I went on a busy Saturday night, there was a bit of a wait for a table but my goodness was it ever worth it! The service was great, the food is wonderful and fresh and served quickly for such a busy night. I don't live in Lethbridge but I will come back to this little gem any time I am in town. Our last meal here is our LAST MEAL HERE. Half-hour wait became 1-hour wait. Hostesses sat people they knew immediately upon arrival (we knew the people too & asked them). Manager asked how our meal was, then argued with us about the temperature of the steak (apparently, the chilled butter rosette SHOULD NOT warm/melt atop the steak), and the dysfunction of the waiting list system (being a guest of the hotel is not on par with "call ahead" seating preference. Also, we would happily have taken our pager to the video lottery lounge or up to our room, but were told the pager would not work (moments later, another diner-in-waiting was told the pagers worked anywhere in the hotel). Always an amazing breakfast for a great price. I've been coming to this restaurant for years and I can say that they make the best and most generous breakfast in Alberta. Awesome roasted potato hash browns with amazing eggs, the proteins are abundant and incredible, if you get the "Big Breakfast " it comes with 2 bacon 2 sausage and a generous piece of ham as well as some baked beans and a towering pyramid of fresh fruit. We went last night and had one of the best suppers I've had in a long time!!! We are the steak dinner and the butternut squash ravioli from the new feature menu Eatly. Amazing dishes, the steak was cooked perfectly and the pasta was flavourful! The coconut macaroon cheesecake is heaven! We will definitely be going back. read more

They have some great brunch menu items that are very tasty including the stuffed french toast and the short rib eggs benedict (two of my favorite things combined). read more

Although i'tll probably be hard to believe after reading this review, I am by no means a picky eater, but I have eaten at Firestone on many occasions and have never really enjoyed the food so I've finally decided to share some of my own experiences. From the appetizer list, I've tried the onion rings (some are cut so thick that they are literally raw), deep fried pickles (the pickles are sliced so thin that you don't even taste them), and the crab cakes (a little on the bland side). As for the entrees, I've tried a few sandwiches which were all very bland, the French fries are never seasoned at all, and the pad Thai and veggie stacks are, to put it frankly, repulsive. Anytime I've had breakfast, the meat is always overcooked and if you're looking for good pizza, I'd suggest Two Guys or Tops. The service is often very slow. They almost always miss items when we get takeout. The food always comes out either cold, overcooked, undercooked, or dry. As I'm writing this, I'm actually astonished that I've continued going with my friends and family! I will say this though: them doughnuts are to die for. read more

Very disappointed with the direction this restaurant has taken. Our last visit was by far the worst! 1. Waiting an extensive period of time for the food to arrive. 2. Servers not taking the time to check back on the table very shortly after meal has been served. Last visit - one of the guests had ordered salad and it arrived without dressing. It took about 8 mins to get anyone's attention last visit! 3. Quality of food is mediocre at best. It used to be excellent all the time. 4. Children's meals arrived with 2 side orders each of fries (rather than 1 fry, 1 fruit type of thing). The children never received the cookie/ice cream that accompanied their meal. 5. Nothing available for vegans - even after inquiring whether anything could be made without meat and the server said NO. 6. Waiting over 1/2 hour after we were finished eating before the bill arrived and then waiting another 15 mins for the debit machine. If someone was in charge of the whole dining area and could observe what customers might need I'm sure the service would be far better. read more

Very disappointed with the direction this restaurant has taken! We've been here multiple times over the past year . Tonight was probably the last time we'll visit this restaurant. It was difficult to make reservations (because we were a party of 8, rather than 6). I had to leave my number to be called back at after the manager 'approved' a reservation of that size. We ordered our entrees but the server said there was nothing on their menu anymore like a 'meatless burger' for the family member who was a vegan. After our meals arrived nobody checked back for quite awhile to see if we had everything (dressing was missing for a Caesar salad). Eventually we got it. Food was mediocre at best. The children's entrees were suppose to come with dessert (a cookie and ice cream) but that never happened! We'd waited over 1/2 hour before we even got our bill and then another 20 mins before anyone came back with a debit machine. The children's entrees arrived with 2 fries each (not even offered another side of fruit etc). It appeared that nobody was really overseeing the whole floor. read more

I thought it was very tasty, and there is a tiny little chef there that is just cute as a button! I believe his name was willow, he comes out to the table for birthday celebrations and sings happy birthday in perfect pitch while serving his specialty birthday cake "Eric's Chocolate Surprise" which was absolutely delicious. After previous visits which were quite good, we were disappointed with one of our meals on this occasion. The pork tenderloin was stringy and tough. Either the cut was poor or it was cooked too hot and too quickly. We complained, and the manager said they would investigate in the kitchen and offered the compensation of a desert. Being diabetic, my wife never takes desert, so she opted for a cappuccino which was pathetic -- either from a mix or a poor machine. I guess we will keep looking for a consistently good restaurant in Lethbridge. read more

This has been a favourite restaurant since they opened years ago. We always found the food and service to be consistently good, great atmosphere. However, the last few experiences have been disappointing and we've heard the same from friends! The service was still great, but the food was definitely subpar. One of the times we both had pasta and it was over cooked and mushy. Cooking pasta is pretty basic!! Hoping this isn't a continuing trend and they get back to their previous standards. read more

Firestone is OK. I've never been disappointed, but I've also never been wowed. It's pretty typical chain-steakhouse or hotel restaurant food. In the summer, though, the patio is one of the best places to hang out and have a drink. One thing I've never been able to figure out though... why is their beer selection so bad? read more

I was extremely disgusted ...first of all my wife ask what was the house Chardonnay the bar tender said it was fireside ...I asked from where ?? He handed us the bottle it was from Australia and said that in their menu ....I had ordered rotisserie chicken which was over cooked and dry when I told the waitress and showed her she even agreed and said she would mention it to the kitchen and nothing was done ...I even mentioned the issue to the manager nothing was done ..... extremely deplorable service!!! read more

We don't live in Lethbridge and have been here twice before during a visit in Nov 2015. Last time it was wonderful. I would have given it a 5 easily. We were back tonight and if you were looking for something to kick your blood-pressure up, this would be the place to go. The lobster dip appetizer was served with heavily salted chips. Then my husbands bison burger was salt from beginning to end and accompanied by.. you guessed it, heavily salted fries. If we hadn't been starving we would have left. Front of the house staff were wonderful, no complaints there, we complimented them but somebody needs to take the salt shaker away from the chef. read more

Yet another major strike out! My husband and I came to the Firestone a few years ago and had a deplorable experience, for which we were promised a gift certificate, but we never received it, and swore we'd never go back, but not only was I interested to see what improvements, if any, had been made and I really wanted the Duck clubhouse that is advertised on the website, but IS NOT ON THE MENU! We also wanted to try the new desserts, as it was our anniversary. I have and allergy to onion, which makes dining out a challenge, but certainly not an impossible one. I informed the waitress of my allergy and we placed our order, the manager came promptly to our table to learn specifics of my allergy if cross contamination was a concern etc., and I was impressed, the last time I was served food I could not consume because it had onion in it, this after being reassured by the waitress that there was no onion in the dish I had ordered, vast improvement- BRAVO! So I was not perturbed at all when the manager returned to our table to inform me that my first choice of entree was, regrettably, prepared with onion, so I made another selection, and another as each was declined by the kitchens as having onion in it, they kept trying to force me to order the alfredo, which I know tastes like saddle soap! I ordered no less than four times, even the order of pork tenderloin with mushroom sauce, I mean how difficult or time consuming is it to make a quick mushroom cream sauce for a dish, when "all the sauces are made from scratch", it would have taken me less than five min. at home! I finally gave up, much to the satisfaction OF THE KITCHEN, I'm sure! They brought our appetizers, aka, my meal, my Candied Bacon Bruschetta was passable, but bland, but my husband's coconut shrimp- what a miserable excuse for a $16 PLATE- 5 tiny shrimp, the size you get from a bargain basement frozen shrimp ring, cut in half lengthwise to cover their minuscule size and coated and fried, but these would have been acceptable, if over priced if a) they had been fresh, b)well prepared, but they were freezer burnt and rubbery, certainly NOT an item prepared fresh to order in the Firestone kitchen.I was further disappointed when no other attempts to rectify the situation were made, not even a discount on the bill. I will say my husband enjoyed his entree, and the desserts were, in fact, excellent. It is regrettable that a restaurant that boasts such a fine reputation, lives up to that reputation so poorly. read more
