reputation and this encounter did not help. I read great reviews about this place - yet, when my son stopped in on a Thursday morning at 8:15am with a blown rear tire, and asked the person behind the desk if Firestone could provide assistance, the person did not look up but simply said, "NOPE." In what universe is this "exceptional automotive service", or "complete auto care" or "providing for all your car care needs" ? Hello, building customer rapport - is that important to these folks ? Apparently not. Avoid these jerks like a bad disease, folks. There are other establishments on Kennedy that want your business. read more

My car overheated at 6pm and fortunately, I was near this Firestone store. I pulled in as they were about to close and spoke with Marcel. He was wonderfully helpful, and actually advised me to go to the dealer and save money since it was an engine issue that would be covered under my warranty. He locked my car up overnight, free of charge, until it could be towed to the dealer the next morning. Marcel was thoughtful, courteous and concerned for my safety as a single woman, stranded in Tampa in the dark. I have had perfectly good experiences with this Firestone Store in the past with tire changes and such, but this extended courtesy and helpful hand was a Godsend at an anxious time. I went in to get a tire replaced. Lawrence the service advisor was pretty good with explaining the different tire options and giving recommendations. Service was fast and affordable. Areas for improvement include more comfortable seats and maybe some cookies in the waiting area. Overall, would highly recommend this place for tire needs. And highly recommend Lawrence. read more

I took my car here to have a check engine diagnostics and a full car inspection done on my car. It took them almost all day to call me to inform me what they found with the full car inspection and I asked them what codes they found on the check engine diagnostics and they said that never got to it and asked could I leave my car overnight! So I called at 11am the next day to check the status of my car and just an FYI they open at 8am so I figured if I call at 11am they should have done the diagnostics.... NOPE they were working on another car and they said that they would be done with it shortly and then get to my car. So I waited until 2pm to call them to check the status again and they asked me again could they keep my car overnight because they are busy and can't get to it. So I told him no I need my car and he said that he advises me to come pick it up! They only called me once! I had to follow up with them three times. Not once did they call me and let me know they couldn't get to my car! Very unprofessional I would never recommend this location to anyone. read more

I've come here twice, and would not recommend. Over-inflated estimated wait times (two and a half hours for a tire patch!?), and sub-par work (my tire was improperly rotated backwards.) Not to mention condescending answers to my questions (I'm a woman, and the man at the front desk felt the need to talk down to me every time I opened my mouth.) The staff at the downtown location is nicer and a bit more prompt with their work, but I'll be looking for a different auto care company altogether next time. read more

I have very mixed emotions about my experience the past few WEEKS. I originally brought my truck in for an oil change. It's a very convenient location for me so I figured why not. I paid for a full inspection and oil change. I wasn't surprised when they called me about my breaks. They had been squeaking and I knew it was about time for new ones. I agreed to fixing my breaks so they total was about $580. I get my truck back and everything was fine. The next day my husband noticed I was leaking oil. I immediately called and they told me to bring my truck back in. I brought it back and the girl up front with some of the mechanics were more concerned in talking to each other about their personal lives than greeting me. Once they finished their conversation I was acknowledged and was told it would be about an hour. When I came back the tech told me the oil cap had forgotten to be tightened. A few days later my breaks still didn't feel right and they were still squeaking! I called again, brought my truck back in and they said the break adjusters were loose and had to replace another one?! Finally 2 weeks later my breaks were STILL not right (still squeaking and "jumped" when I had to break fast after someone cut me off). I called AGAIN and was able to talk to the GM. He assured me they would take care of everything. They ended up putting in all new breaks. They made it right but really 4 th times the charm? I do feel if I talked to the GM the first time I wouldn't have had to come back all these times! So I gave 2 stars because they finally did make it right and I appreciate when companies take responsibility for wrong doing. read more

Please have a seat, because there is tea to be spilled about this garbage establishment. If I could have given no stars I would. I got my tire patched yesterday, (2/24/15), and I will say it was done quickly. However, today (2/25/15) my tire exploded on 275 and I ended up facing the wrong way looking at oncoming traffic flying past me, I am lucky to be alive. I managed to get my car off 275 and called Firestone immediately. I was told to "write this number down, call them and have your car towed here." There are TWO things I found absurd about this. First, you might want to apologize to your customer, especially if they tell you that your company almost cost them their life. Secondly, why don't YOU call and have a tow truck come pick me up, this is your fault. I was told the manager had left for the day (2PM on a Wednesday, must be nice) so I was left with the lovely "service manager" John. He was absolutely terrible to talk with on the phone and just about as helpful as a dead cellphone. The reason the "patch" job went so quick is because they clearly did a crap job. Went in for oil change. Asked TJ (guy at counter) to double check the battery, because I'm going on a trip. He said "No Problem, It's part of the 'Courtesty check'". I got a call from Firestone about 30 mins later, and they said the battery is bad and I need to replace it. They tried to sell me the battery over the phone and wanted to install it for $7.50. I said no, and not to do it. I went to pick up my car. Paid for the oil change and went to Advance Auto Parts. The batteries their are priced at regular retail, and I can install the battery myself. They checked the battery, and it tested good. The guy gave me a printout and it read they tested at 600CCA, which is the size of my battery. I took my car back to Firestone, and Angel (another guy at the counter) retested my battery. The prinout he gave me showed that it tested bad. I asked him why it would test bad. He wouldn't give me a straight answer. When I showed him the printout from Advance, he sighed, and went back inside. I went home, checked my records, and found my receipt for the battery and it was only 8 months old. I went to Autozone across the street from my house for a 3rd opinion. Autozone's test came back that the battery was good. Firestone tried to sell me a battery that I did not need. Also, went to check engine coolant before my trip, and it was almost empty. My "courtesy check" was supposd to check the coolant level. The tech marked the "ok" box, but it was clearly not ok. I had to fill it up before I left on my trip. Firestone is not to be trusted. I've been going their for 3 years now with 2 vehicles every 3-4 months. They have lost a loyal customer over a battery and a $7.50 serv charge. What a disappointment. Counter guys - TJ, Angel..
