The problems continue since I wrote my original review on June 4, 2025. Our minor son heard a knocking noise from the right rear of our 2011 Ford Fusion. It turns out that the shock that was not tightened by Firestone back in May, 2025, even though they had the car for 3 days, was making that noise, because it was still not tight, despite two trips to Firestone to take care of it. Consequently, on Monday, August 11, 2025 I had to pay another shop for a new bolt and nut on the bottom of it, and to install same. read more

Had a scheduled oil change for my 2010 VW. Arrived and was told they didn't have the filter in stock but they may have one in town. Got a call a few hours later that my car was done. After picking it up and driving for maybe 30 minutes my oil pressure light came on. Turns out they put the wrong filter in. I had to take it to the VW dealership and pay for another oil change 5 miles after the one from Firestone. I have always used the dealership but with this being right down the street I thought I would give them a chance, first and last time. read more

I pulled out the front facia from parking over a high curb in my Sienna. Late Friday afternoon I called the Firestone at 1453 S. Byrne Rd., in Toledo and talked to Ashton. I told him I was from the Chicago area and would really like to get it fixed before driving home on Sunday. He said to bring it in Saturday morning and they would try to fit me in. Saturday morning I brought it in and talked to Ian, who checked me in. Within 30 minutes or so, Eric checked me out with the job complete. Cost was just over $10. This kind of service, with less than 24 hours notice, from 3 friendly and helpful staff members, for this cost is beyond incredible. I had a major emergency on a Sunday of 2024. Mr Ian Albert's the service manager at the byrne road location made it possible for me to be back on the road that same day. Scheduled an appointment for an oil change online through their app at 4pm. I drove all the way up there, only for the guy to say he didn't get my appointment and that they were busy. I had all the proof in my email and on my phone that it got scheduled. He tried to lie and say he called and left me a voicemail about it the day before, which was impossible because I scheduled the appointment THAT morning. It would've been fine that he did not receive the appointment because I could've reschedule and come back but had he not tried to lie about it I would have gave a better review. He even pulled up my name on his computer, showed me, and it read "scheduled". read more

Awful, and unprofessional. We brought our car, a 2007 Saturn Aura in for steering problems, which included an $1,166.92 repair and replacement of the rack and pinion an complete removal and replacement of the steering gear on July 22nd. We got it back July 26th. However, a month later, on August 26th, the steering crapped out so badly that we got stuck sideways in the middle of a road while trying to turn around and we were only BARELY able to get the car running again. We brought it back in and they quoted yet another repair to us consisting of removal and replacement of the powered steering hose twice, which totaled up to $1,373.09. Upon questioning this exorbitant new rate, Eric the service advisor told us that the parts replaced before didn't actually need to be replaced and that this new repair quote was what had to be fixed. He also told us that he had found this problem previously, but didn't want to include it in the billing at that time. Upon questioning, he denied all of this, and honestly pretty rudely at that. We demanded our money back, as another mechanic we actually trust confirmed that it was likely an installation mistake on their end, since the powered steering was now gushing fluid. But we don't trust Firestone anymore and we do not want them handling our car again. However Eric vehemently denied our refund despite all evidence pointing to this being the fault of the shop and told us to just come back in. We refused for obvious reasons. On top of nearly getting us KILLED, they now very rudely and unprofessionally refused our request for refund of this expensive, and according to Eric's admission, utterly unnecessary repair for the service which cost us over $1,100 for services that WERE NOT RENDERED. So since the company won't work with me, I'll be taking not only to social media about this blatant grift, but also the Better Business Bureau and the Attorney General over this. If they won't work with me, maybe they'll be happier working with THEM. I'd give this place zero stars if I could. One star implies they've done SOMETHING right. read more

This is the best Firestone location I've been to. I was here a few years ago when the service was pretty subpar, but was informed it is under new management as of this week, and the new manager Craig was amazing. I only came in for a burnt out brake light, but once I mentioned I'm heading back to NYC the next day, Craig had the mechanics give me an insanely thorough check to make sure I was ready for my 600 mile drive home. They were friendly, skilled, efficient and ridiculously affordable. I will absolutely be coming back here next time I visit my family in Toledo. read more

On Tue the 9th of jan 2018 i took my car in for a power steering pump. Great job was done that day. Now during the week after was still having problems with it. called thurs or fri to set up another appt on tues the 16 at 9. took car in and about they 11 discovered that the new pump was bad. added on a lens cleaning kit and went on my way at the time there were 2 other cars with mine getting worked on. Called about 3:30 and was told they will be getting on it soon, called again at 5:30 and was told other cars with appts were ahead of me,only two cars to finish up should be ready on jan 17 morning or early afternoon. I just got off the phone with them and was first informed that almost done, them he went a checked another 2 and half hrs till done. Feels like if its warrenty work back on the line... Now i had pump 2 tires and front end alignment done on the 9th, so why so long now? read more

Dropped off my car for a frontend alignment after I had some suspension work done and about 10 minutes later they call to tell me that my mechanic didn't do a good job because some bolts were loose. I know for a fact that my mechanic did a top notch job so I was immediately suspicious. We get there and she not only was talking about loose bolts but was pushing tire rods and new tires. I said I would take it to my own mechanic and then she started talking more about the bolts. I asked her how much it would be for that to be taken care of and she just made some joke and didn't give me a price. Back in the office she had to change stuff in the computer because she had already written up a bill for work that hadn't been done. I said aloud that I wasn't paying for bolts to be tightened either since no one thought to mention a price of even ask for my permission. Some dude (I assume a manager of some sort) said that they couldn't turn a wrench for free so my car was dropped from the rack and I left. My car reacted very differently after Firestone had my car. I went straight to my mechanic and he examined the car. He agreed that THEY loosened the bolts since the car was fine before I went to Firestone compared to when I left. He also said that the tierods were fine and that the tires were a little bald but not yet serious. My mechanic tightened my bolts for free and it once again drives the way it did before I went to Firestone. I didn't mind that they tried to upsell me but I am going to recommend that everyone avoid them since they intentionally damaged my car in that attempt. For the record I work at a retail car parts store and customers frequently asked where they can get work done. Firestone is off the list. Toledo OH, Southland mall location. read more

I took a flat tire there to be fixed and went back to work. 90 minutes before closing, I called to check on the status and was told the tire was fixed. I had a quick meeting with an employee, and while in that meeting, i received a voicemail. I checked voicemail just before leaving to go get my tire, and low and behold, it was Firestone calling to tell me the tire was NOT repairable. I called back and was again told it wasn't repairable and was given prices for a new tire. I told them I wasn't going to replace the tire and I'd come get it. I did immediately go get it. As the guy waiting on my struggled to figure out what to do in the computer since they didn't repair it and I wasn't replacing it, the gal that first waiting on me came back in. She asked if I was replacing the tire since they couldn't repair it because the hole was in the sidewall. I said, "no, i was told it was fixed and then 20 minutes later got a call saying it wasn't repairable so I don't trust you guys to do anything to it." I took my tire and left. Hubby and I took the tire somewhere else on Saturday. Hmm. strange. The hole miraculously moved to the tread of the tire and was repairable. My gut was right and I will NEVER go back to Firestone and will tell everyone I know not to go here as well. read more

I've had my car serviced at many Firestones and I always have efficient and thorough service. This one is closest to my house and it is conveniently located and equally well run. My car will last a lot longer because it has had such great care at Firestone! read more

I took my car to Firestone because of two slowly leaking tires. I called ahead the night before to make an appointment. I dropped of my car, and was close enough to the store to be able to walk home. I was asked when I would need the car, and I said I would like it in three hours. I was told this was not a problem. Having heard nothing at all, I walked back to the store at the time I said I needed my car. It had been moved, but i learned nothing was done to it. There was a problem removing the wheel covers. I was told that they did not know how to do this, and should they damage the wheels in their attempt, I was told it would be expensive for me when I needed to replace the wheels they damaged. There was no communication to me in the three hours I waited. I had to stopped on my way home to put air in them until I can find a place that can fix my leaking tires or communicate with me should the tires need replacing. In fact, they could not even find my key when I got there. All in all, I cannot recommend this facility. read more

On a recent Saturday night at our hotel in Ohio we made the discovery of an ominous metal stud or spike sticking out of the right front tire. I had asked my wife if she noticed the odd sound as we careened down the Ohio Turnpike at speeds I should not admit to driving, and she did. This was cause for alarm. First, the Firestone store on S. Byrne Rd. was open on Sunday, a godsend. Second, we showed up there at 0900 for them to repair the tire. I left the keys with Manager Doug Durfey who very courteously reassured us that it would be looked at immediately, and awaited the damages while I took a walk around the neighborhood. Turned out to be nothing, the metal had not penetrated the air chamber of the tire. And they charged nothing. I was very grateful for this discovery and recommend that people go to this Firestone store where they will receive superior service at a very competitive price. We'll be buying tires there for our other 3 vehicles! read more

I came in with my truck just to have the brakes repaired, I left and my brake light was on but before I had went to them to replace my brakes my brake light wasn't on. I came back a few days later so that they can see what went wrong and they said that the brake drum was no good but it was weird because they had just inspected my brakes and it was crazy to me because they didn't tell me when they had replaced my brakes originally that my brake drum was messed up and then a few weeks later I had realized that I had ran out of brake fluid, when they change your brakes they are supposed to give you new brake fluid. I think they had drained my brake fluid and messed with my brake drums or tried to make me think there was something wrong with my drum because weirdly enough only one of my brake drums was messed up and the other was perfectly fine.... If anyone has a weird occurrence like this be warned and get your car checked by someone else. This place is sketchy. read more
