We were in town for a few days and I made a Friday night dinner reservation about a week prior. One of the best meals I've ever had. The ambiance was timeless farmhouse meets upscale fine dining. Our waitress Simona was excellent. She guided us through the just-released summer 2026 menu. The two page menu had an a la carte page and a tasting menu page. We opted to do a la carte. What we ordered: Artisan Bread for the table first course: Smoked Trout Toast + Yellow Tail Carpaccio second course: Burrata & Prosciutto third course: Bavette dessert: Goat Cheesecake + drinks: Carajillo + Espresso Martini I don't even know where to begin or what was my favorite. Everything was so flavorful and plates were so thoughtfully designed. My hubby's favorite was the smoked trout toast. The Bavette (steak) we both equally loved. The yellow tail carpaccio may have been my favorite. But the burrata and prosciutto was so unexpectedly a top contender too. And then that goat cheesecake was the perfect way to end the experience. And the bread... locally made and paired with house made butter... definitely need to add this to your meal! The only problem was that I wanted to order everything on the menu but my stomach and wallet told me otherwise LOL I want to fly back to Park City just to eat here again! read more

We came 2 years ago during Sundance, and loved the food. So we went again and it was just as fantastic. The starters were delicious. The hamachi was so fresh, and the duck confit Caesar salad was fantastic! I did a starter size of the parpadelle as my main, and it was the perfect amount of food, as I had a bite each of my dining companions Wagyu steak, Bavette steak and the lamb "New York." My husband loved his lamb so much (he doesn't get it at home because I don't like lamb) but we all agreed that the Bavette was the winner. Making the evening even more perfect was our server Victor. He was amazing! So fun and friendly, and it was like he could read our minds & would bring things we were talking about without us asking. We joked that there must be a microphone hidden at the table. It's a great room too, with windows into the kitchen and beautiful decor. Really wonderful experience here! Not sure if we just timed it right (our waiter mentioned that Michelin guide was in town so it's possible they had upped their game) but this was one fabulous dinner. Special shoutout to our waiter, Alex, who was not only friendly and attentive, but truly knew the menu inside and out. He also was happy to help with alternatives for those of us who had allergy or food preferences. The ambiance here is nice - very simple and warm but still felt upscale. Given there were 8 of us, I can't say I remember everyone's orders but below is what my partner and I ordered to share: Pappardelle Yellowtail Carpaccio Crispy Duck Caesar Wagyu Strip Loin All of the food was cooked or prepared beautifully. My biggest complaint was portion size, as the dishes are pretty pricey. But hey, you're paying for quality, not quantity. The group split a handful of the desserts, and while I can't remember the names of what the table ordered, I do have photos below. I personally ordered the persimmon sorbet which I was a huge fan of. One final note - our group stayed LATE yapping. Like closed down the joint and not a single person tried to rush us out. I'm so appreciative of their kindness and willingness to let us finish out our evening when I know for sure we overstayed our welcome. Wow oh wow! Amazing! Everything at Firewood is done with intention and excellence. From the moment we were seated to our after dinner drinks, the service was spot on without being overbearing and the food- it is by far the best we've had in PC. And yes we've eaten at just about every restaurant including the one halfway up main with the "horse" (don't get me wrong, their food is good but we've found that the menu has become somewhat stale). It's hard for me to comment on specific food items as our group of 8 got different dishes and enjoyed them all. Even small touches like tiny bites to cleanse your palette put this establishment at the top of the PC restaurant must try list. We'll be back! read more

I was... not a fan. Sorry. The ambience was not that great, in my opinion. The restaurant is sort of in an L-shape, with half of it in a nice intimate setting, and the other half is closer to the front entrance and kitchen, being a bit loud and bright. The staff is nice, but they don't go above and beyond. We were a large party and got almost everything you could try on the menu. Nothing stood out. It was a bit of a disappointment. Nothing was AWFUL, but we just didn't leave with a toasty-cozy feeling that this place is somewhere we want to come back to again! We love this place. Our third time here. Highly recommend the wagyu steak. I've gotten it 2x in the past. We tried all the steaks with our group and wagyu was top choice. A favorite in PC during Sundance. This was a between-screenings drop in, and they quickly whisked me to the bar for a drink and bite. The atmosphere = the name - beautiful dark wood and brick make for a warm ambiance. The drink - Woodlands, a smoky variation of an old fashioned - but nicely dryer and absolutely delicious. I chose two small plates and they did not disappoint. The trout toast with smoky cabbage, bacon, goat cheese has a surprising twist of hibiscus onion that sliced through the smoke beautifully. The winter greens salad with castelfranco, endive, Brussel leaves, blue cheese and huckleberry was similarly delightful. Friendly service, and they adjusted my drink to make it carry more smoke. The food was very good not the most amazing I have had in my life but very very good. I would definitely go back but keep in mind very expensive. Cocktail and wine are outrageous at $24 a glass. TLDR: Stayed at Deer Valley for a week and this was my favorite meal. Everything was so flavorful, and portions were just right. It was pricy but so worth it. Recommending to all my friends who visit Deer Valley! FOOD: - [HIGHLY RECOMMEND] The Lamb (5/5): Tender, so flavorful, and on a bed of risotto. The risotto wasn't creamy which was actually perfect because I think a creamy risotto combined with the lamb would have been too heavy - [HIGHLY RECOMMEND] Wagyu bavette (5/5): Best steak I had in Park City. Was so flavorful without being overdone -- not too salty or coated in too many spices. I thought the potato and butter could have been softer but it was a cool concept. - Winter vegetables (4.5/5): A great vegetable dish to pair with carbs or protein. - Berry crumble (4/5): Super delicious but wish the berry jam under the crumble was more jammy and got less congealed as we ate the dessert. Came with a perfectly soft scoop of ice cream which was the perfect combo. - Our meal came with an unexpected amuse-bouche! However as others have mentioned in other reviews, the hostesses are unfriendly and couldn't care less - everyone in Utah is friendly and it's surprising to find this lack of service at the front at a restaurant like Firewood. We so enjoyed our first dining experience at Firewood from the cocktail we started out with (Bourbon Thyme) to the dessert. I'm glad I went with the Pappardelle Mushroom for my first course. Homemade fettuccine noodles. Great taste! I would've liked an entire trough. Second course was Little Gem. It was light and fresh. This is the one item I might switch out next time just because raw is not usually my jam. While I was enjoying the Bavette my husband had the Cod. Both delicious! By this time we were drinking the Pinot Noir from Williamette Valley Vineyard - everything a Pinot noir should be (unless you are looking for overly earthy). I'm glad we didn't skip dessert! Can't remember what it was called but it tasted like a crunchy marshmallow with the best homemade jam ever. It was a nice little portion of sweet heaven. read more

This has been my go to birthday restaurant ( 10 years) I had heard recently that it is not the same quality and service. I did not heed the warnings. My friends hosted me and it was the worse experience. The girl at the front desk looked as if she hated her job and literally strutted into the dining room. The server described the menu as if was baby sized portions. If course we ordered much more than usual. The food came and it was "normal " sized. Great way to sell food. The busboy came over no less that 40 times to "pour " our sparking water( obviously trying to have us order more). I had not finished my glass of wine when the same busboy removed it. The food was passable, but nothing like it had been. I emailed the manager and finally after several days I received a curt reply that she would pass my " concerns" along to the managers and hoped I would return. No thanks read more

Some parts were good. Most were disappointing. Took the waitress an hour to take our order and our food came out an hour after. I mentioned the restaurant was very hot and the waitress told me to step outside. Both tables who sat down 30+ minutes after us were served before us. The 79$ wagyu was overcooked. The fried crab bit on the steak was cold and clumpy. Do not order the bolognese the noodles were too thick and cold. This place is not getting 1 star is because when we complained they comped some appetizers (even though we asked them not to) and were very responsive to our criticism also everyone working there is very nice. Would love to see them succeed but for an $1,000 meal no one wants slow service and mediocre meal. read more

Served with carrots and potatoes, it was the perfect main course. The little gems salad was amazing. It was served with the most buttery yellow tail. I have never had a salad served with fresh sushi, but I was not mad at all. It was delicious. They brought out a complementary starter. It was prosciutto and potato. Our first trip to Park city and, as foodies, we picked four high and restaurants to dine at during our trip. Of the four firewood was our absolute favorite. The service was outstanding. Our waitress was engaging and funny. She took excellent care of us and put up with our corny jokes. The food was absolutely wonderful. The crispy pork belly was delicious. My wife had the Bavette steak and I had the Wagyu ribeye. Both were perfectly cooked. The potato au gratin side was so good that after I got home I have been working to re-create it. The ambience of the restaurant is wonderful with a lot of wood and big iron doors. The food service and ambience all came together to make it a wonderful dining experience. I don't know when we'll be back in Park city but if we do we will definitely return to firewood. read more

We usually come towards the end of the ski season, so I didn't realize how difficult it is to get a table for a larger group on a Saturday night during peak season. We were able to get a reservation in the lounge area (21+ only) about a week out. Wine markups were pretty high, so we went with cocktails and beers for dinner. - Fireline: mezcal based with hibiscus - Woodlands: an old fashioned Amuse: Feta cheese mousse and Brussels sprout with bacon Starters: - Smoked trout: local hot smoked trout on garlic toast with goat cheese and cured egg. I don't usually care for trout, but this - Oxtail onion soup: rich flavor, lots of onion, interesting with Brie instead of Gruyère Mains: - Elk loin: the highlight of the night - not gamey at all, very tender - Bavette steak: good flavor, more marbled than your usual sirloin, served with pave potatoes - Black cod: with a sort of miso Asian glaze, tender The server was nice, and they were really good about refilling water. We loved the pork belly appetizer and winter vegetables as appetizers. The cocktails were phenomenal. For the main menu, we got the American Kobe brisket & scallops with gnocchi. Both were well executed. Especially, the gnocchi was the best part of the meal. The wine pairing was just perfect. We both loved the desert wines along with mouth watering cheese cake to finish up our all day skiing in the snowy mountains in this beautiful ski resort. Hands down the best meal we had while in Park City! Unfortunately due to the popularity of the restaurant we weren't able to get a reservation until 845pm but it was 100% worth it! The service, staff, and ambience of the restaurant was amazing the entire night. They even added a nice touch of a personalized menu with our name at the top of it! For cocktails, we got the fire line and the one with vodka and grapefruit. Both were excellent but the fire line was definitely my favorite of the two! For appetizers, we ordered the gnocchi, pork belly, and oysters. The gnocchi was absolutely amazing as were the oysters! The pork belly was good but just not my favorite. For entrees, two of us ordered the sturgeon, two got the tenderloin, one got the lamb, and I got the elk. Everyone seemed to enjoy their entree and my elk was incredibly tasty! For dessert, we got the cheesecake and carrot cake. The carrot cake was probably the best one I've ever had. The frosty was out of this world! Firewood is a lovely restaurant, especially in the Summer where you can sit on their patio. However, for the price of eating there ($$$) they get some things wrong. First we ordered a $250 bottle of Barolo and it came to our table warm. Not room temp, but warm. When we asked the server if they had a bottle that was chilled or stored correctly we received no apology just an explanation of "we don't chill any of our wines". They obviously don't even keep them in their basement as this wine was way above room temperature and almost hot. In top of that when we ordered a Boulvardier the cocktail came with pebble ice like the kind you find at Sonic. Not appropriate for an expensive cocktail. The food was okay, but the overall experience is not worth the money. read more

You should request to have it cooked slightly more over done than you normally would because the food is cooked over a wood fire and the temperatures are slightly different than normal. At least that's what our waitress told us. Service: Good The orders are put all at once and the staff times your meals accordingly. The staff is super helpful as well. The food and drinks were brought out fairly quickly. Covid Compliance: Yes You need to enter with a mask. There's 6 ft distance between tables. Servers have masks on at all times. Made a somewhat last minute reservation at Firewood when in town for a charity event. So happy that we did. The food was delicious. We got our 11-year old to try the pork belly, and we had to laugh when her eyes lit up with delight from liking it so much. The service was attentive and friendly.
