These guys are great. I've been going here for 22 years. And I'm in Valrico, now, so it's over half an hour to drive over there. But never fails. If I pull up no appointment or anything, have a tire problem or brake problem or whatever they're always there to instantly help me even if they have a big crowd. We took my roommates car in there, monday. 2 Mercedes tires, he had a nail and 2 of them. The guys totally took the tires off. Looked for the leaks pulled the nails out didn't have to plug them because they didn't go all the way through. And didn't even charge us? That's amazing Customer service! I would give this place negative stars if I could. Do not come here if you expect good work to be done to your car that won't come back and bite you later. Got an axle changed and a month later got a diagnosis of a leaking axle seal, called to ask why they didn't change the seal at the same time of the axle and they said because it wasn't leaking when they looked. Then proceeded to quote me $250 for the fix with the part only being $10! Because they'd have to remove said axle again -_- I promise you if they had asked me when they changed the axle if I wanted to pay an extra $10 to change a 14 year old seal I would have said yes!! Anybody in their right mind would have said yes! Every single other mechanic I asked said they would have just changed the seal at the time of replacing the axle. I don't know if these guys are just dumb or if they enjoy other's suffering but I'm staying well away from this place. I'd have to be a fiddle or a masochist to ever trust these guys with my car again. read more

I walked into Riverview Tire and Auto Service this morning as a returning customer. I waited patiently in line for over 5 minutes and the man (white man with long hair) behind the counter refused to acknowledge and or help me. When he called for the next person in line I went up and he refused to look at or acknowledge me. A white man in front of me pointed to me as I was next in line. The man behind the counter continued to ignore me. Another white man (customer) came in after me and he was called to the desk where he was helped at the counter. The man working at this place is clearly a racist and sexist. I am extremely hurt, infuriated and disgusted that a small business would hire such a racist person. I am a hispanic woman and am not prone to play the race card, however this was obvious and blatant racism that constituted writing a review. read more

They've saved me a few times. It's hard to find a mechanic to trust, but this is the one place I'll bring my cars to. They've helped me with oil leaks, shaking in steering wheel, engine idling out, and power steering issues (unfortunately common problem with Chevy Traverses). Every time they'll check out the car and be honest with me and don't try and upsell! Much respect to these guys! read more

Took my car here when I first moved to the area to get the tires balanced. Seemed like great people, chatted with them for about an hour about school and my situation. A couple weeks later I was doordashing and my car started to smoke. Since it was late at night and I was new to riverview, I had AAA take it here because I trusted them. A few days later they called me and told me I needed a whole new transmission. Took it to Clarke automotive for a second opinion, where they fixed the radiator cap, and turns out I didn't need a new transmission. Seems like they tried to take advantage of me. I understand this is common and they specialize in tires, but a little more transparency would've been nice. I gave two stars because I'm not sure if they were trying to take advantage or they were just unsure. read more

Unfortunately was recommended to this place. I went there to have diagnostics and an oil change done. Before I left a mechanic tested my battery multiple times and it was fine. I called back an hour before them closing and asked for an update and the woman told me it just needs a new battery. I was relieved and thought to myself it won't be too much to have a new battery and oil change that I was already quoted $65. Woman said car would be done in the morning. When I went to pick up my car and went inside and was shocked to hear the amount of $294 for a battery and an oil change. People never informed me of how much it would be nor if I wanted to carry on with it. This is a very sheisty and shady place of business and highly recommend staying away read more

No appointment yet they got me in and out in about 30 minutes. I can't say much for the actual work, because how would you know? For all I know they put Chinese oil made from melamine extract in there. Other than some strange prolonged stares from the local Riverview folk it was a good experience. Very nice people and reasonable prices. I had tires put on my car I bought from Tirerack.com and cost $80 and change. I had another estimate at a place closer to me here in SCC for $130! Used to take all my vehicles here for all services when John and Lawrence ran the shop, John always made things right and never over charged or did more work than necessary After John quit the daily grind the quality and honesty went down hill. The last time I was due for brake work Carmen wanted to replace everything on all 4, quoted almost 800.00. Told her that was not going to happen, she dropped price to 620.00 best she could do. Took it to P and M on 90th and Palm River. They said 2 calipers and pads, 240.00 out the door, all good. Been perfect for 17k miles now. This shop is still great for tire service. read more

Great mom 'n pop place to go to for all your car needs. They're trustworthy and reasonably priced. I'd go to them before any of the known, franchised places like Tuffy, Midas, Tires Plus, etc. They do what is needed and don't try to get more services out of you. The only reason this is 4 stars and not 5 stars is because one time, someone took all my quarters from my console and when I called them about it, they denied it ever happened. I wrote a bad review for them about this incident on Better Business Bureau and then they called me and gave me discount on an oil change. Other than that, great place to go to. read more

I've been coming to this place for a decade now. They're fast, depends on the day and time, but even on their busier days they try and get you out as fast as they can. They're affordable. They won't jip you and tell you exactly whats the issue with your car. Its tough being a woman and going to the mechanic because most places want to cause panic and have you pay for crap you dont need. But not these guys! I moved to South Tampa about 2 years ago and still make the trip to Riverview because I trust and love these guys that much. read more

I called in to get pricing for labor and an refurbished AC compressor. They would not give me a price on the part. I was not asking for the price of the complete job. I just wanted to know how much they could get the part for, which they refused to tell me. Seems to me they likely play with their pricing depending on how much work you're getting done. First time i tried this place out due to weekend rear tire breaks ER. Boy were they busy and unorganized. I spent almost 2 hours waiting which isnt to bad but once repairs were complete, service paid for in full, i still waited for 20 more minutes for someone to find my car & pull it up to the front. One of the owners was there spitting out commands to the employees while the whole crowd of customers could here vs providing support & appropriate direction to the staff. The only person that provided me with confidence was Amber & the Service Tech who provided detailed explanation of his findingd and repairs. Amber advised that she was the new Manager and is doing her best to turn things around. Id return as long as Amber were to help me out & continue to have technicians provide detailed explanation to those that dont comprehend and/or appreciate details. read more

Took my son's car in for a radiator, they replaced it after a lot of back and forth. In less than 6 months later I had to go back because the radiator that they replaced was bad; they told us that we had been in a car accident and it had push the radiator and the radiator broke the water pump as well. I could not believe what they were saying. I assured them that the vehicle had not been in an accident nor was there an impact sign on the body of the car for them to tell us that. The owner was adamant and told us that we had to replace the radiator and water pump. They were charging us $150 more in cost for each compared to market price. I opted to buy my own radiator and water pump and had them replace it. (I regret having them do the work but it would have cost me nearly $75 to have the vehicle towed somewhere else) They actually asked my son to change his previous rating in Yelp in order to provide services. They were very disrespectful. Talk down to my son and when I went in they talked to me like I was an idiot. DO NOT and i meant DO NOT take your vehicle to this place. We pulled in at last minute because we saw a nail in our truck tire. After going to a larger tire place and them saying they couldn't help us, this small little place did and it was pouring! Go here if u want to. Crooks. Used to be decent mech shop but now just crooks. Had a break inspection done and 2 hours later said the rear drums needed to be turned. Ok. Then 1 hour later i overheard a mech say that the lathe was chewing up the drum. What? U said u were just turning them. Then had the nerve to say i needed new drums. Well no shit after u jacked them up. Went somewhere else the next day and they said yes the drums are messed up because of Riverview tire. $300 later to fix the Riverview tire said they would pay for it. Ok cool. NOT. Took the bill to them and they crawfished liked the crooks they are and only paid $70. 10-4. Me whole family has been going here for years. Not ever agaain.
